Spocktober + Trektober Day 20 - Soulmates

They love each other really! They've just had a long voyage home...

Thanks to @stellucis for giving me the idea of drawing them with the red string of fate!

whenever I see someone arguing about how buddy daddies isn't queer and people who think it is are ruining the anime for others I just go 🤨 for well... obvious reasons of how tf enjoying the show through queer lens would ruin it but also because how do these people think the show will end?? like... genuinely, how do you think this slice of life with two men each with hard past and trauma raising a daughter together which forces them to confront said traumas and grow as individuals and partners (let's also ignore the ambiguous connotations of using this word and history of using if we must) is going to end? cause obviously it's going to end with this imperfect makeshift family creating their home together and staying together. loving and supporting each other in their own ways for years to come. these two men raising Miri together, completely comfortable in this home they've created and existing together, completely fine with no other romantic relationships in their lives spending their years together as parents. just saying that's...that's pretty gay of them you know? and honestly even if you argue about it and pull two friends can raise a child together card... this anime still provides so much wholesome and good content for queer community in such basic ways "our bank account", "you think work's more important than our kid?!", Miri saying she loves having two dads, "these are our genes at work" and much more... just a lot of positivity all around so it's no wonder queer community is enjoying watching it, read their relationship as queer and take comfort from the show? and there is really nothing wrong with that especially when as I said we all know it will end with heart-warming closure of this found family being happy and together

I've left a few fics unfinished and ended them with a "well, i'm abandoning this - but you guys can have my notes to get the general idea on how i planned the story to go and the ending to be :)" you can ask an author that. Do you know that. If you're that desperate, shoot the author a quick ask like "hey, sorry to bother, but [fic] was so good, i just got to the last update and i love it so much, but it left me curious! if you'd like to share, did you have any specific plan for its ending? thanks in advance, love your writing style btw :D" and they might even tell you. Did you know that writers are people and you shouldn't feed their fucking writing into an AI just bc you wanted to see (an inferior version of) the ending for their fic.

#i'm serious. the author doesn't even owe you that btw #but one can abandon a fic for any number of reasons (ONE OF WHICH IS LACK OF ENGAGEMENT BTW IT'S REALLY DEMOTIVATING ESP WITH MULTICHAPS)#and if they abandoned it for any reason other than ''i hate the idea of it now'' they will probably be happy to tell you #like i haven't written anything for my huge oblivion fixit in genuinely two or three years #but if you were to ask me rn for my plans after the last thing i wrote i'd be happy to rant ab it #(and it might even have me going ''whoa it's really cool i might go actually write for it now'')

i finally got the job at my dream place which is a hospital and today i finished the week-long training course. sorry if i haven't been online that much or at all this week i've been pretty busy with things about this new job but we're doing it fam we're almost there 💪🏻

Just had a reverse “you think about your old writing through rose-colored glasses but when you go back to read it it’s kind of terrible” moment, I went back and read some of my pre-uni/pandemic writing fully expecting it to be terrible and was like “oh this is…pretty good actually?”

#there are certainly things I would fiddle with but not as horrific as I was anticipating. honestly I wrote so much faster back then #it was narnia fanfic btw #sadly probably never something I will ever go back to (even though my oc’s for it are very very beloved to me) as it was something me and #my ex-best friend were writing together and now she hasn’t talked to me for two years #it was also a bit sad to read because in some ways I’m not that girl who wrote that anymore. like I am and maybe in some ways I could get #her back but it’s been more than three years. that girl was dreamy and idealistic and was so happy to write something that might never be #published and now I still like to think I’m dreamy and idealistic but I’ve become so bitter and I don’t like it and writing is so much #harder (you think studying for a degree in it would help but it has the opposite effect)#and I don’t really have anyone to talk to about my writing irl anymore and I think part of the problem is that it’s all bottled up inside #and can go nowhere but the page (and that’s so much pressure!)#anyway ignore my tag rambling #maybe I’ll incorporate those narnia oc’s into something else because I really did pour so much into them #it seems a shame to let them die

heyyyyyy <3 <3 i feel terrible.

i had planned to stay off longer but i genuinely have had like three nervous breakdowns since i left bc right as i decided it was abt time i just chill for a little bit everything started happening all at once. so i came back to see my silly little internet friends, but like the second i logged back on some ppl were talking smack abt me sooooooooo... ya know. my day (two weeks) be so fine,, then BOOM my entire schedule fills up and i become hollow on the inside! (hey sorry like vent post n tags i need to get things out of my brain)

#spikes rambles #i was happy there for a minute too :<#heres what its looking like rn....#i have three weddings. one of which i am a bridesmaid for and was left to get my own dress #but i cant afford a nice dress that matches. so i have to make one my damn self. and in two weeks.#i have a graduation.. and a graduation party both for different ppl #even tho i had to push back my own graduation by a full year bc things were just not going as planned. and now everyone thinks im a failure #im volunteering to teach at a kids summer camp like thingy. i was supposed to have a partner but i was told that she actually #wants nothing to do with me and was forced into this but i was under the impression that we would be teaching TOGETHER #and not her being an assistant. so now i have to call her and be like heyyyyy what the fuck is going on i need to know the lesson plan #im also volunteering for a church summer thing. if i could i wouldnt be doing this but my self made mother figure asked me personally #to help and i cant say no to this. we get to hang out and i get to paint like murals and shit and we've been doing this together for years #i have to spend the weekend with my bio mother to go to a celtic festival thing bc my younger brother wants to go.#i'm having some pretty severe best friend problems which i am honestly not well equipped enough to deal with and its eating me away inside #summer has officially started here so that means 24/7 headaches and sensory problems. straight up category 5 autism moments #i had to pick up the slack and become a paternal figure to my youngest brother. which is just sad that i have to at all #my dear beloved friend is trying very hard to make a young adult like hangout (???) thing in own town and really wants me to go #but i just dont wanna. i dont really care for social gatherings #hey guys btw all this has happened or was planned for next month in the two weeks i was gone #what the fuck.

#I love three hopes in general actually #I know a lot of people didn't and stuff and that's totally cool I get it #but it is so fun #I love running around with my assassin/trickster Ashe set up he's so fast #he is in fact speed and every second you aren't running he is only getting closer #love that I've managed to break my ashe unit so much that I could probably do the entire game just with him #tried him out as a mage earlier and he kicked ass just saying #this game also has some of my favourite Linhardt moments (read: 'im full of motivation... to sleep that is.')#getting to play as Holst and Rodrigue has been a lot of fun too #also. whoever made the decision to give Ashe supports with both Flayn and Yuri has my entire heart btw. literally all I ever wanted #also whoever cast Damien Haas as m!shez. incredible decision #I have a lot of things I love about this game if you read the tags this far hi how's it goin #happy late 1 year three hopes and once again. i am aware that this is a human thing that many people do but seeing raúl stim is something so pleasing to me
