Alot of people are misunderstanding and misrepresenting the “vote for biden” pleas, so allow me to break it down really easily with one of my personal favorite pastimes, Splatoon.

If you’ve never played, Splatoon is a game where you basically want to cover an entire map with your ink color in 4 v 4 groups. For the sake of ease, I am using the most evenly square map i can think of, Kelp Dome. (all of the splatoon maps are super even and symmetrical,  Kelp Dome is just the first square and flat map i can think of.)

The way this works is, You and your team of 3 other people are assigned a color. and you want that color to hold the majority of the map, or else you lose. You dont want purple to win, they are the opposing team. Your objective is to make sure team purple does not win. So you pick up your splattershot and get to inking.

Assuming everyone is using the same weapon and are decently good at the game, you would come out with something like this.

In practice it wouldnt be this clear cut(and judd would arbitrarily assign a winner at random), but hear me out. That is what a map looks like when everyone on your team works together to accomplish the goal. Everyone is playing the objective here. Every member inked two squares! Fantastic. We all did our part.

Now, youve done your part but you really hated it, who can blame you. You dont like the color Lime Green. You were hoping green would be like a forest green or more a true deep green and not this lime monstrosity you were assigned. You find another teammate has the same feeling, they hate lime green. Absolutely detest it. Did you hear what lime green said the other day? fuck that guy am I right? “ Fuck it,” you say “I refuse to play lime green! We’re going to play Sky Blue instead!” You and your teammate swap colors and sneer at the other two who are sticking with lime green. You play the match.

Whops! You and your teammate played just as good as you did last game! You covered your two squares! What the hell happened?? Well, because you and your teammate decided to swap parties colors in the middle of the election season match, youve split the ink. It became a two vs two vs four. Team Purple was banded together, they had four people covering their turf. Meanwhile you had to fight with Lime Green AND Purple to keep your Sky Blue on the map.

“Well why didnt the rest of Team Lime Green also change their colors?!” your teammate asks.

“well, why did you change yours?” a player from Lime asks you, “We were all Lime Green before the match started, What happened?”

You dig your heels and rattle off the list, noting all the terrible things Lime Green has done, both in the past and the recent present. the Lime Green team members nod and ask “Have you seen what Purple is doing though? Like now, in office? Lime Green has done some seriously gross stuff, we dont deny that, but you would need to convince 60-75% of the country to suddenly change their outlook on life within a few months. Lime Green is the only actual option we have at this point. We can change colors after the match, but right now we need to focus on beating purple right?”

You dont find that answer satisfying. You dont want someone who has done all the terrible things Lime Green has running your country. You dont want Purple either. Both options are terrible! Both colors are horrible and ugly. They're right though, sky blue cant win, not with just the two of you painting your hardest. So If your color cant win, and you are forced to choose between Racist Rapist Lime Green or Racist Rapist Purple, how can you morally choose?

“You know what? fuck this!” you say, tossing your splattershot to the side, “Why do I have to vote play either way? One of these disgusting colors will win anyway, why do I care who wins? I just wont play, theres no point.”

you leave the arena with your Sky-blue teammate, watching from the sidelines...

...as team Purple Slaughters team Lime Green. (in splatoon, the map would look alot less like that, and alot more like this:

“serves them right for not picking Sky blue.”  you say and your blue teammate nods along. Team Lime green has lost. Team Sky blue has ALSO lost. Team purple has won. You chose not to play the objective.

there are 15 Republicans running for re-election (and 5 R held seats that are open) each of them voted against Democracy, they're the ones mounting a filibuster against Democracy, their party is the one undermining democracy, focus all that rage on them, every day

finally, Joe Manchin represents a state that went 68% for Trump in 2020. Modern Republican politics is about nothing but "owning the libs" and "triggering the libs" they have no ideas or plans outside of "what upsets democrats?" or the imaginary Democrats who live in their head. West Virginia is like the most "own the libs" type place imaginable politically. So Joe wins re-election by being able to say "look ya'll I trigger the libs the most of ANY ONE!" and he's right. So when people are spitting nails enraged at him, thats what he wants he wants Bernie Sanders to say he'll support a left wing primary.

I think Sinema believes she's the same, that she's a Democrat who can only get re-elected in a RED state by showing Republican voters that she also pisses off the libs. I don't agree, Joe Biden won Arizona, Arizona has another Democratic Senator who is totally normal Democrat. However just like with Joe, the attention and outrage is what she wants, so pay her no mind, don't feed the troll, don't say her name or focus on her till 2024, and then give money to the most serious person primarying her.

So.....I just found out two of my basically a hippi friends is sort of a trump supporter now and I....I don’t know where to start?

