why chris not playin? it's stupid not to play her all the time she is better than james and toone.
Okay then, you got me after message #54964 about this, i will bite.
Casey is not managing Christen and Tobin, she is managing Manchester united and that includes at least 21 other women. It’s not always about who is better. How do you think Christen got to be a great player? By playing, so why are we weirded out that Casey wants James and Toone to play in these big games?
Tobin and Chris will be away for January camp, you know who they play in that time? Everton, Chelsea and Birmingham. If they stay for SBC they also miss the Man city game and Reading game, all of those are WSL games. That series of games could very well determine if they manage to clinch that 3rd CL spot.
How is Casey supposed to win those games if she right now would only play Tobin and Chris, two players she won’t have in those games? She needs to beef up her forwards, they need experience in big games. Just playing them against Bristol and Aston Villa won’t do that for them. I’m sure Casey wants to go as far as possible in the Conti cup but if they lost today who cares. The conti cup is not worth the same as the league is, these are the games in which you test players, in which they learn to play under extreme pressure.
The experience James and Toone got is invaluable because they got to play against world class players and they beat them. They need to know they can beat Chelsea, Man city and Arsenal because they are a great team, not just because they have two world class American players on their roster.

Well losing does not feel good, but I have many takeaways from this match, some great ones, some bad ones.
Firstly, it is undeniable that Chelsea has a strong team and bench. Their club is also willing to spent money on the women’s team and have been doing so for a long time. That is shown by the depth of the squad. A match against them will also be tightly fought. [Other teams please do something! The disparity in the league is huge. Bristol as of today has a goal difference of -43, and Aston villa with -16 and two more teams into double negatives.]
Secondly, for a team that has not even played one full season in the WSL, Manchester United has already surprised many. Maybe it is their good form that has risen the expectation so high that when they do not meet it, they fall harder too. However, this is not a reason to bash the team. There are many things to learn both for the team and the coaching staff. (Cause this is literally Casey’s first full time management role.)
The arrival of Tobin and Christen has increased the expectation of the team and their impact has clearly been felt by the players as shown in interviews as well as on the score line.
Tobin’s impact on the field is even more obvious today when she is not on the field. It also shows that United has an over-reliance on Tobin to do her magic. United should either start training their current team or find someone who can carry on Tobin’s role when she is not available or when she leaves (cause I don’t think she will end her career here?)
Christen is playing her first competitive match after missing out the end of year matches with illness. That might have some impact on her form but she was so alone up front, and this is not the most efficient position to play her. A player no matter how good can only do so much if they do not have the support of their teammates. Also, Casey probably make this line-up decision for reasons we won’t know but United do lack fully fit central strikers. (Lauren James’ strike was awesome though)
On the point of lack of connections, United’s midfield was also none existent today. For a team that has been so good at recovering the ball at the opponent’s half, they have really failed to live up to this. Only 4 players had higher than 70% pass accuracy. And I truly believe one of them had that high is only because she touched the ball only a few times. The team need to stop losing the ball from throw ins. They also need to be more creative in finding space and making runs. They need to be more comfortable kicking the ball to the attacking third instead of passing around in the defensive third.
There are probably so many other points that I have missed.
Overall it is exciting to watch this match this weekend cause Aston Villa suffered a 7-0 thrashing, Bristol suffered a 4-0 beat up, and Arsenal’s performance was lackluster.

