fwiw that rude commenter is a transphobe, a post a few down on their blog is real blatant (and in that vein I think their comment was less a judgement of your anatomy and more saying Charlie is 'too' muscular/angular)

It's rude and out of pocket REGARDLESS but I also think you're a little hard on yourself! You even said, you hadn't illustrated exactly what you were after with her, and you hadn't intended for a collection of doodles you happened to still like to blow up. You're entirely right that we should all be drawing more than conventionally attractive people, but idk. It's a process and you're a great artist who's working toward it! Don't feel like you have to answer this btw I mostly wanted to let you know that commenter was a double idiot and started rambling. Hope you have a lovely day!!

oh absolutely! i have a feeling you're right abt what they meant considering i saw the transphobic comment they made a couple posts down on their blog lmao but i wanted to add that part anyway. and i appreciate your words a ton, but dw im not hurt or upset! i get a lot of weird comments all the time, i just wanted to use that one as a platform to bounce off of a thought ive been having lately. i wouldn't post a negative remark like that unless i wanted to use it for something. the actual comment was mostly irrelevant to the point i wanted to make, which is also not meant to be super serious, just a thought soup to stir around

and i mean my interpretation of my art as purely objective, i think its important to think critically about yourself and in general. from an objective standpoint, i dont believe the way shes drawn is too out of the norm and is fairly tame (disregarding her ox/bull parts lol), thats basically what i was aiming for with that section. i constantly get stuck in a rut without improving by much because im usually just drawing to doodle after a school day and not rlly with any purpose. i tend to keep drawing the same things out of habit and it gets stale really quickly. so i know my faults and im rlly looking forward to getting better!

also rq, what you said about how we need to draw more than conventionally attractive people- while i do agree with that, in my post i was more saying its important for people to be more open-minded about how they view gender expression and attractiveness in general, myself included! i dont think how i drew charlie was very revolutionary, but ive seen so many tags speaking otherwise. which is either reflective of how small the bubble is for whats acceptable or maybe i have a skewed perception of things? for example if having a bush or something is gender envy we need to look at ourselves. bush is so normal to me. (which i dont if thats what even drew ppl to it BUT. just as an example). would those same people say the same if i drew a very fat woman with a beard, unibrow, etc.? i have no idea. but i have had my eyes opened so many times before its incredible. little things ive never thought about before through new perspective. so thats why i want to encourage it too. i hope that makes sense. thank you so much i hope you have an equally lovely day!! 🫶🫶

hey there! ive finally made an art blog! im going to try post more just… stuff, as usually i reserve my art posts for either special occaisions or specifically public-oriented works, and it kinda bums me out to not just have a place to dump my art anymore, so here you go!

who are you?

in hopes of providing some relevant lenses to view my work through, ill give some personal details here. if these lenses dont suit your interpretation of the work, thats alright! view as you please, though i do still think these will always be important context in said viewings.

my name is zelda (she/her) and im a queer jewish 20something who struggles quite a bit with illness both physical and mental.

ive always been kind of enthralled by impressionism and what it really means to use suggestion and spirit as a stronger tool than portrayal and form.

i have a particular draw to fantasy and magical aesthetics, especially the world-building within.

i am a serial overthinker, and tend to see alot of meaning and symbolism in things that plainly do not have them.

while yes i am jewish, my relation to faith is complicated. if you see me type “god” im using it in a turn of phrase with no meaning. if you see me type out “g-d” i am being religious. yes i know thats not how its supposed to work. its meaningful to me.

what will you post?

do you take commissions?

yeah, usually. im not really at the point where i have to close and open them for availability reasons, so shoot me a dm and ill usually be able to give you a response pretty quick on.

price tends to vary by project, and i always set $20 per hour of canvas time as my baseline, but generally simpler stuff like limited detail icons and emojis run in the $20-$30 range, while fully detailed halfbodies tend to run in the $40-$50 range, and fully done fullbodies range more $70-$80. aside from that, backgrounds are a little too context dependent to put a full price estimate on and extra characters can and will cost extra.

usually whatll happen is after laying out the basic price range we’ll talk, and ill thumbnail until we have smth we can agree on, and once weve got an idea of what were going for ill give an estimate that ill try to stick close to, barring any major changes or complications. from then on ill try to send updates whenever i work, and then when im relatively close to finished ill ask for the payment either through paypal or cashapp, after which ill send on the finished piece and any expected variations. in some cases, this may be changed, and payment may be done half at the start, and half when relatively close to completion.

