#i'm sorry hinata i love you hinata but i just don't think that neji would wanna die for you considering your family history

y'know, the more i think about it, the more i genuinely think that Neji was trying to save Naruto, and just happened to save Hinata because they both jumped in the path of danger to save Naruto at the same time.
Like, Neji's dying speech acknowledges that Hinata tried to save Naruto, but Neji talks/thinks primarily about how much Naruto's life is worth and the meaningful impact Naruto had on Neji's life. I think he fully intended to die for Naruto.

"This is such a drag," Shikamaru says as soon as I open my front door.
"If you don't want to help me pick out a swimsuit, I'm sure Ino will," I grumble, leaving the door open as I walk away.
"You always say that she 'likes anything you try on' and that 'Ino is no help' so, no. This is less of a drag than listening to you bitch for the whole weekend," he grumbles back, closing the front door before trailing after me.
Shikamaru and I are friends... a little more than friends. Fuck buddies, we're fuck buddies. We hook up from time to time but that's what friends are for, right? Hookups and opinions. And late-night snack runs.
"I think you should just stick to the yellow one you wore on last year's weekend trip."
"And I think you're stupid. I can't wear the same one I wore last year."
"Why not? I've worn the same swim trucks for the past three years," Shika groans, feet dragging as he follows me into my room, closing my door behind himself.
"Because I wore it last year! All the other girls are going to have new ones so I need a new one. I can't be the only one without a new swimsuit," I tell him, ushering him toward the bed.
"You girls have the weirdest rules about clothes," he grumbles, flopping on his back with his feet rested on the floor, and knees bent at the edge of the mattress. "Just wear the yellow one. Your titties look good in it."
"Thanks, Shik. That's what every girl wants to hear," I say sarcastically, rolling my eyes as I dig through my closet for the four or five suits I bought. He throws up a thumbs up, the promise of his eyes being closed and him being half asleep paired with it. What a lazy sass of a friend I have.
"Okay, there's four of them."
"Great," he mumbles, drawing out the word.
I ignore his sarcasm, stripping my clothes off as I decide which one to try on first. "Alright, this one is a black one-piece," I narrate, wiggling myself into the material.
"Hey, here's some crazy shit," Shika says, sitting up right now. "When I look at you, I'll be able to see the style and color of it."
"Hey Shik?" He lets out a hum, the feeling of his eyes coating my back as I check myself out in the mirror. "Stop being a douche."
He rolls my eyes at me, resting his arm on his knee, and his head on his hand. "Do a little spin," he grumbles, a finger on his free hand making a circle in the air. I do as I'm told, slowly spilling so Shikamaru can check the swimsuit out. "One-pieces are for grandmas and women without body confidence. No."
"That's a little harsh."
"Do you want me to sugarcoat it like Ino?"
I grumble out a no, tugging the suit off myself. Shika's eyes stay locked on my nudity, sights ping-ponging alongside my movements until I turn back around. "The next one is also a one-piece - "
"No."
"Shik - "
"I already told you no. You are a hot chick with a hot body. Show it off or else my weekend will be a waste."
"No, it won't be a waste. You can googly eye Ino or Tenten or Hinata or Sakura," I point out, flipping between which of the remaining two to try on next.
"Ino would pretty much be incest, Tenten scares me, Sakura has too much attitude, and Hinata doesn't have enough attitude," he explains, rolling his eyes at me again. I swear, one of these days I'm going to poke his eyes out.
"Alright, the third is a string bikini, it's powder blue and I think it makes my ass look good," I ramble, tying the strings the best I can alone. "What do you think?" I ask, doing another slow turn.
"No," he pushes out, shifting his position as he adjusts his pants. "You look..."
"Hot?"
"Easy."
"Easy?!" I yelp, crossing my arms across my chest as I glare at Shikamaru. "I'm not easy!"
"I didn't say you were! I just said that... you look easy," he mumbles the last three words, eyes locked on my chest as he adjusts himself again. "Are you easy?"
"No! What the hell, Shik?"
"You should be... easy. Like... right now. For me."
"I asked you over to pick a swimsuit, not for a fuck," I grumble, slowly walking towards him. "This isn't picking a swimsuit," I continue, using my knee to push his open before sliding between his legs.
"The... the fourth one," he mumbles, fingers curling around the thin material, sliding back and forth as his eyes drink me up.
"You haven't even seen it yet," I complain, crossing my arms over my chest again, trying to hold onto my anger that's being drained by arousal. "How do you know it'll look good?"
"You look good in everything. You look better in nothing, though," Shika tells me, eyes still jumping around as he tugs the flimsy material to the side, leaving me exposed for him to enjoy. "Though, you also look really good in this swimsuit."
"Then I'll wear this one."
"No!" He races out, eyes snapping up to my face, his face scrunched up. "I mean... no, you still look easy."
"Do I look easy or is someone getting a little jealous?" I tease, cupping his chin and forcing him to shake his head yes. "Aw, is Shika worried he's going to lose the 'fuck' benefit of being m buddy?"
"I'm not that shallow," he mumbles, rolling his eyes at me again. "We're friends cause I like being friends. Not because you let me hit it on occasion."
"Then I'm going to wear the swimsuit."
"Pack the goddamn swimsuit and I'll set it on fire."
"Set it on fire and I'll go skinny dipping all weekend."
"Or," he starts, a single finger slowly cruising through my folds, landing on my clit to rub light circles into it. "I can make you cum and in turn, you wear the fourth swimsuit."
"Ya alright," I give in, decking down to press a kiss against his lips. Shika's finger pushes into me, lightly curling against my walls as our lips dance against each other. "I have a question." He hums in acknowledgment, sliding kisses up and down my stomach as he curls another finger in me. "Did you only agree to my fashion show so we could fuck?"
"Oh, ya. I'm not going to get any this weekend so might as well empty out now so I have a little more control while you girls walk around half naked," he admits, a third finger added before he starts thrusting them in and out of me. Shikamaru's tongue slides out, slowly trailing from the string of my bottoms and stopping at the connection string of my top. "Take your top off."
"Demanding, aren't we?" I mock, tugging on the skippy strings and letting the material tumble to the floor. "You're such a tit guy."
"I'm an ass guy too," he says, squeezing my butt with his free hand before it jumps up to my breast. He toys with my nipple, rolling it between his fingers as his mouth sucks on the other one. After some time he switches his places, eyes flicker up for a moment. "You take forever," he groans, pulling his touches away from me.
"My bad, two-pump-chump," I grumble, a yelp spilling from me when Shikamaru grabs me. His arms wrap around my legs, tugging me onto the bed. "Shika!" I giggle, back landing against my mattress as he settles between my knees.
"Yes, Pet?" He murmurs, tongue sliding across my inner thigh. I toy with his hair, rubbing my nails gently across his skull, pulling a soft whimper from him. "I hate how well you know me," he groans, undoing the strings of my bikini bottoms, and dropping them on the top left on the floor.
"No, you don't," I tease, dropping my hands down to his shirt, and tugging him up my body before I start pulling it up. Once he's free from his shirt, his necklace hangs between us, dangling in my face. God I swear, I don't know what it is but it's so hot.
"You're not paying attention to me. What a drag, you're not even into it."
"I am," I hum, lifting my hand, and using a finger to toy with our clan pendent. "I'm just getting a little bored with our routine."
"The fuck am I supposed to do with that?" He grumbles, shifting his weight back and forth between the hands pressed next to my head.
"I don't know, you're the genus here, not me."
Shikamaru lets out a long, deep sigh of annoyance, his eyes falling into their 'I look pissed but I'm thinking' look. His brows are pressed together, eyes set forward and slit. "Are your parents home?"
"No."
Silence falls between us again, Shika's eyebrows shifting as the gears in his head turn. "If I blindfold you are you going to lose your shit?"
"We're known as the Shadow Clan. I think I'll be okay with a little bit of darkness."
With that, Shika climbs off of me, his focus shifting through my dresser drawers. He stays silent when he finds my Shinobi band, carefully tying it around my eyes before whispering in my ear. "I'll be right back. Just chill."
I do as I'm told, relaxing in bed as I wait for him to return. It doesn't take long for his aura to fill my room again, my curiosity sparked by what he'll do. "What do you have planned, Mr Genus?"
"If I told you," he starts, the feeling of his breath sliding over my pussy startling me a bit. "It would ruin the plan, Miss I'm Getting Bored." My thighs are gripped, being tugged further apart. "Make sure you tell me if you're not good."
"I know, Shik."
"Just making sure," he mutters, brushing kisses against my thighs again. As the kisses roll around my skin, I'm slowly lulled, the gentleness of Shikamaru threatening to put me to sleep.
The sound of a click fills my senses with the feeling of heat licking at my thighs. "What the fuck, Shikamaru!" I yelp shoving his hand away.
"Is that a 'surprised' fuck or a 'I don't like that' fuck?" His voice is followed by soft clinking. The sound is followed by something chilled pressed to the spot previously accompanied by some kind of flame.
"Surprised fuck," I murmur, shivers running up my spine as the chilliness melts, dripping down my skin. It's an ice cube, isn't it? And the click and flame combo was Shika's lighter. What a smart but bored man.
"Mmm, good," he mutters, dropping the ice cub, making them clink against each other again. His tongue slides across my leg, lapping up the water left behind. "Is this exciting enough, Miss Bored?"
"Yes, Sir."
He hums again, climbing up my body. "Alright, you needy girl. I'm going to rest in you until you're worked up enough cause you're too much work."
"Lair, you just want to feel me pulse around you," I tease, my hands crawling down his body. Shikamaru has stripped since I've been blinded, sparking my excitement even more.
His necklace taps against my skin as he moves, the feeling of his lips mapping out his slow climb. "So what if I do? We're doing this because - "
"Hey, Sweetie? Are you home?" My mother's voice rings out, pulling a disappointed sigh from the both of us.
"You need to move out," he grumbles, tugging the headband off my eyes as he crawls off of me. "For now," he starts, mouth clinging to my throat, sucking on my skin as hard as he can. "We're going to greet your mom, excuse ourselves for lunch, and then we're going to continue our new game at my place," he finishes before sucking on the same spot, promising to leave a dark bruise on my neck.
"Shik," I whine, knotting my hands around his ponytail before I try to pull his lips off me. "You're going to leave a bruise."
"Ya, that's the point," he grumbles, his tone not matching the smile being pressed against my skin.
"So much for not being jealous," I tease, managing to pull Shikamaru off me, a loud pop following the loss of his suction.

