I knew I was Overdrawn. And I only had the cash that I had on hand to get me back home. A friend of mine works at Choice Hotels and I had been a rewards card member for about 3 years. However, even though I stayed numerous times at Choice Hotels over the last 3 years I had only managed to amassed about 8000 points. My friend was supposed to give me her employee rate. But it took weeks and I knew the rooms were selling out for spring break. So I assumed she had forgotten and she wasn’t going to send me the link. So I went ahead and paid up front with my own money for 2 nights, which was about $200 because I paid for them in advance, which was not bad at all. However, by the time she did send me the link. Most all the hotel rooms had been booked because of spring break. I found one hotel room 30 minutes away that with. The discount I could get for $40, which was great because I had no money left. So I prepaid for the hotel room or at least I thought I prepaid for the hotel room. It told me book. This right now by Prepaying. I click the link. It asked me for my credit card number. I gave the credit card number, it circle through a couple of times and then it said confirmed. Edit sent me. An email saying. You know this is your confirmation number for this date, which is the exact same email. They sent me for the rooms that I had paid for. So with exactly $20 in my pocket. I drive all the way over to the hotel only to find out , it had not been paid for. I had no money in my bank account my card was declined, and I had nowhere to stay for the night. not only this but I could not even use my rewards points because all of the hotels that had rooms available for 8000 points, had jacked it up to 16,000 points. And every hotel within. 70 miles. Had rates that started at 16,000 points and they had nothing for less. Being on the autism spectrum. I’m really picky about who I stay with I don’t like staying with people in less. They are family are I know them extremely well. So I took advantage of the time change and the fact that it was still going to be daylight for several more hours and I went ahead and got on the road. Where I ended up before the sun went down? Is an HEB an hour and a half away or an hour and a half into my journey? I was able to scrape up enough money for a half priced sandwich that they had because obviously it was the last day they could sell it. So I am parked on the side of the building. It is 8:30. I’m hoping they don’t notice me and they let me stay here, all night and I’m hoping I can sleep a little bit and then when the sun comes up tomorrow. I will finish my journey, I have a full tank of gas. I have some stuff to eat for breakfast, although a coffee would go well with it, I have exactly $8 left. I have no money in my bank. The check that I usually get from the oil company as small as it is. Has been delayed because they have a new accounting firm. So instead of getting sent out at the first of the month. It gets sent out on the 13th so it will be waiting for me. When I get home but a fat lot of good is going to do me because my overdraft will eat it all up. So, in less, I can pull about $40 from it, I will not be able to go to El Paso to see my family, which isn’t that big of a deal because I really didn’t want to go and see them anyway. But I felt guilted into it because my uncle is so old. So hopefully. Everything will be OK. I still need cat food. I’ll still gotta figure out how to do that. But once I get back is will only be 10 days till payday and I’ll go and do all this crap all over again. It is so tiring to be overdrawn at the end of every single month. The state has proposed a $5000. Raise for all teachers and it looks like it is going to go through if that went through that would give me an extra $300, a month and I could just about break even. at any rate sleeping in my car is nothing new when I was on the run from my ex husband when I first left I had to sleep in my car for about 2 weeks so it’s not really a big deal I’m just hoping that this parking lot is safe enough and that nobody comes up and runs me out in the middle of the night because I can’t see it night so it would be really hard for me to drive to any other location but I’m here on the side of the building I have no idea if this is a 24 hour location or not but hopefully I’ll be O here for a while longer.
