I survived the #choreoproject whew! We had our final @aftashocksd rehearsal of the year last night. Not sure what the future holds for me - I definitely hope to keep dancing next year, but we’ll have a new director & I’m not sure I’ll pass auditions or if my body will hold up. Today marked @annamommy94 ‘s final class at @cs.trainingacademy The speakers broke right as we were about to do group performances so we made it work & even convinced Anna to do a solo, though we didn’t do the “music” as well as she did. My foot/ankle survived the #ProjectFX performance WOOT! I did a terrible job of taking pics so will have to depend on my teammates (I already yoinked the group pics Brit posted; waiting for our director’s pics 😬). Had to wear all 5 special bracelets today both to cover up the wristband entirely and for extra luck because of my own lower body injury. Note to self: please stop trying to just pull a fake half side split EVER! It’s not a good idea, you’re not 18 anymore. You either take forever to recover from an injury or you never fully recover (*cough metatarsalgia from cheer). . . Foundation, concealer & mascara - @ilmakiage Face primer, eyeshadow primer, eyeshadows, bronzer, lip gloss & setting spray - @urbandecay Blush - @narsissist Highlight - @juviasplace Contour - @kevynaucoin Translucent powder - @lauramercier Lip liner - @makeupforever Eyeliner & lashes - @kisslashes . . One of my #AftaShock teammates (Laurel) actually recommended #IlMakiage to me (she gave me a mascara before the WDO performance). I’m trying out their two foundations & one of their concealers right now. They recommend using it for an entire week to really see how it works on your face. #WBW to a few weekends ago when I went to the #CardioPop event at @dandadance Anthony ( @thisarod ) has done special events like this before and the last time he did one w/ the #BritneySpears flyer I dressed up (swipe to see my pic w/ @darren.oei who also dressed up). Of course I planned to dress up this time around too. I had a major moment of panic and spent the whole night searching for the outfit. People loved the outfit and kept calling me Britney. I can’t decide if it’s fully LOL or a total facepalm moment, but there were posters all over the place & I had to tell a group of women gathered around the #NSYNC poster the names of the rest of the members not #JustinTimberlake 😂🤦‍♀️ Afterwards they were all impressed (because I used full names though I didn’t throw in JT’s middle name LOL) and one of them said “of course Britney would know” hahaha. Last slide is a quick vid clip before the group performances. Thanks Leah for the compliment! I tweeted this pic earlier saying it was my reaction to @teamniklasedin & @teamhasselborg winning Swedish Nationals earlier today. I came from curling & didn’t get home til after 1am so I just repped #TeamNoSleep before the 5K in #Coronado The women’s final was actually still going on when I left to drive to the event & I was stoked when I checked my phone after I parked to see Team Hasselborg won 🙌 Thanks to my fellow #swiftie @kellystrona for being my partner in crime for this event. I’m glad she was down to just walk the 5K because I’m so out of shape & sore 😂 Gone are the days when I could jog 10Ks without stopping. My whole body hurts from dance, curling & now the 5K. #TBT to the @aftashocksd #ProjektFX performance last weekend. Glad my foot/ankle survived but TBH it’s still not 100%. I’m THIS close to buying black flats for an event I’m attending tomorrow because I’m iffy about whether or not my foot/ankle would survive any of my existing shoes, including wedges. The temperature dropping certainly hasn’t helped as the cold aggravates my metatarsalgia (old cheer wound). Oh no she didn’t. Oh yes she did! As I alluded to in a previous post, I did end up using part of my Steampunk Arrow cosplay outfit as part of my costume for our next performance. It’s hot AF but the cropped hoodie works w/ the outfit. I need to do something w/ my hair and put a bandana on, but I think the costume came together at the last minute. #Dressrehearsal went okay tonight, I just need to keep practicing certain parts I’m not completely comfortable w/, including the Dougie LOL. Been awake since 3:45am to prepare for the #ShockFam media spot for the local NBC station to help promote San Diego Gives. I had another #CultureShockSanDiego shirt that I could’ve worn, but I was too excited that I had to wear my #AftaShock shirt. It was interesting to do the media spot this morning as it was super dark when we got there & sanitation folks were cleaning the porta potties, but once the sun started to come out it was nice - not too hot, but I still got hella sweaty because of the dancing. I actually had a panic moment driving there since my part was basically freestyle and as hype woman. No matter how long I’ve been dancing, IDK if I’ll ever get truly comfortable and good at freestyling. One of my challenges this season is to fight the impostor syndrome and just keep dancing and trying to improve.
