i can not wait any longer to post about this guy, its 5 am in the morning and all im running off is pure excitement and coke a cola. once again, yall are getting this before the folks on instagram do! a special treat for christmas eve (or any other holiday you might celebrate!

Othello / Iago the Great

hes one of Iago’s relatives and was known for his bravery and courageous deeds. he was also the first parrot to ever settle in the desert. im considering naming him Othello to match Iago’s name (Othello and Iago are characters from Shakespeare if i remember correctly). but i might also name him Iago - so that means the name has been passed down by generations (mostly by a strange coincidence). whichever name i choose, will fit his title, which is “___ the Great”.

he is rather strong for his size, having defeated creatures twice his size. (it is unclear if this was made up by relatives after him or actually true). his amulet was rumored to hold a magical force that helped him in great battles. he was a very loyal and trusted bird to those who befriended him, never once leaving their side in battle or even death.

like Iago, he is a scarlet macaw but has multicolor wings and a very short tail. he also has two different colored eyes, one green one yellow (might scrap this part, im really unsure abt what color his eyes should be) suggestions are appreciated if there is any! it is unknown if his short tail is caused by a birth defect or damaged in battle. or had always been like that. also yes, the chub does run in the family, as it should!💜🦜 (he has eyelashes as well because i could not resist the urge. the urge to give all my ocs or any character im drawing eyelashes is too strong sometimes)

edit: this post was made in December 2021!! othello is still my son! you can learn more about him under the tag #thatoneparrotsartnstuff !!! you can draw any of the original characters on here if you wish (saying this because i just want to let yall know that making art of my oc(s) is okay!!)

edit 2: i would prefer if you draw him without his turban, i plan on giving him a more accurate one soon + a new ref :)!

merry belated christmas if you celebrate!! i hope everyone’s doing well and got the presents they asked for!💜 here’s a reference for Othello! i drew this with the new stylist i got for chrismas and im happy with how it turned out! iago & aladdin related art will (hopefully) be posted more frequently now!!

unrelated but one of my friend offered to make me an othello plushie!! my little birdy will be real!
