Note
I swear my mind is full of Eevees right now-
Time for the Kanto Trio Eeveelution info!
Vaporeon is a male, Jolteon and Flareon are both female.
Vaporeon acts like a older sibling to all Eeveelutions, he keeps them safe and protected all the time, he is very respectful to everyone especially to his trainer, that is unless you threatened them and he will tell you to leave.
Jolteon is the same as Vaporeon, an older sibling who keeps them safe and protected all the time, she's a very kind Jolteon, she's also careful with her spikey yellow fur cause when Jolteons are angered or startled, their fur spiked up, very sharp like thin needles.
Flareon is also the same as Vaporeon and Jolteon, an older sibling, but she's very overprotective to them all especially to their trainer, she doesn't trust anyone, she just glares at them thinking they can't be trusted and they want to hurt them, but if you don't want to and you're kind, she might show you her true nature, a very soft and kind one(that she won't admit it).
Names and Personalities:
River, the Vaporeon: Calm and Respectful
Spark, the Jolteon: Kind and Careful
Amber, the Flareon: Overprotective and Aware(secretly Kind and Soft)
The reason why they're the oldest in the Eeveelution is because the first Pokémon(Red and Green) game was released in 1996, so you could say that was a long time ago.
Ask from: "Pika" the Pikachu(Itzcrystal1006)
Oh that's cute.
If Wind gets Vaporeon, as the youngest getting the "oldest" eeveelution- I dunno I think that's just very sweet.
And since it's pushing 30 years ago, yeah, I'd say that those three eeveelutions have seniority. XD

POKETIDE AU!
Creator: @burning-sol
Links: au tag, animation
Summary!
Riptide x Pokemon but *I* have the most based takes about it. Girl don't look at those other AUs, I have the best iteration.
Additional Propaganda
Okay so you can check the #jrwi poketide <- that tag if you wanna see shit. It's not fully developed but like here are some of my fav bits.
I have pokeball lore!!! It's actually pretty different to canon pokemon, so I just wanna shout it out. Jay Ferin has traditional pokeballs that grow and shrink and have the symbol of her family because they're custom made for the Ferins. Chip has older pokeballs he recieved as hand downs that do NOT work that good and don't adjust in size <- this is like a cheaper and more common pokeball, they're made from acorns. Gillion has undersea pokeballs that can hold multiple pokemon and are based on like shells? Which helps explain his much larger team of pokemon. And you should totally check out this underrated lil' video of mine that shows off how they look when used. (https://burning-sol.tumblr.com/post/695164166727663616) But yeah, basically they got some greater implications to themz.
ALSO FUCK STANDARD POKEMON TEAMZ. I don't wanna be rude but this is a bracket so I just wanna say, these bitches teams reflect something about them down to just how many pokemon they use. Jay has less pokemon because she's more rigid and deathly unsure about what she's meant to do with herself. Chip has a ragtag found family team, a lot of them very silly additions. Gillion has WAY too many pokemon, and he doesn't rlly follow the unspoken "6 pokemon battle" rule because he is a bad bitch!! Let Gillion have like 4 corsola btw, I think he's allowed to be high key obsessed with them and looking after them. (BTW pokemon fight alongside their trainers they arent separate battlez, just want you to know)
Pokemon highlights:
Jay and Eevee "Eevee was a pokemon she inhereted from her family. She was given a firestone to eventually evolve them into a Flareon but she hasn't done it on her journey yet. Jay thought that she was just procrastinating at first but as time goes on she's starting to realise she hasn't followed through because that's not what she wants for her Eevee or for her." And I have considered drawing a custom evolution for Eevee because that'd be so cool.
Chip and Bonsley "Chip stole this house plant. I mean house plant I mean house plant I mean house plant I mean-" He accidentally took a pokemon he mistook for a houseplant.
Chip and Sableye "Chip is so distressed that Gillion is throwing all their money away just wait until he realises his pokemon is eating it too. He genuinely has no fucking clue what this thing is."
Gillion and many magikarp "Gillion has a collection of Magikarp (all on the smaller side) he looks after so that one day they will evolve into big strong Gyarados. :) Jay and Chip did not understand why Gillion was collecting these Pokemon until one of them evolved on the journey with them and they're just, "WAIT THAT'S WHAT THEY EVOLVE INTO??" Gillion thought they knew."
...and Chip spinoff of above story "Funny side story, you remember Gillion and all those Magikarp? Well Gillion suggested that Chip help look after them and Chip found a Magikarp he fucking ADORED. He was feeding them! He was chatting with them! They were BESTIES!!! And then the Magikarp evolved but it didn't want to go back into the sea, they wanted to stay with Chip. Chip has a Gyarados because Gillion convinced him to look after a Magikarp and Chip decided they were the best Magikarp ever. I hope that makes you happy."
