Obasan(auntie) and me messing around with digital Japanese masks.🤗Obasan was always like my second Japanese mom from the time I was little. When I was going through a really hard time in my final years in Shanghai trying to find my way through the pressures of society and familial obligations, I ended up one spring in Tokyo and she offered to take me in if i "needed some time away from Shanghai". I told her my soul desired to go to study Yoga in Bali but I'd be back. That led me to leave Shanghai finally for Bali where a month-long training turned into a 3 year spiritual journey... But I suspect the reason Japan is dear to me was that moment of respite gave me clarity to make the move out of my comfort zone. And now Shanghai, Bali and Japan are forever linked on my yoga journey.