Okay....so I live in Georgia but I used to live in Illinois and 3 of my friends up there are homeschooled hippish kids. you know vegetarian, vegans, doesn’t seem to trust vaccines but other times do. worked on pumpkin farm. really really good at tech and computers. a big fan of pokemon. very pro LGBT and all that jazz. I haven’t checked in on the sister yet but I checked with the guys a few days after the election and honestly while I wasn’t expecting them be in love with Joe Biden (He’s useful but lets face it no one is THAT enthusiastic for him....he’s better than trump but he’s no Bernie or Elizabeth warren when it comes to competency)....he was.....defending trump as the better canidate.....and I WANT to believe he is just joshing with me(he did trick me into believing he thought light was the good guy from death note instead of L).

but at this point its definitely not the case and I’m confused as all hell this happened...HOW did this happen? like he and his brother were basically bernie bro’s wo years ago the last time I checked and now they are defending trump?

I mean they brought up not trusting the main media because of the situation with the teens and the Native American that was clearly not researched enough before it was sent out into the world by any media outlit. and they brought up that trump has said he is against nazi’s and white supremacy but the media keeps asking him that question alot. even tried to use the good people on both sides bit to defend him by saying he did say nazi’s were bad before even though trump has clearly floundered n that question. even the north korean thing O.O

My sister got heated trying to understand how they feel about trump’s relationship with sexism. even the grab her by the pussy statement or the rape accusation by trumps ex wife or the many lady’s claiming it...or even the confirmed cheating scandals about trump. Like...I get that they said he is innocent until proven guilty...but they wouldn’t even acknowledge that its even having the accusations is sketchy even though they were creeped out by it two years ago!

they tried bringing up a kid who liked touching joe’s leg hair or the hair sniffing which IS creepy no doubt but not to the level of the guy who admitted he would go to the changing rooms of the teenagers in his pageants with the inspecting excuse. or talked about another man’s 14 year old daughter right infront of him. or talks about his own daughter like that.

I mean clearly there is some sexism thats creeped in because their instinct was to call my sister cuckoo and crazy or irrational because she got emotional and raised her voice when she said they them making light of the subject of the rape accusations against trump with no concern over how Trump’s history supports the lack of respect for the female gender as equals, makes her feel like if something of that nature happened to her they were letting her know she can’t trust them enough to let them know about it.

and while I get being shouted at can be uncomfortable.... is it normal to completely dismiss the point the other person was making just because the voice was raised? like somehow getting emotional or raising the voice can be seen as completely invalidating your point?

but they have been raised by a amazingly strong lady who is kind and creative and over powered medical issues and a kind smart father.

but now they are telling me that there is voter fraud in Georgia? when the REPUBLICANS are basically the ones in charge but still say there is no voter fraud? when we have had multiple recounts and everything matches up?  when all the other states including Georgia have knocked down the voter fraud ideas themselves? like voter SUPPRESSION I can TOTALLY see happening. but they brought up the video that even fox news didn’t see as a thing. and they had even admitted they haven’t been keeping up with the news as well as they should.

I’m SERIOUSLY worried about these two. like one of them admitted that he might be in a bit of a echo chamber by getting his news from the internet so there IS hope...but like..........are other people baffled?

okay so thoughts....I generally dont like the party system i think its ridiculous the system was not designed for it, and its now more about loyalty then the actual candidates. I also am really hesitant to put another strait white male in the oval office, especially one thats from “the lucky few” I.E. the smallest voting generation in the country and also the one that already holds the most positions. That being said, at this point its really anyone but trump and I think bidens got the experience to turn things around. 

I AM IN SCHOOL I CANNOT VOTE. I am relying on all my older friends, followers, neighbors, and community members. To make an educated decision that wont further degrade the once hopeful future my generation awaits. Please if you can vote VOTE the kids are relying on you!

I also have a very big problem with how the dnc is running this election since people honestly think Biden won’t even make it to the inauguration meaning whoever is elected VP is probably gonna end up as our president at some point. Also, this is just the most recent unbelievably stupid choice democrats have made in a series of very bad, very stupid decisions. First of all, Kamala Harris is widely hated by a fuck ton of people, a sentiment that crosses party lines. Progressives, republicans, conservatives, moderates, and many democrats hate her and there are A LOT of Californians (we’re almost always a solid blue state) that don’t like her and she’s one of our senators... like maybe thats why so many “blue” people don’t like her here because we have to deal with her all the time, but still not a good move. 

Democrats needed to chose an actual progressive as VP if they want to draw in all the people that voted for Bernie and they just... didn’t do that??? Majority of people that approve of Bernie don’t approve of Kamala based on policies and their track records... It’s just so dumb lol like progressives and moderates alike aren’t gonna be impressed by the fact you elected a woman of color if she has shitty policies. It’s just so clearly performative and now the party still expects everyone to praise and vote for their candidates???

