remember when i said hs tango has beef with the cats

Everything after was a blur. The first minute Tango was coaxing the cat to come closer to him, the next he was on the ground, face littered with scratches and hair tangled with leaves and twigs. Jimmy ran over in worry, before breathing in relief to see the tan cat safe in Tango’s arms. There were no words as the angel scooped the feline from him, wings fluttering in delight as the cat snuggled into his hold as he began to walk away. “Not even a single, ‘are you okay?’ or a ‘thank you so much, Tango!’” he huffed.

If Jimmy calling out Tango’s name countless times didn’t manage to wake him, the shaking definitely did. Through half-lidded eyes, he saw Jimmy staring intently at him, definitely too close but not too close for Tango- in his tired state- to do anything about it. 

“Tango,” he said.

“…huh…”

“There’s a cat outside,”

“….and…?”

“And it needs your help,”

“….my help?” The angel nodded enthusiastically. Tango propped himself on his elbows, meeting Jimmy’s eyes.

“Jimmy, why does a cat outside need my help?”

“It’s stuck on a tree. And it won’t come down,”

Tango hummed, setting himself down, head on his folded arms. It didn’t take long for Jimmy to start shaking him again.

“Tango! You need-” Jimmy cut himself off with a laugh. “-you need to get it down!” 

When Tango failed to reply, choosing to ignore his pleas, he felt the mattress of his bed shift under Jimmy’s weight as the blonde leaned forward.

“Come on…Please? For me?” Jimmy tried again, voice quieter but closer than before, and sure enough, when Tango turned his head, Jimmy’s face just an inch away, wearing his usual angelic look he found so hard to say no to. He groaned and stood up knowing this was no exception.

Oooh anon, good you brought it up - I just realised I vaguely elaborated on this on twitter but didn't get the chance to here.

(Although I want to preface, these types of details are totally up for interpretation, I'm never stingy about it. If you like the idea that he beat the shit out of bullies, by all means, I wouldn't put it past him - he's a moody teen and probably takes huge issue with stuff like that since people have attempted to subject him to it at times. I definitely considered giving him some history as a delinquent, more as a 14-16 year old than the current HSAU timeline, but that's a whole other story)

First, I just want to clarify the obvious - no highschooler looks like that, the comic was done through Luffy's POV so it's absolutely a hyper-fantasized version of whatever Luffy was seeing, which was a lot more muscle definition than there actually was 😂

That isn't to say Law ISN'T fit for this AU - Law's reason for being fit is... pretty silly, maybe, but it's because Law was pretty active as a kid anyway because Corazon was - da-dum - a professional volleyball player, and would practice with Law as a pasttime together.

As Law grew older and out of playing volleyball (although just to note - Law is great at the sport, just doesn't care to play it in highschool), Corazon just made him adopt a casual habit of fitting exercise into his week ("if you're not going to go out and see some sunlight, then at least eat your vitamin D gummies and fit in some activity during the day" etc. Appropriately health conscious since he's an ex-athlete. He's okay with Law doing whatever he wants so long as he's happy, safe, and healthy to the best of his abilities.)

On top of that, Corazon is a pretty big guy, makes pretty big portions for dinner, and as a result, Law (also being a pretty tall guy) eats a lot too. It's both passive and intentional effort, maintaining his physique.

YOU OPENED THE FLOODGATES, I'm going to elaborate EVEN more for something that might feel irrelevant, but you're totally free to skip this part if you want to avoid HSAU "spoilers" 😂

Law and Kidd used to date, and since Kidd (big, buff guy) enjoyed the gym and eating lots, Law would just go with him and they'd make dates out of it because they never went on "proper" dates anyway (candle lit dinners? Sitting in the park? Kidd vc: "That's some sappy loser shit")

YES you can I needed 2 make a proper Compilation Post anyway. Uhh here's a FULLY disorganized post of all the HSAU lore I can think of. There is a clear bias toward Ranboo here