"Nara-Chan!" Neji calls, waving at me as his squad and him walk towards our squad. "You look... good," he mutters, eyes jumping over me before he gives me a closed-eyed smile, a soft pink dusting his cheeks.
It's an open secret among our generation that Neji has started forming a bit of a crush on me. With the aftermath of the war, neither one of us has had the time to move the relationship past playful flirting. Though, hopefully, after this weekend that won't be the case anymore. The soft rumor of Neji asking me out filtering around helping that.
Every year, the twelve of us have taken a weekend away from the village to go do something other than work. It usually ends up being all of us camping near a river or lake and just spending the weekend relaxing. We're doing that again this year, hence picking out a swimsuit yesterday with Shika.
"Hey, Nej," I greet, returning his wave as he settles in front of me. "Are you excited for the trip?" He hums a yes, eyes not-so-secretly climbing my form again. His eyebrows scrunch when he gets further up my body, making me a bit concerned. Is there food or something on my shirt?
"Hello," Shikamaru's voice rings out as my eyes jump down, checking for a stain or leftover crumbs from the chips Choji and I shared. "What's up, Neji?" He asks, stopping next to me as he greets our friend. Shika's hand jumps up, tapping against my neck before his focus shifts back to the pleasantries Neji and him are sharing.
My eyes flutter towards a smug Shik, cockiness waving off of him. Why the hell was Neji looking at me so weird? Why did Shikamaru tap my neck?... oh.
Heat blooms across my face as I remember the dark hickey present on my neck. The very dark and very big bruise Shikamaru left behind yesterday.
"Anyway," Neji says, tugging me out of my thoughts and embarrassment. "Do you want to walk with me, Nara-Chan?"
"Yes," I rush out quickly, the heat on my face now from being flustered instead of embarrassed. "I... um... yes, I would like to walk with you," I correct, keeping my tone soft and even this time.
"Great," Neji says, sending me another smile. "I'm going to go greet the others. I'll come find you when we're ready to go, alright?"
"Alright," I murmur, smiling back at him. My eyes trail after Neji, watching him walk away to greet the rest of my squad and his cousin's squad that just showed up.
When my eyes shift back to Shikamaru, who's gloomy, arms crossed over his chest, and a glare shot toward Neji. I swear if he was any moodier a storm cloud would form over his head. "You're walking with Neji instead of me?" He groans, the heat of his glare still stuck on the other man.
"Ya. You're walking with Choji anyway. Why do you care?"
"I don't!" He snaps out, his anger pointed toward me instead of Neji. "Okay, maybe I do," he grumbles, eyes softening as he rolls them at me. "You're pretty blind, do you know that?"
"Why? Because I have more friends than just you?" I tease, laughing at his shocked face as I walk away to greet Shino's squad.
———————————
I nod along to the story Tenten is telling me, half paying attention as I look at the scenery. Most of the girls have switched to being carried, not because we're tired but because we're lazy and the guys all have a complex of wanting to be better than the others. So, Lee is carrying Tenten, Kiba is carrying Hinata, Shika is carrying Ino, and Neji is carrying me. Naruto offered to carry Sakura but that ended with him getting a bruise or two.
"So ya, I packed two swimsuits cause the guys are no help," Tenten grumbles, rolling her eyes before she playfully glares at Neji.
"If it makes you feel any better, Shikamaru wasn't much help picking out my swimsuit either," I tell her, the both of us giggling at the guys' incompetence. "I think you should go with the red one though. You always look good in red."
"Alright! Break time!" Shino's voice rings out, paired with a hand clap. The bug shinobi - like always - has declared himself in charge because he's 'older and wiser' than the rest of us. The real reason he's in charge is because Neji doesn't want to put up with Naruto and Shikamaru is too lazy to do it, but none of us are going to tell him that.
We all settle to the side of the path, a few of the guys decking into the forest for a pee break. "Are you ready to get down?" Neji asks, his head tilting backward to look at me.
"Ya, I should probably stretch my legs and give you a break," I answer, wiggling around on his back. He bends down a bit, shorting my jump off him. "Alright, Nej-man," I chirp, stretching myself out. "How much longer until we're to the spot?"
"I would say an hour. Maybe two depending on if we stop again or how many... issues Naruto has," He says, stressing the word 'issues' as his eyes bounce toward the blonde boy.
"That's not too bad," I mumble, sinking to the ground to sit under one of the trees. I rest my head against the bark of it, my eyes falling closed to give them a break from the sun.
     "Nara-Chan?"
"Neji?" I hum, slowly opening my eyes again.
Since I've closed my eyes, Neji has pulled out a water bottle. The top off and wrapped up in his hand. "When was the last time you drank water?"
"Uh..." I murmur, having to take a second to figure out the answer. "I don't know. Before we left I think."
Neji lets out a disapproving hum, paired with an equally disapproving look. "We have been out in the sun and the heat all day. You need to be drinking water."
"It's fine. When I'm thirty I will. It's not that big of a deal."
"Yes, it is. Dehydration is a big deal and not something I want you to suffer with," he lectures, sinking to kneel in front of me. "Now, open your mouth Nara-Chan," Neji says, his hand resting under my chin, tipping my head up. Reluctantly I snap my mouth open, eyeing the barely older man. He tips his water bottle, water-falling the liquid into my mouth.
"See? Isn't that better?" He mutters, his eyes locked on my neck again as he sets the bottle down. Neji's eyes shift, locking in mine. When I try to break the staring contest, he uses his hold on my face to put it back in place. "I'm waiting for an answer."
"Oh... um, ya. That's better," I finally answer, my breathing suddenly feeling more labored. Thoughts that would turn Neji red flicker through my mind for a moment. I guess Lee wasn't lying when he said his friend was planning to focus on forming our relationship this weekend.
"Good, now please excuse me," Nej says, squeezing my face gently before dropping his hold on me. "I will be back," he mutters, packing his water bottle back in his bag before disappearing into the trees.
"What the hell was that?" Ino shrieks, her sudden presence next to startling me.
"I don't know," I answer, my voice pitched and mind running wild.
"I don't either. What I do know is that Shikamaru is pissed off again," she tells me, shrugging towards the small circle of Shika, Shino, and Kiba a couple of paces away.
Ino is right. Shikamaru's eyes are locked on me, sight intense as he stares at me, occasionally glances at the spot Neji disappeared from. His arms are crossed too, jaw locked, and the gears in his head turning again. I was kidding when I was poking fun at him for being jealous. I'm starting to think it's not a joke anymore.
Dear Lord, this weekend isn't going to play out smoothly, is it?