Gillion and Seadra "gillion has basically had kingdra since he was really really small, and it was regarded as one of the few times as a child where he really managed to step up and sort of embody what he's meant to be? but the kingdra actually was just a pokemon who looked at the tiny not very well treated child and adopted him. kingdra is older than gillion and i didnt quite realise HOW big kingdra was, but searching it up for drawing... kingdra is 5'11″ (180cm), which makes it even TALLER than gillion at his tallest. and that's a height i dont use so gillion is like 5'1" (154cm). kingdra rlly does just look like gillion's poke parent, its so silly." Seadra adopted gillion you guys.
Gillion and honedge "gillion STILL has a honedge when he joins the story, and they evolve into doublade episode 15 which coincicides with gillion's growth as he develops a better understanding of the world (also there was a sword fight like yeah its fitting). HOWEVER, to evolve into an aegislash you need a dusk stone. ... i propose that doublade evolves episode *73* in tandem with when gillion makes the oath of vengence... i feel like its such a noteworthy moment for gillion AND the magical effects charlie describes are as follows "..and you see as the sparkles around him- this funny, zanny, quirky pixie dust starts to turn into almost a charcoalish colour-" <- that seems like adequate dusk stone vibes to me."
also gillion has an Omanyte and Kabuto that he was given as a child that hate him because they think he's a disappointment i love when pokemon trauma <3
so that's a lot anyways MY pokemon au is the MOST fucking based PLEASE believe me

@kla1991 replied to your post “I still have no idea why American Girl did a...”:
Do you have thoughts on who would be on Nikki's pokemon team? I was not quite a tomboy in 1999 but I was totally feral about pokemon and that doesn't really wear off.
Okay so APPARENTLY my memory has been wrong for the last 20 years? Because I stg since high school, I was under the impression that I got my kiwi Gameboy Color and Pokemon Gold for my 12th birthday -- but Pokemon Gold/Silver didn't release in North America until October 2000 which means I couldn't have gotten it until my 13th birthday. :| (And the Zelda Oracle of Seasons I remember getting for Christmas 7th grade wasn't released until mid 2001 which would make it Christmas 8th grade for me !!!)
Time is weird, I guess. Anyway, that means Nikki and her twin Isabel could only be playing Pokemon Original Flavor in 1999. Unfortunate, because I have much less personal experience with Red/Blue but also fortunate because 151 pokemon is a lot less to choose from than the 300+ in gen 2.
Disclaimers: It is impossible to select Nikki's pokemon team without also selecting Isabel's, so you're getting both. Also, I chose these without reading their corresponding American Girl books and without regards to type-matching against the Elite 4. We're going purely off of vibes here.
To start, these girls would've started playing Pokemon between 7-9 (they're 9 on NYE 1999) and while their mom is in the tech field, I don't think they would've dug into version exclusives at that age before selecting their Pokemon games. It'd be more about favorite colors and the pokemon on the box. So, Nikki picks Blue because it's closer to purple and Isabel picks Red because it's closer to pink.
Nikki likes Blastoise on the box and if they've watched any of the anime, she might know Squirtle has some punk attitude which she'll like as a skateboarder and daughter of a grunge band member. Isabel chooses Bulbasaur because she's not super interested in fire. By sheer luck, neither pick the hard mode starter and both skate through the first gym just fine. (Unlike me, haha)
No one raises Magikarp, even after they learn about the Gyarados evolution. Both have Pikachu in their parties, especially if they watch the show. Nikki evolves her Eevee into Flareon to have a fire type. Isabel evolves hers into Vaporeon. You get to pick your fighter after beating the fighting gym leader, if I remember right? As the skateboarder, Nikki chooses HItmanlee, the kicker. Isabel plays tennis and chooses Hitmonchan the puncher.
Isabel is CRUSHED when she learns Vulpix is only in Blue, so Nikki traders her one for her team. She also has Jigglypuff for the pink and cute vibes, and definitely sings the Jigglypuff sleep song when Nikki annoys her. Nikki rounds out her team with a Magnemite -- chosen solely for the vague hoverboard vibes they give off. And Articuno. Neither of them are patient enough to bother with Gyarados, but Nikki WILL catch one of those legendary birds dangit! No matter how many times she has to quit without saving.
In conclusion:
Nikki's team: Squirtle, Pikachu, Magnemite, Hitmonlee, Flareon, Articuno
Isabel's team: Bulbasaur, Jigglypuff, Vulpix, Pikachu, Hitmonchan, Vaporeon
And while they might easily be playing on original Gameboys, I'm still assigning them Gameboy Colors. Nikki has it in Grape and Isabel has Berry.

Got any other teams or positions laid out for that AU? Error, Nightmare, and Cross, perhaps? Potentially Frisk, since they’re the main character? I adore Pokémon AUs, so you’ve caught my interest!
Oh yes! I have! A lot of team ideas in mind!
