It didn’t take long for him to decide on one of the Hades skins and ready up for a game; while waiting, he texted Jason and Percy to ask them where the hell they were. 

“Lots of unknown territory… Is that Olympus? Bit big of a statue, but alright. Olympus it is.”

Nico narrowed his eyes, leaning forward as he made his way through the new location—which he had called correctly, Olympus. 

“Oh, nice—okay so we’re about to get our first Mythic,” Nico said quietly, barely focusing on the screen. Honestly, at this point, he could play the game in his sleep—it was why he ended up making so much content with Percy, who wasn’t… bad, if he didn’t spend as much time focusing on how to make the game funny. 

He turned around the corner, running into a player and quickly taking them out. He bit the inside of his cheek as he continued searching the location, being drawn to a flash of what looked like lightning off in the distance.

He only made it a few steps before he was suddenly sniped.

“What the fuck?” Nico muttered, blinking quickly as he lifted his hand from the keyboard. He frantically clicked on the screen while waiting for it to load, because his sister’s apartment in Italy really didn’t have the best wifi, and then— “You were killed by Zeus? A fucking bot? Wh—”

His phone buzzed, and Nico quickly flipped it over to see Percy texting him that he had slept in, he would film reactions for a bit, and then could Nico join his party in twenty?

Nico’s mouth formed a thin line as he glared at the screen, exiting the game and starting a new one. “Alright then. We’re killing Zeus next round.”

OSRS is by far the best mmo as far as I'm concerned. You can do literally anything in it. It's so simple. Its just a little medieval fantasy point and click RNG simulator. But that simplicity is what makes it so addicting.

You can literally just do whatever the fuck you want on it. The game doesnt hold your hand at all, and while I can see how that would be overwhelming for new folks getting into the game, its an aspect that keeps me coming back.

It's kind of a single player mmo. Like sure there's content to do with other folks, and it can be social at times, but like your account is yours. Everything takes such a long fucking time in that game, especially if you're playing as any type of Ironman account, that the game feels more personal.

Like I don't play nearly as much as some folks that I know and I still have nearly 5000 hours of in game time on a single account and its not even in the late game yet.

Like sure these stats are pretty decent for an iron, but I haven't even started going most of the end game content like Raids, CG, Nightmare, ect.

No only that but I legitimately that the osrs content creators are some of the absolute best gaming content on Youtube. By far. It is insane what some of these people do with the game, all because of how much of a sandbox it is.

Even if you know nothing about osrs or Runescape in general, I would HIGHLY recommend checking our SoupRS on Youtube and watch his Gielinor Games series. All of them. Start with the first season, and watch them all if you like it. Its like a survivor style game with challenges, voting, bannings, and testimonies, all through the lens of osrs.

Settled is one of the funniest motherfuckers on Youtube and has multiple videos about region locked accounts that are still easy to understand for folks who have never played the game.

Jeporite has a NorthernUIM series that leaves me in hysterics every video.

J1mmy is one of those content creators that turns everything he touches into something good. I cannot praise all of his videos enough, including the ones he makes that arent related to osrs. However, his osrs F2P series is one of my favorites.

Hannanie is a trans woman content creator that just makes some of the most off the wall insane videos I've ever seen. Seriously, she made a fucking 21 part series about cutting fucking trees in this game and managed to make every installment a banger. Hannanie is a treasure and everyone should know her content.

Imo the only gaming content on YT that comes even close to osrs is probably Minecraft, but that is mostly because you can do so much modding that the content stays fresh.

Plus with the RuneLite client, you can make your in game interaction as customizable as you want. My whole client is fucking Miku themed lmao. The community has made so many amazing plug ins for this game including a full HD client with dynamic lighting effects, increased GPU distance rendering, ect.

OSRS is a great fucking game and you should definitely be playing it. I will take full responsibility for the thousands of hours that you lose to it. I could go on but this post is already a lot longer than I was expecting it to be.

As an aside: Ironman does something to you. Why do I have 117k Light Orbs in my bank? Idfk might need em. 20k gold tiaras? Just in case. 10k snake skin? You never know when something might pop up. Hoard Everything.

Games I Played in November

I never really plan these out but I always like talking about what I've been playing.

So I already talked about Trackmania, but I really hope to stay top 100 in my state for this season. I've got 18/25 author medals and that's better than I've ever done, but there's still time to maybe get a couple more. (I'm super close on some of them.)

Marvel Snap's been fun too, I've been playing a bit more casually. Like not buying anything with actual money, skipping dailys if I don't feel like playing, stuff like that. And I don't care what anyone says Martyr's so fucking fun and cool. I haven't hit infinite yet, been stuck in high rank 80s playing all sort of different decks. But that's okay it's been fun and that's the whole point of gaming.

