When Kurt Hummel woke up one morning to the feeling of socks on his feet and scratchy bedsheets he (almost) immediately knew where he was, where he had to be.
After almost exactly two years of waiting he'd woken up as his Soulmate.
The Switch occurs once the youngest of the Soulmate Pair falls asleep after turning 16. It doesn’t matter if the older half of the pair is awake or asleep, or where they are in the world, they immediately Switch. The Soulmate Pair stay Switched for four weeks, living within their Soulmate’s body for exactly 672 hours - 28 Days. Once Switched Back the true nature of the Soulmate Match reveals itself as a multicolored Soulmate Mark on the left wrist and palm.

I need someone to write Glee AU where Pavarotti is alive. I mean, can you imagine the changes this little event could make? Like, Kurt wouldn't sing Blackbird dedicating it to Pav → Blaine wouldn't realise his feelings → Blaine wouldn't transfer to McKinley → Kurt would be more likely to get the role of Tony → Kurt would have more credits for his application and might get in NYADA for the fall semester etc. There's so many possibilities! Any ship could happen and all because little bird stayed alive 🤯
Klaine could still happen, but differently.
Kurt could move on from Blaine and become closer with other Warblers and/or Dalton students and maybe start dating someone else. This could also lead to Kurt staying at Dalton.
Kurt coming back to McKinley single, which opens a lot of opportunities for Hevans, Kurtofsky, Puckurt etc. (for each their own)
When in season 3, there's Kurtbastian and Chandler/Kurt - not necessary romantic relationships, but friendships as well. And Blaine might transfer to McKinley or stay at Dalton (there's also a possibility for Seblaine in the background - I'm not a fan, but for each their own). Kurt might be still in close contact with Warblers or they could go completely separate ways.
Blaine staying at Dalton makes it possible for Kurt to get the role of Tony and get more solos, which means he has bigger chances of being accepted in NYADA.
And then season 4, where if Kurt is single there's Kadam and it can start earlier. And Vogue could or could not happen in this timeline. As well as Kurt and Rachel living together and Santana joining them.
And then Kurt's band in season 5. Elliott and Dani could still be there, but their meetings might change. Kelliott is a possibility. Kurt might impress June this time or still not make her think he has a potential. He could meet Maggie and perform as Peter Pan or not.
And then the 6th season - it could become a completely different story!
I just had to share this thought because it was haunting me for months now 😅 I even made a list of some of the possible storylines up until the end of season 3. But I'm not a writer and so I'm sharing this so anyone could use the idea(s). Just, if someone gets inspired by this and writes something, please send me the link to the story! 💜

Five Years of Glee
Well, it's been five years since I posted my first Glee fanfic. I've met a lot of really lovely people since joining this fandom and enjoyed being a part of something, even if it was long after the fact. Over the last several months, I've been back through all of my fics and read them from beginning to end. I found the pesky double words, the accidental "the" instead of "they" (the lingering evidence that the Y key was stiffer on my old laptop), and I've cleaned up any pesky grammar mistakes I could find. And in a few cases, I added a bit of information that seemed to be needed. With the precariousness of everything with that bill looming in Congress, I'd encourage anyone who has enjoyed my fics to download them and save them. That's what I'll be doing this next week—downloading my bookmarked fics. Hopefully, it won't pass, but with everything else going on, I'm not holding my breath.

favorite color: Blue, it's always been blue. When I was in jr high I tried to pretend it was black because I was emo, but it was still blue. Specifically a bright blue.
last song: Well I'm currently watching Glee, so it would be Hold On. But outside of that, it's Starting Gun by Mad Moon Riot. I was in a nostalgic mood.
last movie: I just watched All You Ever Wished For yesterday and Puppy Love the day before that (it's been a week for bad romcoms). In theaters I saw Jurrasic Park in 3D for National Cinema Day a few weeks ago.
currently watching: Currently in season 5 of Glee and of course keeping up on Ahsoka as it airs.
other stuff I watched this year: TV: I was watching White Collar and Red Dwarf, I still need to finish both of those but Glee distracted me. I also rewatched all of Farscape, Stargate SG-1, and Jericho, and of course Heartstopper when season 2 came out. Movies wise I saw Barbie and Oppenheimer, the new Scream, and Cocaine Bear. I feel like there were other new things Ive watched recently but I don't remember what.
shows I dropped this year/didn't finish: I haven't watched any new shows to drop, but I did pause in my Red Dwarf rewatch for White Collar and then I paused that for a Glee rewatch, but I will get back to them, eventually.
currently reading: Still need to finish Red White and Royal Blue, but I just started I Keep My Exoskeletons to Myself. And then for fanfic I'm in the middle of How Bright We Burn and Bad Seeds (both Seblaine at Dalton AUs) and Don't You Remember (A Kurtbastian fic). I'm also in the middle of the audiobook for Stranger Than Fanfiction
currently listening to: I've of course been obsessively listening to the Nerdy Prudes Must Die album since it came out, and then also just all of Chord Overstreets songs. And then for podcasts I've been listening to Woe.Begone of course but I'm way behind on Malevolent and Celler Letters.
currently working on: I've been outlining my 3-part Season 2/3 AU that I'm affectionately referring to as The Hevans Saga, The Klaine Saga, and The Seblaine Saga. And of course I'm still in the middle of writing things for Seblaine week and I started a part 2 of my Autistic!Kurt AU.
current obsession: Seblaine almost feels too obvious, but it's accurate. But also just thinking about Glee in general and specifically Blaine, Kurt, and Sam and all of the ways they were screwed over by the show and how many fics I want to write to fix it.