Error and Nightmare are both members of the Elite Four, with the final member being Reaper. Cross's role is a lot more unclear right now, but the idea I have as of right now is that he's the Director/Headmaster of the academy where Frisk, Aliza, Shamrock, and Stripes are enrolled. Aside from their jobs in the Elite Four, Error is a programmer & the owner of an electric company, Nightmare's an author, and Reaper's an archaeologist.
Again, as a reminder, the inclusion of Mythical Pokemon is subject to change.
Error specializes in Electric-type Pokemon. His team consists of Magnezone, Toxtricity, Alolan Golem (this is also subject to change), Eelektross, Zeraora, and Mega Ampharos. Don't be fooled; even though he's in the Elite Four and owns a whole company, he's still lazy as hell. If you remember Caitlin from Black & White, he's like her- he's literally napping when Frisk goes in to challenge him.
Nightmare specializes in Dark-type Pokemon. His team consists of Hydreigon (pls tell me I spelled it right), Bisharp (might upgrade this to Kingambit), Krookodile, Honchkrow, Drapion, and Mega Tyranitar. As I said, Nightmare doesn't use a Mythical on his team- however, he does still have one. He has a Darkrai.
Reaper specializes in Ghost-type Pokemon. His team consists of Golurk, Chandelure, Mimikyu, Trevenant, Marshadow, and Mega Gengar. Funny enough, since the Elite Four's battle chambers are stylized to reflect their specialization and personality, many challengers mistake him for being a Ground or Rock-type specialist.
Cross is a bit undecided, but since I don't have anyone who specializes in Ice-type Pokemon yet, that's what I'm using for him as of right now. His team consists of Galarian Darmanitan, Mamoswine, Weavile, Aurorus, Cloyster, and Mega Abomasnow.
I actually have all of the Gym Leaders figured out, but this might get a bit long if I add all of them at once, so I'll move onto Frisk. Frisk is a bit difficult to talk about because they're also like a player-insert; they're always changing their team according to whatever strategy is best. So really, it's hard to say they have any set team because they really don't. They're kinda like Ash in that regard.
Shamrock is a trainer, but they're actually aiming to be a performer/contestant, like Dawn, May, and Serena. So their team is built more around beauty and cuteness than battling; it consists of Furfrou, Swanna, Frosmoth, Pawmot, Meowscarada, and Altaria.
Aliza is aiming to become more associated with studies related to Pokemon, like a professor or a nurse. Her team consists of Blissey, Roserade, Mismagius, Rotom, Primarina, and Audino.
Stripes's role is very undecided at the moment, so they might be more of an ordinary rival for Frisk (though, with Frisk's lore, saying they're rivals is a bit of a stretch). Their team consists of Klefkli, Froslass, Flareon, Morpeko, Sylveon, and Lopunny.
I also have some characters who aren't involved with the League or Gyms, such as Mettaton (idol), Napstablook (streamer), and Ccino (cafe man).

[A theres a knock on your door! When you open it.. There's a rather large present, with a note on top! the note reads as follows:
"hey im your secret santa. merry arcmas? meant to get this out earlier but busy. sorry for the delay. should still be arcmas for you right? hope you like the gift. just make sure your mons dont eat the chocolate of course. -rs"
Within the large box is lifesized Flareon plush! It's very fluffy... There's also some Konpeitō, chocolate chip cookies, and a Spell Tag.]
// this is the perfect chance for some lore lets gooo /lh ~ | The place was BUMPING when they first got there, lights all over the place, music blaring from inside both the house and the restaurant next door, both Christmas related and, not.. I could swear one song over in the restaurant next door sounds like it's singing about talking in your sleep.. Odd branding too, who's that yellow bear? | ~ ~ | Well anyways, after the knock, a voice echoed from in the house, one that was drawing closer with footsteps. | ~
"WE'RE NOT BUYING ANYTHING, IF YOU TRY AND PAWN OFF THOSE SHITTY KNIFE SETS ON US I SWEAR TO THE GODS ABOVE AND THE DEMONS BELOW I WILL- oh."
~ | The Brunette in a Santa Outfit was cut off as she realized it wasn't anyone, rather, anything. She examined the box for a second, before pressing her ear onto it to make sure nothing was ticking. Too many times Tavish put stickies in there, so says her memoir. After confirming that it wasn't a collection of bombs that her scottish father figure had sent to detonate again, she slowly brought it in, the party inside still bumping as she did. | ~
"Looks like we got mail folks. No clue from who, thought postal service didn't run today..
~ | She paused, pressing a worried hand to her chin.. | ~
"percy and the other mail services d i d get the christmas mail done yesterday right.."
~ | Another woman, taller than the brunette by what looked to be two or so inches approached, resting a hand kindly on their shoulder, faded gold eyes matching Andrea's own shimmering Sapphire, and black hair drifting down her back. | ~
"Yes honey everything there was sorted don't worry, I listened to your ramblings last night.. What's it say?"
