The 2nd and 4th houses are factories for soldiers.

The 8th are religious fanatics.

the ninth house a death cult

The 3rd is a cutthoat gossip hell with cannibalism produced by the CW

The 7th glorifies illness and suffering for no good reason.

The 6th is Academia....which is not a societal group known for there kindness.

We never get to see the cruelty of the 5th they are too polite for that, but no faction that much power without making hard choices over and over again.

The refugee worlds of Nona is a shitty scary place full of upset people.

these places sound horrible.

but over and over again, we see characters who love unselfishly characters who are are kind, character who trust, and characters who want the best for those around them.

Magnus and Abigail who can have no children of there own and instead care for wayward shitty teen.

Corona who cares are Judith even when Judith is almost impossible to care for.

Isaac who just wants to get home to all his little siblings, and Jeanmarie who treats Gideon nav as the older sister she never had.

Judith who just wants everyone to survive, even though she lacks the skill to articulate the desire.

Marta who is flawed and boring and honorable and funny. and who threw herself into battle for anyone she thought might have a point.

Colum Ast who has been worn down into nothing but still refused to break his word to a rude teenage girl who has been chattel her whole life as well.

Protessalous with his roses and his poetry and his kindness to Ortus who has forgotten how to have firends.

Dulcie with her need for truth.

Ortus Nigonad, who is the first person we ever really see form the ninth house who tried to make amends for his past neglect.

Aiglamine and Crux who could not love the children they way they needed to be loved, but they loved them all the same.

Mattius Nonius who came when called to defend people he had never met and who's only complaint was about talking in meter.

Camilla and Palamedes and there insistence that Nona get Agency! and Harrow get compassion, and that Gideon should get forgiveness and also extra food.

Pyrrha with her love, for her necromancer, for her almost daughter Gideon, for the woman she loved, and for the two young people she came to love.

Joli who I have a whole post about.

the Angel who was a vet and became a teacher and got the last of their students out.

we suffer who took a chance on crown, and pyrrha and teh sixth,

And Hot Sause who showed Nona how to forgive and the other children from the gang who cared for each other and Nona and their families.

and I've probably missed some, but these are characters who could turn away, say this isn't my problem, do less, but instead....they chose kindness.

for another ask, how about kidnapper!König and spicy food? I think he can handle a bit of spice but fucking brags about it so much that his kidnapped wife really believes it. So for the first time cooking dinner for him, she makes a spicy dish and puts in so much hot sause and peppers that the whole plate is red.

This man has an atrociously AUSTRIAN taste, he calls paprika too spicy and yells at Horangi for bringing his own food to the mercenary function because he claims that the air is too spicy to breathe around him now. He can brag about eating whole chili peppers and drinking as much hot sauce as he wants but in reality, he will fold after you add too much black pepper to his meat or something. He wouldn't survive, because in kidnapper!scenario, he just wants to eat food made by you, you finally started to come around like a good girl, playing housewife for him!! He couldn't resist your cooking even if the food was anime-style horrible, with pixelated purple colours and little smoke skulls flying around the plate. He is eating it like it's something made by angels themselves - and then, after the first bite, he is coughing violently and almost thinks it was all a trick, you wanted to kill him, to poison him and run away... Then he looks at your face, that little expression of your, naivety and sheer desire to make your kidnapper happy - he knows you're broken enough to never actually try anything, he is just...not really able to put his money where his mouth is, so to speak. He doesn't know how to tell you that he can't handle spicy food, you tried to hard to cook for him, he isn't an ungrateful asshole who will just put you in your cage for trying to please him! God, he is struggling. You made the poor man cry - his enemies would consider hiring you as a special assassin just for him.

Rick Grimes x female!reader

Warnings: season 5 Rick, kiss, cursing, Judith crying, Aaron looks at the reader for a second too long for Rick's liking, everything Rick does is hot

kinda short but I rushed because I have too any ideas for this. Kinda bad too. Sorry

Summary: When meeting a stranger in the woods, the group seeks out the stranger's cars. Leaving you and Rick with the stranger in the barn with Judith.

The rain had cleared up. Maggie and Sasha came back with a man. A man we did not know if he was bad or if he was good. We knew nothing about him. Rick was talking to the man, at least he was before he punched the man. You were holding Judith, since taking him from Carl's arms, and watched the toned man's back flex after the punch.

Michonne wanted to check out the man's words but Rick did not trust them. He was not going to put his kids and the group at risk over something a man said. Eventually Rick caved to her words and gave them an hour to get back.

"You have 43 minutes," Rick said to the man who claims to be named Aaron.

Judith started crying while Rick tried and struggled to crush acorns in a bowl with the handle of his gun. You walked up to him and removed the crying Judith from his arms.

"Let me take care of her," You offer, bouncing the baby in your arms.

Rick looked at you with love and adoration which was not all that rare when he looked at you. With everything he had seen and done, you could barely believe that he was still able to look at someone with that stare.

"Did you see the apple sause in my pack?" Aaron spoke.