Chapter 3
Seeing one’s self in real life, not through a mirror, was a very very weird experience, Kurt found out as he inched the Motel door open and peeked outside.
Sam, in Kurt’s body, was rocking back and forth on his feet, hands clasped behind his back and looking down at the floor. He looked absolutely terrified, which Kurt found weird because shouldn’t Kurt be the terrified one in this situation? He certainly felt like he had more of a reason to be.
Sam raised his - Kurt’s - head at the sound of the door opening and their eyes met. Kurt knew what his face looked like when he’d been crying, he could see the tell-tale redness around his own eyes and nose, the sparkle of tears still trapped in his eyes. But this was one of the guys who stood by and watched as he was tormented on a daily basis, so he could feel no sympathy for him, and hardened his own gaze, clenching his jaw.

i should not be allowed to do this because the last three seasons i have completely skipped around for the so-called highlights but whateva
also! this is based on opinion and how much i like the ship/how much content i consume of it. and not how toxic or canon compliant it is.
hehe let’s do it
KLAINE (kurt x blaine) - and listen if u have klaine slander ur entitled to that. it is in no way a perfect ship, it has its moments for sure. but this is not the place for your discourse so kindly take that somewhere else. anyway i love these guys. so freakin much. they have such good chemistry and the way that they look at each other… chef’s effing kiss. this isn’t just a klaine post tho so i’ll keep it moving.
FABERRY (rachel x quinn) - eeee what do i even say?! first of all quinn is so queer coded it’s unbelievable. like ur telling me that girl isn’t a lesbian? come on. and second, i never saw rachel as gay until i came across this ship, but i see it as being kind of an insecurity of hers. like, she’s got all this stuff going for her and a secret she doesn’t know how to let out? idk. queer!Rachel doesn’t usually cross my mind except for in this ship cause it’s so cute and i love it
BRITTANNA (brittany x santana) - first of all this was the first canonical wlw ship i was ever really exposed to and they hold a special place in my heart for that considering i like girls 💅. but in all seriousness, i love their chemistry, i love santana’s whole “i hate everyone but you” thing and brittany just being fabulous and perfect. they are two of my fave characters also so…
BLAM (blaine x sam) - okay, so i don’t consider myself a multi shipper, but… if i had to pick up a backup for blaine, and if we’re staying within canon, relatively, i would have liked to see this as a hook up or a short lived thing in season 4 after blaine cheats on kurt :( or maybe in season 6 before the wedding bevause if everything is so effed up anyway might as well exchange that whole karofsky situation… yikes. it’s not endgame for me because they’re just bros but i do really like the idea
QUINNTANA (quinn x santana) - this was the gateway drug that led me to faberry which is why it’s in number five. i’m not going to lie, they had a lot of sexual tension in seasons 3-4 and that hookup at the ‘wedding’ was long awaited. again not endgame, but it’s more endgame material than blam. the reason it’s lower on the list is because i don’t care as much about their relationship dynamic as friends as i do with blaine and sam.
PEZBERRY (santana x rachel) - i need to stop prefacing like this because pretty much nothing on this list qualifies as endgame anymore after britanna. this is cute. would i read a fic about it? yeah. would i gush over fanart? sure. would i freak out of this had been canon in any way? definitely. but it’s not a hardcore ship, and they wouldn’t end up together.
MIKE X TINA - we’re really getting to the idc section of this post, because i have literally zero opinions on mike chang. i love tina though, and i think she was the best when she was with him… particularly in season 3. i love season 3 tina. love her!
FINCHEL (finn x rachel)- again, i don’t care. finn is a very neutral character imo - like i never really felt strongly one way or the other about him his whole time on the show. but, i liked seeing him happy with rachel, even though it seriously got in the way of my otp
ARTINA (artie x tina) hated this in season 1, hated it in season 6. but, it would have been cute if the writers had given it more thought instead of just making it a side ship, because they were obsessed with having everyone in the glee club pair up. ugh, i don’t know. it could be okay if it was actually done well.
ok, now onto the ships i don’t really like but decided to share my thoughts on anyway. ugh…
HEVANS (kurt x sam) - no? i mean, there’s nothing inherently wrong except they hardly have a relationship, at least in the better part of the series. i just don’t see the appeal tbh. no hate to hevans shippers though :)
PARTIE (puck x artie) - listen i don’t like pick and i definitely wouldn’t say i ship this… but it’s interesting. i’m not opposed. i’m sorry idk what this is either
PINN (?) (puck x finn) - listen… tina’s dream sequence where they were supposed to be playing kurt and blaine? it was freakin cute and while i just think they hate each other too much to ever have a romantic relationship, i think a one-sided pining situation is cute for them, or maybe a short lived high school thing. i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again. not endgame.
QUICK (quinn x puck) - it’s inherently problematic. i could go on and on about how quinn deserves better but it would be awful not even to mention the degree to which this is messed up. puck literallt sexually assaulted quinn- he got her drunk so he could have sex with her. it’s a big no for me. besides, even if that didn’t happen, these two would never make it.