~ | The brunette at last decided to properly look at the box's tag, reading over the note left on it. As she did, two other figures walked over, the child, and the cannibal. Both were taking an interest in the box, listening to their mothers converse about it. | ~
"hey at least one of us does Cassidy."
~ | Andrea jested, giving a small peck on the cheek to the spiritual woman next to her. And as usual, the ghost melted into her wife's grasp. Lesbians. | ~
"Ok from what I've read, it's from that Secret Santa thing we signed up for back at the start of the month. Forgot about that thing somewhat.. Hey they got the time zones right it's still Christmas here on the Pacific Coast.."
"Then why does it say 'Arcmas'."
"Might be a different name for it, different religions, cultures, ways of celebrating, y'know."
"Ooh. Yeah fair enough."
~ | The two women took a step back, as they looked to the kid and the demon girl who are still eyeing the gift. | ~
"Have at it you two."
~ | As SOON as Andrea said those five words, the two began to rip open that gift's wrapping with the might of the demons below which, honestly makes sense considering one's dead, and one is actively possessed. | ~ ~ | Eventually, the two finally got the box open, and pulled off the lid to reveal the contents inside. | ~
"COOKIES. MINE."
~ | Mary rushed off, cookies in hand, the feast shall begin. | ~
"Oh FUCK yeah! Spirit Tag! Been looking for one of these! Shed will love this."
~ | Maddie scurried off to the couch, showing her Shedinja the tag, and carefully securing it to him in a way that wouldn't make him shatter into a million pieces, not only using it for the fact it's a Spirit Tag, but also as a Name Tag, just in case he takes another joy ride on the railway out back. | ~
"No way, no fucking WAY bro! I remember HAVING this shit as a kid! My parents ALWAYS put this in my stocking!"
~ | Cassidy grabbed up the Konpeitō, ripping it open, and taking a good handful, putting it into her mouth and MELTING at the flavor.. | ~
"Mmmph! Oh my god that is, really, really nostalgic.. Honey?"
~ | Cassidy turned to see what her wife was doing, only to see the woman on the floor, holding the life-size Flareon plushie in her arms like a child, or more accurately those like *gently holds* memes with the yellow creatures. Her own Flareon 'Coasteon' was looking at it with great intrigue as well. She was practically frozen, just, holding it close. Cassidy couldn't help but chuckle, sitting next to her, and snuggling up, giving her a soft, yet loving hug. | ~
"Lost a lot this year, I know ya did. But, hopefully next year has a lot more promise. Merry Christmas Honey."
~ | And with her quiet words, the brunette leaned on the black haired spirit, and quietly, the two enjoyed the last fragments of the season together. | ~
// OOC // WOO! I LOVE writing! Always a wonderful Christmas treat to be able to absolutely print like a mother fucker. Thank you for the wonderful gifts, honestly wonderfully thought out. No idea who sent em but if you're the one let me know! // Also I think it's time for an update to that character post. Wife Time.

The Platinum Pokemon League
11/11/23
Aaron
Tumblr media
Ok here goes nothing I hope I'm ready. Instead of starting with Houndoom I know that Yanmega is first and FAST so I send in Jolteon who can one shot with thunderbolt. This works perfectly meaning 1/5 is dowin already. In next is Heracross. I don't know what to expect here so I assume closs combat and switch into Gliscor. With the drop in Def that means Aerial ace OHKOs taking out a dangerous pokemon. Next in is Drapion and so I do a few calculations. We both 2HKO each other but I outspeed. I take the risk and I am right and two Earthquakes removes the drapion. Next in is Scizor, I switch to Bastiodon who tanks but I remember I can't toxic stall so I hope for a safe switch into houndoom which I get allowing me to outspeed and use flamethrower to OHKO both Scizor and Vespiquen. Not a walk over of a battle definitely needed thought but a success none the less.
Bertha
Tumblr media
Ok Bertha! I start with Empoleon hoping for a bit of a sweep. Alas unlikely. Grass knot doesn't quite take out whiscash allowing it to get an earthpower. This means I probably can't survive an earthquake. Hippowdon comes in and sets up sandstorm. I go for surf anyway and get the OHKO. Gliscor comes in who can outspeed and take me out with Earthquake so I switch to my own gliscor avoiding it. We both use Ice fang but mine is first and freezes hers!!! She goes for a fill restore allowing me to heal lock and take her Gliscor out. Next up is Golem and it can't actually touch gliscor with its only move that would work being fire punch. So I earthquake to remove him. Rhyperior is last with a whole bunch of nasty moves including avalanche. Knowing its coming I switch back to empleon who eats it up and use surf to take it out. I get worried for a second that Sandstorm may save it but there was no need to worry. 2/4 elite members down.