- This is where I justify Rageboo - Anyway he and Technoblade are a Ragebound Derse dreamer Dancestor pair (Ranboo's a Maid, Techno's a Sylph) - There's at least four sessions at play -- the first is DTeam+Badlands maybe and was the creator of the universe w/ the initial L'Manberg session (roughly based around some of the S1 major actors) - And THAT session is scratched to generate the NLM session (roughly based around actors more significant in S2) - (how that division is drawn is... it is still complicated the only ones ik for SURE are that Wilbur Eret and Technoblade r in the former session and Tubbo and Ranboo are in the latter. Have not decided which one Tmmy is in. I wanted him to be in the same one as Tubbo bc he's a Time player to Tubbo's Space but it may not make sense? But it also might?) - The fourth session is another completed one: it's Philza's null session. Philza is a Doom player and he's beaten the session and now is hanging out in the cluster w/ everyone else - DreamXD is a First Guardian - The genetic sequence for DreamXD is written predominantly by Ranboo who does so much more consciously than usual - Especially laid groundwork via the Amnesiac (Ranboo as Techno's ancestor) who kind of went off the rails chasing cherubs which he thought he was somehow fatewise involved with bc he's a mutant red like Techno but he's also. Smth went Extra wrong so half his blood is the requisite candyred and half is the original lime - Ranboo who plays Sburb through related reasons ended up put in The Cherub Box for the first half of his life. It fucks him up - Then he gets to troll society which also fucks him up - So he has a propensity bc of those combined experiences for hiding parts of himself, compartmentalizing, caginess, trusting nobody except himself and not even himself for that matter, privately being Not A Fan of societal expectations in general, trying to look palatable anyway, and also sitting alone in his room. You could say he's. You could say he's Homestu - The Bloodgod (Techno as Ranboo's ancestor) fought Dream (fully realized cherub) and Won. He got the horrorterrors retroactively in the brains of every iteration of him for his troubles - this is what allows Techno who plays Sburb to get the survivors out of the scratched LM1 session into the NLM session after Wilbur scratches the initial session on Nov 16th though so  - Dream is a cherub btw that's kind of relevant to the above - Ranb and Techno r trolls (as mentioned above, they're lime/mutant candyred w/ Ranb having the blood weirdness and Techno bein just str8 red. Them) - Unsure abt jack anything else - To go back 2 Tubbo. So you know how the Space player is traditionally assisted by the Knight in breeding the genesis frog. - Tubbo's classpect is the Knight of Space that man is on his own - Whatever happens in Tubbo's session, Tubbo is basically left functionally to breed the frog on his own - While YOU were FUCKING AROUND going into RETIREMENT and DOING FETCH QUESTS, TUBBO was TRYING TO WIN THE FUCKING GAME - He ends up ghosting Doom. This is a thing you can do I chedked the fucking literature okay ghosting is not definitionally just your opposite aspect it's just acting your aspect in a way that outwardly (intentionally or not) evokes another Tubbo ghosts Doom - Dream and Tubbo both Prospit dreamers btw I only just realized this but yeah - Niki Life player also - Quackity Hope player - I don't remember what the meta was for this one but Wilbur Light - Oh and the literal only land I have worked out is Ranboo's which is LoRaO (Land of Rivers and Obsidian) - Anyway Techno has a whole Sylph of Rage arc he does it with his session he does it in NLM he may godtier in the equivalent of the Butcher Army? - If there is an Alternia/Beforus similarity w/ the sessions here Techno is definitely on the Alternia one. He's having a time - He also has to deal with (and be. I am an apologist but. There's a reason I classpected him the way I did) the concept of Sylph (derogatory) of Rage (derogatory) - Idk what his land is. I could make a potato joke but I feel that's low hanging fruit. Smth to do with the Arctic maybe... - He's definitely one of the first 2 be in contact with Philza also - I also Only have his and Ranboo's typing quirks worked out bc of course:

Hi Rachel, a huge fan of your (and Chim's) LoT fics here. My friend and I are thinking about collaborating on hc-ing and possibly even writing out some stuff together, but we're not sure how writing together works. I only have a vague idea of drafting out hcs together, and perhaps each write out some paragraphs based on the drafts we made together, and then editing together. If you don't mind sharing, do you have any advice or tips in terms of writing together?

hi anon! this is a very cool ask to get, i'm not entirely sure i have good advice to give but i'll do my best!