If sakura and hinata were redeemed in naruto, would anyone even care? I feel as if I wouldn't care much, especially for sakura, cuz they've done too much. I think I would still hate them and some others wouldnt buy it.
I mean, say like Sakura was redeemed all of a sudden in boruto, would that be enough to overcome how she she treated other's throughout all the story? Especially Sasuke. Would redeeming her be enough to overcome how she harasses him all the time? Would it be enough to overcome how she chased sasuke and gave him a child he never wanted? Like she gets redeemed and goes "oops, I know you never wanted this but I'm sorry now and I'm a changed person, won't happen again." Like the damage is done, she's harassed him and chased him till he gave in, how can you better yourself after you've gotten what you wanted? redeeming can't reverse that damage. Or how she treated Naruto "sorry for being a bully and hitting you for no reason but I'm changed now, won't do it again." Apart from narusaku audience, which audience is gonna buy that? Like it's unconvincing she would get redeemed and then would apologize to naruto as it just so happens to be when he's hokage and she's got her prize Sasuke. Or for ino she gets redeemed and apologises for how she treated her, but it unconvincing because sakura has won Sasuke, so she and ino aren't fighting over him anymore.
Or for Hinata,"S..so...sorry n.nn....naruto-kun for guilt tripping you to marry me, I.. I.. I won't do it again, I'm better and changed." Like, he's already married to her and started a family. It's not going to mean much?
Based of the ask someone sent abt if it's possible Sakura and hinata could get redeemed. Like you've said in your reply, anyone can get redeemed, but I feel like it would be unconvincing or at the least, take a lot of work to redeem these two. This is just my opinion I could be wrong.
But that's the thing. If Sakura and Hinata were redeemed in Naruto, it would have meant something significant, and it would have contributed to the narrative and plot, because if the plan were to redeem them, then logically Naruto and Sasuke would be made to get together at the end. Look at what Sakura and Hinata represent. Two heteronormative selfish, entitled, unsympathetic, boy crazy girls who would potentially make into women who would force gay men to marry them to keep their illusions of love afloat. They don't give a shit as long as they get what they want, even at the expense of their spouses' well being or their own long term happiness. It was necessary for them to be written that way to facilitate the Brokeback Mountainesque situation in Boruto, no? What with the whole story being a love story and Sakura and Hinata as tools that were used to keep Naruto and Sasuke prisoners to their miserable lives, life of a shinobi who is supposed to live in the darkness, enduring all the misery silently. It's not the kind of world that will accept them, certainly not Naruto, someone who was systematically and institutionally ostracized, an orphaned, homosexual boy who is fated to be THE person in the world that will change it for the better. And this was the only way to resolve this story, in order for it to justify the new gen story, hence becoming the tragic ending that we hate. So the antipathy towards these ladies never got resolved. However, in order for their redemption to happen in the manga, a lot of things would need changing. Like the state of the shinobi world. A lot of things would need changing if Sasuke and Naruto were written to finally get together. Yes, the ending as it is now feels contrived. It is contrived. But it is not meaningless. The shinobi world has been established as a cruel world, where people don't get what they deserve. Look at Haku, look at Madara, look at Kisame, look at Neji, Sasuke, Naruto, Uchiha clan. And those who get it, don't deserve it. Look at Sakura, look at Hinata, look at Sarutobi, look at Tobirama, look at Danzo, look at village elders.
I agree with you that it won't matter if they were redeemed in Boruto. Boruto is not about the boys, they are supporting characters in it. Their story was Naruto and Shippuden. Which is over. And obviously, Kishi made it a point post Shippuden to keep Hinata and Sakura's the same as before, so it doesn't look like he is planning to redeem them. Looks like status quo would persist in the distant future.
However, it could have been done in Shippuden. And like I said in the other post you mentioned, anyone can be redeemed in a show and it is all believable as long as the writer justifies it within the story itself. I used the example of Orange is the new black, because it shows a whole host of complex characters, deeply flawed and yet realistic characters who were written to justly finish their redemption arc. Take Maria's character, a secondary antagonist in the story. Maria is quiet and shy as a kid but given her circumstances, she transforms into a take charge dynamo of a person, very impressive and self assured, she takes after her religious leader/drug trafficker father, who can charm the masses and lead them. She steals from her place of work, she cheats on her husband, she doesn't feel any regret about it. She gets caught and is sentenced for fraud. She works her way in the prison, but navigating the prison life brings out the worst in her, she eventually becomes the leader of the prison riot. She becomes a full fledged bully, a sadist, she has no ethical compass anymore. This leads to her stint in the max security prison, where she is made to eat the humble pie, she learns that life could get even harder, and the choices she has been making has been leading her into even deeper shit, away from her daughter that she loves so much, away from her friends that were her family in the prison. She joins the church, she makes amends to people she has harmed. Her redemption arc is shown throughout the last two seasons, by the end of which, she makes the least destructive of all choices, she apologizes to Gloria, her close friend whom she betrayed, and lets her loving and kind husband to marry the woman he loves, her husband whom she treated very unkindly in the past, despite him being so devoted to her. She agrees to let her husband marry another woman, a woman he loves genuinely, because for once, she thinks about her husband, and not herself. She commits a selfless act.
There were many instances where Sakura was written with a possibility to demonstrate maturity. The reason why Kishi wrote those scenes that way was that, when a character does something decidedly immature at a place or time where the opportunity was so damn ripe to do something mature, and doesn't do it despite everything that has happened before in the plot which had led to the current situation, the character loses credibility in the eyes of the audience. Audiences aren't foolish. Any good writer knows this. The way Kishi wrote Sakura's scenes, stresses even more on the fact that her character simply didn't evolve. Remained the same. That's what narrative motifs are about. This way, the reader is able to glean the meaning out of the scene, as intended by the author easily. It makes the impression the author wants his writing to make. Kishi made it quite clear that the reason why Naruto followed Sasuke was to save him and help him, to relieve his loneliness, to protect him. To be there for him, because he loves Sasuke and he KNOWS Sasuke reciprocates his feelings, even if he makes excuses to hide them, actions speak louder than words. As is evidenced in vote one especially. Sakura was written to chase after Sasuke for her own selfish reasons, where she simply ignores the need to know the truth about Uchiha massacre or any wish to actually know or understand Sasuke. Which Sasuke is clearly shown to understand about her. That's why he keeps telling her that she is annoying, just casually, an off the cuff remark lol. But when Naruto follows him, he gets very reactive, very disturbed, very distracted. Because he knows why Naruto is doing it, he suspects it. He keeps asking Naruto why because he wants to get confirmation from Naruto. Which he gets at the end. Point is, Sakura was shown to be selfish till the end, starting with part one, and then in the kage arc, war arc, just before vote two, at the end when she responds to Sasuke's apology as if she deserved it all along, and then asks if Sasuke would take her on his redemption journey. And then in Boruto and Gaiden.
Naruto on the other hand is shown as the one who is ready to share Sasuke's burdens and die with him in the same scene where Sakura tried to stab Sasuke in the back.
If you truly have conviction in your love, if you know that you love for the right reasons and if you truly care about your object of love, you would do things very differently from what Sakura did to Sasuke consistently in the manga. And all of it was shown to be done by Naruto. Who knows he loves for the right reasons, he would be a fool in love but not leave Sasuke's side because that's how much he believes, they resonated with each other even when they didn't know how to articulate it, they were both lonely. Naruto believes in his love for Sasuke and he knows Sasuke loves him, because he showed it to Naruto, with actions more than words. Naruto changes, he evolves in the course of the manga, he becomes better in every aspect, because he is constantly inspired by the memory of Sasuke, because of the motivation of protecting him and being his rock.
True love is courageous. True love doesn't hide behind empty words and excuses. True love justifies the words that have been said by the lovers. True love doesn't say the words and then take them back in the face of adversities. True love makes it happen despite the odds. That's the glory of true love. That's why it inspires us. That's why Sasuke was convinced by Naruto and not anyone else at the end. Sakura was given all the chances and suggestive realisations but still no redemptive action. Same with Hinata. She realises she is being selfish when jumping in the fight against Pein but she does it anyway because she couldn't help being attracted to Naruto and needed to make an impression on him at the expense of the whole village and Naruto's life, followed by getting trolled by Kishi when Sakura hugs Naruto in front of her. Still no redemptive action. Not even in the war arc when Neji died.
If you can make it believable, anyone can be redeemed, just need to justify it properly. And of course, it won't be an isolated event, it would influence the plot and characters that are connected with them.
Like for example, think about a character such as Oro. He was written to be dreaded, reviled, to cause shivers down the spine, and nervousness, to create a feeling of unease and anticipation, right? Because he is cruel and an evil genius, he is always a step ahead of his opponent, he is clever as a fox. But even he was redeemed. And no, the idea of his redemption was not just at the end when he supported the war efforts. The feeling of antipathy towards him went once he confronts the dead kages in the war arc and supports Sasuke. All through Shippuden, the audience is made to see how none of the adults in their world even attempts to understand Sasuke's predicament and given the amount of focus Kishi spent on making the readers understand Sasuke's tragic past, it makes you feel frustrated to see how no one in the plot tries to even understand Sasuke's side.
This was Kakashi.
Tumblr media
Even though Kakashi is shown to acknowledge that Sasuke has truly suffered given his past, he still doesn't understand him. And Sasuke's attitude towards him doesn't improve till the end. At best, he becomes close to indifferent to Kakashi at the end. It's all understandable because it makes sense, because Kakashi has already been established as a complacent and unquestioning tool of the shinobi system. He is emotionally inept and doesn't understand his own team members. And he thinks Naruto and Sasuke are just rivals while Sakura's love for Sasuke has matured, she really loves Sasuke, a girl who is kind and gentle. Lol.
This was Itachi, but who's surprised? Itachi is the definition of tool of the system.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
With Itachi, Sasuke tries his best to express his frustration with the system that was evidently so deeply unfair, he tried to explain where his anger came from, which is all very justified. He appeals to Itachi's love for him, and Itachi admits he was wrong to treat Sasuke as a blank canvas, as a kid who didn't understand the world. We again get to see yet another adult, someone who is this close to Sasuke, not understand Sasuke's predicament. Despite Sasuke's desperate attempts. Even Sasuke gets it at the end that there's no point explaining anything further to Itachi, he is brainwashed to the hilt. But he was still Sasuke's brother, and he did take the blame for being the reason why Sasuke was the way he was. But the audience is left frustrated nevertheless. After all this build up to show how cruel Danzo was and how the elders and Sarutobi were complicit in the massacre, we still see them regarding it lightly, as if it is an everyday event. And it compounds our frustration.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
No cost is big enough for the apparent safety of Konoha, as per Danzo, but we all know Danzo did it for personal gain, his megalomania, the power hungry despot in him who traded power for hate and destroyed a whole clan like so many stray animals. Danzo was basically a hypocrite. A lot of characters were, in the name of Konoha.
This was Sakura.
Tumblr media
After which she promptly made a plan to go kill Sasuke and attempted it.
And then there were others.
Tumblr media
No one really cared. Except Naruto of course, shown in kage arc.
Oro is the only adult who supports Sasuke and says something that all the sane audiences have been wanting for someone to say. Someone reliable, someone who would make sense of it, someone who would reassure us that we weren't crazy, that whatever we are feeling is justified. Kishi is not blind to it either, but he needed to set up this world as deeply unfair, and he was going for eternity apparently, lol, which is why nothing really changed much even after Shippuden. None of these characters were redeemed, the ones that never understood Sasuke.
Tumblr media
We are clearly shown by Kishi why it was that Oro changed his decision, he was not interested in participating in the war at all, his objectives were in no way benefited from the war. He was interested in Sasuke and even when he is reincarnated by Sasuke, he is still after Sasuke's body. But Sasuke had his own reasons to have brought back Oro and he tells him, Oro is intrigued. He is concerned so he tells Sasuke to not get embroiled, but Sasuke lets him know he can handle it and that he isn't a child. Sasuke shows agency. He is determined, there's a mature look to him, a certain calm strength of will. He realized what Sasuke has been through, he who understands Sasuke's motivation very well. He knew Sasuke went through hell, to be able to kill Itachi, and then he was told the truth about him, he was manipulated even by him, as he himself admits, but he can see that Sasuke has changed, grown. And this convinces Oro to help him, who is now invested in Sasuke's future, even if he doesn't particularly benefit from it. In the scene when all the dead kages are brought back, we are waiting to see what will happen with baited breath, it's a big deal. The crescendo is building and building, big credit to Oro who kept goading and goading, putting all those thoughts in words that we were thinking all along.
Tumblr media
"It's really not that complex a jutsu....". He tells it like it is with such dry wit and sharp sarcasm, he trolls Tobirama and how. Hahahah. He calls him out left and right and it is then reiterated by Hashirama. Full entertainment guaranteed. He unequivocally takes Sasuke's side and he doesn't have a hidden agenda anymore. He threatens to destroy Konoha himself lol. He threatens all the kages, all the leaders of Konoha, people who made very bad decisions. He genuinely wants to see the way Sasuke's wind would blow. And when he feels Sasuke's life is being threatened by Tobirama, he positions himself for retaliation and is ready to protect Sasuke.
Tumblr media
Sasuke resonates with Oro. Even though Oro was portrayed as a ruthless, mad genius, cruel and manipulative villain, whose past (childhood) was suggested to be equally unfair, but who has been hunting our favourite characters, harming them, torturing them, of course he was reviled by readers. But then, he is made to do the one thing no other adult could do. And it suits him very well. He is one who wanted to get all the victims of this unfair world together and make his own village, he was a non conformist, he was the outlier, someone who understands the ways of this world very well and takes advantage of it for his own benefit without regret, he refused to pander to the shinobi world's ways, he decided to make his own. It suited him to go his own way, being disinterested in war and to root for something/someone he was interested in. Sasuke. He puts his hand where his mouth is. Unlike others, he is not a hypocrite. He has seen wars too closely and he knows what it does to people. All the collateral damage. Sasuke is able to relate with Oro. This is what redeemed Oro, to whatever extent he has been redeemed to. Of course it doesn't make all his other actions alright, but it does soften our impression of him and we lose the edge of antipathy towards him.
And this was done properly. It was made to look believable. You are right, it takes work. The ladies' redemption doesn't mean anything now, in Boruto. It could have meant something back then, but Kishi wasn't going for it in any case.