Mayor Pete Conspiracy Theories

So one of my frustrations with the left is that as much was we (rightfully) complain about fake news, conspiracy theories and misinformation that permeates the right, but we don’t ever seem to be like “hey, should we work to prevent ourselves from falling for the same tricks”.   So ok...lets talk about Mayor Pete and Iowa

Background and Context.  

Basically the US primary system starts with the Iowa caucus which is...too long and complicated to explain here but basically just imagine the most needlessly convoluted way to design a voting system and thats pretty much it.  Iowa doesn’t really matter in terms of delegates but because it goes first, so who ever “wins” Iowa is given a ton of free media attention and it ‘proves” that they are a real candidate who has a chance of winning.  In 2008, Obama winning Iowa was a real game changer.  

So in this race, the front-runner has been the conservative Democrat Joe Biden, who is competing with other centrists such as Bloomberg, Klobuchar and Mayor Pete, while the progressive “lane” is split between Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren.  The assumption was that Iowa was going to be won either by Sanders or Biden, with everybody else fighting for the 3-5 slots (except Bloomberg).  If Biden one Iowa, it would affirm him as a strong candidate and clear leader of the centrists, and if Sanders won it would show that the progressives had some real staying power.  Then two weird things happened.

Number One: The Shock 

Biden didn’t win Iowa.  He didn’t come in second in Iowa.  In fact, he came in fourth, getting about 15% of the vote.  The centrist who did best was in fact Pete Buttigieg basically tying with Bernie Sanders, each getting slightly over 26% of the vote.  Elizabeth Warren got 3rd with 18% of the vote.  This was on its own, a massive victory for the progressives.  Not only did Warren over-perform, the front runner was in 4th, and the centrist wing of the party was clearly going to split.  See Sanders likely can’t win the election unless he 

A) Unifies the Progressives

B) Convinces moderates to come to his side

C) The Centrists don’t unify

And while he might be able to do A and B on his own, but he has very little control over C.  If Pete drops out and Biden holds unto his base, then Biden might still win the primary.  But if Biden’s base is split between Pete and himself, suddenly Sanders (or Warren) has an opportunity to emerge victorious.  So its actually great for Sanders that Pete did well, because Pete is just strong enough to hurt Biden...but he can’t actually compete long term  See Pete’s Base is.....super white.  He has basically no Black Support, which is where Biden’s base is.  And you kinda need African American voters to win the primary.  Some are willing to listen to Sanders or Warren but not Pete because...his record on race isn’t great.  So Sanders not only is surging, but now his main opponent (Biden) is fighting Pete rather than him.  

So what is the conspiracy theory here? 

Number 2: The Fuck up

Iowa went...badly.  Basically the app which allowed each precinct to count the votes fucked up so for almost three fucking days we didn’t have any official info on who was winning?  And this is a massive display of incompetence and ineptitude on the party of the Iowa Democratic Party, which reflects badly on the DNC as a whole.  Counting the votes has proven to be a massive cluster fuck and in current “final count” it looks like Pete won Iowa by .1% over sanders, and thus won 2 delegates due to....a really absurd series of events it takes too long to get into.   

The fact that we couldn’t get the count for a few days did fuck over Sanders because it blunted the narrative of how well he was doing and downplayed the narrative of how badly Biden is doing.  

For the record, it really fucked over Elizabeth Warren, whose overperformance in Iowa was basically forgotten.  

Critically, before anybody new the results, Pete claimed victory, which prompted Sanders to also claim victory.  Now it turns out once the votes are counted it either looks like Pete was right, or Sanders was right by such a small margin that it is understandable that he thought he won.  Again, we are talking a .1% difference here.  

The Conspiracy 

So the logic of the conspiracy by some Sanders stans is this that Shadow, the company who made the app...

Wait I need to stop here, the company is literally called Shadow.  There is no fucking way that it is a conspiracy because they wouldn’t call themselves shadow.  The idea is that because Pete’s campaign had paid Shadow $42,500 for software rights and subscriptions in order to make it look like he won, with the help of the DNC.  

I keep seeing a lot of Sanders stans say that hte DNC is trying to screw Sanders over again by helping Pete, just like they did in 2016 with Clinton.

Why this is stupid

So in 2016, it was a two person race between Sanders and Clinton, and Hillary was clearly the favorite of the DNC.  Here though....why the fuck would the DNC want to fuck over sanders...by helping Pete?  Wouldn’t the DNC want to help Biden, the guy who has an actual chance of winning the primary?  Helping Pete only helps Sanders, because it allows Pete to do well enough to weaken Biden in in the South, where he is much stronger.  Honestly this is basically a double victory for Sanders

Like if Warren fans were bitching about this, it would make sense.  Like it is still a conspiracy theory with no evidence, but at least Pete doing well has fucked Warren over, but Sanders fans like....two delegates aren’t going to matter, because Pete is by far the weaker foe than Biden.