As far as new games I finally bought Arkham Knight. That was amazing to play at my own pace instead of having to wait to play it whenever I visited my uncle's house as a teen. I got through basically everything, I'm tracking down the last few Riddler trophies on my own. I probably won't bother with NG+ but there are a lot of post-game stories I want to play which I never got to. I've also been watching a bunch of Arkham series lore vids on YT and that's really put me back in the headspace of playing the Arkham series like I did originally.

Handshakes was a fun free indie speed-game. I got top 100 on the steam leaderboards and that was fun.

Chillquarium is great, the demo was fun and cute but somewhere along the way it turned into a card pack opening simulator but in the best possible way. Like if you've ever wanted to open 1000 pokémon booster packs for no reason other to hunt for a super rare or something that's a super fun game to emulate that feeling.

And also Colostle. Obviously I've been posting my journals for that game on here for two years now so y'all know I love it! But it's been great playing it more frequently again I've got basically two chapters finished in one month, which I haven't done in a while. Really trying to get to the Tundrooms and Kyodaina content. The Colostle Patreon's already getting even more content in the Dungeons and maybe more (I've been off it since I'm not utilizing the new content immediately and I'm gonna buy the books when they come out anyways) and I feel like for as much I like the game I haven't experienced all it has too offer which is weird for me as someone who normally goes for completion, or achievement hunting, etc.

Daryl Takes Games on YouTube made a video about tackling his backlog and at one point he talks about the importance of writing about games as you finish them to preserve them as a memory for later and that hits home with what I'm doing here with these monthly summaries. That video was beautiful to me as a longtime gamer. I'm gonna take this time to also add games I plan to play in the future. Even if I don't get to them next month, I want to think about games and see how that changes between months.

So yeah, very recent addition to the backlog is Signalis. I've been seeing amazing fanart and it even featured in that video, so once that next goes on sale I'm gonna pick it up.

Rivals 2 looks amazing and I've backed the kickstarter so I hope I get to experience that in some manner once it comes out. Fighting games have dwindled from genres I play since I don't have as active of gamer friends and grinding with someone is the best part, but maybe with rollback and the good online it promises I'll still enjoy that on my own or maybe even find some new gamers to play with.

That video mentioned Sayonara Wild Hearts with a comment that seemed like the ultimate praise: "Every part was my favorite part." Since it's only an hour long I'm just gonna watch a playthrough, but that's totally valid. My fondest memories with Undertale was watching Dodger Leigh (PressHeartToContinue)'s full playthrough of that game, way more than my own playthrough. Even though the grind of beating Sans myself was worth it. Perhaps after watching Sayonara Wild Hearts I'll pick it up but I'm not gonna pressure myself to do that if I don't want to.

Some other games I tried recently but refunded include Dave the Diver (it looks good and was fun but ultimately didn't seem worth it to play the whole thing), Oxenfree 2 (I played the first and love it but this one just didn't hook me and there's no shame in giving a game), Shadows of Doubt (a couple months ago I tried it since it looked like I'd enjoy it after watch GMTK's vid on detective games but ultimately it was too involved and seemed like a chore to play, when I was looking for something else, the figure it out, red string on a cork board yes, the rest of the gameplay no not really), and Word Factori (I think I was just looking for a fun optimization game like Opus Magnum but Word Factori just fell short). In future ones of these I'll make sure to mentioned games I tried as well as played because those can be important when looking back on as well.

And finally, holy crap this post is long, good thing this blog is for me and I'm not trying to impress anyone with my thoughts on these games.

From a time/attention and safety perspective, how do you manage having multiple pet species in one home? (I think this would be a good YT video topic if you haven't covered it already)

I’ll probably do a video eventually covering it but here’s a shorthand:

Obligatory mention that my animals do not intermix, the birds have never and will never intentionally end up in contact with the dog/cat, be in the same room as the dog/cat without restraint (carriers, kennels), or otherwise in any form capable of reaching the dog/cat.

Time/attention:

Consistent scheduling and adapting schedules to meet everyone’s needs.

Birds get around 2 hours in the morning 2-3 hours in the evening give or take, when I was working it was closer to 1 hour in the morning and 1-2 in the evening. Things may fluctuate depending on their behaviour, seasonal hormones, etc. if they want more time they get more time but most days they’ll fly back to their room for a nap when they’ve decided they’ve had enough people time. I have a weekly task list to ensure I keep on top of things like foraging activities, toy rotation, floor cleaning, etc. so we don’t miss any of their important non-social activities.