In the mood for a "what-if" Glee fanfic starring the adorable Sam Evans?
What if Sam allows Kurt to share his family's financial problems with Burt? What if he shares another secret with Kurt the day he delivers pizzas to Dalton? What if Karofsky tells Kurt that Santana is blackmailing him and allows Kurt to tell Burt the truth? (The story starts in February of Season 2.)
About 15 minutes into their session, Kurt heard his name and paid attention.
“Kurt, you seem preoccupied today,” Mr. Adams said.
“Sorry. I was just going through what I need to get done this afternoon and evening. I’m trying to get ahead so that I can stay in Lima all weekend with no schoolwork hanging over my head.”
“I see. What’s going on in Lima?”
“My stepbrother's basketball game, mostly. Working at the shop. I’ll get up early Saturday and work the whole day more than likely. I need the money. And Dad likes to show up and fiddle around and keep me company.”
“Did you like any of the clubs you’ve been considering?”
“I didn’t go to any of the meetings.”
“You’re going to have to put more effort into this, Kurt. The requirements were that you would join at least two extracurricular activities. The Warblers count, but I’ve been very lenient. We’ve been back to school for nearly four weeks. You need to find something else to join.”
“Yes, sir.”
“I’m going to let you leave early this week to get started on your schoolwork.”
“Thank you, sir.”

Sam let out a breath; what could be mistaken as a sigh certainly wasn't, it was an exhale of relief! The warmth radiating through the apartment was enough to make him feel more like a person and less like an ice sculpture.
He'd knew he had forgotten something as soon as he stepped outside of the theater and into the harsh blistering winter wonderland, every biting wind seeming to cut through his thin layers like a sharp blade. He wasn't usually this forgetful, especially when it came to expensive gifts from Kurt, but Kurt kind of was responsible for his lapse in thought. Sam had found himself with a one track mind.
Get home to his boyfriend.
"Kurt I'm home!" Sam called out, closing the door behind him with his snow clad boot.
It really was a cold one out there. Harsh and unforgivable New York winters. Sam had thought he was warming up to it, so to speak, but maybe that was simply a false sense of security created by a well prepared wardrobe.
When Kurt first brought up the idea of Sam moving to new York he was beyond less than adamant, and even that was an understatement. New York sounded like everything Sam didn't want: crowded, everything feeling like rush hour, and the threat of freezing your fingers off.
But there was one thing he did want from New York; Kurt Hummel.
That was something that had left their relationship stagnate for a while, long distance wasn't something Sam or Kurt was keen on. Unlike Sam, Kurt was well versed when it came to New York and New York lifestyle, making it his own personal mission to show Sam that it wasn't actually the hell pit he made it out to be. Not to mention it was bustling with an array of job opportunities that collided with Sam's interest.
That was five years ago; four years of Sam and Kurt falling in love with New York and deeper in love with each other, and one year of dealing with the growing pains of New York, and being a couple sharing a space together. Alone.
There was no Carole, Burt or Finn in New York.
"What happened to the puffy coat I just bought you. Have you been walking around like that all day?" A soft pout settling on Kurt's lips.
"I made gingerbread cookies," Kurt sang out as he came to greet Sam at the entrance way. "Sam Evans!" Kurt spoke, his tone enough to tell Sam he was in trouble, he'd expected nothing less.
He was a bit disappointed in himself as well.
Kurt held the two flaps of Sam's newly unbuttoned Peacoat, examining Sam with a soft shake of his own head.
"Honey," Sam breathed out the word, ridding himself of his beanie and gloves, "I forgot it at the theater...because I couldn't wait to get home and tell you the amazing news..." Sam added the last part quickly, almost a mash of words barely making themselves singular, giving Kurt his best 'please don't be mad' face.
Kurt challenged him with a stark eyebrow raise, "it better be the best news I've heard all year, or no cookies for you."
Sam chuckled, wrapping his arms around Kurt and pulling him in close so he could feel, more so steal, some of his warmth. "A bunch of the theater performers are getting together for a bonfire tonight, sort o a celebration for getting through the first week of Roger's The Musical, unofficial not licensed."
Kurt tilted his head, waiting for the earth shatteringly amazing news, seemingly unimpressed.
Sam pressed a kiss to Kurt's cheek, "Kurt it'll be fun! Everyone's bringing desserts and there will be a bunch of back stage theater talk...Rachel and Jesse will be there. And Jesse is bringing my jacket," Sam knew the last part would win his boyfriend over.
And it did just that.
That made Kurt's eyes light up, a smile spreading across his lips; a big grin that took over his whole face, "why didn't you start with that!" Kurt punched Sam playfully.
Sam giggled, rubbing the spot where Kurt's fist made contact with his chest.
"You know how proud I am of you right?" Kurt's voice took on a soft sincerity now, his eyes finding Sam's, the mood in the room shifting almost instantly, " I know how much you wanted the role of Thor-"
"Kurt have you seen my abs?" Sam cut in, he'd never let that go.
Kurt rolled his eyes playfully, placing his hand over the aforementioned abs, "Sam, sweetheart, you know I have. But you got the lead as Steve Roger's." Kurt bit his lip, going silent for a moment, "and don't tell him I told you, but Jesse has had nothing but nice things to say about you in that role."
Jesse of course nabbed himself the roll as the totally loveable Tony Stark.
"I guess Rachel has been a good influence on him" Sam joked.
"They've both been good influences on each other." Kurt smiled, "and you, Sam Evans, have been the best influence on me. I'd be honored to be your plus one at this bonfire celebration. And forever " Kurt looked deep into Sam's eyes, moving his hand to his cheek and pressing his lips to Sam's with a sort of, passionate, tenderness.