Flint
Tumblr media
Thank god not a terrible one! Finally I can sweep! Gliscor heads in vs Houndoom who is the worst he can face. I go for Swords dance to set up. Flame thrower does HALF DAMAGE! I'm shocked but now I'm fast and strong. I manage to OHKO houndoom and Magmortar. Infernape outspeeds scarily gets off a flare blitz which thankfully does not kill! only 23 hp off though. Earthquake can then OHKO the infernape and Flareon before rapidash who I do switch for as it goes for bounce. Empoleon goes in and can finish it with a slow surf. I'm pretty tense but I am happy it worked!
Lucian
Tumblr media
Gosh, A lot of narrow misses so far the stress is up there. This time its time to pull in Froslass! I got choice specs from celestic townwhich should give me the edge. Doing so allows me to OHKO Mr. Mime. Bronzong comes in next who is super dangerous. My shadow ball does 50% damage and gets the sp. def drop which is very lucky because it uses calm mind! Another Shadow ball remove him. Next in is Espeon which is again and easy OHKO. Then comes in Gallade. I go for shadowball but cannot OHKO and take a real nasty Stone edge. I switch over to poseidon who can tank a second stone edge and chip away with surf. Here Gallade begins using drain punch and gets back a lot of health. I use this to pivot back into my very low froslass who is immune to the drain punch and can pull off the shadow ball to finish him off. Last in is the super fast Alakazam but also the only effective move Alakazam has on Froslass is psychic. So I switch to Houndoom, I must have not been thinking and press Flamethrower because Alakazam got burned and I can'r remember how. Knowing now that it will go to focus blast I can simply switch back and forth between froslass when Alakazam uses focus blast and Houndoom when he is using psychic and just watch the hp trickle down. Honestly type switching has been a blast this game.
Cynthia
Tumblr media
Ok last one and I have no real plan here... surprisingly I'm not too worried now. I can let some go down but I'm scared I'm gonna fluff it!
Spoilers: I very nearly fluff it.
I start Bastiodon vs Spiritomb. I go toxic and slowly whittle the spiritomb down. Annoyingly she can out pace my damage thanks to full restores. After her first she switches out into Milotic which I cannot handle with Bastiodon and I really do not want to toxic thanks to Marvel scale. I switch to Jolteon who does about 50% damage with thunderbolt while taking the same from surf. Fortunately her second surf gets Jolteon down to 10 hp as I manage to finish Milotic off. With that comes in the dreaded Garchomp. I decide Oh! I know! I can use thunderwave to cripple it... its a ground type. I actually outspeed before going down to flame thrower. Dumb move but in the end I know Jolteon was going. I send in Empoleon hoping to get some damage with Ice beam. This is where I flunk I should use empoleon as earthquake bait and switch into gliscor, I decide to go for it and Empoleon is OHKO'd by Earthquake... Shit. Empoleon didn't have much use this battle anyway but would have been a solid back up pokemon. Down to 4 pokemon vs. 5 I switch into Gliscor. Fortunately Dragon rush only does about a third damage and two ice fangs from Gliscor takes Garchomp out! Win! Not over yet though. Togekiss comes in, Gliscor can't outpace much more damage but get a little chip on Togekiss he does go down to an air slash. I send in Froslass who finishes the job taking out togekiss before going down herself to Spiritomb. I deal a decent enough amount of damage to send in Houndoom. Annoyingly she heals but this means Houndoom can 2HKO to remove the creepy cauldron. This leaves two more with only a half health Bastiodon and Houndoom who until this point has been my weakest pokemon... but with lucario and Roserade left we just might do this!
I outspeed Lucario and OHKO!
I outspeed Roserade and... it falls into the red. Scared it's all over she only uses toxic! Another flamethrower OHKOs after Cynthia heals which means by the skin of my teeth I won!!!!

Pokéchronology, Volume I: Yellow
Day 6
This post will be on the shorter side, as I didn't have much time to play thanks to being much busier at work today. I also ended up playing through a pretty long sequence, which didn't help but in the end I think things worked out nicely.
If you don't like Pokémon Yellow spoilers, don't keep reading!
Getting Organized
Before going off to progress the game, I want to sort out a few things. First, there are some other Pokémon I caught earlier that I hadn't mentioned. I write these posts at the end of the day so I have to try and remember every little thing that happened, and it's hard to keep track of all the Pokémon I catch.
So, I've got a Magnemite named Insanic, a Drowzee named Sumba, another Clefairy named Berryfairy, Doug the Diglett, and Gnatman the Venonat. I might have mentioned Gnatman already. Told you it's hard to keep track. Maybe I should write some condensed notes as I do things, but I dunno. It'd probably be way too annoying to stop every time I catch a Pokémon. A better idea would be to just look at my box in the PC before calling it quits and writing a post.
Moving on. I debated about whether I should evolve my Eevee into Flareon or Vaporeon. At first glance, Flareon seems like the more attractive option, since I didn't yet have a good Fire type. On the other hand, Vaporeon learns Ice moves, which give me coverage against Dragon types that might become a problem later. In the end I decided on Vaporeon as I felt I could deal with all the types Fire would give me an edge against easily enough.