I've been drawing since i was a kid - as my grandma likes to tell it i would sit quietly at the card table next to her and make her draw with me because "everyone can draw, grandma". Sometime around high school i got it into my head that i needed a 'class' to understand anatomy, as if it was just this magical thing i would suddenly understand. (college was useless) The truth is i didnt start getting better until recently, when i gave up trying to 'learn' anatomy and just started studying bodies. That sounds weird, but i don't know how else to describe it? If someone told me ages ago that i could learn anatomy the same way i self-disciplined myself into being able to pull out computer science concepts at the drop of the hat, i feel like i wouldn't have wasted so much time but anyway...

(with one exception that i still like which is a poster on sasha bees' wall hey bees if you're reading this) 2016 ish.

THEN 2017 i lost my job, moved away from pittsburgh, missed my DJ friends, watched a documentary on netflix about st*ve aoki (after watching everything vaguely DJ related on the streaming service lol), and the aoki drawing era begins: freebooter4ever.tumblr.com/archive/tagged/steve%20aoki. I joke that the way I learned anatomy was by becoming obsessed with a DJ who contorts himself into very strange positions and has photographers that take photos of him from LITERALLY every angle and who tends to walk around half naked an unusually large amount of time but like...that's literally what happened. Not that im saying you have to start drawing half naked DJ's...just find a subject you dont mind drawing hours of studies from and it makes it a lot easier.

When I'm doing 'studies' I tend to do two separate drawings. Initially I literally just 'study' what I'm looking at - I put it in photoshop and trace the lines that I see. I don't OUTLINE it, there is a huge difference. A lot of times the lines that stand out are not the outlines but rather a dominant shadow or sharp edge. After I feel like I've got a good handle on it, I do another drawing of the pose freehand. Then I take the original photo and put it underneath that drawing and check where I've messed up. If I'm completely off I throw it away and start again, lol. If there's a few errors I fix them. More and more lately I find that the freehand drawing is fairly accurate with anatomy unless it's an unusual or challenging perspective. Those study drawings rarely see the light of day. I just delete them when I'm done because i didn't have an...aim...? For the drawing. They just were to learn.

The doodles that I post on here? Some of the simpler ones are practice sketches from gifs - i will have a gif running next to my drawing and will try to draw what i see, freehand. Some of the more complicated drawings/portraits are from photos - but there's usually something i see in the photo that i want to convey? Like light? or a specific part of anatomy? I dunno, i make shit up as i go.

AND THEN there's my favorite, when i have done all this practice and i can do shit like drawing characters from my imagination. Like kenny hugging his cat. These don't have any reference - im just relying on my memory of anatomy i've drawn in the past.

I dunno. Dont let bad anatomy get you down, just keep trying. My anatomy hero - a sculptor ethan idolized and i idolize by default - even said himself that he doesn't feel like an 'expert', and he's in his 40's and has been doing this shit for decades. Just draw!!! The more you do it, the more you'll start to see what you like, and how you can make it how you like even more. I still think my anatomy is bad, im still embarrassed by it. But i also know i've gotten better because i can see it now.

ANYWAY this is long, im exhausted, i have to go to bed now :) and i was serious about scheduling an abs livestream. Maybe this weekend if im ambitious.

IT’s THEM. THE BETCH. Ikari of the rp dm’s story! or the rpd!universe i guess cause thats what ive been tagging that stuff as lmao. On the left is thier “god” form and on the right is thier usual appearance. I do think that they would normally have black hair, but i wanted to make a large distinction for how i was drawing them so :D

this is mainly me trying to draw out an actual design for them so if it doesnt stick dont be surprosed but i am kinda satisfied with the results XD it was a bitch trying to look for actual quotes from the actual rp though, a lot of the situations they’re in dont exactly warrant some of these expressions.

//spoilers for some rp lore events below! idk why this matters i dont think im ever making like an offical comic for what happens but eh

Comments on lore references of drawings:

1; upper left: mentioned //and spoiled in another post that they would eventually be given the role of god.// the problem is when you’re forced into the role, in a world you consider not yours, unable to change it...and you now have to protect it. Because you live there now, and the people you care about live there now.