Mammals get the rest of the day really, cat spends most of the day sleeping and gets more playful in the evening, dog goes for a walk/treadmill in the morning, usually grooming or training later in the day. They also have a weekly schedule for things like training, nails, grooming, sport activities so their health/ enrichment needs don’t get accidentally overlooked. During bird time the mammals usually get a puzzle toy or a chew so if they don’t want to nap there’s something else to do. At this point though they all understand the routine and just go for a nap.

Safety:

Communication, management, and training

Jack and I always communicate before swapping out each animal. Before letting the birds out we confirm that the dog is kenneled and the cat is in his room. Double check all the doors and mention if any windows are open (although they are all screened it’s important to know if one is open so we don’t let a bird chill out in that room without supervision just in case they try to chew through the mesh). If it’s dark out we make sure to turn a couple extra lights on because parrots have the worst night vision.

On the mammal side we call the birds back to their room, confirm that they’re both in the room and clear that the door is fully shut/ locked before releasing mammals.

I’ve done training with all my animals to make sure there’s a higher chance of them being calm and responsive in a crisis. Things like having the birds in travel carriers way out of reach and teaching the mammals to disengage, or immediately run to their kennel/ room upon seeing them. Also a lot of drills running around pretending to panic with a cat wand “flying” in the air getting the mammals to respond by going to their zones and laying down. If a bird ever gets out when the mammals are out the hope is the immediate sight of the scenario will cause them to go to their spots so we can lock them up and acquire the birds. The mammals have also been taught not to hang around the bird room door and provided with appropriate outlets for any of that predatory behaviour (watching prey outside the windows, playing with prey-simulating toys) this way they have an outlet for that natural behaviour but it’s clear that the indoor birds are not where that behaviour is fit.

On the bird side we worked on creating calmness around the mammals (with the mammals crated). Having the birds be comfortable with a mammal moving, vocalizing, etc. so if they were to get out and see one they wouldn’t panic/ get hurt/ fall to the ground. Additionally we formed a really solid “go to the room” cue so they can quickly be sent back to their space.

We also made small modifications to the house, mainly just added draft reducers to the bottoms of the cat door and the bird room door. Newt likes to fit under some of our doors (namely following you to the bathroom) and there’s a risk that the cat may stick a paw under the door so we added rubber and hard plastic attachments to the bottoms of the door so they fully contact the ground, no paws, tails, or beaks can get through.

Most of it is just being careful, as long as the household is on the same page it’s pretty easy ensuring everyone’s safety and needs are met.

Do you have any tips on custom terraforming and custom trees? Or is there a specific YT chanel or blog you follow for advice yourself?? (Love your builds btw, I recently haven't had the energy or a good enough mood to play mc but it's always amazing to look through people's projects for my own inspiration).

 heyo! so it's a bit tricky to give advice on this kind of thing bc I more go with the flow until things start looking right, but I can offer some basic (and probably very vague) advice under the cut

for terraforming: think natural, organic shapes and avoid hard edges. this seems obvious but it can be hard to remember especially when making upward slopes/mountains etc.

^this is from literally 7 years ago bc I'm not at my new computer but it's a good example bc it's got good and bad things to it. you can see how at the bottom of the build it gradually slopes up from the water and then transitions pretty smoothly to a steeper slope, that's a pretty good example of how mountains can look. if you've taken algebra, think exponential graph type shiz. even if you have a steep cliff it usually doesn't rise completely vertical from the ground. you can see the area I circled does pretty much that, which makes it look out of place with the rest of the build. 

another good thing to keep in mind is block variation, which adds texture to the landscape. I've definitely gotten better at this over time through practice and watching other people build. the blocks you use are gonna vary depending on the biome/environment ofc, but I like to play around with multiple blocks w/ similar colors

depending again on your biome, greenery is always a plus. I tend to avoid using bonemeal to add grass/flowers/etc, because personally I don’t love the red/yellow color combo. as for custom trees, I typically make the trunk/branches first (using a combo of logs, wood planks, fences, stairs, slabs to get the right shape/colors) and then filling in leaves until it feels right lmao. 

