Scottish cycling hero Skinner tells how the pursuit of glory led to depression and early retirement
What happens when the brilliance of the gold becomes dull when the thousands have traveled but the destination remains unknown, even unreachable ,

Become more anxious. It felt like I was in a prison. I text & # 39; the friends, my mother, looking for help. I thought, "I can't do this." It was a complete slump. Whatever happened at home or at school, where I was rather shy, I could escape on my bike. But suddenly it became a bit of a prison. & # 39; Peters offered the shine of a delay. & # 39; Things then did a twist & # 39 ;, says Skinner.
& # 39; In one of his many negative comments, I was called to a meeting, he made me feel that it was necessary to explain myself.

However, a doctor told me that I wasn't pedaling. I was drowning.
& # 39; I know myself a lot better. I still make mistakes. I see scores such as the Olympic Games partly as a bandage on what really hurt me. Cycling was my world, but I moved on, changed jobs. & # 39; In the past year he has quickly become a leading reformist-focused athlete; a prominent voice on anti-doping and appeared on TV and radio, talking about politics and culture.

A Guide To Music Publishing Part II: Performance, Sync, and Print Royalties

Hey everyone! Ok we're on post two of our Music Publishing blog series. We hope you learned a bit from Part I, Mechanical Royalties. I'm hoping to keep these posts a bit shorter so that they are easier to digest, however I think we can squeeze in a few types of royalties in this post. So today we are going to talk about performance royalties, sync royalties, and print royalties, what they are, show some examples, and talk about how to collect these royalties.
Performance Royalties
What are performance Royalties?
Simply put, the songwriter and the publisher of a particular song are owed a performance royalty every time that song is "broadcast" or "performed" in public. 
Examples
Played on internet radio 
Played on terrestrial radio (FM and AM radio)
Played in stores and businesses, such as restaurants, department stores, or specialty shops.
Played on online streaming services
Performed at live venues or clubs. This includes performances by yourself, by a cover band, or even by a DJ. 
3) How To Collect
These royalties are collected through a Performing Rights Organization, otherwise known as PROS. As a songwriter, you'll need to register your works with one of the PROS in your country, and they will collect your performance royalties for you. Here are the main ones in the United States and Canada:

SYNC ROYALTIES
1) What Are They?
Sync royalties are earned when the songwriter and publishers works are synchronized with visual media of any kind. This is typically used for TV shows and movies, but it does extend into any visual element. The trend as of late has been for companies to buyout all rights to the works, which results in a large upfront payment, however no royalty payments during the use.

Played in a movie
Played during a commercial
Played in advertisements
Played in online video streams
Played in video games
3) How To Collect
Sync royalties are also collected through PROS, but some agencies that collect mechanicals will also collect sync royalties, such as the Harry Fox Agency in the United States. So again, these are the agencies you'll want to look into:

BMI
SESAC
Canada
SOCAN
Print Royalties
1) What Are They?
Print royalties are the least common type of royalties, however they are still worth mentioning. So, whenever your compositions are transcribed and printed, you are entitled to a print royalty. The amount of royalties you receive is very simply based on the number of printed copies.

3) How To Collect
Print royalties are typically paid out by the printer of the sheet music to whoever licensed the works. So this one is a case by case basis.

Step 1 – Educate yourself
LEARN THE BASICS
First off, you’ve got to learn the basics of the Whole30 program. The best resource for this is the original bestselling book from Melissa Hartwig – The Whole30: The 30-Day Guide to Total Health and Food Freedom.
Be sure to check out the official Whole30 website. There is a lot of information on this site and you should be able to find answers to any question you might have. Some of our favorite pages are below:

Step 2 – Clean up your kitchen
This has nothing to do with a scrub brush or soap. One one of the most important tasks to complete to ensure you’ll be successful on your Whole30 is cleaning out your refrigerator and pantry. This is different for everyone, but ideally you want to get rid of all of the non-approved Whole30 items in your fridge and pantry. If you can’t get rid of it all (maybe everyone in the house isn’t doing the program) at least try and move all of the non-approved items to a separate area or cupboard.
Once you’ve cleaned up your kitchen, you’ll need to restock it with some clean kitchen staples. To help with this, we have created a list of common Whole30 pantry and fridge staple items that we use in a lot of our recipes. You’ll need to stock up most of the items on this list to use when cooking your Whole30 meals. Click the button below to download the list.
Whole30 Staples
Step 3 – Plan, plan, plan
You can’t go through any portion of your Whole30 without having some sort of plan. For the most part, eating out will be off the table so you need to have a plan for cooking all of your meals at home. For this, we’ve got you completely covered with our Whole30 meal plan. We’ve already done the planning for you, so all you have to do is execute the plan! We’ve also incorporated time-saving make ahead meals, flexible prep steps and planned leftovers in our meal plan to streamline your time in the kitchen each week. You can read more about our Whole30 meal plan here.

Step 4 – Make sure you have all the tools
While we don’t recommend going out and buying a ton of new kitchen gadgets for your Whole30, you may want to invest in a couple of items that will make your life easier during the 30 days. Below are some tools that we use regularly and will be useful for the Whole30.

Glasslock Containers – These containers will hold your leftovers and any meals you prep over the weekend. They are dishwasher, microwave, oven and freezer safe.
Crockpot – This will do a lot of work for you during your Whole30. It’s good for large meals with leftovers.
Instant Pot – It’s like a space-age crockpot that cooks meals so fast you won’t believe it. If you’ve thought about getting an Instant Pot but haven’t yet, now might be the time.
Spiralizer – Turn zucchini and sweet potatoes into noodles and slice and dice veggies in interesting ways with this cheap gadget.
Step 5 – Know where to find WHOLE30 APPROVED Products
Most of what you eat during your Whole30 will consist of moderate portions of meat, seafood, and eggs; lots of vegetables; some fruit; plenty of natural fats; and herbs, spices, and seasonings. We’ve found that certain Whole30 approved food products can make life easier during the Whole30, so you don’t always have to make everything 100% from scratch.

Step 6 – Commit and stay positive!
The final step of our Whole30 starter kit is a friendly reminder to make sure that you are 100% committed to following the program rules for the entire 30 days. If you can, summarize why you are doing the Whole30 down to a simple phrase or mantra. This can be something simple like “for my kids”, “for my health”, “to support my husband” – anything that resonates strongly with you. This mantra is what you can tell yourself if you are ever struggling and need to remind yourself why you originally committed to the Whole30 and why you should stick through it.
If you go through some struggles during the 30 days (inevitably you will), remember to stay positive and keep moving forward. You’ll be amazed at what you can accomplish with a strong commitment and positive attitude.
