i’ve just started appreciating horror as a genre recently so my favorites are rather entry level wah!! in no particular order:

suspiria (1977 & 2018) i know i just said no particular order but both of these films are movies of all time to me. who wants to be girl best friends like in that movie with me!! & i love both of them so much for different reasons!! i hesitate to call the 2018 version a remake because they’re so different tonally and visually. also would rec watching the 2018 version first because the 1977 version will rewrite your brain chemistry.

re-animator (1985) one of the first horror movies i watched on halloween night. herbert west is trans and gay. very campy and fun. someone inject me with glowing green goop rn.

possession (1981) this movie is actually a romance. okay but this movie hasn’t left my brain since i watched it a month ago..

train to busan (2016) i have a soft spot for zombie media and this is thee zombie movie of all time. all other zombie media take notes.

the lighthouse (2019) / the vvitch (2015) although two very different movies theyre by the same director and he has a very specific tone and way of making movies (see period horror pieces) that i feel safe grouping them together <3 <3 <3 i love them both & want to live in the worlds they make. also i think it would be funny for thomasin and thomas to interact