2; uppser right: they’re actually decently stacked in money. where’d they get it from? ask them yourself. (they steal shit. a lot of shit.)

3; lower left: Appearance of a god form can be anything they want, but often representative or defaults to personal preference. But to be honest while doodling there was this design i thought was HELLA cool but i deleted it //sob// so i incorparated part of it here,which is thier “wings” (better demonstarted in the upper left). they’re wearing a shimmering cape that “bends” to form wings. I wanted to make it more indicative that they’re...”holier” ? whatever, that they’re now god or something, so i decided to add the things around thier wrist but it also doubles as them seeing thier role partly as imprisionment.

also, why the red eyes? i wanted something to make it pop out, and i wanted to make thier eyes a dark brown so it matched out. though, there is that whole background element of not exactly human so :D also, why are one of thier ears white in the god form? they’re not, actually. but i thought it would be too awkawrd to fill it all in as black, so i left it unfilled

4: lower right: i came up with the idea of a revival book wayyy before that plot came out on the dsmp, so don’t string me up for that. But yea, i figured i’d try and put SOME kind of design on it. I’m thinking that within lore of the rp, it could probably be used more than just revivals, but the characters pretty much only ever use it to revive people :p To describe what’s on the cover, it’s a snake eating itself with a chaos mark in the background. oh yea. also YAYY I FINALLY MADE CHARCTER THAT HAS LIKE. EARS THAT ARE KINDA BLENDED IN WITH THIER HAIR OMG FINALLYYY. im so happy. also they are like. built like a twig they have no muscle whatsoever somebody feed them :(

other things on my mind abt them because i feel like it:

-Admittedly for how appalled they are at other people’s actions, a lot of what they do can be calling the kettle black, but oftentimes they are right that many people tend to get off scot free while they alone are punished (often unfairly in thier eyes)

-they dont take many things seriously and tend to miss out on....the tone of the sitaution, but this is often caused by them losing intrest in a situation, wanting to stay away from a situation, or being caught up in thier own turmoil/thoughts to display empathy or sympathy for others (...often due to thier friends or them being indirect or VERY direct victims of whatever is going on. often, but not always.)

-they enjoy making bar drinks and thinks being a bartender is cool. they have great difficulty memorizing recipies but they are trying thier best

okay this post will Definitely work this time

the text under the cut is from the original version of this post, which itself is from a train of thought that started in its tags before swiftly spiraling out of control

im tagging this as doodles not bc it didnt take much effort (it definitely did take effort and time to try to get the anatomy to work before giving up (hence the note)) and i did have fun but bc i like. i didnt feel like. invested? i usually draw characters bc i think a lot about them and i want to express the things i think about them or that i think are fun or engaging. in fact, there are a lot of characters i have a lot of thoughts and ideas about that i just havent gotten the chance to like deliver on yet. but in general, if its not me putting a bit of me or my experiences in the character, its me trying to emphasize the character visually in a way thats fun for me and diverges from the base material (because it's fun) using my knowledge and interpretation of the character. the only really like "finished" design i have up is goku so ill use him as an example: hes a kind and friendly person so i wanted him to feel approachable but hes also a very strong person as well as having a strong will and i wanted that to be Felt so i ended up giving him a soft-ish but rectangular feel shapewise. rather than the like bodybuilder-y.. build, in terms of physicality, i pulled a bit from strongmen. theres more but this isnt the place its not his post but i'm saying all this bc the choices i made were based on things i wanted to convey both for goku himself And in relation to other characters, who i've been building up in my mind alongside him this entire time with the hope that they bounce off of each other in a fun, varied, but ideally not jarring way. all of this to say, there is basically no data on android 21 in my brain. when i draw her, most of her design flourishes are moreso working off of the twins, who i have at least vague ideas for, and traits related to androids in general (i havent gotten to 16 or gero yet so i dont know if there are traits i want to be similar or contrasted by 21, for example) than like. anything on 21 herself. my understanding of her is probably simultaneously one of my most surface-level of all the characters in the series (i dont have fighterz and i do not want to watch the story right now bc if i do get fighterz i refuse to pay for goku and vegeta blue but its going to hurt my soul to basically replay the story if it doesnt like make me explode so im choosing to stay blind) And the most like potentially warped bc outside of when people play her in tourneys i watch (and i dont even really like watching lc21 so i only see base roster her when i do) all i have to go off of is fandom wiki (unreliable) and any art ive ever seen of her in my life. all of this to say, theres nothing wrong with drawing a character just bc the design is fun but i've been thinking so hard and having at least some form of familiarity with the characters ive been drawing these past few months that Not being able to do that feels really weird. i guess i didn't feel like using my main art tag bc i didnt feel like my heart was really in it even if i did think about what i was doing bc i just didnt really think very hard conceptually. but i guess i Should talk about the design so

