Rules: It’s time to love yourselves! Choose your 5 favorite works you created in the past (fics, art, edits, etc.) and link them below to reflect on the amazing things you brought into the world. Tag as many writers/artists/etc. as you want (fan or original) so we can spread the love and link each other to awesome works!
tagged by @tatakaeeren ~ ty victoria ♡
① the thing i'm most proud of to date is my levi & eren blm commission i did for @sp00kydraws ♡ the initial flood of tags on that art filled me with so much pride to be advocating for something that means so much to y'all personally. it means the world to me too and i felt such a strong and empowered sense of community with y'all upon drawing it. this also includes my commission post, which i'm taking up in exchange for donations to blm affiliated orgs. sp00ky's the only one i've done so far, so please help me find more ♡
② closely behind is my oc, @belzinone . after first getting into snk in 2015, i promptly dealt out a 140k+ fanfic about her journey through snk's main events and behind the scenes with her own original conflicts as well as relationships with the main cast. after that, i created an rp blog for her and have had a lot of fun writing her in the rpc and building her character to this day. when snk finishes (💔) i look forward to completing her fanfiction too (& possibly continue to write fics with her past the end, idk, we'll have to see how yams leaves us)
③ next is my stripper levi series (my favorites are this one and this one) and his ask blog. though i haven't answered any asks for him in a good long while, i took up the theme to mix fandom with my thesis and possibly educate people on sex worker and other related issues. though i've graduated, i plan on continuing this work so please follow @askstripperlevi and send him some questions, if you'd like!
④ then some select levi arts, including redraws of mobster levi from ch 123, which i also made an appreciation post on (at like breakneck speed fbsnfnskgk we were deprived of him for sO LONG), his two birthday arts last year (especially this one), this no name levi striptease (where i put him in a binder ♡), & chad levi
⑤ finally... my shitposts fbsgmsgmsl including make a wish levi & my most successful post of all time
bonus: my returning annie art. i love how she came out ♡
tagging @imikhey @kimako-art @snk-esli-thoughts @peachymess @nicoliputski @hilow @blindfolds @dirtylevi @momtaku @shuuhuu @sp00kydraws @evilwvergil @dahlia-25 @soapy0-0 @leanniera @tsukiy0 @laffitine @fluffyboots @kahleniel @emmysmith @matcha-castella @madcapraccoon @dinklebert @varrix @hunnymz @drinkyourfuckingmilk @alemanriq @huchidori @meatkasa @everylevishot @lampurpleart @ryuichirou @arianaisblessing & every creator who sees this ♡

hello! i just wanted to let u know that i enjoy your blog and everytime i read ur meta/headcanons i learn something new and insightful. i was wondering if u could recommend some blogs that post anime content + some info about what each blog posts? (after coming off from a semihiatus, im looking to follow some new blogs)
Thank you anon!! I dont follow a whooole bunch of people and I don’t follow anyone that is anime-only bloggos for snk or otherwise, but let’s see... I follow these people for--
Attack on Titan:
@hushpiper (meta/analysis/discussion)@attack-on-social-skills (meta/analysis/discussion)@stohessdistrict (analysis stuff but also loooovely edits/gifs! and sometimes other anime posts)@swolleneyes (beautiful art)@miawrly (more lovely art)@ermioney (and more lovely art!)@aotopmha (meta/analysis/discussion)@etoincognito (meta/analysis/discussion)@ghostmartyr (meta/analysis)@lenniikins (misc, sometimes art but mostly images/reblogs)@goodguyjean (meta and discussion posts; they love Jean so if you love Jean this blog is for you)@hamburger--time (misc reblogs, memes, fun stuff)@lolakasa (pretty artwork!)@hilow (misc stuff, sometimes artwork)@lindowyn (discussion!! meta!)@teetanjaeger (discussion and meta)@momtaku (meta/analysis/discussion)@bossard (fanfiction!!!! good fanfic!! GREAT FANFIC!!!!! but also fun conversationalist)@trash-god (i’m love her art and we talk 24/7 about everything so)@drinkyourfuckingmilk (not tons of snk anymore but art mostly)
Others:
@kippielovesyou (we have a lot of fandoms in common but you might see misc anime fandom stuff here)@hikawamaria & @hairjel (these two i followed for snk but they post a lot of other stuff)@final-mazin-blade (if you like mecha this is the guy)@hitaki-tempo (nice art esp for psycho pass!)@homun-clueless (FMA/B)
I hope these are a good starting place. There are lots of people in the fandom I don’t kick around with regularly but whom you might enjoy talking to; it really depends on what your interests are? I mean, anime in general is great but I tend to follow mostly snk-centric blogs that post random other animes depending on mood.

