Something is Wrong with Faust

spoilers for limbus company and the Leviathan comics

i first came to this conclusion while reading through the character intros after canto 4 and i noticed something odd about the portrayals of specific characters that was odd,

Don Quixote said to have delusions of grandeur despite having so such thing, the closest she gets is her love of fixers but that's like calling someone being a musicians fan delusional

Hong lu repeatedly has moments of picking out deep emotional nuances from the others something that should be impossible if he was actually as sheltered as is claimed

Heathcliff is never explicitly stated but implied to be stupid dispute repeatedly proving to have a very strong intuition and understanding of things and simply lacking the ability to communicate them well

Outis is flatly stated to be untrustworthy but in game we don't see any of that aside from the sucking up to authority but that's a topic for another time

but Faust is called insufferable and lazy, then we are told that she is smart and effectively a good source of advice, but she is never more then a walking encyclopedia and connection point to LC proper

in leviathan after Vergilius is done with the raid and the taboo hunters have killed off his office he is approached by a mysterious figure who introduces her self as Faust and offers a way out

Faust is the only character we know with a connection to LC proper and the place that all of our orders from the top come through, not even Vergilius has met anyone higher then her

something is wrong with Faust

in the intros Faust is the only one to be stated to have unseen potential "even though she has an unparalleled genius, we can't quite figure out how to use this one. Perhaps you could be the one to find out?"

we dont know who wrote the intros (assuming they're real in universe) but the strongest candidates are Vergilius and Faust with Faust being more likely because Vegrilius' would be way shorter and not contain advice

i voted for heathcliiff, and i'll admit to being super super biased because wuthering heights is my all time fav book 😊 but i also think rovias is a really good url as well!
