omg it was forever ago i’m not sure which game you’re asking about exactly - I assume it’s this one since it’s the latest i’ve done? I don’t mind doing it though, but if you meant another ask, let me know!

who’s the cuddler: Alma does it more openly and would do it in front of people without problem. But in private, I think Kanda would be the one seeking for more touches. I kinda hc Kanda is really touch starved but doesn’t trust easily, therefore he kinda give in once he’s with someone like Alma, whom he loves very much. Alma finds it endearing. Kanda had Alma promise not to tell anyne.

who makes the bed: Kanda. He’s more steady and I think that he would make it at least because it helps with a good environment for meditation’s sake. Meanwhile I can see Alma being so eager to see the new day that making the bed becomes completely forgettable. Kanda complains a bit about it but it always cheers him up to see Alma happy about something.

who wakes up first: Oooh depends. Officially we know they are both early birds - in the labs Alma woke up early to greet new people, Kanda woke up early because of nightmares, and nowadays we know Kanda wakes up very early to train. In a perfect world, I think they would always kinda wake up together, always feeling when the other wakes up. Generally I could see Kanda being the one waking up regularly earlier, due to his training or nightmares - but when it overlaps with Alma’s planning, Alma can be first.

who has the weird taste in music: Omg both. I think Alma would be the kind to want to try everything, so it’s always different. Meanwhile I think Kanda would be set to a very precise taste of music and couldn’t budge from it, but it sounds weird for everyone. He does effort to open up to what new weird thing Alma discovered this week though.

who is more protective: AH. Both, but I think Alma wins it because of canon so far. I mean Alma killed people to the mere thought of them hurting Kanda. But it doesnt mean Kanda isn’t protective, I mean, he did desert the Order to protect Alma after all. I kinda think they are both extremely protective of each other and in a perfect world, would do anything to stay together and therefore would eventually go beyond limits to keep the other safe. But I’ll go with Alma if i really need to pick one.

who sings in the shower: Alma. It’s fun that way, isn’t it? Kanda would never even try. But I like to picture that sometimes he can overhear Alma and without realizing he ends up humming the tune Alma was singing. Somehow it makes me smile.

who cries during movies: Alma. Kanda plays it tough, while Alma is extremely opened about his emotions. When Alma is crying a lot, Kanda never really know what he should do.

who spends the most while out shopping: Alma. I feel like Kanda would always try to have only the bare necessities. Meanwhile, again bc I picture Alma to be very curious, I can see Alma trying to buy everything catching the eyes. Shopping with Alma is a nightmare.

who kisses more roughly: huuuuuuuh I admit I mostly think they’re softies with each others. I tend to think with all they’ve been through, they would be more gentle with their touches toward the other. I can see Alma being a little more rough on incident with the heat of the moment, but otherwise I think both are pretty gentle.

who is more dominate: I.... still dislike this question and am not sure how i’m supposed to answer to this one. I think they both pretty much buttheads since they’re both really stubborn. So ye.

my rating of the ship from 1-10: 11 I love them so much

this is such a good scene hh.

The fact Kanda put a huge importance on the fact they’re Exorcists, and have to act as such, is so interesting. He complies to his duty as exorcist, whenever he likes it or not, whenever he agrees or not. Because he believes that sacrifices have to be done for the greater good, for the bigger picture.

Because it was what Alma and him were. They were meant to be weapon and to suffer to serve the war. And in the end, he had to kill Alma, to ensue his own survival and the survival of others, after Alma killed everyone.

Sacrifices are something he considers as a necessity because that’s all he had always seen, it’s how he always rolled with it. His own life was the product of that, the loss of Alma was a product of that. Thinking this way is the only way to truly move on after what he had to do to Alma, having not only to kill them, but cut them to pieces.

But Allen steps in and propose himself as a sacrifice, because what’s in front of him is more important than the big picture. He had lost people he cared about, he doesn’t want people to go through the same thing - at the opposite of Kanda who closed in, Allen’s grief led him to show that compassion to other. Kanda is leading himself with the hope of seeing “That Person” again, but Allen doesn’t seem to have anything as such.

