A Dodge Ram needs a new wheel bearing.
This week, we performed diagnostic testing on the truck, which was towed in. Its anti-lock braking system (ABS) light and traction light are on.
The hub bearing is shifting when the wheel and rotor move from side to side. This movement caused damage to components, like an axle and brake caliper.
If your ABS light comes on or the brake system doesn’t seem to be working correctly, set up a car appointment as soon as possible.

Enigma’s Plot Bunnies → Hopeless Wanderer
"Are these guys friends or food?"
"Food! Definitely food!"
"Finally. I'm starving."
Surviving the Kinzokou Town fighting pit Hanako was forced into was arduous but easy. She never lost a fight and, since she’d been born into a cannibal tribe, the pit gave her an endless supply of food. But it wasn’t her home and she longed to be free. Nyssa had always come to her rescue before, but not this time. It was a long eight years in that cage, waiting for her dearest friend. Instead, a rubber kid claiming he was going to be King of the Pirates came and changed everything.
Hanako hated pirates, she hated sailing, but at least these pirates didn't use seastone to cage and control her. And they didn't even seem to mind her bear form, mostly. Her eating people still bothered most of them. "Friends aren't food," Luffy told her. Unless they were in a fight, then it was okay.
Hanako would do whatever her Captain ordered. She'd adapt to the sea. She'd get used to an altered albeit balanced diet. She'd have a real job as Sanji's sous chef, his idea. She'd go to the Grand Line and help Luffy achieve his dream because he'd saved her and she owed him. But she had dreams of her own. Hanako was going to prove she wasn't the monster the Kinzokou townspeople made her believe she was, and she was going to find Nyssa if it was the last thing she did.

JUST. RUSTBELT. THINGS.
I mentioned a few weeks ago that the LF had been a trial and a half getting off and on when I switched over to my snows. I didn’t feel great about it, so I was gonna see how it felt and retorque. This was in the middle of my Expensive Car Surgery Adventure while he was home for a week, so it ended up that most of my “keep an eye on this” miles were not driven by me, but by the shop doing test drives, LOL. They didn’t notice anything, because they don’t know him, but familiarity with how the road should feel + familiarity with how the car should feel = I was pretty sure after I got him back something wasn’t QUITE right.
So I took the wheel off and spent some quality time brushing the rust out of the studs and in the centers of the lug nuts. Rinse and repeat until all lugs twisted on to satisfaction, torque to 45, then to 89. And LO. AND BEHOLD. Mini vibration gone. I kind of felt like a NASCAR driver dreaming up a vibration with 5 to go while leading, but I honestly do not think I’m just placebo effecting myself here.
This feels especially gratifying because this past spring a lugnut fiasco shore three of my studs of at highway speed and that was. Not fun!!! So I feel like I’ve learned from past mistakes.
Though to be honest I’ll also say that I just assumed that vibration was bad roads, which I think is an incredibly valid argument for why road maintenance is a safety issue. The roads where I live now are beautiful!

Introduction to Shamanism
Have you ever wondered about Shamans, Shamanism and where it all happens?
I am giving a talk/presentation on the 21st March at The Wellbeing Hub in Bridgeton Glasgow. This is ahead of the Introduction to Shamanic Journeying event that will be happening on the 23rd of March which will be a time when you get to actually connect with a Power Animal, or at least you will be taught the skill of how…

Wheel Hub Bearing
A wheel hub bearing is a component that supports the wheel and allows smooth rotation. It consists of inner and outer rings, rolling elements, and a cage. Vital for vehicle stability and steering, it endures dynamic loads while minimizing friction, contributing to safe and efficient driving.
What Are the Functions of Wheel Hub Bearing?
Wheel hub bearings are crucial components in vehicles, responsible for enabling smooth and friction-free rotation of the wheels. They support the weight of the vehicle and facilitate the transfer of driving forces from the axle to the wheels while maintaining proper alignment. Wheel hub bearings also play a significant role in absorbing various road forces, such as shocks, vibrations, and lateral loads, ensuring stability and comfort during driving. Additionally, these bearings are integral to maintaining accurate wheel alignment, minimizing tire wear, and enhancing overall vehicle safety and performance on the road.
How To Maintain the Wheel Hub Bearing?
Maintaining wheel hub bearings involves several steps to ensure optimal performance and extend their lifespan.
Regularly inspect for signs of wear, such as noise, vibrations, or uneven tire wear. Keep the bearings properly lubricated according to the manufacturer's recommendations, using the appropriate type of grease.
Prevent contamination by ensuring seals are intact and free from debris, moisture, or dirt.
Regularly check the torque of the axle nut to avoid over-tightening or under-tightening, which can affect bearing performance. If any issues are detected, promptly address them to prevent further damage.
Regular maintenance not only extends the life of wheel hub bearings but also contributes to safe and efficient vehicle operation.

A Ram had a blown out hub bearing. Normally, this part will go bad from daily wear and tear, and you can hear a roaring noise.
In this case, the wheels and tires were heavier, which expedited the wearing process. It also made it more difficult to hear that the truck had a bad hub bearing.