Rick then went on a crazy spree, not trusting the sause for his daughter. He forced the man to eat a spoonful to prove that it was not poisoned or anything that could harm Judith and then licked the remaining bit off the spoon. Now was not the time to fantasize about his tongue sticking out for just a second to lick the spoon.

You fed Judith and flattened her growing hair. Rick kept glancing at his watch, waiting for the group Glenn took out. He just itched to be proven right by the man that was bound on the ground of the barn. Yes, there was a small part of him that hoped there was actually a camp or community or whatever the hell Aaron had said but he just did not trust the man. Something in his gut was telling him not to trust the man who claimed that he could help the group and give them a home. He just did not want to risk it.

Aaron looked worried when the group still was not back after about 35 minutes. He looked at you while you cooed the baby to sleep and he smiled. He looked at how Judith fit right in your arms and how much you may be the mother.

"Is she yours?"

"No, I wish but no she isn't."

"She kinda looks like you."

"Shut you fucking mouth," Rick said. He did not want you to be talking to the stranger. He did not want the memory of Lori coming back to mind. Even after so long, she still haunts him in his sleep. But not when you can help it. You knew that he loved his wife and you knew that she would always have a place in his mind. She was the mother of Carl and Judith. Even if Judith wasn't Rick's, he still loved her as if she was. And in a way, she was his. She was everything to the former cop.

The group made it back with the news that Aaron was telling the truth about the cars, at least. Rick was listening to Michonne and Glenn speak while you moved to a haystack to sit on. Aaron looked over at you for a minute, hoping you could talk to the stubborn cop who threatened to stab him in the skull.

Daryl noticed and leaned down to Aaron's ear.

"I would stop staring."

"I was't staring."

"Listen, tha' girl is with the man in charg'. That's Rick Grimes' girl and ain't no body gonna touch her'. So if I was ya, I would stop lookin'."

Aaron looked at you and then the archer beside him. Daryl was giving him the look as if to say, "Go ahead and see what happens". Aaron simply bows his head and then glances up when Judith started to cry softly.

"Tell me where the camp is," Rick demanded.

Rick argued with the tied up man and he kept noticing that Aaron looked at you for help. But Rick did not think this quickly. No, no, he thought that Aaron was sizing you. Looking at you for too long and he was tired of it.

"She.is.mine." He gritted out and strutted over to your area.

Rick grabbed your head and pulled you into a kiss. His lips moved against yours and you started to get dizzy from how good it felt. Rick pulled away all too soon and you leaned to get another kiss from his soft lips. He chuckled and turned to Aaron.

"Stop looking at my girl and tell me where the camp is."

Angel: Loves Popsicles! But they have way too much sugar in them, so Husk makes some homemade, they're not hard to make, and Angel can have a treat that won't cause him to bounce off the walls.

Demo- I feel like people would say he has an amazing spice tolerance, but he doesn't. He's not horrible. He'll eat jalapeños and serranos, but they'll still make his eyes water and mouth burn.

Engie- Our spice king. Only man who can handle eating anything past a habanero and not sweat. He puts hot sause on everything, but it's not normal hot sause, no, it's like ghost pepper hot sause. Soldier probably borrowed it once, and it nearly killed him.

Heavy- This one is tough. He's better than Spy and Scout but also worse than Demo. Pretty much, he likes the taste of some mild hot sauses and enjoys them but also can't eat a jalapeño to save life.

Medic- Either great or horrible, no inbetween. I lean towards the idea that he has a horrible spice tolerance, but still eats the most absurd peppers and grows newer hotter ones to see how his body will react, or just to share them with Engie.

Scout- Yeah, sorry, man. I've got to do it to him. He has no spice tolerance either. He got it from Spy. But to be fair, he is a lot better than Spy in the sense he can eat a jalapeño without dying... but he'll definitely be crying a little bit. He did the once chip challenge, and that shit actually killed him.

Sniper- He's definitely the middle of the road. He can handle medium amounts of spice and generally has very little reaction to spicy food. Even if he does eat something that's super spicy he still manages to have a poker face.

Spy- He dies at the smell of a single pepper. Bell peppers are spicy way too spicy for him (/j) No, but I think he could be fine with a mild hot sause or two but he just generally doesn't like the taste, and he can't handle actual spice to save his life. I think a jalapeño would kill him.

Soldier- He's fine enough, like, puts hot sause on his food, and isn't afraid of spice, but give him something stronger than, maybe like a habanero, and he's immediately red, sweating, probably internally crying, but he's brushing it off like he's fine. Overall handles spice fine.

Pyro- Honestly, it could probably eat molten metals if they really wanted to. I'll go out on a limb and say it has the best spice tolerance. They just don't actually like the taste of most spicy foods.

The fact that this exchange between Nona and Hot Sause

Happens only two chapters before this line from John:

It feels telling.

Nona makes herself vonenerable for the chance to experience forgiveness in a way that John will not risk.

So Nona received something that John never can have.

I think that moment might be a turning point.

Up till now all, Alecto has only realy known John and his view of humanity. But now, after being Nona...maybe Alecto can understand forgiveness. And maybe she can leave some of her fury behind.