while simplicity is definitely a strength, i wanted to see if there was something different i could do. this isnt actually reflective of the order and way that i thought things through bc it Was a bit up and down and all around but essentially i saw that the sleeves from her human form stayed along with her earrings and i was like. what if it was a bit more. i actually went for the shape of that like crop top to the right Before i realized it was similar to her dress bc i just thought the shape was fun but i thought it could be interesting for the checkerboard pattern to still persist somehow. the bracelets i made more like jangly but i think it might have already been like that without me noticing. i guess where this was going is its been a while since i worked with a character Without dedicating like possible months of brainpower to it and .. im talking in circles and its late and i didnt get a lot of sleep i should probably stop

pets?: ive got two cats!! Michael is pretty snippy towards people because of his former home but he snuggles w me a lot :'> and Mr. Gatsby is a Leetol Bastard who will nap with you and then wake u up by dragging a single claw near ur eyes/nose/lips. i love them both SO MUCH i can and have spent hours laying around on the floor with them

do/have u played any sports?: i did Tae Kawn Do from when i was 5 until abt a year ago! im a 3rd degree black belt c: i tried running track and playing basketball in middleschool but ive bever been competetive and i didnt enjoy it gfksvd.

bonus fact: i was on a soccer team when i was 5 and i dont remember this but, according to my dad, he once watched me start chatting w a boy on the other team during a game. Every so often, the throng of kids chasing the ball ran past us and we both just sorta. watched em go by. and then resumed chatting

usually i’d either have a shitpost-y caption or none at all when it comes to posting these random one off doodles but here I’ll record this weird personal Epiphany/self reflection that i had while drawing these two below the read me.

these aren’t great but like,,,gesture wise I think it looks great

most of my artworks lately have felt more lazy and in lesser quality, while it’s true that i’ve been trying ton converse as much energy for more important works theres also the same problem where i get super into a doodle i really like and i end up working more on that then the drawings i need to do.

however even w/ simpler doodles felt like more effort than necessary and like, compared to somewhere around 2016-2017 where i was pushing my art sometime 2018-19 i feel like im starting to falter behind. of course this is my mind blaring the “DO YOUR STUDIES” alarm but also im like, still struggling to properly manage my time and prioritization. even now when i have much more time i still struggling to keep up w/ little responsibilities i have. (and honestly im kinda grateful its like. not as bad but im like too much of a disaster of a human being to keep my shit together sdgjksdgsdf)

lmao i’ve already forgot most of whatever i was going to type but i most certainly feel like i should start pushing myself and my art more and I’ve said this already 1000 times but I want to get better, i only wish i had that motivation/inspiration last longer than 20 minutes. sgjksdf

Hey I know you're a fantastic artist and honestly a legend so, how good does one have to be to contribute to a zine?

bfdfkjg im literally neither but ngl id say you shouldnt grade yourself by how “good” an artist you should be to get into a zine, there are bunch of factors involved 😅 i dont wanna sound like an asshole but ive been in zines with crazy good artists im literally afraid to talk to (most of the time those were invitation-based?) and others (usually based on open applications) that are of more mixed quality. id say just practice as much as you feel the need to--starting w smaller zines might help if youre self conscious and 1. wanna spend more time working on your portfolio and 2. feel like you might not get into a bigger project; smaller zines in my experience have been more lax and friendly lol

id say these are the best ways you can try to make a good impression as an artist if you wanna start contributing:

practice drawing. i think different zines have different expectations but if youre REALLY self conscious abt ur art to the point that youre thinking of not applying id say just keep producing pieces and youll improve regardless

have an organized portfolio. like if not a portfolio, a blog dedicated solely to your art or even just a link to a specific tag: i have an art blog but send my #art tag specifically cuz all i do is make text posts on my art blog lol

practice finishing pieces, mods generally dont like portfolios full of doodles, sketches, and static compositions or pieces that all look the same..