firstly, i'm a Big fan of writing with people - it's cool to get to share your ideas before you've put things on paper, it's great so you can motivate each other, and also at times it's a bit like having someone write the exact fic you want to read.

chim and i writing together almost always starts with us messaging each other back and forth with endless hcs (that are often solely designed to emotionally wreck each other) and then continuing to build on them and getting so invested in our worlds we've created that we want to share them with everyone else too. the biggest advice i have is using google docs or something similar - we usually come up with a plan, then write scenes or parts of scenes alone based on our hcs, then read over each others writing and edit, then do a final check that it's all cohesive before posting. it helps that our writing styles are quite similar, but when we were writing the hsau we found that our writing became more and more cohesive the more we wrote which was pretty cool

i know sometimes people prefer to write a chapter each and alternate when writing with a friend, i've never tried that and i don't think it's for me but play around and see what works for you and your friend!

Jimmy includes Tango in his daily prayers. It's like him giving gossip to God.

I know I've coloured Jimmy's wings as golden but they're white or offwhite that seems yellow under the light.

Tango knows that Jimmy is generally pretty clingy. He often finds Jimmy holding on to his wrist, his forearm, and especially his hand, but on some occasions, he notices that he'll squeeze Tango's hand three times. He doesn't understand why but one day he decides to reply, three squeezes back, and Jimmy is absolutely delighted. So from then on, Tango squeezes Jimmy's hand back each time. (It happens one morning. Jimmy is asleep and Tango holds his hands and he squeezes. Three times. It hits him what it means then. Now he finds himself doing this action every morning before Jimmy wakes.)

Tango isn't a religious man at all. So when he prays for the first time, he's surprised to hear an answer. (Tango: Hey God. God: Hey. Tango: What the fuck.) Jimmy thinks he's lying/messing with him. /j

When Tango leaves for long periods of time (10 minutes/j) Jimmy is just like a puppy waiting for him to get home and when he spots Tango, he quickly jumps him and Tango usually catches him and Jimmy tries to kiss Tango's face but they just end up bonking their head or falling flat on their asses.

Jimmy is awful at vocalizing his needs and wants. Best he can do is whine and hope Tango catches on. This does lead to difficulty in taking care of the fallen angel when Tango isn't really sure what Jimmy needs at the start. In lighter news, Tango absolutely teases the hell out of Jimmy for his inability to say what he wants. He'll lean in for a kiss and stop just as Jimmy mirrors him, much to Jimmy's dismay and annoyance. ("Tangoooo," "Huh, what's that? Did you want something, Jimmy? You're gonna have to use your big boy words," And when Jimmy pushes his lower lip forward, pursed in a small pout and Tango moves to close the gap he finds that it doesn't matter if Jimmy can't say the words when he ultimately gets what he wants.)

not news to u since you read the screenplay but all the white crown kids working together to build one (1) music box is chaotic good (nashua composes the tune, runia does the metal work, emile + maiko do the woodwork, usually emile doing the form and maiko any engravings bc she’s got the best handwriting/lettering skills)

oh man……….. a bunch of unnamed ocs that i only know vague facts and plot positions abt (a majority of a/s, sadly, but it’s just not time yet) for the main verse there is definitely damia who i make sporadic posts abt 

the neglected guy trio from lhnh: irias, hue & sinan who i’ve NEVER really posted abt but he’s hue’s boyfriend(?) however they decide to define what they have idk but hue definitely put a ring on him so yknow. very tall magician who plays a vital part in ending the war in lhnh, white hair for no reason, his eye color resembles Someone’s a lot which freaks sky out HEAVILY… (knife emoji) im always circling to bad content when i ramble, yikes

also there is fauve !!! she’s eliada’s assistant (idk if you know anything abt her besides what was in the screenplay??) she got stuck w an anti-aging curse at the prime age of 12 which gets funnier the more centuries pass. fun fact: both reina and gray are equally freaked out by her whenever they see her at eliada’s place

Let me tell you something, whatfulllipsyouhave, you may just be on the right track with how that kiss goes....

I've been switching between three ideas for how I wanted to go about their first kiss. Two are Law initiating, one is Luffy initiating - I won't say which one the game-winning kiss falls under in case I end up going with it, but that was definitely one of the ideas. Am I so obvious?!
