4 more weeks or 1 month left until the new season starts and I feel like we are currently in the calm before the storm and I am definitely nervous. 😬

This is my rewatch for episode 4 of season 1 and I absolutely adore this episode as shit pretty much hits the fan after this relatively sweet episode. I have a feeling that we won’t have an episode as happy as this one in season 2 so it’s best to enjoy it as much as possible. 😭

Also spoilers for everything!

IWTV S1 E4: The Ruthless Pursuit of Blood With All a Child’s Demanding

This episode starts out with Daniel talking on his phone to I assume his agent for the book he is going to write about this messy vamps. I wonder if this will be important later?

And of course the sleep paralysis demon that is Armand/ Rashid is just standing there.

Some of the lines he says to Daniel are so archaic it’s crazy people didn’t think he was Armand.

But he has the important job of bringing Daniel to Claudia’s old diaries.

Daniel makes a remark about the tree and Armand says something about an architect which I wonder if that will also be someone from the book that we did not know yet.

And he tells Daniel where to start with the dairies but of course he doesn’t listen and starts reading one towards the end. 😂

Now we are finally starting Claudia’s pov

“You were ready to abandon our home. Now you want a third” Lestat was so hurt by Louis leaving :(

In this version it’s Louis that wants Lestat to turn Claudia instead of Lestat just out right baby trapping him. But that doesn’t mean that Lestat turned Claudia without selfish intentions. He knows if he does this for Louis that he will no longer want to abandon him.

God that look on Lestat’s face when he thinks he’s getting a family. ☺️

Also! No secrets my ass!!!

When I first watched the pleated skirt line it took me out! They are everything!!! 🤣

Claudia is Lestat’s daughter alright. Claudia said ACAB and that is why she is an icon.

This episode is comedic genius!

I LOVE when Lestat sneaks in Louis’s coffin. It’s so sweet and since it’s from Claudia’s pov we can more objectively see the good parts of their relationship. I’m sure if Louis was telling this part of the story that he might have not mentioned their coffin-sharing almost every night.

I also really adore the scene with Louis and Claudia in the boat. In the book Claudia doesn’t actually know why or how she was made but in the show Louis tells her the truth that it was because of him that she was hurt so bad in the fire. I like that he just tells her outright for how she was made. I also really love that when Claudia asks Louis how love works between two men and Louis makes that adorable face. It gives me butterflies!

After that scene, Daniel takes a break and walks in on Rashid/ Armand praying and he notes that he spoke a language that is from the Crimea which is a call back to the book since Armand’s character is originally from that area in Europe. So I think that they will still incorporate that part of Armand’s background in the show too.

This makes Daniel sorta suspicious of Rashid also because of him referring to Dubai as a ‘child’ Also Daniel’s notes on ‘Rashid’ is so funny.

We go back to the unholy family and they are just having a grand old time just being hella cute~

I wonder if the marquis Lestat mentions at Claudia’s birthday is his dad or his oldest brother? It sucks either way because they got guillotined during the revolution.

Movie theatre scene 🥰

Oh shit Mama Du Lac is dead

They look so good in their formation as the leave the wake.

Lestat bringing Claudia to the lovers lane for some dinner isn’t… the best but he is trying to bond with her and he does treat her so sweetly in the scene.

This does awaken something inside her like her sudden need to grow up.

And in her need to grow up she finally meets Charlie as her first love.

In classic vampire fashion Claudia accidentally kills Charlie

And though I hate to admit it Lestat is right when tells his fledglings to stay out of human goings on. He should have just been more sensitive about it when she brought Charlie’s body home.

Louis finally shows back up in the interview! I wonder what was doing other than ‘resting’

Louis so sad about Claudia. 😢

This episode ends so sad and miserable… Poor Claudia 😔

Okay with that ends my s1 episode 4 rewatch.

I am definitely not looking forward to episode 5…. It’s a tough watch but I’ll try to do it next time.

Rashid is probably a vampire since he's not wearing a mask like the others but I'd say he's not secretly Armand because as subby as Armand can be, I doubt he'd let Louis boss him around, in front of humans no less.

The dialogue in this is so damn sharp.

Additional thoughts:

-The script seemed to indicate Louis was originally supposed to be bi as well, so I think they made him specifically gay for additional drama and conflict both within himself and between him and Lestat. Which... I'm not sure was entirely necessary, but I can appreciate it.

-It's cool how we've established that the original interview was bitter hogwash, but Louis is clearly not being entirely honest this time, either. The moment he realized he might not even remember things correctly was super cool.

Just went through the Lost boys x stranger things tag and I'm IN LOOOOVEEEE!!! I LOVE IT SO FREAKING MUCH!!! THE AMOUNT OF POSSIBILITIES OMG. My mind is reeling with the boys thoughts on the party back in Hawkins. Who would is their favorite kid? Who talks to Will about his (cough gay thoughts cough)? Who would have a sass battle and nice comebacks with Max? Who spoils Dustin rotten or becomes a bad influence? Who is trying to not wrangle Mike? WHO TALKS AND GIVE SPORT ADVICE TO MY LUCAS??? WHO IS ABSOLUTELY OVER THE MOON OR FREAKED OUT ABOUT JANE/011'S POWERS??? *I need answers*

This crossover is literally THE perfect thing to me right now so I’m very glad other people like it so I don’t have to shut up about it 😂

Dwayne chills and listens to Will talk, but David is the one who’s actually helpful. He’s good at tough love because he’s an asshole, so it’s what he does for ALL of them. Like, it isn’t necessarily the best approach, but he’d sit there, take a drag, and go “so next time Mike wheeler is ignoring you, you hafta just threaten his life. It’s the only way you’ll get his attention. It’s 1986 who gives a shit anyways”