Unfortunately, Starry didn't learn any Water moves after evolving for some reason. No matter, as I would need to level them up to gain access to their Ice moves anyway. To that end, I visited the daycare to reclaim Pear, who was now on the cusp of evolving into Fearow, who I plan on teaching Fly to once I get the HM. I replaced them with Starry and set off to check out Saffron City.
Saffron City
I only planned on checking out what this city had to offer before heading off to Route 16 and going to some of the other gyms. I'm not ready to challenge Sabrina yet; her Pokémon are all Psychic type of course, which is only resisted by itself and they're all level 50, while my Pokémon are still considerably below that.
As it happens, I couldn't enter Saffron Gym even if I wanted to, as Team Rocket has descended upon the city like a plague. I would put a stop to that soon enough, but I wanted to explore the city some more.
Compared to Celadon, there's really not much going on in Saffron City. I got the TM for Psychic, which I used on Miles, by going to "Mr. Psychic's" House. Other than that there seems to just be the Silph Building, which is the center of trouble in the city. Maybe there will be more to do here later, but for now it's rather barren despite its size.
Silph Building
On to the main event. Team Rocket is at it again, and as usual it's up to me, a 10 year-old kid apparently, to fuck up their shit. But this time, the Pokémon they command in battle are noticeably stronger. They're in the high 20's at a minimum, with some surpassing 30. One of the Rockets or Scientists even had five Pokémon if I remember correctly. The only Pokémon I had above level 30 were Prinzessin, Miles, and Mycoboss, and not by much.
At the end of the day though, they're all Pokémon I can dispatch with ease. In fact, that's why my highest leveled Pokémon are what they are; the game keeps spamming me with Normal and Poison types, which Prinzessin and Miles, respectively, excel at dispatching.
It wasn't long before I got the TM for Earthquake as well. You know what that means: Prinzessin now has a VERY strong Ground move at her disposal, which she gets STAB for, and makes her into the ultimate counter to Electric types. Not only is she straight up immune to Electric, she's also able to demolish them in a single attack. Every Voltorb and Magnemite that previously gave me trouble with their fixed-damage moves and lack of weakness to my team is now as good as dead.
As I battled my way through Rockets and Scientists and a random Juggler whose gimmick seems to be that they switch Pokémon unlike other trainers, I got a ton of useful items. I had to make a couple trips out of the building to stash the goodies because there were so many (again, this is where the lack of inventory space becomes frustrating. I hope this restriction gets removed quickly in subsequent generations).
The Gary Cometh
Eventually, I found my way into the isolated room on one of the floors, where I once again come face to face with who else but Gary. Since it hasn't been that long since the last battle with him, I wasn't expecting too much different from him. Sure, he's got that Fearow but BIG RAT knows Thunderbolt now. I shouldn't have too much trouble.
Boy, was I wrong, because Jesus CHRIST his Pokémon are strong. Their levels are all in the high 30's at least, essentially 10 levels above all my Pokémon, AND they're all fully evolved. Gary opens with his newly-evolved Sandslash. Thinking I could simply destroy it, I brought out Ominous and got hit by a Sand Attack. Sandslash is faster though, and they deal a whopping 70 damage to Ominous with Slash before I can even get off a Bubble Beam. My move hits, but it doesn't even deal half of Sandslash's HP in damage. We're off to a rough start. Ominous is my best counter to Sandslash, so I have to keep it out but I need to use a Super Potion to keep it alive. Sandslash uses Sand Attack again, giving Ominous a chance to attack once more. They get hit with another critical Slash, and dropped to low HP again. Miraculously, my second Bubble Beam connects, and deals a critical hit, taking out Sandslash.
Next is Ninetales. A much easier opponent to fight compared to Sandslash. I keep Ominous out and heal them again. My first Bubble Beam misses, but I land the second one and deal enough damage to drop Ninetales below half HP. One more Bubble Beam shuts down Ninetales.
Cloyster comes in, and I take a moment to decide who to switch to with Ominous being wounded and without a type advantage. Given the level difference between my Pokémon and Gary's, I thought that fighting defensively would be the best option. I switch to Mycoboss, intending to use Mega Drain to outlast Cloyster. What I failed to realize was that Cloyster knows Aurora Beam, and is an Ice type to boot. Mycoboss is annihilated in a single hit. Having no choice, I send in BIG RAT, the only other Pokémon I have with a type advantage. A Thunderbolt makes a considerable dent in Cloyster's HP, but I would need two more to defeat it. I get in a second Thunderbolt and Cloyster just barely survives. Unfortunately, BIG RAT wasn't fully healed, and he fell to Cloyster's Aurora Beam. The only Pokémon I have left that's not weak to this move is Miles, so I send him in to finish the job.