He proposes himself as a sacrifice, basically saying he would die protecting them until the bitter end if needed. And in the end, when Kanda and Alma reunite and decide to spend Alma’s last moment together, just like Lala wants to spend Gurozu’s last moment with him, Allen is the one standing between the couple and the Church. He puts his own freedom/safety in jeopardy to protect people who just want to have a last moment together.

Ironically, Kanda was representing the Church in that precise moment, emulating his abusers, like he was taught. The fact the Alma’s arc mirror the Matel’s arc in that regard is so brilliant. It both tells us everything we need to know about Kanda as a person before his arc, and show how deeply it was inside of him.

Ironically, it’s when “The Mirror” Also come in - The Akuma and Nea both happen in those moments. The Akuma ruins Lala and Gurozu’s chances to do as they wish... Meanwhile Nea, did probably the opposite, as it’s after his awakening that Allen can see right through Alma. Moreover, stabbing Allen is what brought Kanda to break from his dissociation. Both “Mirror” were catalysts, but both in a really different way - the Akuma incident making Lala lose her Personhood, while the Nea Incident revealed Alma’s.

Allen couldn’t get Lala and Gurozu to die on their own terms. Lala lost all personhood before breaking and Gurozu died - but Lala unconsiously followed Gurozu’s will and broke in the end by his side. Only then her innocence was retrieved by the Order.

In the end, Alma's last moments were on their own term. Alma lost a lot of themselves after the Dark Matter took over. But they were still driven by their love for Kanda. And they could spend their last moment together. But Kanda lived still and carried on his own, retrieving his innocence, and carrying on his own will with Alma’s remembrance.

And Kanda went from despiting that in Allen to being thanksful and trying to repay it to him. They’ve come such a long way, and it’s still so impressing to see how much of this was right in the first real arc of the manga.

I’m doing them all since we talked about it in private and... let’s go!

1: Who spends almost all their money on the other?

They would both, tbh, especially Alma. I think Kanda would have a better understanding of hoarding money and Alma would just go “but Yuu I need to buy it for you.” That being said, Kanda does it a lot too so how can he blame Alma.

2: Who sleeps in the other’s lap?

Alma. Kanda doesn’t often initiate affection, not the way Alma does. Not that Kanda minds tho

3: Who walks around the house half-naked and who yells at them to put on some clothes?

..... I don’t trust any of them to be honest. They would probably both do this kind of things and both would have to call each other out.

4: Which one tells the other not to stay up all night and which one stays up all night anyway?

Kanda has the most trouble sleeping, so Alma is often the one to call him out and tell him to rest. But Kanda would cake up from nightmares eventually, and Alma would always wake up after that to keep him compagny.

5: Which one tries to make food for the other but burns it all by accident and which one tells them that it’s okay and makes them both cookies?

I have this headcanons that Alma is super enthustiast about cooking but often makes a mess, while Kanda just knows how to do the basic necessity (ways too much Sôba, stop him). But when it comes to cookies tbh, Kanda doesn’t like sweets, so I’d see Alma cook them and try to have Kanda taste them - and Kanda would because what wouldn’t he do for Alma.

6: Which one reads OTP prompts and says “Oh that’s us!” and which one goes “Eh, not really”?

Alma is the “that’s us” person. Kanda would grumble “Eh not really” because he’s a grumpy cat.

7: Which one constantly wears the other’s clothes?

Alma! Definitly! Although in a “Alma survived AU” I think Alma would probably burn Kanda’s uniform and act like the uniform never existed all by stealing the rest of Kanda’s clothes.

8: Which one spends all day running errands and which one says “You remembered [thing], right?”

I think Alma would run everywhere? Like, Alma seems to be the most curious about anything from the outside world, so going outside will take h o u rs and it’ll be so distracting! Kanda has to make tons of reminders.