Why NejiTen should be canon
Before I say anything, I can recognise that NejiTen is not canon, although I want it to be lol. Everyone has a right to their own opinion, so I ask that you respect mine, and if you want to challenge it, you can *politely* do that in the comments.
The major countering ships to NejiTen are: NejiHina and LeeTen, so I will talk you through why these ships don't work out.
First with LeeTen (because I don't want you quitting after the drama of NejiHina). Lee and Tenten are seen as very close throughout the series, though Tenten makes it clear that she finds Lee annoying and hot-blooded. This is the opposite to Neji, who Tenten seems to admire a lot, since she liked to train with him, and even put on lipstick in the manga for his chūnin exam finals. They seem like the perfect best friend duo, in my opinion. Romance doesn't need to be involved in every since best friend duo, there are enough of them already. In the Boruto series, Lee is seen with his son, Metal Lee. Many think that Tenten is the mother, due to the eye shape, and I think she could easily be. I mean, she's the only kunoichi in Konoha in the same age group as Lee (I think, I haven't fact checked yet), and the girl in his team. Tenten is probably the easiest choice for Lee's wife that Kishimoto could've made. However, if they were to be married and have had a son together, they would now be divorced. This therefore means, that if they had got married, then the relationship would not have worked out, and LeeTen would've failed. If they had not got together, then Lee would've married a different woman, and even if Lee then divorced that mystery woman, they clearly do not have mutual feelings for each other any more. They might have had feelings for each other, at different stages of their lives, but they either both grew out of their crushes or it was only one-sided to begin with.
Second. The NejiHina incident. I'm sorry, but I will have to go on for even longer than LeeTen, because some people don't understand that this ship is incest, and I'll tell you why. Excluding the fact that Neji had strong resentment towards Hinata for quite a period of time, they still wouldn't work out. Their relationship only evolved into *family* love, as confirmed by Kishimoto, just as Boruto loves Himawari, or Temari loves Gaara. What's wrong with a "big brother-little sister love"? Why must everyone make everything romantic? Neji cares deeply for his cousin, as does Hinata. She calls him 'Big Brother Neji', showing that she only sees him as her older brother. Besides, Hinata was so deeply in love with Naruto, she would've never agreed to the marriage. Moving on, a lot of people, from a range of cultures, some of which invite cousin relationships, think that Neji and Hinata getting married and producing heirs is okay. Some of them (purposely?) forget that the reason you don't have kids with your sibling is because it increases the chance of genetic defects dramatically. Although having kids with your cousin is legal (at least where I am), it still has quite a high risk. These people try and back it up by saying that the Hyūga clan would've wanted a pure Hyūga-blooded heir. Hm... Uchiha clan, anyone? Sure, this was common, but there are plenty Uchihas that are so distantly related that it would be fine to have offspring (such as Itachi and Izumi). The same could be said about the Hyūgas. Maybe Neji would've been their best option for a pure blood husband, but there would've been other choices, more people that were much further distanced in relation. I've got this far, and I haven't even mentioned another key fact: you know that Hiashi and Hizashi are twin brothers, right? Identical twins, to be exact. Lemme show you something: "Identical (i.e., monozygotic, or MZ) twins share 100 percent of their genes". You see that? It means that Hiashi and Hizashi share the same DNA. And this means that Neji and Hinata are genetically closer than cousins. They're actually genetically half-siblings. Hm. The Hyūgas are smart enough to figure out that it probably isn't the best idea to inbreed them, right? Well. That doesn't matter, because even if they overlooked all this incestuous evidence, there's this. Hinata isn't even the current heiress. If Neji survived the war, he would not have married Hinata in Boruto. If the Hyūga clan forced him to marry the heiress, and have children to keep a pure bloodline, he would've married Hanabi. Hanabi is the current heiress, so she would be the one married to Neji. Got it yet? Neji and Hinata would never have happened.
The last reason NejiTen should be canon: their chemistry. Tenten is shown to greatly admire and respect Neji, constantly calling him a genius, and she has blushed because of him in the manga several times. He believed in her abilities enough to sit under the practice dummy she was hitting with kunai. Neji comments that her fight would be interesting, showing that he thinks she is a good fighter. He is also shocked at her defeat, further proving that. In the first databook, Kishimoto confirms that Neji and Tenten trained every day for a month in preparation for Neji's chūnin match against Naruto. During this training, Neji reverse engineered and perfected the moves only reserved for the main branch of the Hyūga clan, mainly the Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms and the Eight Trigrams Palms: Revolving Heaven. You should also note that while all the other contestants trained with jōnin, Neji chose to train with Tenten. "During one of their training sessions, birds are shown flying in the sky and Tenten tells him that she is exhausted and can't keep going. Neji responds that he thinks he used too much of his chakra and faints. Tenten is seen running to him and asks him if he's alright." Tenten wore a different outfit to watch Neji's match, and as I said, in the manga she also wore lipstick. After his fight with Kidomaru, Neji remembers seeing Lady Tsunade with Tenten. In the Shippuden, during Team Gai's fight with Kisame, Neji rushes to Tenten's side when she seems to struggle in the Water Prison.
Tumblr media
In the image above, it shows the two finishing each other's sentences. They can communicate with little dialogue and know what the other is thinking with only one word. Tenten winks at Neji and invites him to go to the bathhouse with her, both in the anime and the manga. Later, after Neji's death, in the manga, she expresses anger, thinks about Neji and asks why he left her. In her memory, Neji doing the "nice guy pose," which has been performed in the past by Gai, Naruto and Lee. The pose signifies that one will keep their promise until death, as Lee states to Sakura during the beginning of the Sasuke retrieval arc after Naruto does the pose and promises to her that he will get Sasuke back. Neji doing this pose before Tenten implies that he promised her something that he intended to fulfill until his death. In the anime, Tenten holds her hands in a prayer and asks why he left her as she remembers Neji doing this "nice guy pose" to her, then she walks away crying and says that she's never going to forgive him. The implied promise that Neji made to her is not known, but it was significant enough for Neji, who tends to be stoic and serious, to use the cheerful and significant pose his "hot-blooded" sensei and teammate have used in the past. When caught in the Infinite Tsukuyomi, Tenten dreams of more mature versions of Lee and Gai as well as Neji being alive and by her side. She's the only person whose Tsukuyomi dream involves not only Neji being alive, but being with him.
They are shown constantly beside one another throughout the entire story, similar to the couples Asuma and Kurenai, and Shikamaru and Temari. While Neji is very formal and strict, he is shown to be comfortable around Tenten. He isn't shown to mind when she teases him or winks at him. He is also rarely portrayed as a character who apologizes to anyone, but he is shown apologizing to Tenten. In both the manga and anime, birds are present during the scenes where Neji and Tenten are shown alone together. In the manga, the only male character Tenten is shown alone with is Neji.
Other Trivia include:
Tenten's name and Neji's themes compliment each other. "Tenten" literally translates to "heaven heaven" in Chinese, while "Hyūga" translates to "place in heaven." In the new Chūnin Exams arc, Neji is shown holding two heaven scrolls with the characters 天天
Tenten's weapons shop in Boruto is named 忍具転転転, which directly translates to "Ninja Tools Turn Turn Turn." Furthermore, the characters "具転転" in the name translate to "revolving." Thus, the name of Tenten's weapons shop can be a reference to one of Neji's primary moves, Eight Trigrams Palms Revolving Heaven.
During the blank period, Tenten wears a uniform that includes a dress with a flame pattern similar to the flame in the Hyūga clan's emblem.
Neji and Tenten are depicted as compatible: the Databooks reveal that Neji is a Cancer and Tenten is a Pisces. In Western astrology, Cancer and Pisces are considered a compatible and harmonious pairing. The Databooks list Neji's blood type as O and Tenten's blood type as B. The blood type personality theory popular in Japan considers O and B blood types romantically compatible.
Neji, during his death, is portrayed as a Phoenix on fire. In the anime, Tenten utilizes the moves "Twin Rising Dragons" and "Exploding Dragon Strike." In Chinese folklore, the Phoenix and Dragon pair symbolize perfect harmony and balance between yin (Phoenix) and yang (Dragon).
Among the Konoha 11, Neji and Tenten were the only ones who were 18 years old during the Shinobi war, whereas Naruto and Hinata were 16 years old and the rest were 17.
Neji and Tenten share the same hairstyles as Hashirama Senju and his wife Mito Uzumaki.