Gary's penultimate Pokémon is Kadabra. I realize I need Mycoboss alive to take them down, though in hindsight I could have kept Miles in and used Body Slam to deal damage while resisting Kadabra's powerful Psychic moves. I use a Revive and send Mycoboss back in. I take a lot of damage from the Confusion, but Leech Life heals some of it back and deals a lot of damage in return. But the next move that hits Mycoboss is Psybeam, which is MUCH more powerful. Mycoboss just barely survives, with only 3 HP remaining to finish off Kadabra.
Finally, Jolteon comes in. They're Gary's highest level Pokémon, at level 40. I wasn't remotely worried, though. One thing that's been consistent throughout every Gary battle except for the first two is that my strongest Pokémon has an OVERWHELMING advantage over his starter. This puny Electric type can do nothing to me. I switch to Prinzessin. Jolteon misses their Pin Missile. Then misses it again. I say "lol see ya nerd" and one-shot them with Earthquake.
Getting the Master Ball
With Gary suffering another consecutive defeat against me, I speak to the Silph employee standing nearby and receive a Lapras. I named them Holy, because holy shit it's a Lapras. I return to the ninth floor of the Silph Building to heal, then proceed to the eleventh to crash Team Rocket's business meeting.
Jessie and James pathetically challenge me again only to get swept by one Prinzessin again. Then it's time for Giovanni to make his next appearance. He poses a bit more of a challenge this time, as he has a Nidoqueen of his own. Since Giovanni had sent out Rhyhorn just before though, I already had Ominous out ready to destroy her because she's still weak to Water. It seems Gary challenged me because he wanted to make sure I was ready to take on Giovanni, but he probably should have done it the other way around. Anyway, the Master Ball is now mine.
Wow, what a ride. That Gary fight was probably the best I've had so far, and it could have gone a lot worse. If I hadn't gotten lucky with move RNG, from what Gary's Pokémon used to hitting with reduced accuracy and landing a crit at a crucial moment, I would have been in for a much tougher fight. I just realized that Pin Missile is a Bug type move as well, which Prinzessin is actually weak to. If it managed to hit more than a couple of times, I might have been in trouble because Jolteon easily outspeeds Prinzessin.
One thing I've learned from this battle is that I need some way to deal with Ice moves. Most of my Pokémon are soft to Ice, and I have to expect that I'll run into that Cloyster again in my next showdown with Gary. Which means ideally, I'd have a Pokémon that resists Ice and can use moves that are super effective against Water. The best I had for resistance was Water types, but Vaporeon can't learn any Electric moves. I did some research and eventually realized that the Lapras I just got would be perfect for this.
Not only is Lapras Water/Ice type, which gives them maximum resistance to Ice moves, they also learn Ice moves of their own, and they're capable of learning Thunderbolt via TM. As if that wasn't enough, Lapras has excellent stats and makes for an extremely potent Special attacker. And here I'm stuck with a Vaporeon because I didn't think I would be getting a much better user of Ice moves pretty much immediately.
Training up Lapras is therefore one of my top priorities. I don't think there will be much that's able to stand in my way once that's accomplished. I'm already set to demolish all of the gyms going forward, which just leaves the Pokémon League. I don't know what's in store for me there, but as much as possible, I'd like to be prepared. Once I've beaten most of the gyms, I'll make sure my team is ready for anything.

I figured I should actually, like, do things based on Fire type. To the shock of no one, the only difficulty is remembering which parameters I had. All my losses were "Whoops, forgot to shift off that parameter."
Vs. Glacia I had to kill her first. She's the biggest threat. I opted for SS Hilda, who is basically a kill button once you remove Hail. Tech Ninetales had that on lock. I went with Evelyn as support just because Hilda wants for nothing else, so it was pretty free, and to keep Ninetales alive.
Vs. Molayane Silver Sweep. As long as Sun is up, Silver's fine. Marley caps his Inertia sync, and if you're lucky gets Flag Bearer for +5 Silver Attack before she drops dead. She is not good at taking hits, and the EX would not have saved this. Foolishly, I forgot to uncheck the Interference Immunity one, so Blaine couldn't trap. Oops.
Vs. Grimsley Kalos Neighbors! I actually liked this one. Kiawe is very non-optimal, but he got the job done. It was this or MC Torchic, and Kiawe has actual bulk. Calem actually does pretty respectable numbers, and Serena's lockdown on sleep lets him put up a lot of pressure. The one downside is that Calem has a 50% burn rate. Meaning he can accidentally turn off Serena's sleep. But by then, Serena's able to pivot into Overheat and their dual offense easily trucks the remainder of the stage.
Vs. Koga I had to give one to Lodge Irida, and I opted to run her with Eevee Lucas for the sheer comedy of dual Flareon. For a brief, horrid moment, I actually lamented not having Tina for Triple Flareon. But I don't think it would've gone well, and the Sun was a welcome benefit. Though man now I'm questioning it. Hmm... Anyway, Irida's sync is fantastic so long as the target is burned, and that's all Lucas needed to do. Morty just tanks, while Irida can flinch to get us to second sync, then Flare Blitz sides.