9: Which one drives the car and which one gives them directions?

huuuh hard to say. I wouldn’t trust either with a car and I wouldn’t trust either into giving the good directions. They’d be fighting after 5 minutes because “I told you we had to go right!” “I went right, just, not your right!”

10: Which one does the posing while the other one draws?

ngl I picture Alma drawing more than Kanda, it would help keep the agressivity in check y’know. Kanda gladly takes the pose, he just do the bare minimum complaining that Alma will tease about later.

11: If they were about to rob a museum, which one does backflips through lasers and which one is strolling behind with a bag of chips?

Huuuh hard to say. Canonically Alma sneaked up into heavy infrastructure much more than Kanda ahah. Kanda would be like “oh time to be sneaky? Okay. I’m gonna destroy this place.”

So I’d say, Alma would be the one to be sneaky. But Kanda wouldn’t be eating a bag of chips, he would look at the whole thing and think “It would have gone quicker if you let me destroy it.”

12: Which one of your OTP overdoes it on the alcohol and which one makes the other stop drinking?

In canon they both have the regenerative ability to not get a hangover, even if it’s failing lately for Kanda. So in the end, Kanda would probably be the one overdoing it and Alma having to keep him cool ahah

13: Which one likes to surprise the other with a lot of small random gifts?

Both, but especially Alma. Alma would always find a reason to give a gift - like there will be a picnic planned or something like that. Although, I love to think that since Alma loves the little things, Everytime Kanda would go outside he’d find something really silly like, a rock or a seashell and brings it back to Alma because he knows Alma likes this kind of stuff and it’s always nice to see Alma smiles.

14: Which one keeps accidentally using the other’s last name instead of their own?

That’s kinda the tricky one since in canon their last name only happened later and they didn’t have any for a while (Alma became Alma Karma because of what happened to the Asian Branche, Kanda started using Kanda as a way to sneak from the Order when he was with Tiedoll and distance himself from the trauma linked to his name imo, which is why he reacts this badly at being called “Yuu” since only Alma and his abusers called him this way)

So taking that into account, I think Alma would hate the name “Karma” for a while because of how it’s associated to such horrible things. “Kanda” became a comforting name though, so eventually Alma would probably ending up picking it up.

15: Which one screams about the spider and which one brings the spider outside?

Kanda screams about the spiders and tries to kill it - Alma tries to bring it outside safely.

16: Which one gives the other their jacket?

Huuuh both? Both. Honestly they’d probably both fight because “keep the goddamn jacket you’re the one who’s cold”

17: Who keeps getting threatened by the other’s overprotective older sibling?

Well Alma only have Kanda, while Kanda has the Order, so... I think so, in Kanda’s side, Lenalee would probably expect the both of them to be the bigger person, and she will always hear both of them all the time to know who to lecture. Komui basically saw Kanda grew up, and I wouldn’t be surprised he’d be lowkey protective at time. Tiedoll would be a total mess and wouldn’t be overprotective, he’d be mostly crying on how his son is now a grown up. But let’s be real he has adopted Alma as soon as they met ahah. Marie is always extremely gentle with Alma, and would most likely lecture Kanda instead of lecturing Alma.

The thing is that honestly? Allen would be the one to start threatening Kanda as a protector of Alma. It would drive Kanda nuts because he’s half convinced Allen just takes Alma’s side to go against Kanda ahah.

18: Who’s the first one to admit they have feelings for the other?

To their face? Huuh hard to say. In canon it had been such a mess for them to tell each other their feelings, so it’s a mess to think about how a proper declaration would come. I think eventually, in a normal setting, Alma would have more chance to remind Kanda all the time of how he feels for him and it’d take some time for Kanda to declare it back.

19: How good would your OTP be at parenting?

They probably would be okay? In their past lives, they wanted children. But after all they’ve been through on the canon timeline, I think that they wouldn’t even think about it. Even in an au where they have no problem and all, I don’t exactly see them raising kids, at least not in the setting of a holy war. In a modern au, eventually, but it’d take them more maturity and it’s a little hard to picture when their lives had been shapped by the war so far.

