WIP Tag Game

I was tagged (ages ago, sorry) by the lovely @alxina

I don't have a huge number of WIPs because I generally try and work on one fic at a time. That being said I do have a few

Juxtaposition. I feel bad that I haven't worked on this for a couple of months while I've been working on exchange and fan event fics. Although I've only posted 4 chapters the draft is up to chapter 9 and I'm hoping to get back to it once I finish the fic I'm currently writing

Pangcan - I was inspired by the wonderful comic @nightxshade did featuring Pangzi and Wang Can snarking and flirting. This was supposed to be a short, silly little fic. It ended up being 13k and is my second longest DMBJ fic. And it's not particularly silly. Honestly, I'm not sure what it is but I couldn't stop writing. It's currently with my beta and should be ready to post for panchang week at the end of the month

Sad Pangsang - I had this idea for an angsty pangsang fic months ago and I've finally decided to write it for pangchang week. I only started it today but I don't anticipate it being more than a few thousand words of sadness a mild bit of comfort. People are probably going to hate it because it doesn't really have a happy ending but it's one of those things I just need to get out of my system

Foxy Pangxing - This is little more than an outline and I don't know that I'll actually write it. I had grand ideas of writing Pangzi with all of Liu Chang's characters for Pangchang Week but I didn't anticipate the pangcan fic being so long. So, I had a vague idea of Liu Sang and Wang Can showing up with Another Fox (Yan Sanxing) that's hurt and Pangzi having to take care of it. That was about as far as I got with the idea and like I said I don't know that I'll ever actually write it. I kind of want to get back to Juxtaposition once the sad pangsang fic is finished.

Summary:   He cracks open an eye and barely has time to sit up before there’s a warm and furry bundle on his chest, teeth bared and sharp claws digging into him as golden eyes stare into his.

Pangzi has long since accepted that his life is fucking weird. He faces down tomb monsters on a regular basis, one of his best friends is over a hundred years old but looks like he’s barely out of his teens, and he’s come across more cursed objects than he can count.

Sometimes he considers the alternative, where he works in an office, earns a steady salary, and comes home to a nice wife and children at the end of the day.

He’d be so bored it barely bears thinking about. He definitely prefers weirdness to monotony.

No, he doesn’t have a wife and kids to come home to, but he does have his two best friends and a boyfriend who he loves just as much as any fictional wife. He has access to the best kitchen, and he can cook whatever he wants whenever he wants.

Yeah, his life is weird, but he’s happy. And happiness is more valuable than any treasure he might find in a tomb (although that doesn’t stop him looking - they have to fill the kitchen somehow).

Today is a quiet day at home, and Pangzi intends to take full advantage of the fact that Wu Xie and Xiaoge are otherwise occupied. He doesn’t know exactly what they’re doing nor does he want to. All he cares about is that the chances of Wu Xie touching something he shouldn’t are relatively small so it’s probably safe for him to relax until it’s time to cook dinner.

He’s found the prime spot in the garden, with just enough sun to warm his skin but not so much that he’s at risk of getting burned. He can hear the birds chirping in the trees and the koi splashing around in the pond. It doesn’t get much better than this.

Something growls at his feet.
