I have no idea if these anons are just the same person or different people but.

When did sourcing blogs become a problem?

I own another incorrect quotes blog and I dont source my quotes (mainly because most of the quotes I get from other blogs, only like 1/3 of the blogs I get quotes from actually sources them, plus I get a lot of my quote ideas from my friends as well who just kinda post em on Discord without knowing where they were originally from), but I’ve never had an issue like this on there.

Plus, if you read the description, I used to own this blog before when it had over 5,000 followers (sadly we gotta restart cause someone hacked into my account and deleted everything, so we’re now only just over 70), and never once did any of those 5k+ followers ever ask me anything about sources.

Ill add to the desc that most of these quotes are NOT mine if that helps, but I do apologize for not sourcing my quotes. I just don’t understand why it out of the blue became such a huge problem.

Hopefully that anon (or anons? idk all the asks looked similar in texting style so /shrug/) understands, this blog is just made for shits and giggles, nothing more than that.

Hey there! I loved what you wrote about cultural Christianity, but I wanted to make one small, polite correction: Jewish marriages very much need not one, but two witnesses - or “eidim” in Hebrew - in order to consider the marriage valid. Nearly all (if not all all) matters of Jewish law, including marriages, require two witnesses. :) source: religious Jewish upbringing and 13 years of orthodox schooling

Huh! Maybe the person was from a very weird offshoot? o_OThey...I think either directly claimed to be Jewish or may have just noted that it was for a “Jewish” aimed publication, the story they were working on that had that as a plot point? But they also noted that the adults around the two technically-of-age-but-under-18 kid characters didn’t take it “seriously” and that a “divorce” would have been allowed with no stigma between the kids (which...this may be a very subtle difference between “the two people consider it valid in their spiritual hearts” and “literally ‘legal’ valid” that was intended?? idk)......then again, it’s not like I have proof they were Jewish or know EXACTLY how well-educated they were on Jewish Traditions. So they could themselves be incorrect for one reason or another, it happens.  Or... it’s possible I just didn’t quite understand the nuances of what they were trying to describe, especially since they were trying very hard to not be Too Specific about the plot or character backgrounds at first? (I only found out they were intending it as a story about Jewish characters at all because they messaged me privately - they were kinda wary about advertising that fact, especially since TECHNICALLY you didn’t necessarily need to know the characters were specifically Jewish to be able to address the questions they were directly asking the forum about). Idk!