What would be your top 5 of Naruto's couples that you dislike/hate?
What is your honest opinion of Hinata's Character?
*swings door open* Hi anon, sorry it took a minute but I'm here now!
"What would be your top 5 of Naruto's couples that you dislike/hate?"
1. All the pedo/incest ships ofc (especially nejihina and the sheer amount of people who will ship them is greatly disturbing to me).
2. SasuSaku, I'm sorry but in my mind I don't think Sasuke should've had a kid with everything he went through. This dude has literal trauma filling up his being and he literally leaves at the end of the series feeling he needs to seek out redemption. Shit, I don't think he should've been in a relationship at all with everything he was mentally dealing with. I mean ig in boruto he's stepping up, but it doesn't really negate the fact he was still gone from a good chuck of his kid's and wife's lives. Mans needed therapy before needing a wife.
3. SasuKarin and SasuHina, mans was willing to kill one and the only thing he's ever said to the other is "shut up", there ain't no chemistry in either of those!
4. NejiTen, I...just don't see the appeal there. It's such a popular naruto ship but I do not see the chemistry others claim is there. The way this ship is sometimes portrayed by people as it needing to exist so Tenten isn't single, because a female character being single is that bad? It comes off as them seeing Tenten as an accessory for Neji when that just...isn't it. It isn't that great of a ship to me and it comes off as people sticking them together because it was a man and a woman on the same team, which is kinda boring logic.
5. Any ship with Rasa, Jiraya, or Hiashi because those bitches don't need a partner, they need to either get their shit together or get kicked down stairs.
"What is your honest opinion of Hinata's Character?"
TBH I actually don't dislike Hinata as a character, I think she's had some good moments to shine but because she is a woman in naruto she never got more than that (thanks again Kishimoto). Now a better explanation: I don't think Hinata is a bad character at all, but I think her development became heavily stagnant when shippuden rolled about. I think her writing and character were better in OG Naruto because yea while she did pin after Naruto, she was still her. She still had noticeable potential and a personality that helped her character to be noticed by viewers/readers. She had a steady character development that was at least noticeable, but for whatever reason we almost completely lose this in Shippuden. Now this isn't to say she didn't grow stronger as a character, because through her newer jutsu, war arc, and The Last, we can see her gaining strength isn't the issue. But her character really doesn't seem to develop as it did in OG Naruto, if anything it almost gets a bit worse? It's almost like her pinning for Naruto and a depiction of her simply existing as Naruto's potential love interest gets shoved in readers faces, almost overshadowing her other characteristics. Again, I am not saying she is a bad character at all, but the trauma we saw with her genin years and the development she had is never really pushed more, never really expanded in a way that helps to showcase the Hinata she could've been. Also the love thing is an obvious fumble on Kishi's end because we all know mans can't write female characters or love to save his life (unless you're minato and kushina which in that case was just luck)

When you think about it, Sakura was kinda a terrible friend. There’s not one friend she didn’t emotionally or physically hurt (unintentionally or not). Naruto was her main target and I can see why people dislike her for it. She always made everything about her or about Sasuke.
She cut Ino off bc of Sasuke. Called her a pig and everything. She knew Hinata loved Naruto and even says it herself when looking at her being hurt but then go and hugs him during Pain arc (still to this day I feel like Kishimoto did her dirty bc he had Hinata almost die for him just for him not to do anything with it. That hug or moment should’ve been with Hinata. Kishimoto did her dirty so many times even in The Last). If any girl did that to Sasuke, Sakura would not like it at all. Not only that, she tried to emotionally manipulate Naruto (knowing again Hinata loves him) and gets mad when he didn’t fall for her idiotic plan. She left Kiba, Lee and Sai unconscious in an unknown territory to pursue Sasuke alone just to not go through with the plan. Not only did she put herself in danger, had to be saved by Naruto and Kakashi, but she also put her teammates lives in jeopardy.
I couldn’t stand her for all of these reasons and more. Her bad moments outweighed her good moments for me. What do you think of her? I don’t hate her but I also don’t like her in canon
Before I start this, letting everyone know, I'm not looking for a debate about my personal opinion on this character, been there done that not doing it again. Do not @ me with rebuttals or arguments about her. My opinion is set in stone. I'm merely answering this ask. If you like Sakura, keep liking her, you don't need me to like her too in order to do that.
Now.
I make it no secret that I do not like canon Sakura.
I don't like her on a fundamental level.
To me, her personality was extremely annoying, shallow, unnecessarily cruel at times and overall repugnant. She was selfish, mean and whinny for way too long in the show with no real reason that I found palatable. She had moments in the original and Shippuden where she seemed to turn over a new leaf and showed a glimpse of what she could have been, but then she'd completely undermine her progress with the behaviors and actions you described, anon, and I couldn't ever get on board with her. She was a lot better in The Last and for once I found her decent, but it wasn't enough to change my mind about her overall.
She's just missing key components for me to enjoy her character.
The Naruto world has a lot of flawed characters, people that did bad/morally questionable things or had abrasive and distant attitudes, however, a lot of them were relatable and sympathetic due to their tragic backgrounds or them being forced into a terrible situation, not excusing their actions, but their situations prompted understanding and empathy for what sent them down the path of darkness or hatred in the first place. Their story made it possible to like them as the flawed humans they were. Gaara, Sasuke, Zabuza, Nagato, Konan, even Neji, these are people that did bad things, but when you look at them in their entirety, past and present, there's a thread of understanding that makes your heart bleed for them.
Then, I look at Sakura's behavior, check out her past and present and I'm like 😒why tf are you so mean and nasty???? She got teased about her forehead as a kid sure, but had Ino there to help her work through it, then she got into a spat over a guy and ended a friendship...
I'm sorry but that does not garner any understanding or tolerance of her behavior from me at all. To me, the violence she visited on Naruto FREQUENTLY, the insults and selfishness was a part of her personality, not some lingering trauma that needed healing, or a defense mechanism she'd built up as a way to protect herself, she was just mean and that is why I found her repugnant.
There's no excuse for it.
Choji, Kiba, Shikamaru didn't treat Naruto like trash, there was no reason for her to do it other than her nasty personality. They were all around the same age so the 'she's a kid and didn't know better' is out the window. For all her flaws, Sakura is a very smart character, she knew how to be kind, she did it for Sasuke all the time. She was kinder to Lee faster than she was Naruto.
There's no excuse I'm willing to hear. I didn't like her behavior then, I don't like it now, and no amount of twisting words, bullying or arguing is going to change my stance on it (though many have tried, lol) I think if fans of her want to be upset with anyone, be upset with Kishsi who butchered her rather than the people that didn't like the butchered character he served them. He made her distasteful to a lot of people and never, imo, rectified it in a meaningful way and I don't think people are wrong for not liking her.
So that is what I think of her.
I hate canon Sakura, original through Shippuden, but I like her potential which I think really presented itself in The Last.
Sakura is my second most hated character personality wise, RTN Hinata is number one 🤭

