in other news i was in a&e for 12 hours but that's not even the best bit the best bit is the nhs has been assfucked so hard by rishi sunak that on thursday night 10pm i went in and was there until 4am and all they managed to do was a single test and then told me i needed to wait another 4 hours for results because they were so shortstaffed they literally could not do it any sooner so i went home (i live 5 minutes away from the hospital) when people who had been waiting there for even longer than me started clashing with security over how long they were stuck in the waiting room for and then i went back the next morning friday 10am and at long fucking last had a catheter stuck in my arm at 2:30pm after a blood test to prepare for dialysis then wasn't seen again until two hours with a thick ass tube in my arm just fucking about in the waiting room before they decided i do not in fact require dialysis after all and rather i should be presented with a multicoloured corsage of antibiotics to make sure my girlfailure kidneys behave as kidneys should. england is broken without repair and the gods gave our king cancer after he doubled his wages in media res of the cost of living crisis. thank you thank you thank you @memphisbelle and @legobrickcow for bringing me breakfast and visiting me twice when i was at my grimmest i adore you both

#I rolled it a few days ago #don't know what happened. I was walking one second and the next my ankle went under me and I was going down. #accidentally clipped poor Neko on the way down #and I just sort of laid there for a second before getting back up #it does seem to be just a roll. no swelling or bruising or the specific pain of a sprain. #but it does seem to have set me back a bit bc I'm once again getting aches #WHERE I HAD CEASED ACHING #like look I know that recovery isn't linear esp with a complicated injury like mine #but COME ON I was doing SO WELL #the agonizingly slow PT was WORKING #the worst part is I don't know what happened #I'm thinking maybe I slipped on a dog toy? #otherwise it literally just happened while I was walking which is uh Bad #I haven't had instability like that in months thanks to PT #anyways I wore my brace to work the rest of the week and toned down my at home PT exercises #but I'm pissed #I also think I bruised my knee when I feel and slightly pulled a muscle in my left arm #tho those could have happened from literally anything bc I'm accident prone and bruise easily! #speechie sucks at health #(more like speechie sucks at ankles jfc) #speecher speaks

One coaching challenge I'm running into is that we have an 11th grader on the team who is incredibly advanced. Like, so far above everyone else's skill level it's unreal. And her goal is to dance at a D1 college, which means that I've been watching technique videos for the last two weeks (and I'm nowhere near done) to try and find anything to help her keep leveling up.

The bright side of this whole experience is that I have run into SO many helpful notes to give my intermediate dancers to make sure they keep progressing, too.

#it feels like i've only got 1 year to make her feel prepared for college auditions even though she's still got 2 more years of high school #like at the dance camp we had last month #the instructors told her they think she could make a team like boise state #which is a HUGE deal because they're incredibly competitive #but like she's so far beyond anyone in the room skill-wise (coach and dancer) that trying to keep her progressing requires so much research #also her ego about the whole thing is so nonexistent so it makes it easy to spend all this time lol #i can tell she feels like she's not progressing though #which means i'm over here frantically googling: advanced stretching techniques and advanced leap technique and back flexibility routines #and how to keep progressing oversplits and ankle strength exercises #she's the sweetest kid i just want her to feel like she's getting something out of this experience #my coaching adventures

there’s so much i wanna do this week/month/etc but i’m just too sick, i have no energy, i can’t sleep, i’m constantly nauseous and headachey and on the verge of a migraine, i’m stressed and irritable and impatient and panicky…….how tf did i survive nearly 5 years of high school untreated if i can’t even manage this when i don’t have any major obligations rn

#at least i finally got my meds so hopefully i feel a little better soon #although i’m now on 20 pills per day which is Just Great #whenever i’m in remission it’s nice to just. forget sometimes that this can happen at any time #kinda wish i had the typical kinda chronic illness that people talk about with ‘flares’ #or at least triggers that i can plan around #the other times have all had an easily identifiable stressor tho tbf. idk what caused this one #the first time was whooping cough and the next few were all very major life stressors like my cat dying right after i started uni #and i think also towards the end of my honours thesis? #but this…….there’s no major stress right now. nothing wildly beyond normal #i’m a little concerned about my joints tho. they’ve been so much worse than normal the last few months #so i’m kinda worried i’m developing rheumatoid arthritis (also an autoimmune disease and it runs in the family specifically) #so if that’s happening then it could set my thyroid off? probably should get to the doctor at some point #obv i’m seeing my endo for thyroid stuff. but i should see my gp and get her to run all the autoimmune blood tests again #i’ve done that before but it’s been a few years and my ankles and knees are so painful i can’t even walk properly a lot of the time #BUT I JUST WANNA DO THINGS I ENJOY AND I CANT AND I WILL CONTINUE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT IT #‘oh you’re so lucky you don’t have as many obligations because you’re chronically ill’ ha ha ha please swap lives with me immediately #personal #but seriously. i wasn’t diagnosed until i was nearly 17 and we can trace it back to whooping cough when i was 12 #so it was the last half of year 6 and then all of years 7-10 and the start of year 11 of just being. uh. ‘very lazy and complaining a lot’ #and TEACHERS joking about me and my sister (who was dealing with an arguably more severe undiagnosed disease) missing so many classes #wow so funny pdhpe teacher who’s supposed to be teaching is about health #and the thing with being a mentally ill teenager is that hyperthyroidism can just look like a very severe anxiety disorder #so i didn’t go to the dr until i was too sick to go to school at all. and luckily had a good dr who did a blood test #i’m just rambling now because i can’t sleep and i don’t wanna lie here doing nothing #might go play pvz or something. that’s been keeping me entertained