Vs. Red At this point I decided to be snotty, and do my favorite NC Leaf thing: tanking. Leaf can't change weather right away, so I brought Anni N to debuff offenses for survival. It wasn't necessary. May provides the crit rate for N as well, so he's free to use just his trainer move. The final blow was actually N's. Yeah, turns out his Blue Flare hit for like 14k under Sun and with debuffs, and just deleted what remained of Red and the side. Oops? Anyway, NC Leaf/SS May is stupid powerful.

Truth and Lies. I've Lied A Lot On This Blog. Sorry, y'all.
So, I'm going to be officially 26 soon. I finally remembered I made this account.
I got a DM from someone who was actually in Plasma and I have to come clean.
Most, if not all, of the details in my about page and this blog in general are fake. As well as the details I've given on other websites. Most of y'all probably don't know me, so I'll try and also give examples/context.
The Things I've Claimed, and are Lies:
I was in Team Plasma. I was almost arrested for it. Truth: I was not in Plasma. I did date someone in Team Plasma and the police did question me after the Opelucid City freeze, but nothing ever happened to me about it as I wasn't involved.
The stuff about the Entree link Portal, with the mystery dungeons. Truth: Yeah, those photos aren't mine. I found them in old websites online and I posted them here. Sorry to those three dudes who messages me their conspiracy theories about it!
I own an Espeon named Enigma and a Leafeon named Lum and a Flareon named Figy. Truth: I do not. I've Pokemon-sat for the owners of those Pokemon. The Espeon is training to be a show-mon. The Flareon is a retired show-mon. I am a dirty liar. The Leafeon was a rescue that a family friend owns, he helps her garden and he got the ear scars from fighting off a Watchog, not from anything illegal.
I work with Fennel. Truth: I do not work with Fennel. I did mon-sit for her Munna, Dream, a few times, and I apologized for the online posts to her. I've also apologized to anyone else I've posted about online, and given them back their cash they paid me if they wanted it. So far only one person took me up on that offer and I respect that.
I made one other blog, it was full of lies too, but it was basically the same lies from what I remember.
Truths about me, whether they were on my blog or not:
My cousins breed Eevees as a side income to their big business most of them are involved in, and I Poke-sit a lot of Eevees for them and their fancy business friends, so most of the Eevees you see on my blog were ones I've taken care of.
I live in Unova. I do not have a criminal record. I've never been arrested or gotten into any trouble for my own actual bad choices.
I grew up sheltered and don't know how much things like food or housing should cost to most people. I'm used to spending without a budget and not worrying about it due to living with my grandmother to take care of her. I recently had to cut back majorly on my spending and it put a lot of things into perspective, which is one of the reasons I'm telling the truth here on this blog.
I make bad life choices. But not bad like joining a gang. Bad like writing stories online because I was bored and frustrated with my own life. Bad like toxic relationships that I still think of fondly, which isn't healthy. I am the cringiest ducklet in the pond.
I am now in school for some prerequisite classes to get my degree in giving x-rays to humans! I've been in clinicals at a human hospital and I do not want to work in Pokemon medicine. For Pokemon, I know how to give fluids, shots, cure most simple battling conditions and scrapes, but I'm no Nurse Joy and I don't want to be one.
I do own Pokemon. Three non-battling Pokemon. A Skarmory that my Grandmother bought me roughly a year ago so I could use it to get around, he is trained to be transport instead of batling. An old lady Torracat that was my Grandmother's Torracat, she has to get IV fluids every few days as she's in late stage kidney disease due to old age. And a young Purrloin that's a pretty gray color that I rescued from underneath my uncles car when he was a kitten. They don't battle. I don't battle. I don't have time for it. My Torracat can't battle for health issues, even though she wants to and she was a terror on all the neighborhood Pokemon, and my Purrloin is scared of battling, and scared of most everything. Skarmory doesn't battle because he was trained from hatching to be a flying transport Pokemon.
So sorry for everyone I lied to!
This is Keen-Umbreon, signing off, probably rather obnoxiously. I could have just let this blog fade into even-more-obscurity, but leaving the lies out there felt bad.
If I do make another blog, it will be about the Eeveelutions and other Pokemon I've sat for, with the permission of the owners and not posting as if I own them. I was scummy, and I will do better.
((OOC: Figured this was a better end than the end that happened in our Pokerole campaign. A lot less of a "Look at Me" style end. Might seem like a cop-out or something, but it's also inspired by my teenage adventures online. I was a lying little crap back in the day. I got called out and learned my lesson then. Figured it would be like a book-end to mirror that irl journey here. Instead of giving the character the send-off he had in our partly-homebrewed Pokerole campaign, where he ended up turning into a Pokemon and going feral and the world was doomed lol. Cuz that's very "Look At Me". It works for home-brewed Pokerole but not here.))