Ignoring whatever happened in Canon, What Type of Romantic partner is a suitable partner personality wise, for each of your favorite Naruto/Boruto characters?
For example, regardless of Tamaki, I think the perfect match for Kiba would've been someone who was just as adventurous, hot-blooded and wild as he is.
Idc care what Kishi says, Kiba just isn't the type of guy I can see just settling down and living a mundane life for a long time you feel?
Imo I can only see Kiba with someone who can match his energy
Sorry this took so long to answer. I'm just going to do the Konoha 12 for now since if I added all my fave Boruto characters it would probably go over the post limit.
Naruto: He needs a cheerleader - someone who is always in his corner no matter what. They don't have to be loud like he is, but they do need a sense of humor, because his love language is corny jokes. Loyalty is everything to him.
Sakura: Sakura wants to be taken seriously as an equal, but she also deeply wants to be pampered and protected. Obviously she can hold her own in a physical fight, but a partner who can "rescue" her from the rain with an umbrella or give her breakfast in bed will make her swoon regardless.
Sasuke: Sasuke is kind of like a cat: if you chase him, he'll just run away and hiss at you. He needs to be the one who initiates things. Because of his trauma, he can act very hot and cold, so his partner has to be patient and let things happen at his pace.
Kiba: For him, I think the perfect match would have to be the whole package: His soulmate. His best friend. His eternal rival. Kiba has gone through every iteration of enemies-to-friends-to-lovers there is, all with the same person.
Hinata: Her ideal relationship has zero conflict and 100% unconditional acceptance. Her father destroyed her self-esteem growing up, so even as an adult, she will soak up compliments like a parched flower.
Shino: Like Sasuke, a relationship with Shino needs to go at his pace, because if a partner pushes him too fast, he will close up on himself like a pill bug. He'll open up faster for someone who shows through their actions that they admire and appreciate him. Small gestures like a good-night text go a long way.
Choji: Choji is helpful and kind, but he's not exactly a planner, so he shines best when he has someone to gently nudge him in the right direction. His ideal partner would be generous and sociable, the kind of person who could host a huge family dinner and send everyone home full and happy.
Ino: This woman NEEDS to be in charge. She likes to be challenged now and then, but for a relationship to last, her partner should know when to step back and let Ino be her brilliant, badass self.
Shikamaru: He needs someone who can match his intellect. The prettiest face in the world won't do anything for him if the person can't hold a good conversation. Like Choji, he works better with a partner who can take the lead on most things.
Lee: His perfect partner will be as much of a romantic as he is - no gesture is too big or too cheesy. They will match his energy and push him to be a better man each and every day.
Tenten: Forget flowers or serenades - if you want to impress Tenten, show her a clean apartment and a balanced checkbook. She is the mom friend to virtually everyone she knows, but for her romantic partner, Tenten really needs an adult. Her perfect partner is strong, reliable, and level-headed.
Neji: He would do best with someone as ambitious and hard-working as he is. Neji's ideal partner understands that work comes first, and they don't feel neglected because they're plenty busy with their own projects. While not mandatory, it would help if his partner was a clan ninja like himself who could understand the daily pressures he deals with.

Hmmm Hinata?
First impression
I loved her. I always did. I saw a lot of myself in her. I thought she was great always :D
Impression now
I love her. I always do. I see a lot of myself in her. I think she is great (;);))
Favorite moment
When she throws herself in front of Pain in a last ditch effort to help Naruto. I always thought that was incredibly brave of her. She pretty much was ready to die
Idea for a story
Neji and her have a moment after the Chuunin exams are over to talk about whatever went wrong with their relationship. Which also gives Neji a moment to learn how hard she has had it really, that its not like she is born on a golden throne or something
Unpopular opinion
Being shy is not weakness. If you hate her because she does not speak much or is nervous around many people then I'm sorry you just hate shy people. And ofc ever green, throwing herself in front of pain was not stupid but incredibly brave of her to do. ted talk in my mind always. That she is ONLY a housewife now is really fucking great actually (you dont gain value from only fighting)
Favorite relationship
So many! I love her relationship with her team, I love her relationship with Neji as a brother and Hanabi and I love her as a mom, but I guess I would have to shout out Naruto here, if you mean that romantic or not. He is not acting like she does nto exist, he does not act like she is just worthless. He supports her and cheers her on and SEES her. Don'T mind if that means as friends or not, dont care, but its precious to me.
Favorite headcanon
I hc that she used to run away from home a lot when she was a child that couldnt perform. That she would sometimes wish she wasnt around in the first place

I'd love to read a fic from you where Hinata is happily married to Naruto with Boruto and Himawari, but throughout her marriage she sleeps with Neji.
Hi! Thanks for writing and for reading my ffic which I'm assuming you did given your comment 😅 also, thanks for the suggestion.
That is a plot I've been flirting with in my mind, but I still don't have a story made for it.
Tbh, I'm not a fan of infidelity plots, I have to admit I'm a romantic to the core and I like plots where they can be conveniently (and perhaps "traditionally") together, no infidelity, no divorce, no kids from other relationships. But I also have thought this idea of portraying them in such a scenario since it is realistic as well, not all relationships are "perfect" and they don't need to to be worthy on RL.
About the infidelity plot, I have thought mainly of the morally gray area of the spectrum, the so called "emotional cheating", I'm sure Hinata would do so, her feelings for Neji being unavoidable though she is married to Naruto, yet I personally don't consider that effectively cheating nor as morally reprobable, I just think it is sad and unfair, for both parts.
But you said "sleeping" which is taking action on those feelings and effectively cheating, so though I don't like it I think is possible they both eventually surrended to their feelings and couldn't avoid it. It's a lame excuse perhaps, but the pull was this strong, stronger than their will and their better intentions. The guilt would be incommensurable, for sure. It would be a slowburn, I still don't know how it would end. I really like this morally conflicted plots, the analysis of their deepest feelings.
I think I will do it after all, though I have at least 3-4 other plots waiting to be written 😅 this more likely would be a oneshot or a short one, so it could be done sooner than others.
Sorry, I ended up writing a lot 😅 thanks for coming by! 👋🏻

Pls tell me your thoughts on rock lee I love the boy
AHH YES! ✨
Rock Lee. My son. One of, if not the strongest Shinobi in the entire village. Certainly the strongest in willpower. He is such a force of nature, and I absolutely adore characters like him, "joke" characters that yeah, they're funny guys, they may be a lot to handle, but damned if they aren't some of the strongest emotional workhorses in the book/show/movie/etc. And Lee is one of, if not the best (second maybe only to Samwise Gamgee of Lord of the Rings in my personal opinion as far as strength of will derived from love) examples of this archetype (maybe the incorrect term?). His subplots and arcs are my life force I swear. A character so driven by his desire to fit in, to be good and accepted by those around him whom seem to all have what he never can. To be loved and to prove that anyone can change if they just try hard and don't give up—call it cheesy, call it cliche, I call it an absolutely refreshing and incredible effort of love.
This boy who no one loved. This boy with no apparent family, no childhood friends, no real talent at anything except maybe eating curry and sheer willpower by the bucketful—Lee is inspiring in so many ways. To get where he was. In a sense he shares a kinship with Naruto, but the village had a reason, terrible but plausible I guess, to hate Naruto. He holds the thing that killed their beloved Hokage, that destroyed the village and took so many lives, but...Lee was just Lee. No horror demons, no curse, just what could be classified in a world like that as a form of disability. And they ostracized him for it, sheerly because he looked weird and couldn't keep up. I relate so hard to this. I'll try to keep it brief touching on his relationship with his team and Guy Sensei in specific, which is probably silly to say because of how important they are to his growth, but at the same time—your friends, family, classmates etc. can only push you so far, encourage you or challenge you in some cases, but you have to put in the effort yourself and Lee goes so far above and beyond effort. He becomes the greatest Taijutsu user to spite all those who said he couldn't, a hefty Fuck You to those unbelievers like early seasons Neji, who said he couldn't. He fought and fought to be seen and be good, and then lo and behold, this alleged failure, he ROCKED GAARA OF THE SAND'S SHIT. And yes, he still lost, but he had still done what no one else could do. He hurt a Jinchuuriki (been a long time since I've spelt that so rip I may have butchered it) who had never ever been touched before, never come close and, I think, inadvertently was one of the first gears to spin in turning this heartless sand demon vessel on to a new feeling: love. Pure protective and very human love. The Jōnin I think showed him first, stepping in to save Hinata's life when Neji was about to take it, but Guy stepping in to save Lee only to find him still standing (after having his arm and leg given sock-full-of-gravel treatment)...I still get chills. Guy saved Lee, still determined to fight despite being literally comatose. These things, the love of his team and the sheer force of effort that drives Lee, put those seeds of humanity in Gaara, Naruto and company more or less beat the rest out later, and I feel much of it is due to Team Guy's sheer closeness and (ik I keep using the word I'm sorry) humanity... To be seen as a failure to many, to lose, was not the end, not a death sentence—even though he had his limbs crushed to dust like freaking chalk, obliterated all his muscles opening the Gates ... AND THEN HE CAME BACK. This is also due to incredible medical Shinobi and their techniques but again, they could only do so much. They gave him the option, told him he could and more than likely would die or be paralyzed for the rest of his life with only the minutest chances of success, but he MADE IT, and he CAME BACK. Through his sheer effort and willpower he came back. And none of it destroyed what counts most to him: his (literally) unbreakable passionate spirit. His love for his village, for being a ninja, for his teammates and for life itself. Nothing short of death could break his spirits and even then I think he'd challenge the Reaper and win. Rock Lee holds my heart in the palms of his bandaged beaten hands and he holds it so gently and with such care. This is a metaphor but u know he WOULd.
Not only all of the above plot stuff, they're my favorite arcs, but just him. He. My son. My boy. Made of passion, forged with willpower, sharpened by adversity, charging headlong through the crucibles of life and death and coming out on top every time, even if it takes time and work no one else in their right mind would put in. He puts it in. He only gets better. Every failure is progress. Every injury is strengthening. Every success is life-altering, worthy of joyous celebration, worthy of tears and jubilation. No challenge can break him, no hatred can take his spirit, and he functions so heavily on love, on trust and hard work and comradery and will. His chivalry, his nobility, his strength of character as much as his strength of will and body. God I fucking love Rock Lee ಥ‿ಥ
idk if any of this is coherent lmao