Hi honestly this is the only fandom I've been in so I'm wondering... does the attacking (no pun intended) that happens in this fandom happen in others? I mean I've seen some disagreements get hellllaaaaaa nasty over armin, for example. Or who berts in love with. And I get the feeling snk is special in this regard due to the circumstances of the story but maybe I'm wrong?
I think people forget that before Tumblr there wasn’t a good way to lob rude comments anonymously at people and most fandoms were sectioned off so that you generally interacted only with a certain portion of it.
So like, for a somewhat recent example, the Fire Emblem fandom was, for the longest time, divided by the GameFAQs community and the LiveJournal community and there wasn’t much overlap. And then you had the Fanfiction.net community come into the picture later. Even people who published fanfic on FF.net didn’t often interact on the “message boards” (I guess that’s what they were like? They weren’t exactly the pinnacle of forum technology). If you wanna go even further back there were forums, AdultFanfiction.net and other sites, but communities tended to pool in limited sizes on certain websites. I posted a lot of fanfiction but I primarily stuck to Livejournal at the time; the people I knew well were all people who hung out on Livejournal. Even if someone hated you they tended to just shit talk you in instant messengers with their friends because anonymous commenting was often disabled and journals were friends-locked (only a mutual “follow” allowed them to see your content). There were always lots of people in the community you knew about but didn’t talk to, or maybe hated, but generally people stayed in their corners. It wasn’t worth starting a bunch of drama over nothing because it inevitably ended with one or more people “flouncing” (who remembers that oldie but goodie?) from the fandom.
To connect this back to my point, you knew your community. Even huge fandoms had smaller communities and those communities had limited interaction or sometimes didn’t interact at all. And for the most part you stayed in your own goddamn lane because it wasn’t worth crossing the center line.
Now, sometimes subsets of communities interacted: I used to run the Fire Emblem Exchange on Livejournal and we’d come together with other Fire Emblem communities (deviantART, FF.net, eventually Tumblr) during the holidays. So it happened a little but not often and even then as an organizer we had to take care not to pair people up who, you know, hated each other.
Anyway, SnK is a huge fandom and yeah it’s broken down into Reddit, Twitter, and Tumblr platforms, but the scope of SnK fans on just Tumblr is honestly something I can’t fully picture. I knew most of the Fire Emblemers on LJ back in the day; I saw their fic, I saw them commenting on the journals of friends of mine... SnK on Tumblr is much bigger. I recognize a lot of people, but I think the platform itself--the speed of content production, the fact that literally EVERYONE can see what you post--just enables people to say, “Fuck it, we’re not a community via all being on Tumblr. My community is [people who like the same ship I do].”
Now, that’s just an example; I ship hilow but there are lots of other hilow shippers I don’t talk to (or whose portrayal of the ship I don’t agree with/who I wouldn’t interact with because we’d just disagree about everything). But Tumblr is a very public platform where it’s easy to blend into the crowd or start over if you stir the pot too much. There isn’t a good sense of community here. Shit moves too fast.
SnK isn’t special in that regard, unfortunately. It’s a Tumblr thing. A public platform thing. But don’t worry too much: the old ship wars of ye olden fandom days were just as nasty as the stupid story plot discussions of the current SnK fandom. People have always been nasty--it’s just really easy to be nasty on Tumblr and get away with it.

Hello, your meta writing is so amazing. I enjoy reading every bit of it. I was wondering what your thoughts are about Eruri as a ship. I personally feel a bit torn. I like some fan arts, but i have a hard time with fanfics because they're so ooc most of the time. In canon Levi seems to be very devoted, but i allways question if i should see it as romantic or just a deep attachment and respect and i have not really seen anything indicating a romantic interest from Erwin's side.
Thanks, Anon!
Under a cut just in case this ended up in the tags somehow:
I think the problem you have with eruri is a problem literally all pairings have in all fandoms. However, since we’re talking about SnK, let me elaborate and say: most mikenana fics seem ooc to me. Most hilow fics seem ooc to me. Most levihan fics seem ooc to me. (Hell, even some of my own older levihan ‘fics are probably ooc by my current standards!)
As far as whether or not to see something as a ship or a friendship/working relationship goes, that’s true for most pairings in this series. I think how you see it is entirely up to you, not really a matter of “am I meant to see it this way?” or not. Death of the Author, my friend. If, in reading the material, you’re not drawn to a romantic view on the relationship, then that’s that–and it’s as valid an interpretation of the work as people who read the same material and say, “I think there’s romance here.”
With some of the more recent bits of information about Erwin and how he feels about himself/his goals/etc, I’m really not inclined to buy into romance being a part of their relationship, my reason being that I don’t even see it as a friendship really–at least, not one that sits evenly between them. I’m not really interested in exploring unhealthy/unbalanced relationships, either, though, so keep that in mind. I’m one of those people who only ship things that I feel are healthy and comfortable relationships between characters. I see too much off balance nasty shit in everyday life: I don’t want it in the media I consume. That said, there’s a lot of fascinating writing potential in the eruri relationship; it’s just that most people try to force it into something it’s not, hence: ooc fanfiction.
But like I said, eruri isn’t the only ship that gets hit with the ooc stick. I can’t really read through any ‘fic tag anywhere anymore. Most fanfic is ooc lmao. And like 99% of fanfic involving Levi is probably ooc too lmao.
Once more, I just want to reiterate that you’re not supposed to see their relationship in any particular way. Some people are going to be drawn to the character dynamics and view them as romantic, some people are going to show up for the pwp, others are going to want to explore things about their relationship and how they can factor into/ruin/do damage to a romance, and then you’ll have those who see these same characters and see them as friends or allies or work buddies. There are a few interpretations to a ship like eruri and you’re not right or wrong for what your brain comes up with when you read the series.
So long as you’re not flinging hate at other people for how they interpret the material, you’re good! o/