While Kanda would be a grumpy dad, I think he’d be really sweet if not awkward with his children. Alma would always be very sweet I think.

20: Which one types with perfect grammar and which one types using numbers as letters?

Hard to say? I think Kanda writes well, but not perfectly, he often uses words to rudely and doesn’t care much. Alma would probably try harder with grammar.

21: Who gets attacked by a bully and who protects them?

.... well in canon, it’s Kanda who gets attacked and Alma who gets to protect him. And honestly I think that’s how it’d go generally. Kanda is always up to pick up a fight, but Alma doesn’t really let people bully them. But if Kanda gets lowkey attacked? Alma would unleash hell. Fear Alma.

22: Who makes the bad puns and who makes a pained smile every time the other makes a pun?

Alma makes the bad puns, Kanda would be pained. in an “Alma survives” Au you can’t tell me Allen and Lavi wouldn’t team up to teach Alma new puns to use against a very grumpy Kanda.

23: Who comes home from work to see that the other one bought a puppy?

It’s canon that it’s Kanda who loves dog ways too much, so honestly, I think one day Kanda will come back home with three puppies and be all “I didn’t bring them here” while he totally did. Alma rolls with it tho, it’s cute.

24: Which one gives the other a piggyback ride when they’re tired?

Both, but Alma does it more often. when Kanda pushes his limits, he pushes them ways too far so Alma would probably have to look out for him. ... also if Alma ends up too tired, Kanda would probably carry them bridelike style *coughs* like in canon *coughs*

25: Which one competes in some sort of activity and which one does the overzealous cheering?

Mostly, Alma cheers on everything Kanda does- it annoyed Kanda a lot when they were younger, but now he just like it and only pretend he doesn’t. When Alma does stuff, Kanda often sneaks cheers, but they are far less loud than Alma’s. But every words Kanda would say would cheer up Alma tbh.

26: Who takes a selfie when the other one falls asleep on their shoulder?

Alma. Definitly Alma. In a more modern AU you can’t tell me Alma wouldn’t be obsessed with taking pictures of everything, especially of Kanda.

27: Which one would give the other a makeover if they asked?

I don’t think Kanda would want one, Kanda would let Alma bread his hair though, but that’s the further he’ll allow. Maybe Alma would ask for a makeover and Kanda would help with whatever Alma wants.

28: Which one owns a pet that the other is absolutely terrified of?

Kanda sticks to cute doggos - Alma comes back home with huge spiders and say its their friend and Kanda would not be pleased. I mean. He’d let Alma do anything but why this

29: Which one holds the umbrella over both of them when it rains?

Huuuh I don’t see one doing it more than the other. Eventually Alma I think?

30: If your OTP went on vacation, where would they go and what would they do? Who would take the pictures?

I’m still holding to my headcanon that Alma always wanted to see the world, so they’ll visit any places Alma wants to visit. Alma would take all of the pictures. It makes Kanda happy to see Alma that happy though. They deserved a break and be happy, didn’t they?

jfc so to get me in the mood to study Japanese I put all the songs I had in Japanese in a playlist, which is like, 119 songs long alright, and somehow, SOMEHOW despite that, it managed to play the ONE SONG i had to put in my Yulma’s playlist because the translation fits them too much. and it plays the accoustic version at that, which is a hundred time sadder, ALL WHILE IM SCROLLING THE YULMA’S TAG.

o m g actually ye.

An AU maybe where they were both experiments on other Branch and eventually Kanda got out of here first, and got less complication than Alma. He retired/has a vacation house nearby where Alma is getting experimented on until Alma runs away and ends up in Kanda’s house.

