So i made a lil concept for a malory towers fic i could write maybe at some point (spoiler it's a gay ship because what better to do with a homophobic author than make all her characters lgbt)

Extensive description of kissing (ew)

CAUGHT BY DEAR GWENDOLINE OH NO

Witty joke about karma or whatever

Gwen tells everyone 'she's a deviant! A dyke!'

Bill: i could get a lot more deviant than this darling *wink*

Gwendoline mary fucking blushes and everyone's like OOOOH but that's a story for another day (and another girl hint hint hint)

Darrell and sally make eye contact and go a bit red but that's left up to interpretation (THEY'RE DATING SHHHH)

Anyways they don't see who she was kissing (spoiler it was clarissa) but we already know because the whole first paragraph is dedicated to unnecessary description of bill and clarissa snogging in the stables

So then bill's like huh and just kisses clarissa on the lips in front of everyone because she's stubborn like that

So gwen starts shrieking like a madwoman and bill grabs Clarissa's hand and pulls her out and they go to the stables with their horseses

Clarissa's like 'what we have... Is it really truly as awful as people make it out to be?'

And bills like nah fam

Anyway basically they're all gay but we don't know this and it doesn't come up in the story except it's hinted at because lmao

Anyways there's some cute fluff and it's like awwwwww

And then mary-lou's outside and she's like 'i thought you might like to know... We don't all think like Gwen does. And if she tries to hurt either of you we'll do what we can to help.'

And bill and clarissa are pretty shocked and then clarissa suddenly just hugs mary-lou and m-l's like oml affection bc most of her friends were either toxic or v distant (I'm reading into this children's story too much but fuck it what else is there to do)

And bill just stands there grinning and she's like 'you are a brick mary-lou' because that's what people said back then

So the dinner bell goes and they head back

And gwens giving them dirty looks all dinner and clarissa says something witty to her

Alicia omg i just thought what if she's homophobic and comes around

'They'd all seen the way belinda blushed when her hand brushed irene's, or the way darrell and sally looked at each other when they thought no one was looking. No one minded and no one gave it a second thought because they were just special friends, and friends should be left to their own devices to do what they want together. But this. This could not be ignored.' yes they're all gay for their best friends what of it

So alicia makes some rampantly homophobic joke at the expense of bill; 'now i suppose you thought since you looked so much like a boy you'd better pretend to be one, too.' it's a work in progress guys this isn't the direct quote

Snippet of alicia's pov, she's mad at herself because she's just coming to terms with her sexuality and so she throws her whole self into making life heck for bill and clarissa

And of course bill flirts with her because that's just how bill is and clarissa laughs because she knows bill would never really cheat however much she joked about it (big win for Trust and Healthy Relationships TM)

So gwen thinks alicia's agreeing with her and she's about to go full on using this to her advantage til Alicia's like hold up motherfucker I don't care how homophobic we all are ya just don't sneak like that

And this happens in front of everyone

So gwen goes and sulks because ah how ghastly, someone with empathy

And while Gwen's sulking alicia realises by being an asshole to the gays she's essentially just being like gwen, and god damn does she not want to be like darling gwendoline mary

So she apologises in front of everyone and they're like ayyy

So someone says 'there will always be people like gwendoline, and we'll always have to put up with them, but i suppose it's worth it.' and then MWAH there's a kiss and it ends