ive been rejected from 2 zines ive applied to and the 1st i now know for a fact was cuz my portfolio was WAY too old (latest pic i had posted was like..2 years old) and every zine from that mod ive applied to ever since, ive gotten into. the other zine uh..idk why i didnt get in but i was told that my art didnt fit the project and i was later informed that the mod was an anti anti. so yeah. anyways dont make too big a deal outta zines ngl there are a bunch of them out there and its more than likely that youll get rejected from at least one of them; theyre just for-fun fandom projects and if the idea of not applying gets stressful jus dont sweat it and keep practicing for yourself at least

Do you have any advice for getting clout on an art blog? I have an art blog on here, but im much more active on instagram and reviving my old youtube channel with speedpaints that have been sitting on my laptop for quite sometime not, but none's been getting kuch attwntion, if that makes sense. (My tumblr is cleaner than my instagram, though, since my ig is a spam acct from like three years ago and i dont have the heart to delet all the spam on it)

hmm… not 100% the meaning of clout but i searched it up and i think it means something like responsibility or recognition or smth like that idk

if youre looking on how to get your art to be noticed, try tagging it with as many things relevant (example: my traditional drawings i tag as traditional art, anime, cartoons, doodles, pen, ink, watercolour, paint or any other medium i used as well as the subject matter).

It’s also good to make a kind of brand/series that you think people would like to see more of. so i link a lot of my speedpaints to my drawings, so it may get people to look through other videos or drawings i have.

if you have the time, you can ask people if they’d like you to draw something. i usually dont do this (with exceptions), but getting others involved in your art make you more noticeable than just a robotic art gallery with no artist.

It’s really hard to get attention for art, ive been online posting art for about 4 years and im still not an artist that is particularly popular in any group, but just know that someone will appreciate that art, even if it takes a long time for them to actually see it.

1. How did you come up with your username and what does it mean?

its a bit of a case of a normal name getting turned into a nickname and then a nickname getting turned into another nickname until it’s unrecognizable from the normal name? Grace -> Grass -> Grassepi !

2. Which fanfic of yours has the most feedback? (bookmarks/subscriptions/hits/kudos).

all of them for Blue Petals, Silver Thorns ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ . The yuri on ice fandom was crazy yo

3. What is your AO3 profile icon, and why did you choose it?

it was supposed to be Uraraka from boku no hero academia, though I drew it without a ref so it’s a little off from how she looks in canon? I chose it cause I was really happy with how that doodle came out, though!

4. Do you have any regular/favourite commenters?

oh hell ya, ive made a lot of good friends through people commenting!! @dansantsouslalune first started editing my stories because she and i started talking in the comments! I’ve got a couple people who I ended up giving my skype so we could talk more easily, too. It’s a really nice way to make friendss

5. Is there a fanfic that you keep going back to read again and again?

Close to the Chest (yahaba character study, kyouhaba), constantly, always, re-reading this one. uhhhhh I’m sure there have been some others but I re-read this like, every few months so I’ll just put this here.

...I’m subscribed to two stories.... I’m not the biggest fan of reading WIPs cause im a wimp, suffer under cliffhangers, and like to just read the whole story at once. I do keep more tabs open on my phone of stories I’m reading, which I guess count as subscriptions? So, 3 more stories that way! I’ve got 134 bookmarks, which isn’t really a lot compared to some people.

7. Which AU do you find yourself writing the most?

mmmm i guess i’m hesitant about writing anything explicit? like, even vanilla explicit stuff- i would be too embarrassed to ask anyone to edit that and even more embarrassed if any of my friends actually read it. ironic, because i read all my friend’s porn the instant it goes up lmao

10. Is there anything you would like to be better at? Writing certain scenes or genres, replying to comments, updating better, etc.

every once in a while i go through like, blackout months where i post nothing and respond to no comments and i literally Do Not Mean To, i just look at my AO3 and go OH SHIT I HAVENT DONE ANYTHING IN OVER A MONTH, so maybe that? Also, writing longer fics... and shorter fics? I have a sweet spot around 20K which is... kind of unwieldy