naruto season 5, 6, 7, 8 & 9 ramblings + thoughts about shippuden
Tumblr media Tumblr media
SUCH. A. GOOD SEASON. HOLY SHIT.
SUCH. A. GOOD SEASON. HOLY SHIT.
Like boohoo Sasuke got kidnapped or he willingly left whatever BUT my favourite thing about it was how each one of the ninjas squared off with the sound ninjas like that was so cool ahhh
I loved all of their battle episodes so much gjkfdjgldf
Also when DRUNK ROCK LEE fought Kimimaro that was so funny and good omg
Back to Sasuke's though: I do think he is a bit annoying lmao I'm sorry but his backstory is so sad crying throwing up
But wow, that battle between Sasuke and Naruto. Poetic cinema. Chidorgi v.s Rasengan. Happy Pride etc.
Season 6
This season is basically a filler season since the episodes have nothing to do with Naruto finding Sasuke etc however, I still loved watching a lot of the stories. I genuinely really liked seeing all the other ninjas get some more screen time because I love them all sodjsidjjs
My favourite one is the one where Shino, Hinata, Neji & Naruto head out to find that really specific scent-tracking insect so they can use it to find Sasuke. I absolutely loved this storyline because Hinata got some character development and she actually took action for once lmaooo I also just love Shino and Neji in general they’re so cool I just think they’re NEAT sodjsidjdjjs also the way they went through so much to get that one bug only for Naruto to just ruin the mission with a fart was so ?&?!!!????!? like I laughed so much and I just know that 9 year old me would have loved this too
Also, I think liked that storyline a lot because Neji and Shino are two of my fav characters! Did I mention that I think they’re neat?
The Raiga Kurosuki and Ranmaru storyline was honestly quite sad….like bro…. the storylines/plots of characters admitting that they just exist to be of service to other characters because being connected to them is the only way they see worth in themselves is so….so…..hang on…who else cried slsksijdjs it’s just a reoccurring theme in this entire show and Naruto is almost always the one who goes ‘you can’t live for other people. You have to live for you 🧡’ like….so true king so true and then he’s like ‘I’m your friend now. I don’t make the rules. Let’s live our best lives!’ and I absolutely love Naruto for that 🧡
Season 7
Also just filler episodes lmao
'Laughing Shino' is definitely one of my favorite filler episodes because it's just so silly.
Tbh I did watch a good chunk of this season but I don't really recall anything super memorable aside from the episode I mentioned above.
Season 8
I just went through my netflix history and I literally didn't watch an episode entirely or I just skipped it fkdjsfkljds
Again, all just fillers
None of them seemed very appealing to me but maybe I'll go back and give a few episodes a chance <3
Season 9
I'm so glad this season was really short. The entire thing was basically a filler except for the last episode I think. I thought Gaara was involved in all of them but he was only really there for the last 5, so I ended up skipping the first half dfjksdlfds
I ADORED the fact that the entire ninja crew went on this mission and I loved that we got to see them work together (except TENTEN fkjdskfjlkds she didn't go and I honestly didn't realize until the very end when she was beating Lee up for not inviting her fjsdlkfjds) Tenten I am so sorry for not noticing that you were gone
Anyway, that filler was very entertaining and I was just soooo happy to see Gaara, Temari and Kankuro together. My most beloved siblings <3
Like the 'villain' was an awful guy but you could just tell this guy was not going to win hahaha
YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE WAS JUST *chef kisses*????? So in season 5, the Sand Siblings came to help the gang when they went after Sasuke to try and get him back. In season 5, each Sand sibling helped one of the Leaf Ninjas like Temari helped Shikarmu (teehee), Gaara helped Lee & I think Kankurō helped Kiba. Anyway in the last season, it was the Sand Siblings fighting these bad guys individually and when the Leaf Ninjas came to help, the way they split up mirrored the way they helped each other out in season 5 (like again it was Temari and Shikarmu paired off etc). Poetic cinema, the perfect way to end the series. I hope that made sense but it’s late and my head hurts kddjkdjdw
Shippuden Thoughts/Expectations
I know Sasuke and Naruto will eventually meet again, so I cannot wait to see that
OUTFIT CHANGES. PLEASE. HELLO PLEASE
Romance....perhaps? Like I personally don't get too invested in ships, but Temari and Shikamaru have mad chemistry so if tHEY DON'T GKFJDSGKLJDFKGJDFL
I feel like there will be more '''villains' in this season and I just hope they are COOL and not INSUFFERABLE like Kabuto. If I see him again, I'm throwing hands on SIGHT because I can't stand him
Super excited to know more about the mysterious Itachi and his crew!!! I have already forgotten what they're called, but they are very cool to me <3
Basically, I am eager to see how all of the kid's powers have developed during over the years and I am rooting for all of them <3
Thank you for coming on this journey with me dkjfieowjfe

Ok Naruto rant
Fans who like the cannon ships pls don't read further. Trust me you'll want to punch me by the end of this.
Um dont come at me I get it if u disagree and that's okay...ships are ships..just wish someone would rewrite the naruto ending...cos I invested my heart and soul into that show and the fact that it ended up this way makes me wanna cry.
How come Naruto ended up with Hinata?? Like it makes 0 sense. Hinata liked naruto ok understood. Did Naruto like her back? In a romantic way? NO. He thought of her as a friend! He was in love with Sakura since day one how could he just suddenly not be in love with sakura and just marry hinata? LIKE WHAAAT. I never liked Sakura and dont think she deserves Naruto either but Hinata and him is like a fanfic come true. It's not right. I mean c'mon. In my mind they should've introduced a better character into the Naruto universe who was more than just a 'love interest' and has an actual personality. Like have yall seen Boruto??? HINATA ISNT EVEN HINATA ANYMORE SHE'S PRETTY MUCH SAKURA IN HINATA'S BODY. LIKE HOW-? did her personality change so much? Sakura×Sasuke is also bs I'm sorry to all the SasuSaku fans but that shit is as toxic as hell. Marrying someone who tried to kill you multiple times is just stupid. Sasuke never showed an interest towards Sakura till the end and even then it's so subtle. Like you have to squint to see it. He should've ended up a alone or have died. Ngl I wouldve preferred him dying over Neji. It could've been an honourable death to save the village but NO. Srsly. Sakura and Sasuke pretty much suck and I have no idea why they were made mcs. Kid sasuke was ok , good even but Adult Sasuke yikesss. Kid Sakura I friggin hated her , Adult Sakura wasnt bad but she never ended up realising her stupid mistake of falling for a psycho. Naruto literally puts himself through pain to save his friends and his 'best friends' are actually shitty friends to him. I'm sorry but Naruto deserved better friends than them. Rock Lee and Shikamaru were better. I acknowledge that Sakura saved his life but are we going to forget the numerous times Naruto saved her??? Like that was the least she could do.

been in a Naruto mood lately trying to make a AU where Naruto is a Uchiha and Sasuke is a Uzumaki
how do you think that would go?
Sasuke being given the ninetails and Naruto having to go through his whole family and clan being murdered by his brother?
of course i want Shikamaru/Naruto involved and i feel like they would have this relationship where Shikamaru like i want to love you but you make it hard cause you make morally wrong life choices that is to say if this shaped Naruto in such a way to be the case
Sakura being swapped with Tenten and Tenten being a haruno so she gets to train with Tsunade like she wanted to
I want Sakura with scrolls
How do you think this would go? not swaping everyone just those three or 4 i guess. OH OH we could put Hinata in Neji's place and Neiji in Hinata's place too while we're at it. trying not to make anymore changes cause i wanna keep the story almost the same
Im just kinda asking if you think Naruto would try to get revenge because Itachi told him to we also could go the route of saying lets swap Minato and Itachi so Naruto's dad is his brother and Itachi is Sasuke's father but that's kinda weird to me but also kinda interesting? we can put that on the back burners but if you have something to say about it let me know what you think of these concepts when you can
WOAH OKAY lets get into it
This involves some morals and ethics discourse so bear with me here
I do think this is hard to predict, but, I would like to believe that although the context and your surroundings make a person, it's not all that there is. I think everyone has a core and Naruto, for example, is good and kind at his core (imo). So even if he went through all the traumatic events and had all the money the Uchihas/Sasuke had, I think he would still turn out to be somewhat good. I don't think he would seek revenge, but he would seek Itachi for an explanation, his goal would not be to kill him, but to understand him. This could lead to a different future, where if Itachi was met with compassion/understanding he would not just view himself as a potential sacrifice. But we can only speculate that since Itachi in and of itself is already a very complex character.
As for Sasuke, I can't exactly pinpoint his core in a word, but I do think he just seems like he would hold onto suffering more. So if he had Kurama, and he suffered the pushback from Konoha, he would still want to prove himself (like Naruto did), but he would also want to seek retribution. I think he would be much more likely to realize that Hiruzen (3rd Hokage) was a piece of shit who did not keep his words to Minato and Kushina. He would also want to make changes in society (my boy is a revolutionary cmon). Assuming he and Naruto are still friends and he eventually finds out the conditions that led to the Uchiha massacre and Itachi to act that way, when he becomes Hokage he would abolish the Anbu and make sure that certain injustices doesn't occur anymore.
All this to say, i think they would keep what makes each of them unique, even if the circumstances are different, and this would lead to their reactions to be different too.
Don't even get me started with Hinata and Neji omg, i could go on for days talking about the fuck ass hyuga clan, the whole servitude thing makes me so mad. But as much as i would like to I just don't see Hinata being as angry and vocal about it like Neji, although, i can see Neji even being from the primary branch of the family still being mad. Talking about cores again, i just think it's in himself to hate this form of separation and injustice. But since he would one day be the heir of the clan he could have enough power to abolish it sooooo [I'm so sorry this is probably not what you were hoping to get but i get heated just thinking about this]
and about switching minato with itachi, yeahh idk how to feel about that cause that would be a little bit weird but i guess it could work too? it's just i don't see minato committing mass murder