I don’t really watch tutorials on building, but I do watch a few builder youtubers when I have time. GoodTimesWithScar is known for being a super talented terraformer with a lot of large-scale builds. (his current hermitcraft starter base is a really cool tree iirc, which might be good to check out!) BDoubleO100 is another inspiration of mine, and is really good at nailing fine detailing in building (his texturing has inspired me a LOT). in my last post with the castle, those pine trees were inspired by some he made in one of his videos. he just started a new season of his youtube building series, where he talks in depth about his build process––would totally recommend. through association I know lot of other hermitcraft members have great experience (GeminiTay PearlescentMoon Grian etc etc etc), so you can check them out too! 

big takeaway that I’m sure everyone’s heard before: practice makes progress woohoo yass! but it’s true, I’ve definitely seen improvement just by trial and error and experimenting with different things over time. also learning from other people can be super helpful as well. tools like worldpainter/worldedit/voxel aren’t necessary at all, but they’re sometimes super nice to use especially in the planning stages of building. if you’re able to download/willing to use them, there are a lot of youtube tutorials on how they work

this is a super general overview and I’d be glad to answer some more questions if you have any specific ones! just realized this has been sitting in my inbox for a few days and wanted to make sure I got back to you. again, I’m no expert and if anybody else wants to reply w/ extra advice feel free <3

okay that was my answer,, but i have some built up emotions regarding this ship so a fresh, VERY LONG rant coming up 😭—

Okay so as I had said before, Riven x Musa was actually first ship i ever actually "shipped". i hadn't really known anything about fandom or shipping back then, all i knew was that they looked good together and they should kiss (dudes i was a baby, spare me this one) **also remember that i only watched like the first two (2) seasons that too the episodes were not in order so then, when i'd answered the ask a few days back, i was like huh, i haven't watched winx club in ages maybe i should binge it?? but as a classic me move, ofc after the first four episodes i gave up and started reading a book (💀) but when i was aimlessly watching videos on youtube the other day, i came across the official Winx club yt channel aaaannd, they had done something really amazing. they'd made compilation vidoes of all the ships, like "Flora and Helia Love Story [Season 2 to S7]" that was so amazing!?! so obviously i watched Musa and Riven's story. I'd remembered that they had a lot, and i mean A LOT, of conflicts throughout the seasons, but yknow, i was still really happy to see them. Before, to have a relationship in shows, all i knew was that the people have to be pretty, and if they look good together, they're a good couple (1 like = 1 braincell for younger me 😭) But now that i know that that isn't the formula to a good relationship, i could see some many red flags in their relationship. like my mind was constantly like: 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🥰🥰🥰🥰🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🚩🥰🚩🚩🚩🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🚩🚩 you get the gist but you know what, even though, as it is a show literally about fairies and MaGic, i had hope for them. because even through all those bad moments and fights, they always came back to each other. BUT THEN. You know in a series finalé how everything comes together. worlds are conquered, wars are won, love is saved and all that shit. WELL GUESS WHAT. FOR MY FIRST EVER SHIP, INSTEAD OF HAVING A LOVELY—IT WAS ALWAYS YOU—YOU WERE ALWAYS THE ONE—I HOPE WE CAN START OVER—I FUCKING LOVE YOU—CONFESSION, THE MAIN SHOWSTOPPER OF THEIR RELATIONSHIP IN THE  FINALÉ WAS A FREAKIN BREAK UP 😭😭😭😭😭 I just cannot believe how i ended up shipping the ONLY doomed ship in the whole show. 😭😭 But you know what, even tho the series is finished, this only gives me more hope for them. Riven, throughout the show was overly possessive and kinda controlling but cold at the same time, (for the 1st or 2nd season, he was also like the terra of the show 👀) but he went through some MAJOR character development, and in the end, HE was the one who called the break up. He knew he wasn't the best partner, and that Musa deserved someone so much better than him, and he let her go. and the break up wasn't nasty or anything. even though i was really sad, the break up was almost refreshing. both of them knew they weren't ready to be in a relationship with each other yet, so they let each other go. (the character development was truly *chef's kissss*) what I'm saying is, they're almost, imo, the perfect definition of "right person, wrong time." and i believe one day in the  future, they will have a bright future. together. (on that note, any fic recs please? 😭) and if you've reached here, omg i can't believe you're still reading!! honestly this was basically a therapy session for me 😭 Here have a cookie for being so wonderful ( ꈍᴗꈍ)//🍪

the mall didn't burn down entirely (like from the outside it looked fine). the ventilation system caught fire so it was more internal—ceilings and all that. covered things with soot(?) and ashes so the entire mall was closed for nearly 2 years. and hey, i've experienced a school fire too back when i was younger. i, too, thought it was nothing but a fire drill until i saw the charred remains of the buildings behind our school : D thankfully, no one died.

the new nct track is for a samsung commercial AHAHA it's funny because nearly everyone uses apple TT_TT and the mv screams neo culture tech tho (well as it should lmao). yes, i was talking about that part in hot sauce but yes, it grew on me too.

ateez really know how to do a performance. they put the standard so high for me when it came to performing. their facial expressions and overall stage presence just impresses me. it's been a while since i've seen idols draw me to them by those standards.