11. Do you write rarepairs or popular ships more often?

popular ships, literally always... i dont say that because im trying to pander to a fanbase! i guess, i just? i’m one of those people who does base most of my shipping off canon relationships. no offence to rarepair writers, i just have a hard time sustaining the desire to write an entire fic about two character if they arent close in canon

oh my god i was like, “probably tumblr?” then i had a sudden vivid memory of reading a soulmaka fanfic on fanfiction.net and seeing the author linked to the same story on their AO3, but “with the mature parts” there. i started reading on AO3 after that lmaoooo

17. Do you consider yourself to be a popular or famous author in your fandom(s) on AO3?

ive been... recognized a couple times in fandom discords, when i mention that i wrote X fic? But no, definitely not

18. Do you have a nickname or fandom name for your readers?

nah, but i have jokingly referred to them as my children a few times to my friends

19. Was there an author who inspired or encouraged you to write?

not really? ive just kind of always wanted to do this since i was like 7

20. What writing advice would you give to a beginning author?

!! -JUST USE ‘SAID’. as someone who reads a lot of fic? the reader, aka me, is basically just reading the dialogue when dialogue is happening. i personally find myself skipping over the “they [something that means they said that]” part mostly and just going to the next piece of dialogue. dont stress about it so much. use said, its Safe and There for U.

-Just use their names. epithets are weirdly removing from the characters ur talkin about, avoid as much as possible. if ur using their names Too Much, ur probably not actually. as the reader u never think “god they used X character’s name TWICE in that sentence, how dare they?” u just move to the next line.

-if ur writing a scene with characters of the same pronouns, please be careful about those pronouns. i personally try and designate one person to be the pronouns of the sentence, and the next person to always be their name. if u switch it mid-sentence, it gets very confusing for the reader!

-most of these thus far are “here’s what ur reader is thinking”, so here’s one- as the writer, do whatever you want? Just have fun writing. Speaking as someone who got a lot of kudos when she started writing because she was writing for a large fandom that was just starting out, and then that trailed off into basically nothing just a few months later, it can be really hard to remember sometimes that the whole point of this was to Have Fun yourself. but it’s really important that you’re writing because you want to, not because you feel like you have to <3

21. Do you plot out your stories, or do you just figure it out as you go?

depends on my mood! I really like plotting stories, but i also really like surprising myself when i’m writing lmao. i try and give myself leeway to figure things out as i go while i plot, so i write down like, a couple objectives for X chapter and then say “and whatever the hell else u wanna do for that chapter”

22. Have you ever gotten a bad comment on a story? If so, what did you do?

Yea! When i was just a small twelve year old posting my first awful story to fanfiction.net, my first EVER comment was some 20-something dude telling me that it was awful and I should basically stop writing! Anyways, 12-year-old me was so fucking spiteful about that that I chilled out for the next 3 years just working on my writing. So thank you, dipshit 20-something who felt the need to tell a 12 year old how awful their story was, you motivated me so much through pure spite and salt

23. Is there a certain type of scene that you have a hard time writing? (action, smut, etc..)

Uhhh scenes that transition from internal monologue to dialogue wig me out a lot, i never know how to make that transition smooth? Also, arguments. I write a lot of them, but they stall me out a lot. I usually end up staring at myself in the bathroom mirror saying the last piece of dialogue to myself, trying to figure out how the other person would respond.

24. What story(s) are you working on now?

of published things, everything stays (right where you left it), an otayuri childhood friends AU. The next chapter is at like, 7K i think? So it’s getting there! Also, Text Me, Call Me, Skype Me Later, a haikyuu groupchat fic that i’ve been gradually picking away at for over a year now! that’s sort of a constant WIP, since I don’t really have an end goal in sight right now. There’s also Dust and Starlight, a longer yuri on ice fantasy AU i started in march this year and i stalled out HARD on because i took such a long break from it that now I’d have to re-read it to keep writing, and I .... don’t.... want.... to .... do .... that....

