Hi! I saw this and wanted to clarify!  When making this post, I was mainly focusing on episodes where the villain was human [ CoE I argue that the government was portrayed to be just as villainous as the 456 ] and that does include Suzie. 

While, yes, she doesn’t seem to be on par with the others, she still killed multiple people mostly in the name of revenge and is the villain of two separate episodes.

Thank you for engaging with my edit, it really means a lot! I just wanted to explain my reasoning for choosing these four! Trust me, I adore Suzie. She’s one of the most complex and interesting characters, especially in the Big Finish audios that feature her, she’s definitely one of my favourite of the Torchwood villains.

Name: Mary

Nicknames: I don’t have any really? My name doesn’t lend itself to nicknames.

Height: Tall for a woman and short for a man. A strange height.

Languages: I only speak English unfortunately. I took French in high school and remember nothing. I took German in college and remember much more, but not enough to hold a conversation. I vibe with German, and I’d like to pick it up again and maybe be good enough at it to get by.

Nationality: American, which is really unfortunate at the moment.

Favorite season: Autumn! Even more now that I don’t have to be in marching band ever again. I love that it gets colder, and I love the leaves, and I love everything about it.

Favorite flower: I like most flowers, but I don’t know if I have a favorite. Marigolds, daffodils, carnations, and roses are rad.

Favorite scent: Hmm unsure. I like the smells of bakeries and libraries and parks in the summer. I love the smell of evergreen. I love the smell of coffee.

Favorite color: Orange!

Favorite animal: Dogs probably? and bees.

Favorite fictional characters: So many! Jack Zimmerman from Check Please comes to mind first. Every character from Undertale EXCEPT Aaron. I’m a little bit obsessed with Spencer Reid from Criminal Minds again even though I won’t rewatch the show because I think it will make me anxious (Also Garcia I love her so much). Harry Potter himself! As well as Neville, McGonagall, and Cedric. Every main character in the Good Place. Kate from Life is Strange. These are all characters I love with my entire heart.

Average sleep hours: *spins wheel that goes between 5 and 14 hours* (but since I am currently not a student, am unemployed, and have nothing better to do because of covid, I generally get 9)

Number of blankets you sleep with: One usually, but my bedroom is the coldest room in the house in the winter so I had 2-3 blankets for a while.

Dream trip: So many. This is basic, but I want to go to Disney World with my squad. so. bad. Like a week long Disney trip. I want to take a group of friends on a Michigan trip because I love Michigan so much. I’ve debated this for almost 2 years now, but should I change my url?

I haven’t changed my url at all in the nearly 10 years I’ve been on tumblr, but I don’t really post Harry Potter anymore, and if I do reblog something it’s likely to marvel at Cuarón’s gorgeous direction of Azkaban or it’s about AVPM.

And I know that on tumblr Harry Potter has become like a dogwhistle for being a TERF, which sucks. But what’s strange is that outside of tumblr, people either don’t know about JKR’s bigotry or they don’t care enough to do anything about it. This past Halloween I worked an event where there were a ton of kids dressed in Hogwarts uniforms. I literally was just talking recently to someone who’s bi and is super excited to see the new Fantastic Beasts movie. Either the rest of the world is “separating the art from the artist” to still talk about Harry Potter (like the case for that person), or actively agrees with JKR, OR just has no clue at all that she’s a TERF because the outrage is pretty contained to social media. Right now, it’s really just on tumblr and twitter that it’s a dogwhistle, but of course that means that the people who are purposefully using it as a dogwhistle are truly among the most horrible of TERFS. This isn’t me saying it’s futile to stop reading and watching HP and giving her money, I’m just saying that at the moment my url is only issue on tumblr. But of course it’s a url for tumblr, so that makes it an issue for me to possibly be associated with TERFS. Basically, I’ve been conflicted.

I don’t want people to assume I’m in that group. And I already got a hate message a few months ago from someone who assumed I was because of my url (and I guess my theme and profile picture too). I’m sure the people who follow me know I’m not like that, but at the same time I sometimes feel hypocritical reblogging posts complaining about whatever new bigotry JKR is going on about while my url still has Hufflepuff in it.

I think if I was to change it, it’d most likely be to “youremyonlyhope” or “anew-hope.” That way, it still has Hope in it so people can tell it’s me and it’s a Star Wars reference. I already saved both urls just in case. If anyone has any other url suggestions, I’m open to it.

So, should I change my url to something else, or should I just leave it as hopehufflepuff? I want actual opinions from my mutuals and followers to see what you think.

My 10th anniversary on Tumblr is July 4th, so that’s probably when I’d finally change my URL.

#this has sat in my draft for like a month and i have a couple other potential urls saved #but just today i saw that youremyonlyhope is available so i scooped it up andn ow i'm posting it since i like that url the best #and while making this post i realized that 'anew-hope' is available too so i've saved that as an option #i'll probably reblog this post a few times over the next week or so #if i do change my url i'd probably keep my profile picture the same for at least a little while #just so it's still recognizable as me. since personally i'm always confused when people if follow change the url and pic at the same time #then if i do change my picture i'll use the same dollmaker but just not do a hufflepuff uniform in it. so the silhouette's the same #my theme will probably always stay the same since it's default is black and another color and yellow is my fave color #so my theme being hufflepuff colors was more just a happy coincidence since it was always going to be yellow in some way

One thing that's hella awful about tumblr is how condescending people are about other people's past Fandom because it fell out of style or became problematic, (and yes, I'm talking about superwholock.) Because yeah, those shows may be the most embarrassing thing in the world or whatever to me now. But I met @callitoff and @hopehufflepuff at a Starkid sleepover four years ago now, which is something I'd never, ever do at my age. And I asked @sexy-ketchup-factory for her tumblr back in 2012 because we were in a public restroom and she was wearing a Supernatural hat (that's a 100% true story) and we're still friends today. I followed @molblargio because she was an SPN fan and we found out we lived in the same city, which was crazy. These people I know now, I know because of Fandom. And like... I don't watch the shows anymore. I don't think any of us really do, though I could be mistaken (I know Hope still loves Torchwood and Martha Jones.) But the point is, when I got a tumblr, I was 13 and stupid and embarrassing because that's how you are at 13, and it's so eternally frustrating to see everyone talk about the phenomenon of the whole thing like it was the black plague. Yeah, people got crazy. It went too far. But people who've been on here for as long as I have forget that us being crazy was what bound us together, and people who started later laugh at the old stories because they have no idea. They have no clue how important it was to people like me, who wanted to be dead and didn't because suddenly people on this shitty, garbage website cared and it was something I hadn't felt in years. So I get it. Ha ha, tumblr sucks and people who liked superwholock are embarrassing. It's funny, I guess, but know that while there were awful elements, you're also teasing a lot of teenage girls who hated themselves and got out of it because of that fandom. There has to be a starting point for being a better person, and for a lot of us, it was that.