Did you see the FIFPro nominees for a World Best XI?? Tell me how Ali Krieger makes the defenders list but not Becky (also Sonnett but she never gets recognized for anything)? Kelley is apparently a midfielder? I’m all for it. No Lindsey?? I know this is just another subjective list but so many glaring misses, even beyond the US players.
Oh yay!!!! A soccer question! The sport is my thing, and it has been since I was like 5. The other crap I do is well... just crap.
I have lots of issues with the list. Like Millie Bright being on it. But also Ali Krieger. I loves Kriegs, but yeah. That’s a hard no for making the FIFA Best nominee list.
Kelley is a tenacious defender and I’m torn about her being on there given she sat out the Fall Series and basically all of the Challenge Cup, but I guess there are other people on that list who played very little this year. The midfielder part of that is ridiculous and hilarious at the same time, and goes to show you how dumb this whole thing is. But, midfielder Kelley is and always has been badass, and our outside backs our so offensive-minded that maybe some people got confused? But they got Dunn “correct”... except Dunn plays mid for her club team... so... Dunn and KO could play mid for pretty much any other NT, so honestly, I get converting them to OBs for the sake of getting them on the field, especially in the transitional system we play, because I don’t think they’d ever crack the midfield we currently have. Hell, we can’t even get Lindsey in consistently.
I also love love Sam Kerr but her start in the WSL has been inauspicious, if you remove last weekend’s hatty. She reminds me a lot of Lynn. Also, I feel like she’s just going to be one of the names on the list every year. Like Tobin. Take her renewed enthusiasm and play at Utd out of the equation and she has not been very effectual for awhile now, though I am glad Casey Stoney has made soccer fun again for her and we’re starting to see the old Tobin again.
Alexia Putellas being left off is an absolute crime. I’m not going to say anything else about that.
So is Horan. I’ve said this a million times before but she is one of the best box-to-box mids in the game. She is a fucking workhorse and because so much of her time on the pitch is devoted to things other than goals, what she does overlooked. Look at her stats in the Challenge Cup, though, and I don’t see how you can overlook what she does. The balls she plays into the box are precise af. Her defensive work rate is ignored, while Julie’s is praised, and I love me some JJ, but dude, we would be fucked without Lindsey back around that defensive 18 sometimes, and the Thorns certainly would be. Honestly, if she didn’t score 6 goals for the USWNT, she probably wouldn’t be on the USWNT list either. But she always has to overperform to get recognition, even to get playing time for the National Team. And that’s probably why she doesn’t hesitate to put her body on the line over and over and over, and that’s a goddamn shame, because it’s going to come back to haunt her eventually. I hate - HATE - that we won’t consider a change in formation to get her on the field at the same time as Lavelle-Ertz-Mewis. Not knocking any of those three, and Lavelle is starting to put in work in the defensive third and it’s showing, but she’s not Lindsey. She’s creative and light on her feet, and like Tobin, people want to watch that. Casual soccer fans will never appreciate the absolute grind of Lindsey Horan.
The way the whole thing is decided, the list is always going to be skewed. But I don’t know an objective way to do it. Fans voting is a mess. Especially when people who literally had no interaction with the sport until a couple years ago are on Twitter with a huge-ass fan base talking about how they rate or dont rate players like they know, when they fucking don’t (not going to name names here, but there are several that set me off because they will never understand the intricacies of the sport), but they’re gonna go out and live tweet all the damn games. And that goes for WoSo journalists, too. Some of them shouldn’t be able to call themselves professionals. So these lists will always leave off deserving players and include faves that are moving towards that washed-up category.
Really tho, I do want to see how Krieger got on there.

I love Man Utd’s coach... Do many WSL clubs have great coaches?? The NWSL to me just completely misses the mark in that area. I also think I’m just hyped to see a female coach thrive!
I don’t know if there are many great coaches, I can’t speak that much because I’ve only followed Arsenal closely. But it’s good that they have more women managers. I think Casey and Emma (Hayes) have been making important changes and improving their teams.