Spoilers for Lavender Letters Chapter 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love how we start this chapter with Hidan amused by Hinata's rage. I think this should be a staple for them as a couple, just saying.
Hidan just sees a little bunny baring it's teeth and ranting. >///<
I am also laughing a lot about how she just tells him everything, like?? My girlie??? She told the psychotic murderer about her fucking crush, I swear to god.
Who else is she going to tell? Might as well tell this man she *will totally never meet.*
Hidan doesn't read fan mail but he waits impatiently for Hinata's letters, yeah, he clearly doesn't have a favorite.
I don't think he ever denied she was his favorite. He was just never asked.
"I think that's a federal crime." And I bet my fucking arm Kakuzu was thinking "we're already in jail", so, sure.
I love Hidan just saying shit at Kakuzu.
OH MY GOD THE GROUPIE PICTURE LMAO AND I AM NOT EVEN SURPRISED MY THE DEADPAN "sacrilege" I'M GOING TO FUCKING DIIIIIIIE
XD I knew I had to address murder groupies at some point lol
"He was blunt, brash, and a bastard. And Hinata had to admit he might be her best friend." I'm literally so sorry for her but her misery is my entertainment. Also, she needs better friends. If the only person you trust with your feelings is a total nutcase, then maybe there's something wrong with the people around you, just saying.
When you are so shy and depressed that the only person you can tell all your feelings to and feel safe is behind bars.
"What a sad thought. Her best friend was a convinced serial killer. If she ever said that out loud… well, maybe she should never say it out loud." MAYBE SHE SHOULD??? It would be amusing as hell, I'm sure of it.
Neji would lock her ass in the basement.
I'm literally chanting inside my head "please make her worse please make her worse please make her wor-" because I think everyone has the potential to go to prison for capital crimes at least once :D But the idea of the cutie teacher killing the negligent parents is too good to go to waste.
>.> no comments on THIS chapter about that
They are weirdly cute, tbh. I don't know what I expected, but it seems on-brand to you. Even if Hidan is a psycho, he is so cute in his own fucked up, twisted way.
What can I say? I write shit that will tear you up and then make it cute.
"These women saw him acting up in court and wanted him to father their children, and people called him psycho?" This is such a good point, because I see people wanting to fuck Ted Bundy and Richard Ramirez and other fucking maniacs and I am like ?????????are you people fucking mad????
I wanted to make it clear that I am not supporting ACTUAL murder groupies here. >.>
Fictional murders have no real victims. Simp after them all you like.,

Why do you like the Akatsuki! Hinata au so much? Do you think it would be a better service to her character than canon? Sorry if this comes off as hate I'm really just curious
It's actually not really a favorite au of mine. I think it's interesting and could be fun, but I'm not very into it. I definitely don't think it would have made her character better (unless done very well).
It's one of the au's I like when exploring a more morally gray Hinata. I think she'd be willing to do a lot of bad things for a good purpose, such as training with the Akatsuki and carrying out their missions in order to become stronger and figure out how to destroy the branch seal.
I also think it could be an interesting way to explore her romantic relationships since her character would be so different. I especially like to see Akatsuki!Hinata with Sasuke and/or Karin.
So yeah, I think it's fun because you get to see Hinata being a bit of a darker version of herself, but she's not just evil for the sake of being evil. Yes, she's doing bad things, but she's doing it for her family (Neji and Hanabi) and so she can break an oppressive system. She's still the Hinata who cares and loves people, but she's a bit more willing to harm people who go against what she stands for. Not my favorite au ever, but one I think has a lot of promise.
And don't worry — didn't come off as hate! :) Hope this explains things to you.

damn i’m sorry for being emo on main but like. hear me out:
haku has a really hard time accepting konoha's pro-kekkei genkai culture.
it's the textbook-definition of self-loathing, but listen. haku goes their entire life believing people with kekkei genkai are disgusting, dangerous, hated, reviled, themself included. the self-hatred is so deep & intrinsic at this point that when they bleed on naruto during their battle, haku apologizes for getting their “dirty” blood on him. do you know how fucking insane that is for a child to be genuinely apologetic for getting blood on an opponent  while they’re fighting to death ???   like. take a moment to comprehend the insanity of that.
haku believes they are filth for how they were born. they look at sasuke at one point & tell naruto, “that boy also has a kekkei genkai. he must be hated and have a difficult and painful life.”
now imagine the first time haku steps foot in konoha.
ALMOST ALL THE TOP CLANS ARE BLOODLINE USERS. the hyūga are considered “konoha’s best.” girls flock around sasuke because he’s cool, he’s an uchiha, he has the sharingan. how many members of the main cast are bearers of secret techniques & bloodlines & praised for it ? who see their lineage is nothing but a blessing ?
do you have any idea how fucking badly that would mess haku up?
here is this new world where bloodline users are valued & sought after because the state finds them useful, yes, but they are also PRIZED by the community. they have clout & status. they are IMPORTANT. meanwhile, haku carries the same social status of a fucking dog back home. haku doesn’t know how to process this information. konoha is already a strange & backwards place; but this? this is too much. it’s overwhelming.
i don’t know exactly how haku would react to meeting individual kekkei genkai users, but honestly ? it probably isn’t great.
they’ve always believed shared persecution linked all people like them, they needed to believe this was how the world worked & they were not alone in this, but then they are thrust into a world where, no, some people are valued over others precisely because of their bloodline ? & yet even in konoha the yuki name is feared ?*  unbelievably painful. absolutely heartbreaking. morally brutalizing. spiritually degrading after a lifetime of pain, this might be the one thing that tips haku,  patient, optimistic, loving haku, over the god damn edge.
* i say the yuki are still feared because when haku is reanimated during the fourth shinobi war, i believe it is either a konoha or suna shinobi who calls haku a “child of that cursed demon bloodline” ( wording is translation dependent ). so i headcanon the yuki’s infamy has spread from yukigakure & water country over the years.
#i can't stop thinking about this for some reason? haku being forced to confront their anger with the world for the first time?#the world is cruel but cruelty is not shared equally even among the shared minority?#and then IMAGINE haku hearing about sasuke / neji / whoever the fuck else's beef with their place in society? HAKU WOULD LOSE THEIR MIND#especially with sasuke because? do you think you're? fucking? special? you lost your family? you're the only survivor? you were GIVEN#another shot at life that you could have chosen to live happily; cherishing each day with your friends because you HAD friends and people#who want to love you; you didn't HAVE to be a ninja or ANYTHING you didn't want tobe; but no. you became a ninja. you throw away bonds#and push the people willing to love you away. and for what. revenge against one person? when your revenge could be a long and happy life?#no. haku can't....can't fucking HEAR that. not from these soft-bellied villagers who have never known suffering and oppression as they have#it isn't a fair viewpoint. i know that but haku doesn't. categorizing on a hierarchy of oppression just means you hurt more people#but haku literally cannot comprehend that. i'm sorry. they can't. and i think it would take a long; long; LONG time for them to come around#and i think that! making friends might help that! but also. it's so culturally and personally engrianed that idk how long it would take#AND!!! THINK!!!! how ALONE this makes haku feel! even in a room full of people they are ISOLATED BY THEIR LIFE EXPERIENCES#culturally; emotionally; personally; even linguistically at some points????#i bet haku is unsettling and a little ethereal that first year or so in konoha. they're nice and polite when you talk to them but there's#this ineffable sense of distance. you can't put your finger on it. they are genuinely kind and nice but. they are not so warm as they once#were; not in the beginning at least. there's just so much bitterness and coldness in them. it's hard for them to open up and be close to#anyone from konoha for a long time. there's ... a measure of disdain. some contempt.some anger. these people know nothing; john snow.#there are children over the age of 13 who have never killed. what do they have to cry about?#oh and don't even get them STARTED on hinata ejbfkvkbbvjk... i think she's someone they could soften toward but that's real fuckin hard#the only people haku goes out of their way to really talk to that first year are naruto; kiba; lee; and mAYBE sakura but haku cannot stand#hearing her talk about sasuke u hjkbhbhj it makes their blood boil and they have to leave#sorry this got long i've just been thinking about all the hidden anger haku probably has for the first time ever???#haku's new affiliation: the Village Hidden in the Beef#❛ HEADCANONS.#edit: okay haku would also like shino because they like bugs and want to see all of shino's bugs.
