Aube vosgienne
A l’aube, le ciel s’embrase et s’emplit d’or. Le paysage surgit de l’ombre qui recule. Les crêtes vosgiennes se dévoilent dans la douceur brumeuse de l’air.

PLANNING THE VISUAL IDENTITY
I have struggled for a while to plan my visual identity, as I want to get it right!
I think because it is my own business, I want it to reflect myself and my business as best as possible. I started off with Maddi Hohneck Creative, but found it to be a bit too wordy. I then thought about Maddison Studios, and then Mad Studios - however this name was taken already on the Business Registry in New Zealand. I then thought about Mad Creative, and thought this was a super fitting name!
I figured that Mad Creative is a bit of a play on words and works well in relation to using my name but also the ‘mad’ usage meaning crazy and wild. I think I will play around with the type a little further but so far will keep the last photo of illustrations - but still need to confirm which brush stroke and colour palette.

Ichneumon a zancadas
El icneumón pertenece a la familia del ganado y fue valorado en Egipto para atrapar ratones y serpientes. El dios Atum-Re de Heliopolis toma la forma de un Ichneumon para proteger al dios del sol de la serpiente Apophis en su viaje nocturno por el inframundo matándolos. La cabeza de esta figura de Ichneumon descansa sobre un obelisco, un símbolo importante del dios sol. El frente del obelisco lleva el nombre del dios creador Atum. Esta figura posiblemente fue colocada en un templo en la ciudad de Saft el-Henna, que se encuentra en el delta del Nilo oriental (se lo debemos a H. Hohneck).

Flühli - Bern - Bévilard - Hohneck (Frankrijk) - Le Val d'Ajol
Donderdag 18 en vrijdag 19 augustus
Ik doe vanmorgen lekker rustig aan. Het is weer droog, maar wel behoorlijk bewolkt en dus lijkt mij het bezoeken van de stad Bern vandaag een prima alternatief.
Na het ontbijt loop ik nog een klein rondje langs de rivier. Ik ben een beetje nieuwsgierig waar de vele wandelaars, veelal locals, die mij passeerden zoal naartoe gaan. Het blijkt dat je een behoorlijk stuk langs de rivier kunt wandelen, ik denk zelfs tot aan het volgende dorp. Ik ben dat niet van plan vandaag, ik stap de auto in en rij naar Bern.
In Bern parkeer ik mijn auto net buiten de stad en pak ik vanaf daar de fiets naar het centrum. De stad ademt een gezellig sfeertje uit met heel veel leuke kleine lokale winkeltjes.
Na een paar uur door de stad gestruint te hebben, wat gegeten en gedronken, fiets ik weer terug naar de parkeerplaats. Het is al een uur of vier, maar ik rij vandaag nog zo een anderhalf uur verder. Ik heb in het dorpje Bévilard een prima camperplaats gezien.
Bij aankomst is het een prima plekje, wederom vlakbij een speeltuin. Het behint kort nadat ik arriveer te spetteren en niet veel later zelfs goed door te regenen. De rest van de avond verblijf ik binnen in mijn busje lekker series kijkend 😉.
Het is inmiddels vrijdag en vandaag wil ik de grens oversteken naar Frankrijk. Ik laat Zwitserland na ruim twee weken achter mij. Ik kom er zeker graag nog een keer terug!😊
Ik rij vanmorgen richting de zuidelijke Vogezen. Volgens het weerbericht zal het hier vanmiddag mooi weer zijn. Vorig jaar december toen ik plots weer even naar Nederland ging, heb ik in de noordelijke Vogezen een stop gemaakt. Ik wilde toen graag nog het zuidelijke deel bekijken (wat overigens op de kaart nog een behoorlijk stuk uit elkaar ligt).
Ik vind een leuke, niet al te lange en moeilijke wandeling bij de bergtop Hohneck. Eenmaal daar aangekomen bij de parkeerplaats van de 'Auberge' zit de lucht potdicht. Overal wolken en het is behoorlijk fris door het stevige windje. Sinds lange tijd moet ik zelfs weer eens een lange broek aan doen.
Ik ga toch wandelen want het is wel gewoon droog. Ik blijk overigens niet de enige te zijn die gewoon gaat wandelen.
En zoals wel vaker afgelopen jaar trekt de lucht zo af en toe weer open waardoor de zon ook nog even een kijkje mag komen nemen.
Het is weer heel anders dan Zwitserland, de bergen zijn minder hoog en veel kleurrijker. Ook hier is al veel natuur in herfsttinten gekleurd. Tegen de soms donkerblauwe lucht geeft dit overigens een prachtig beeld!
Wanneer ik weer op de terugweg ben van mijn wandeling begint het zowaar te spetteren. Ik trek mijn regenjas aan, maar zoals ook al vaker zet de regen toch niet echt door.
Wanneer ik mijn campertje stap bepaal ik weer waar ik vanavond wil slapen. Het wordt een camperplaats in Le Val d'Ajol. Ik sta aan de rand van een bos met uitzicht over de vallei.
Inmiddels is de zon weer volop terug en de temperatuur gestegen. Ik kan hier aan een van de velen picknicktafels mijn maaltje bereiden. Vanuit mijn stoel geniet ik vanavond nog van het uitzicht. Morgen rij ik naar een camping in Bourbonne-les-Bains. Hier zit mijn neef, zijn vrouw en dochter. Vlakbij zit ook mijn nicht met haar man. Ik zie hen morgen...supergezellig 😀!!

Good show images of target market - but might want to show lifestyle/people
Good listed Studios and tried to categorise them.
Content - quantity standardised Tone of voice considered.
Strong layout grid and typography appropriate
Liked divider pages in presentation - professional feel
+64 name good nod to a [phone] directory — can this be pushed to content?

The logo and mark up works really well and I like the substitution for the mark on the book spine
Great research on target market and on publishing markets
The colour palette works well
Powerpoint presentation was short and sweet, gets the point across
Content structure was very packed - Paul thought it lacked confidence in the proposal. Too much movement on the page with text being on different sides of the page, quite distracting.

Really nice logo/marque - works well with title.
Love the composition of the BLAD pages. Lots of negative space and really type heavy however it works with the combination of type sizes.
The slide set up was really nice in terms of hierarchy.

Heading
I played around with multiple type faces that have been used throughout the various publications. I wanted a big bold heading that is eye catching and fits the theme of the publication. The “Utopia” typeface used in Maddi Hohnecks publication really caught my eye and I think I want to incorporate it more throughout the other pages.

Original:
POP publication presents it’s first issue in 2022. The launch of POP looks at people,object, place. A 24 page publication packed full of different interviews of people living their life in their early 20’s and what that has to held.
Their 20s is dedicated to four different individuals that shared their stories. Stories ranging from moving to New Zealand from Macedonia, sailing across the seas, being faced with a tragic death in Rarotonga and working along side of Bruce McLaren. All the stories shared and gather from students; Mia Freeman, Maddi Hohneck, Ava Rawson and Frosina Popovski.
Looking at these different ideas but altogether focuses on what their early adult years hold for them.