As promised, my analysis/opinion/thought piece on today’s MUWFC game vs Spurs. Everything is chronological which I feel like should go without saying but in the interest of clarity 🤷🏽‍♀️ but not everything is tagged to the minute cause I am an idiot that didn’t realise that that would be helpful til like the 2nd half. Also, if I missed anything, or got players mixed up or anything pls lemme know and I’ll edit accordingly! I’ve never really done any from of sports based writing before (I don’t think tweets count lol) so pls be nice, merci 😘
Line up as follows, I guess this is pretty common knowledge but you know, coherency and such.
Tumblr media
Tbh it was kinda hard to see *a lot* of this game, especially on the far side of the pitch and by both goals because of the weather, felt like I was watching Silent Hill for a little while there, but I did my best. My wifi is also horrendous atm, and we all know that the FA Player can be problematic so there’s a very good chance I might have missed something due to a lag or buffering btw. Just drop me an ask if you notice anything that mightn’t be quite right, and I’ll fix it asap! Some ~analysis~ (if you could call it that lol) is more detailed than other bits cause there was a lot happening and today I learned that it’s kinda hard to write one thing and watch another at the same time lol
First half:
Quick, fast and almost successful start. A much-needed improvement on the stagnancy vs Bristol a few weeks ago, and obviously we couldn’t see the midweek game vs Brighton so I can’t compare them.
I have to say I’m not a massive fan of all the back passes, all the time. I think a more attacking FB might be needed in the summer, or maybe Ökvist should be given some time to acclimatise to the WSL soon? I was never the biggest fan of Harris last season, I personally don’t think she’s fast enough – she gets outpaced down the flank by attackers 90% of the time, which isn’t good. I think A. Turner is the strongest FB option currently, at least defensively, and she’s shown she has a decent attacking ability, and has a wicked long ball, as well as crossing. My only issue is sometimes those tackles of hers can be a liability, giving away unnecessary fouls. It’s almost like she doesn’t think before she flies in sometimes, which is a shame, cause I love them. A lot.
There were a couple of really good chances in the first half, including a great ball in and run up from Galton, which should have resulted in probably the opening goal but whether it was as a result of the weather or just misjudged timing and placement from both Ross and Sigsworth, the chance went to waste. Groenen had an excellent chance to net her first for United but unfortunately sent it just wide. Another glorious link up between A. Turner and Galton led to another decent chance, a gorgeous cross in from the right to the opposite side of the box, and the perfect header which unfortunately was aimed straight at the keeper. Very unlucky to head in at the break with nothing.
There was an incredible double save from Earps around halfway through the first half. I have to say, I have some anxieties with her sometimes. She is quite good, but has a tendency to make some silly mistakes, and doesn’t always make the right call for a save. But my god she was on her game today, even if a potential error might have led to the first save. Didn’t disappoint me anytime she was called on this afternoon.
A few frustrations started to show around the 30 min mark, a few sloppy passes and challenges making the rounds. It was also around this time that I realized I’d picked a pretty poor game to start this thing on because I could barely see anything.
Zelem seems to be back in form, which can only be a good thing. But I would very much like it if somehow she could drag some of the other girls back up with her.
There were a fair few soft calls going Spurs way, which I wasn’t entirely convinced by. But then again I’m probably just naturally biased towards my girls.
Another great ball in to Sigsworth from A. Turner which was just *chefs kiss* but unfortunately came to nothing. There was also a spin move either to commit or avoid a challenge, I couldn’t really tell tbh, which was very impressive, as was her chase down on Mitchell at around 43 mins. (Amy’s my favourite player, can you tell?)
Booking for Kirsty Smith just before half time, but I gotta be honest I couldn’t see it due to the fog, so I have no idea what happened. Couldn’t find anything about it in the United post-match report either so apparently we’re just deleting that from the history of the earth which is completely fine by me to be honest.
Second half:
My main takeaway from this game is that both Sigsworth and Ross always seem to be looking for the same ball in the penalty area, and there very rarely seems to be anybody else around looking for a potential rebound. I think that James (who missed today’s game due to suspension) seems to be our main (only?) front line creator and finisher; Sigsworth is fine, that girl works like a dog and always gets the job done, I think she may have just needed another goal to boost her confidence, but I have no real concerns with her. Ross, however, I’m not entirely convinced by, I think a lot of her finishes have been a bit lucky and flukey so far. I’d start Toone over her for the rest of the season to be honest, Ross hasn’t done anything that tells me she deserves the starting place. Feel free to disagree with this of course, this is just my own personal opinion.