Happy Fourth
He couldn't figure out for the life of him why his phone was ringing. Was there not an ounce of decency left on this planet? Why was his phone ring at...whatever o'clock, in the morning.
All he knew is that it was pitch black outside and there was no sign of the sun making an appearance anytime soon.
Sometimes he really regretted not putting his phone on 'do not disturb'.
Kurt groaned as he rolled over in bed; this better be life or death he thought to himself.
Kurt answered the phone, truthfully, that was being a bit generous.
The weird muffled croak that left Kurt's voice wasn't much of an answer and far from a greeting. His body and mind clearly laced with sleep, his voice lost in some distant land.
It was silent, still. No sound came from either end of the phone, for a moment you would've thought everyone had fallen back asleep.
Or it was one of those phantom prank calls.
Then Sam's voice finally came through, "Happy fourth of July kurt!"
There was no way the Male had been sleeping, he sounded too chipper, too up beat. All in all, far too awake.
Not an ounce or a centimeter of heavy sleep muddle his voice.
Kurt groaned softly, but he was smiling. Of course he was smiling. He was practically dating a golden retriever; golden shaggy hair, full of energy and easily excitable.
Sam always made Kurt smile.
"You know the fourth lasts the entire day," Kurt pulled away from his phone, one eye open, squinting at the bright light that cut through darkness, "what time is it anyways, Sam?"
"It's 4am!" Sam let out in apologetic chuckle, "I know you love your beauty sleep Kurt, though I dont really know why you call it beauty sleep, you're already the most handsome guy in the world. I mean kurt have you seen yourself? You're like..."
"Sam," kurt softly interjected.
Sam laughed, a soft awkward airy sounding thing, sending a flutter through Kurt's body.
Kurt could picture him; probably rubbing the back of his neck, cheeks poking out and eyes beaming with untamed joy.
"Right. Sorry. I just...this is our first fourth of July together. I couldn't sleep...I know it's not anything special and you said you didn't want to celebrate...but there's this really cool fireworks show, I always take the kids to see fireworks. And this one sounds really awesome Kurt!"
Sam took a breath, he knew he was probably rambling, he got like that sometimes. When his excitement really took over, or when he got nervous and panicked...maybe a bit of both.
Sam continued, "There's food and games and it's actually really fun Kurt..." Sam paused, not wanting this to feel like an obligation just because they were dating and it was their first fourth of July as a couple, "but you don't have to say yes! I know the fourth of July isn't everyone's thing and neither are fireworks."
There was a long silence between them; Sam was nervous. An eager nervous wreck one answer away from having his tail fall in dejection, but he'd understand if kurt wasn't up for it.
"Will there be cheesecake?" Was the words that came through.