Dustin and Paul hang out. Dustin hates it at first because he’s like “this guy is a fucking idiot” but Paul has saved Dustin’s ass from surf Nazis like three times now and keeps following him around asking science questions. If the kids didn’t already know that the boys were vampires before, they’re gonna suspect that something weird is going on, because Dustin will be talking about radios or something and Paul will just go “oh lmao back in my day the gramophone was the big new thing. Progress sure is wild huh” and walk away

Of course, this also means that Paul is a terrible influence on Dustin, and when Steve rolls into town he’s SO mad about it lol

Marko and Max. Absolute pals. At first they can’t STAND each other, but after fifteen minutes of slinging insults back and forth, they realize that they’re totally on the same wavelength. Marko is like the fun older brother that Billy can’t bring himself to be, and they hang out and skate around the boardwalk and run from the cops every night.

Dwayne gives Lucas sports (and girl) advice. They play football on the beach at night and he uses the carnival games on the boardwalk as basketball practice. Even though Dwayne isn’t particularly good at either sport, he’s still a vampire, so he does pretty well lol

They are ALL trying not to throttle Mike like it’s an episode of the simpsons. They’re a group of dudes who are all sort of dating each other and don’t let anybody get in the way of that, so it’s like a very gay bros before hoes thing, except they’re both the bros AND the hoes in their situation. The point is, they would see how Mike’s relationship with El has been shoving his friendships to the side, and they wouldn’t like that. I also don’t really think they would get along with him at first, because he would make some comments that they absolutely HATE and all be asking Steve if he REALLY needs all of these kids or if he would be okay with them chomping on one

David would think el’s powers are neat. They wouldn’t freak the vampires out too much, since they can play mind tricks on humans already, and they would want to test things out and see if they can pull their usual pranks on her or not.

The frog brothers are spying the entire time and they’re SO freaked out about El. They’re calling Sam up to tell him that the government has come to Santa Carla and it’s only a matter of days before they’re all turned into lizard people

Micah - Gay

Adrien - Bisexual, though it took him a while to realize 😅

What age did they realize that they were said orientation?

Micah realized it as a kid in high school, after getting a crush on Will’s godbrother Alvie.

Adrien has been a nervous wreck around guys all his life, but he couldn’t figure out why when he was perfectly capable of talking to women. It wasn’t until moving to America, relaxing after work in a club full of beautiful people, that it finally hit him 🤣

Given the whole power-induced coma situation, Micah’s awakening is when he gets to know Adrien more and he slowly realizes vampires are kind of hot 😂

Adrien, a sweet young man moving from France for the first time, was absolutely floored one night at the club when a gorgeous man gave him his number. He never got the chance to call him, sadly, but that’s okay because it led him to Micah.

How vocal are they during sex?

Micah is good at not making too much noise, but he loves to talk while they do it because his deep voice is a big comfort to his boyfriend. Of course, if Adrien bites him, he’ll be much louder.

Adrien, the poor guy. It’s a good thing those walls are so thick 🤣 He makes the sweetest noises. Micah discovered that if he hits a certain spot just right, the poor doctor will start swearing in French.

Harry/Kim! I only played it once with high intelligence stats and low-ish empathy lol so I'm sure I missed some good content, but I definitely shipped them hard while playing and read a bit of fic, tho it's a small fandom so there wasn't much. tbh idk how the writer managed to make a balding uptight nerd the ideal love interest, but he sure did it somehow. I would die for Kim. And I couldn't make any choices that would disappoint him lol.

wrt Buffy, I only watched up to season 5 and that was a while ago so this won't have much depth, but some thoughts on various ships:

Buffy/Faith was my main interest and the reason I picked up the show in the first place, and it didn't disappoint, season 3 was gr9.

I was also very into Giles/Ethan of course.

I didn't like any of the het relationships but I preferred Spike and Buffy's dynamic to Buffy and Angel's. Angel was boring, Spike was fun. I never did see Buffy/Spike in action though lol, aside from having seen the musical ep once. I quit out before that.

Willow/Tara was fine, I'm glad they got to be gay in a popular show back in the day, but I wasn't too interested in their relationship from what I saw. I probably would've liked it more when it got problematic in season 6, but again, I've only seen the musical episode.

Love Jimson (Jim Root/Marilyn Manson) and my OT3 is those 2 plus Peter Steele. Plus Jim is a werewolf and Peter is a vampire. 😌 Really, though, I don't get too attached to most ships. They're fun to play with. I don't take them too srsly.

15: what’s a wip i want to finish but don’t think i ever will?

I have this really old purgatory torture porn that I want to finish so much (he makes her eat her own toe and I re-read it occasionally just for that). Also a blood magic piece. But alas.

16: what’s my writing strengths?

My uncanny ability to turn literally anything into a horror movie or porno, esp if it involves 2+ unrelated things, and esp esp if one of those things is Manson. It's like lead to gold. Magic.

17: what’s my writing weakness?

Just getting started, doing the middle part, and ending it. Also, confidence.

18: what’s my thought on writing dialogue in other languages in fic?

I think it's hard to do well. It's a matter of using correct translations so you don't lose your multilingual readers, and still getting the meaning across for your monolingual readers. I think it works well in films, where you still have body language, tone, and context, but can be awkward when written. Respect to everyone who does it well.

19: what was the first fandom i wrote for?

Crossover between Labyrinth and an amateur de Sade homage I really liked as a kid. Of course, this was before I knew what fandom or fanfic was. I was just writing stuff. 🤷‍♀️

20: what’s my favourite fic i’ve written:

The one I posted most recently. I fall in love while I'm writing. Later, that fic becomes cringy and bad and I need another love.