56 mins – confusion has entered the chat. McManus ends up pretty much through on goal, and then the ref whistles for what I assumed to be an offside. So naturally I nearly kicked my laptop out the window. The ref then awards a United penalty, and I’m even more confused now than I was in the beginning. I genuinely didn’t see anything but did hear a few shouts from what I’m assuming was the United bench for handball, so I have no idea what happened here.
‘58 – GOAL. Who else? God bless Katie Zelem is all I’m saying.
‘61 – Hanson 🔁 Ross. I think this was a good swap. I don’t think Ross was particularly good today, and Hanson immediately sparked that RW. I would have subbed Ross off sooner but that’s my only issue.
’64 – GOAL – Sigsworth with a pretty perfect if slightly scruffy strike from a corner.
Tumblr media
A much better corner than previous attempts, and Spurs hadn’t defended any of them particularly well. I think that we have a major issue with set pieces, I dunno what exactly the problem is, whether they need to allocate a new taker or whatever but before today had we scored from a corner all season? Lemme knowwww.
’65 – A few decent chances for Spurs around this time. One pretty clear run in from the right, and one or two shots bounced right of the crossbar and the post. Basically my heart stopped for about 8 mins.
’66 – I DO NOT WANT TO SEE BACK PASSES IN THE BOX AS OPPOSITION PLAYERS SWARM IN. CLEAR IT. I DON’T CARE WHERE IT GOES JUST GET IT OUT. (sorry for the caps but my anxiety was out in force this afternoon)
United started playing much better after both goals, think they just needed a kick up the arse. *Ahem* A confidence boost. 👀 Much better intensity for the final 30 mins than the previous 60 imo.
’68 – Another decent chance for Spurs, with Earps coming way too far off her line than sat right with me. Very lucky nothing came of that.
’69-72 – Around this time I started to get *very* confused between Amy and Abbie cause they both had yellow boots on and literally the only thing I could see on the far side of the pitch was feet. That was fun.
’73 – The wasteful corners made a return. Slightly less panicked about that one considering we were already 2-0 up but still, I would like to see the glaring set piece issue sorted asap thanks girls x
’75ish – Toone 🔁 Groenen. Man I love Jackie Groenen. She really has been immense for us so far, and there’s a definite difference in how we play without her.
’78 – Harris 🔁 M. Turner. I’ve said my piece about Harris above but man, can we take a second to appreciate Millie Turner. She never, ever stops. Literally the heart of our defence.
Tumblr media
’86 – GOAL – Oh captain, my captain. Beautiful strike from a free kick just outside the box, with the perfect bend around the wall and subsequently the keeper to make it 3-0.
United were very obviously stronger in the second half, almost looked like a completely different team at times. Whether they just got the hairdryer treatment at the half (I would imagine Casey is terrifying when she’s mad.) or the goals gave them that spark they desperately needed to kick on, they definitely made up for all the missed chances in the first half.
’90 – 4 additional minutes.
’92 – Another United free kick. McManus found herself almost clear in (again!), but due to an unlucky fumble with the ball at her feet unfortunately nothing came from this one. Surely a 4th goal otherwise.
’93 – FIIIIIIIIGHT. Kinda. You love to see it. Spend a little while conducting some, scientific research 🌚 and have concluded that Toone was tackled from behind just as the ball left her feet, which led to the ~scuffle~. Have to say that Amy walking away with Ella was extremely 🥰🥰🥰 (This is my research - https://twitter.com/48hours8/status/1218896406020349953?s=21)
’94 – Red card for Tooney. I would assume for her reaction more than anything but the camera didn’t catch it so I guess we’ll never know. I would have thought a yellow would suffice, considering that’s all the Spurs player in question received, but apparently not. 🤔 I’m still kinda confused tbh.
’95 – Full time.
Thus concludes what was certainly an interesting match. Please enjoy this comparison of United vs Spurs chaotic energy from @danieljamesmufc
Tumblr media
Also thanks for reading if you got this far, it’s a bit stop-starty and clunky cause I just wrote down thoughts and whatever as they came into my head and then pieced it all together later on. I also just wanna say that I was massively impressed with Smith today. She hasn’t had many chances to prove herself this season, but that combo of herself and Galton down the left was lethal today imo. 🔥
Some extra thoughts:
I’m not a huge fan (like, at all) of fans singing men’s orientated chants. Let the women’s rivalries develop on their own, in their own way, and don’t drag the vulgarities across! That said, I do think that particular group of United fans has the potential to be a very, very good thing.
Also, just wanna say that these are my girls, and I would die for every single one of them. None of my criticism is meant to be intentionally negative, I just tried to be as objective and realistic as possible, without being a fangirl lol. Even my faves aren’t immune to criticism unfortunately.
And this picture is now my favourite thing ever to exist