Now, while Alma and Kanda wouldn’t have grown up together, Kanda would take them in right away because he knows how it feels and Alma really seem fucked up. and as they talk, even if they realize they weren’t in the same lab, they were experimented on by the same kind of people and both of their experients started at the same time, it’s just that Kanda would have got out of here (maybe because Tiedoll took him in quickly) while Alma, especially after losing Kanda, would have been even more experimented on.

….. There’s AU potential I like it.

22- Who cooks more/who is better at cooking?

Kanda would have more opportunity to cook I think. I’d see Tiedoll and Jerry teaching him a few things. Alma… didn’t really have the chance to learn . But I headcanon that they would have mastered the Mayonnaise but.. not any other kind of meal….

23- Who comes up with cheesy pick up lines?

A l m a. “Are you a thief? ‘Cause you stole my heart”

“I’ve never stolen anything wtf Alma why you’re sayign that did you steal someone?”

(Kanda doesn’t get the hint too often. When he does he says it’s stupid but Alma can see him blushing)

24-Who whispers inappropriate things in the other’s ear during inappropriate times?

Alma again. Kanda is really expressive though, so the worst is that e v e ryone can see Kanda’s face change for the worst as Alma tries not to laugh.

25- Who needs more assurance?

Huuh. While Alma is rather social, Kanda doesn’t really care much about others either. He ha all the assurance he needs. Alma on the other hand could have a little more trouble with that?

3- Most common argument?

Huuuh. To be honest, they bicker a lot. Over Alma’s diet or over-enthusiasm, or over Kanda’s grumpyness, but it’s never really bad per se, it’s mostly teasing. The real arguments, that are like, super serious, would be if one of them pushes the other away in time of trouble or hide their trouble. As kids, Kanda was doing it the most, which worried Alma sick. If Alma would have survived, it would probably have been the other way around.

… And Let’s not mention the “let’s die together” argument okay. It never happened.

13- Who reaches for the other’s hand first?

In many respect, I think as kids it would totally be Alma. Kanda would always grumble a little but then his hold would grow tight to be sure Alma doesn’t go which always makes Alma smiles. On the other hand, if Alma had survived after the infamous ark (*sobs*) I honestly feel like Kanda would have been the one to do that. Because as long as he has Alma’s hand in his nothing bad can happen right? And Alma would stay with him. He’d still grumble about it and find hismelf excuses though but Alma would be even more endeered. I think that after the whole incidents, Alma would probably not be too comfortable with inniciating touches, feeling guilty of what they have done with those hands y’know?

21- Who is more likely to start dancing with the other?

Mostly Alma. I can totally see them dragging Kanda to dance with them. Not that he’d take too long for Kanda to give in anyway.

Drinks all of the coffee: Probably Kanda? I can see Alma not being too found of it or drink it with ways too much sugar tbh. Kanda on the other hand, would agree the coffee is as bitter as his soul

Brings up adopting a pet: I don’t think Kanda would bring it up himself even though he /really/ wants a dog. I can see Alma bringing it up. And Kanda’s eyes getting all bright while he tries to act uninterrested.

Kills the bugs: Pr o b ab ly Kanda tbh. Although Alma is really good at killing things that /bugging/ them amn’t I right *gun fingers*

Cooks the meals: Oh boy. Eventually I’d think Kanda would be a better cook for some reasons? Mostly because I can see Jerry eaching Kanda a little. alma didn’t get this chance.

Starts getting into holidays way before they should: Honestly I’d see Alma. They’d get so excited about anything aboutthe world. Kanda would not be too excited or at lest will not show, but he will always be endeered with how Alma behaves around that.

Initiates the couple selfies: A l m a. Kanda is never too fan of being taken in pictures, but Alma insists on making memories like that.

Forgets the birthdays and anniversaries: oh boy hard to say but I think Kanda could forget things more easily?

Always ends up with too much junk food after grocery shopping: Probably Alma. Buying too much mayonnaise rip.

Nicknames the other: Almaaaaa. He has all the nicknames for Kanda. and for some reasons Kanda always let them slide like it’s nothing. He gives Alma too much freedom with it all.
