What are you doing, this NYE?

My friends, sometimes sister, & I do the same every year w/ small variations, we always stay in, the point is we’re all off the roads, together & nobody has to worry about the other. We always have great food, always too much, same with drinks, sometimes we dress up, sometimes we dress down. This is a dress up year at my house😌We also typically play games that devolve as the night wears on. We watch the ball drop, scream like idiots, run outside to listen to the neighborhood that sounds like the 4th of July/war-zone, scream like crazy some more, & that’s a wrap for 2022.

Staffing

So my floor is down 3.5 nurse, two on evenings and 1.5 on days because we share a nurse with our Bari unit. So my shift, days is down 2 nurse. 3-11 is down 5 nurse and they are offering huge incentives to pick up and literally begging us to stay or switch. Night shift is down one nurse, ONE god damn nurse. Yet they are the ones who complain loudest when working short. Never mind I'm floated every other day, mostly because I'm requested by the managers, or I'm working down a nurse. I do at least 2 doubles a pay week and often switch shifts. I picked up day shift tomorrow instead of being off and got conned into coming in 2 hours early. None of it gives me an incentive. I only get 2 hours of over time. My sleep schedule is wracked from working different shifts and my insomnia. But I can be my sweet ass if I say I'm tired tomorrow every night shifter will jump down my throat about how short they are. How much extra work they have. How hard it is. But the ones crying the most don't pick up or help other shifts running short.
