I really don’t know if any ship will ever reach the emotional peak that is Dani and Jamie for me. I will forever be chasing the high of watching Bly for the first time and going, “Oh. Oh.”

okay but seeing Fanny being a headstrong young woman who states that she has a mind of her own and wants to help her father with the business and is visible fed up with her mother for telling her that it's not appropriate and then comparing it to S1 Fanny... it's mindbaffling.
George absolutely and deliberately broke her spirit, didn't he? I mean I don't even want to imagine what she had to endure during the first few years after the marriage and probably later on to get to from where she started to who she became
So her saying "still the same girl underneath" made me quiet emotional because she finally is able to get that part of herself back.

peter teaching derek to control the shift via anger really did fuck him for years huh
i'll come back and finish this later, preferably after doing a closer rewatch of tw but cliffnotes version is that when derek loses his powers in s4, i think part of it has to do with the fact he connected back to his 'origins' which is literally him right before peter teaches him how to use anger to control the shift, and that brief connection to his younger, less traumatized self kinda loosened that bit of anger he's kept inside him all this time.
also derek's hair-trigger temper in s1 - which admittedly has more to do with trauma and paranoia-induced hyper-vigilance (ooh wait s1!derek/s5!stiles comparison-) makes even more sense if you consider that he's been connecting to his anger and using it as a control since he was in high school

OpenTogetherTube might work, depends on how you screen the episodes? Their site says they stream direct links to mp4 videos, idk if that means you could upload it to a Google drive or something and stream it there? Idk. Ive only personally used it for YouTube screen sharing :/ TwoSeven is another one, haven’t used it but site says it supports personal videos, I’m assuming episodes saved to a computer would count as that? Society if rabbt still existed ugh
will check those out after work thank you! do you know if either of those have a limit for how many people can join a stream tho?

im like 3 episodes into the fall of the house of usher and its pretty alright. personally im into this reinterpretation of poe stories. it sucks u in with production value & salaciousness. the dialogue is corny tho and im not gonna lie sometimes i zone out during "dramatic" monologues and have to rewind it in case i missed something important. ofc i still have the rest of the show to go so maybe my opinion will change but so far. its alright. its a passable tv show

#my girlfriend and i went to see the barbie movie today#sadly it was rather disappointing and neither of us liked it nearly as much as we wanted to or we were hoping we would#also our theatre experience wasnt great cos there were a bunch of little kids (all around ten years old) in the last row#and they were being inappropriate throughout the film but especially at the serious and heartfelt moments#(they were talking and giggling and making gross noises like burping loudly)#and it was clear they did not want to be there cos when the movie ended one of them loudly said 'finally!'#it was just horrible and luckily someone sitting in the row in front of us shushed them during the final serious moment of the movie#anyway i gave it 3/5 stars on letterboxd and did not give it a heart for liking it#between this and everything everywhere all at once (which i gave 3 and a half/5 stars and no heart)#im questioning if my standards for comedy in films is too high#however my girlfriend and i watched yesterday (2019) with my dad well yesterday (it was a rewatch for my dad and i)#and we all really love the comedy in it so riddle me that#anyhoo for the prompt#i added a definition to 'haunt' as i couldnt find it anywhere but i know it is used in the same vein as 'haunting'#but i see this as an opportunity to write about someone who has passed away coming back to 'haunt' a loved one in a gentle and loving way#as a way to look out for them if you will and hence 'sweet'#and im looking forward to writing that#thanks for reading#writing#writer#creative writing#writing prompt#writeblr#trying to be a writeblr at least

oh i love how mlp s4 started out i really did love twilicorn actually. castle mane-ia is such a silly episode i love how the show went from awkward bits of not knowing exactly what it wanted to be to embracing itself and taking something previously mentioned offhandedly and turning it into a whole Thing

I really think Jack ends up being the heart of this show. His arc in the closing seasons is a very good mirror for sam’s arc in the early-to-middle seasons. Jack’s presence brings back to light all these themes that the show built itself around from the start.
Just take for example season 4 Sam; there are many times when Sam says something that word for word sounds like it’s coming out of Jack’s mouth. The parallels, the beautiful symmetry of it, the perfect opportunity to break the cycle… I swear my heart can’t hold all this feeling.
When this show started it was about the struggle of a really small and somewhat insulated family. These struggles are never really and truly resolved; the brothers carry their issues from season to season; closure eludes them. When this show ends, it’s about the same things it was always about, except  the family in question is larger and more openly, verbally, and actionably dedicated to protecting one another.
And there, at the end, is Jack, representing all the fears that the Winchesters still carry with them, and at the same time representing the thing that the Winchesters have always wanted to save them; family. Because he’s their son; he’s their family. He brings it all full circle, and that’s really cool, and that’s also really good storytelling.

Every once in a blue moon, I get haunted by this drama, one I watched more than 25 years ago. 🧐🤔
The main female character is unforgettable, and the psychopathic villain (all the red flags 🚩🚩🚩) is fascinating too. But I wonder what made this show memorable despite not being the type of storylines I enjoy.
(I have a few favourites from this era which don’t surface much in my consciousness. There is only one show from this period which I rewatch once every decade, but the reasons for that is clear to me).
Now that it is available on YouTube, maybe a rewatch (skimming) is in order to clarify on the whys.