WSL Game Day 6: 7 Nov 2021
⚽ Alessia Russo
Tumblr media
What a disappointing game.
We were the bad one. I'm shocked seeing how bad we performed under Skinner. Missing Casey so bad. When she quits and Skinner replaced her, I know I shouldn't expect anything from him. No tactics just vibes. Favouritism going rampant. Zelem poor performances. What a bad bad week for United.
So what am I expecting from him?
Nothing. I just gonna enjoy supporting our girls. I'm not expecting him to win us trophies nor cup. Not expecting him to win us the champions league placement nor the top 3 in the WSL. Expectation hurts. So no expectation on him. I support united because I love this team. But to expect them to do more? No thanks. We are not Chelsea, Arsenal or even Man City. We are United. Owned by the greedy fuxking Glazers.

I’m just such a sucker for a strong, tattooed female athlete. my lesbian brain just short circuits and I have no shame. also the two of them dating is such a win for the gays. woso, the gift that keeps on giving.
Honestly, you have really great points and I think I’m changing my bet 😅 I do see the resemblance, they absolutely have a similar face shape and similar body language. (Casey, I also miss you in the WSL) You are NOT alone in seeing the resemblance haha.

Manchester United Women: Casey Stoney criticises Old Trafford television decision
Manchester United Women, which reformed in 2018, will play at Old Trafford for the first time Manchester United head coach Casey Stoney says it is “short-sighted” that her team’s historic Women’s Super League game at Old Trafford is not being shown on television. The WSL game will be shown live on the Football Association’s FA Player free streaming platform. “I think we’ve missed a massive…

Manchester derby: Man City Women’s Ellen White on Man Utd Women WSL match | Football | Sport
Manchester City Women are excited that Manchester United Women were promoted into the top flight last season, as it means the players can look forward to big occasions in the Barclays Women’s Super League (WSL), revealed City and England Lionesses’ Ellen White.
City host their rivals United in the first ever professional women’s Manchester derby on Saturday afternoon (3pm) at the Etihad Stadium.
United won the Women’s Championship last season by nine points, losing just once in their 20 matches. They conceded just seven league goals all season, finishing with a goal difference of +91.
But a trip to title-chasing City will be a tough introduction to WSL life for United boss Casey Stoney, and the Citizens are relishing the first ever Manchester derby.
We know from the men’s game how big the derby is, so we’re excited that Man Utd are in the top flight
Ellen White
“We’re excited,” White told Express Sport. “We obviously know from the men’s game how big the derby is, so we’re excited that Man Utd are in the top flight and we can have these occasions.
“The fact that it’s at the Etihad makes it even more special to be honest. Hopefully we can get a big crowd, and a big backing, and everyone’s supporting women’s football.”
After a highly-publicised World Cup, City are hoping for an attendance of around 25,000 fans for the derby. White admits that playing in front of that many fans inside the Etihad Stadium would be “incredible”.
“I think it’ll be a big crowd, and everyone there will be backing us and supporting City,” she said. “Hopefully there will be a big United support as well.
“It’ll be a great game and a great atmosphere, and I think it’ll be great for the women’s game.”

Man City Women aren’t the only team to play in their respective men’s stadiums for the opening WSL clash. Stamford Bridge will host a cross-London derby as newly-promoted Tottenham take on Chelsea. Meanwhile, Bristol City take on Brighton and Hove Albion at Ashton Gate. (even though women’s in their team names, think by this point in the point it’s established it’s about the women’s game so doesn’t need it in)
These huge clashes in the top flight can help to showcase women’s football, and White is hoping that fans will continue to come back and watch WSL matches thereafter, especially after matches like the Manchester derby.
“It’s a massive derby, and in a city that loves sport,” she said. “The fact it’s being played at the Etihad shows just how big the women’s game is coming on. For the WSL we really want to build that fanbase, and really build the attendances as well.
“Man City are fantastic in terms of getting on board and supporting the women’s team. The fact that we’re playing at the Etihad shows that, and hopefully we can get a good 25,000 there – that would be incredible.
“It would really back the game and showcase what women’s football is really about, and hopefully we can build on those attendances and hopefully they keep coming to games there after.”
Tumblr media

But, for City, they know that their match against United is “the big one”, and they’re keen to lay a marker down for the upcoming season.
They have the aim of winning trophies consistently throughout the season, with four trophies up for grabs; the WSL, the FA Cup, the Continental Cup, and the Champions League.
This season’s WSL is sure to be the most competitive in its nine-year history, but City are mentally prepared for the challenge, and are eager to get started, said White.
They’ll have to go through the season without their star player, Nikita Parris, however. The England star was sold to Lyon this summer, and White was recruited as her replacement by City manager Nick Cushing.
“Nikita did great things for City, and she’s gone on and left to go to Lyon,” said White. “But we’re completely different players to be honest, and I just want to focus on what I can bring to City, and hopefully prove why Nick brought me to the club for what I can do – workmate, passion and desire.

