#coincidence? i think not #there are a few instances of characters saying “i have no choice” in the series actually #unsurprisingly. given it's also a series about the inescapability of fate. but this is in the same episode #also i am thinking about merlin saying “i have no choice” about letting mordred escape with kara #because he very much did have a choice but risking arthur's life wasn't an option #and merlin's loyalty to arthur in S5 very much mirrors gaius's loyalty to uther #and they are both a bit fucked up. gaius's more so of course #but i like to think it was a frog in a boiling pot situation #because uther didn't start out as a child-drowning tyrant surely #and like. what happened. #i'm intrigued by gaius and uther's relationship #toxic codependency #ep 1x06

Also how is Morgana both the best and the worst at acting