25. Do you plan your next project(s) before you finish your current ongoing story(s)?

u ask that like i ever finish my current stories

26. Do you have a daily writing goal set for yourself?

nah, but i do have a monthly writing goal for the past few months- 20K a month! and there’s a deadline in my writing groupchat too, we’re supposed to be able to say we’ve published something every 15 days or so. there’s no punishment if we can’t manage that tho

27. Do you think you’ve improved as a writer since you first started?

i literally feel my soul slowly setting itself on fire when i read my older writing

28. What is your favorite story that you’ve written?

in terms of the effect it’s had on my life, absolutely Text Me Call Me Skype Me Later- i’ve made so many friends through it, it’s so fun to re-read because i forget all the jokes i wrote in, it’s so therapeutic to write. It’s also something I started writing because of how depressed and anxious I was during the summer of 2016- writing it was the only time my brain wasn’t screaming at me, I found out. It really helped me during a time when nothing else seemed to help at all. For that alone, it means a lot to me, even if I’m bad at updating these days.

In terms of writing prowess? no idea. Probably More or Less, i was really proud of how that one turned out.

29. What is your least favorite story that you’ve written?

the phineas and ferb/voltron fic, which i refuse to name for the sheer negative chaotic power it holds. it was supposed to be a joke but theres this one person who keeps commenting on it and really bothering the person i wrote the fic with, and its kind of ruined the whole joke factor of the fic for the both of us

30. Where do you see yourself (as a writer) in 5 years?

ill be.... 22 then? Hopefully, I’ll be the kind of writer who looks back at what i’m writing now and goes, “damn that was some shit writing” lmao. i hope future me roasts the FUCK outta current me and then writes something amazing. for real tho, hopefully working more on original ideas? i love fanfiction but i do wanna work on my own stuff eventually!

31. What is the easiest thing about writing?

32. What is the hardest thing about writing?

trying to motivate myself to reread something i wrote last night and edit it,,, also avoiding the question when my extended family asks what i want to do with my life because if i said “i want to be a writer” they’ll just look back with worried looks because thats Such a Risky Career

all alone just started playng this is terrible lets get it

so day6. a band i only found out about in late june (thank u boxy) and before this i only ever listened to bts and mx bc my friends stan them so i thought i was gonna expect boys dancing, the usual.

i clicked i smile and i lost my fucking shit as soon as i saw the instruments because prior to day6 i was a big 5sos fan so this was rly resonating to me tbh and i was just !!! so fukcng excited??? i never intended to even get into day6 honestly??? but after witnessing how good they are and watching about all of the available mvs at that point i was completely in awe so i caved a created a stan twitter for them.

now, this isnt even the most of it. after becoming a fan i realized how much more these 5 boys are. they compose (if im not wrong) and brian writes lyrics for the songs each month because of their everyday6 project and again, im wow-ed because??? the amount of dedication???? they went from releasing 2 title tracks in 2 years to releasing 12 title tracks and 12 bside tracks in a single year. they havent released the december song yet but haviing to work on 2 or more songs in 4 weeks is fucking amazing if you ask me.

theyre really talented and theyre just so versatile (am i using that word correctly) and each month their songs sound different. this project has given them the opportunity to try new things and you can hear the steady improvement in each of their vocals (dowoonie not so much since he barely gets lines, but we all know hes working hard) and if you listen to their debut song - kongchu and compare it to the version they released along with sunrise it just???? the drumming has even changed from the original version nd its so noticeable that whenever i hear kongchu from 2015 i know its the old ver

to add to those, they do vlives every week and although those vlives are always scheduled it still makes my day seeing them and watching them do the usual.

one thing im upset about is that how they barely promote themselves, they rarely get on variety shows (the most is individual schedules) and we, as mydays never really get to know the boys so its harder to fall for them as a whole. i dont know if its jyp or day6′s decision but if this is how they want to be known for - their music only, then so be it. we still have jae’s presence on youtube, music access and asc. thats the most we can get and it makes it difficult for us to learn about the rest but thats okay.

another thing. their concerts are something i always look forward to (even though my interest has died down a bit;) their concerts are just so fun to listen to?? there’ll always be mydays who stream the concert so everyone else can listen to them play and they sound so good live it drives me crazy. mydays are always so hyped and whenever mydays sing along it just gives me goosebumps??? bc theyre so???? good?????

tldr; day6 deserve more, following wise and promotions wise because they work so hard and once this project ends i hope they’ll manage to rest but still remain as a presence that will be known instead of returning to jyp’s dungeon.