Manchester derby: White was the joint-top goalscorer at the summer’s World Cup (Image: GETTY Images)
“I want to contribute to goals as well so I’ll be doing everything I can to prove that. I’m excited, and I’m looking forward to making my debut for City.”
White starred for the England Lionesses at the World Cup this summer, ending the tournament as joint-top goalscorer. She also became England Women’s all-time top World Cup goalscorer.
But, she’ll be missing Saturday’s derby against United having picked up a knee injury after from the World Cup.
She had surgery on her knee more than two weeks ago, and she’s well into her rehab and recovery schedule.
“I’m itching to be out there playing and training,” she said. “But it seems to be going pretty well so far, and I’m just excited to be wearing City colours now.”
Ellen White was speaking at the Manchester City Stadium store where kit sponsor PUMA and the Club invited fans of the club to meet their heroes ahead of the first ever Manchester women’s derby.

hey! would u mind giving a quick rundown/intro to the engwnt roster? thanks :)
i’ll answer seriously this time lol
GOALKEEPERSKaren Bardsley - Makes world class saves. Good punch on the ball when a cross comes into the penalty box. Could work on catching and not missing the ball when a Belgian is a metre away but overall very confident with her in net.
Siobhan Chamberlain - Has had to play back up for a long time but is a solid keeper and a good shot-stopper.
Carly Telford - Haven’t actually seen much of her so not really got much to say but she made some incredible saves in last seasons wsl
DEFENDERSSteph Houghton - Brilliant leader and CB. Stays calm in pressured situations (like goal line clearances). Good in the air and at free kicks too.
Casey Stoney - Very experienced CB with excellent vision of the game. I think other players feel very comfortable with her on the pitch.
Laura Bassett - A CB who plays with no fear. Solid at the back (except that one time lol)
Millie Bright - Absolute tank of a CB/CDM. Produces crunching, well timed tackles and pops up with a headed goal on occasions.
Jo Potter - Good passer of the ball. A versatile player between MF and DF.
Lucy Bronze - Just an incredible RB. Can perform in all areas of the pitch. Bombs down the right to provide options in attack and scores some wonder goals. Absolutely key to the team.
Demi Stokes - Very fast LB who also is good at getting forward and helping put balls in the box.
Alex Scott - Might not play as much these days but when she does she offers speed and experience.
Alex Greenwood - Wonder of a left foot which takes very good set pieces. Good amount of aggression to push opponents off the ball (henlo shoulder barge)
MIDFIELDERSJade Moore- Another tank in midfield who will not pull out of a tackle no matter the risk.
Fara Williams - Cool, calm and collected, especially from the penalty spot. Very experienced with an incredible passing range.
Jordan Nobbs - The engine of the team. Her energy never lets up and so she constantly bosses the middle of the pitch. Also a wonderful striker of the ball. Future captain.
Jill Scott - 86th minute tap in merchant. Obviously very good when it comes to heading.
Izzy Christiansen - Very energetic player who makes good runs off the ball. Finds space where many wouldn’t.
Karen Carney - Tricky player who can often make something from a seemingly impossible position. Work rate is second to none.
FORWARDSFran Kirby - Clever player who makes clever runs and scores clever goals.
Nikita Parris - FAST. Makes nifty runs down the wings and provides many assists.
Ellen White - Never second to the ball. Gets herself into great positions to get shots away and does not miss very often. Top rate fitness levels too.
Toni Duggan - Likes to go through periods of time where she cannot stop scoring screamers.Very talented but just needs to improve her shooting under pressure.
Jodie Taylor- Incredible work rate, a player that doesn’t stop until the final whistle. Very clinical in front of goal.

i agree with your starting 11 completely and that would be my choice of players as well. and i think within those players you have the ability to move them around a lot because of versatility, especially with many of them being so young, the transition/learning is much easier for younger players compared to someone who is older and has been playing in the same position for so long. plus there is always subs and if the WSL keeps it at 5 those players will likely get minutes at some point/maybe even starts for games against weaker opponents but it’ll also force them to work harder to contend for starting positions. which i’m sure was also one of casey’s goals
Yes, exactly! The flexibility is going to be so fun to watch.
I think the depth will be a huge plus this year for the squad as well, and some of the younger/inexperienced players will get time in games like the FA Cup/Conti Cup games that are squeezed in mid-week as the season goes on. Also, we’re not sure if/when TC will be called in for any National Team duties so they could miss some time if they are at all. It’ll be a good balance for all involved.

Barclays FA Women’s Super League season preview
All eyes are focused on the Barclays FA Women & # 39; s Super League this weekend, while top-class action returns with great match-ups on Etihad on Saturday and Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
The renewed interest in the ladies game, ignored by the lionesses' ability to capture the imagination of the nation in France has seen the competition as a main sponsor, bumper marketing deals and free online match streaming platform by The FA
But the biggest challenge the competition faces this year is getting fans through the gates on seats, week after week, something that the Division 1 Female in France despite a home cup failed
Here, Sportsmail Previews of the 2019-20 Barclays FA WSL season …
