Character Information

Tiana Powell is a savvy, sensible twenty-four-year-old woman who aims to open her own restaurant in Redwood Hollow. She may not have the money for it yet, but every day she works hard as a cook and waitress to improve her craft and eventually reach her dream. Her passions are cooking, baking, and poetry (reading it, not writing it). Her life may seem quite singular, considering her all-consuming pursuit of a distant goal, but Tiana finds joy in places you may not expect. One such unexpected joy is her friendship with rich socialite Charlotte La Bouff. Another is Tiana’s pet rabbit, Doris, who Tiana makes sure to pet fondly every morning before work.

Tiana is hardworking to a fault. Many of her peers have tried in vain to turn Tiana from her work for a single night. She’s missed new movies, potential dates, and even her own birthday party that she herself organized for the sake of her jobs. Does Tiana just love cooking that much? Well, yes and no—she adores cooking, but more than that, she values effort for the sake of a worthy goal. This doesn’t mean she would have disliked those new movies or potential dates. Rather, Tiana has become comfortable—perhaps too comfortable—with sacrifice. Her father and mother raised her with kindness and respect, so kindness and respect are what she gives to others. Those who overly burden others, however, will see a sterner side of Tiana.

Some in Redwood Hollow are well-off, but Tiana is not. She has never lived that lifestyle, despite her close friendship with Charlotte, so aspects of a comfortable life will strike her as strange. Furthermore, her father died when she was a child, so Tiana may come across as sentimental during certain moments (on her father’s birthday, for example). Finally, Tiana is a determined person but has little actual experience in a lot of areas (athletics, romance, and social media, to name a few). She will not dazzle if she enters these arenas for the first time, so be warned.

a fellow cook—Tiana loves to talk shop with other chefs, whether amateur or pro. If your character loves to cook for friends and family or even just likes baking cookies, Tiana would appreciate a chat with you!

a fellow poetry fan—Poetry is something that brings Tiana happiness. If you love poets like Langston Hughes (Tiana’s favorite) or E.E. Cummings, hit Tiana up!

a romantic connection—Tiana is unique in that she is so intensely focused on work, to the exclusion of other things in life. This makes any chemistry she has with another person more slow-burn, with an emphasis on tension. Let me know if you’re interested in giving this a try!

Wanted Plots

road trip—Tiana has no interest in leaving Redwood Hollow, but her dream vacation, if she were to ever take one, is a “road trip” of sorts—going from one side of town to the other over the course of a week, discovering shops and restaurants along the way. She would love a handful of girls to accompany her…in the event she ever takes a work vacation, that is.

animal lovers needed—When Tiana’s pet rabbit Doris stops eating, Tiana needs to figure out what the problem is. But, more importantly, she craves the comfort of fellow pet owners who know how it feels to have a sick pet.

new hobby—Tiana’s life is very mundane. This would change with a new hobby, be it knitting or gaming. Though Tiana doesn’t have much free time, she would actually love to learn something new from a more seasoned hobbyist.

best friend forever—Charlotte La Bouff is Tiana’s closest friend, her greatest confidant, her shoulder to cry on. The friends have been inseparable for years now, and Tiana is grateful to Charlotte for everything she’s done, big or small.

i know you’re trouble—Tiana may not know very much about Naveen Maldonia, but she’s convinced that he’s the most arrogant man she’s ever met. She is sure that he feels very little empathy for people like her. This angers her.

Wanted Character: Cabell Facilier—Tiana and Facilier have a fascinating dynamic in The Princess and the Frog, and I would love to see them clash over their very different values.

Wanted Bio: Moana of Motunui—Tiana and Moana would understand one another’s pursuit of a lofty dream. I can see the two becoming good friends.

Character Information

Originally hailing from Edinburgh, Olivia has been living for the last four years in Redwood Hollow with her father, Hiram, a toymaker and owner of a tiny souvenir shop.

Hiram was the victim of a kidnapping when his daughter was only eight years old, so ever since that awful event he has been rather overprotective of his daughter.

The Flavershams moved to this quiet little American town searching for peace, and for Olivia to study Criminology at Redwood College, on the recommendation of Dr Dawson, a friend of the family.

Olivia is extremely kind and friendly to all, though she is also quite excitable, slightly naïve, and just a little bit bratty, as a result from her sheltered upbringing.

With the wave of poisonings and thefts happening around town, despite her inexperience, Olivia is very much eager to help with the investigation and bring justice to her new home.

Friends: As the warm and sociable person she is, Olivia has a bunch of friends already whom she trusts and loves. She’s always excited to establish new relationships though –the more the merrier!

Professors: In order to be an excellent investigator, one needs a little guidance. Olivia is definitely someone happy to learn, if that helps her getting closer to her dream of becoming a Criminologist.

Partners: There's a mystery in town, and Olivia is determined to be the one to solve it. To be able to do that, however, she needs other investigators –let's say, the Watson to her Holmes.

Plot Ideas

Knitting Buddy: Apart from studying, reading and writing, Olivia's next favorite pastime is knitting, and would love for your character to join her with possible patterns and ideas. Yes, it's kind of a typical granny hobby –so that means it's plenty tried and tested!

Reluctant Associates: Olivia prides herself on being a very amiable girl: that doesn't mean that everyone has to love her. Maybe your character has to share a class with her, or is a fellow volunteer at the RHPD, and isn't exactly overjoyed at having to withstand her antics all day long.

Mysterious Leads: Your character might be aware of Olivia's naiveté and inexperience, and so decides to make her a harmless (or not) prank, handing her clues leading to a dead end. Or perhaps they want to make sure Olivia stays out of their way...

Character Information

Francis Price enjoys vying for the hearts of beautiful women. This is his most fundamental quality. Though he would describe himself as an eager student and contented business leader (as he is being considered for a couple management positions for post-graduation), Francis is truthfully a romantic, and he behaves this way in person. His major at Redwood College is business, but he is strongly considering changing it to physics. He has taken classes in both and would rather graduate with the major he gains the most comfort from.

At nineteen years old, amiable Francis is a friend to whoever speaks with him. Whether he’s meeting with an economics professor or telling his fellow students what his most recent crush is, Francis enjoys connecting with fellow humans. This means that his assignments often take a back seat. Many a morning Francis has spent slapping words on paper in order to complete an essay or project. People are often jealous of both Francis’s privilege and Francis’s ability to succeed without trying. His privilege is one thing, but Francis is quick to explain that he genuinely loves his studies—he just doesn’t operate the same way as the average Redwood College student and can’t devote hours to something he would rather see lived out in his own world. He suspects he may have ADD. Though Francis may get along with most everyone, his rivals are the mysterious men in many of his female friends’ lives who hurt their feelings and leave Francis to pick up the pieces. He despises thoughtlessness.

Francis once fell in love with a lovely girl who sang enchantingly. This fellow thirteen-year-old, Sofia Bạch, was the love of Francis’s life…or so he thought at the time. Sofia moved away, and Francis has been searching for her via social media and fellow connections ever since. He’s fallen in love since that connection at thirteen, yet some part of him longs for the easy conversations with and inner beauty of the girl he once admired. He also likes people who are passionate about their friends, as well as people with the same romantic streak he has. Francis uses the pronouns he/him/they and wants his friends and new acquaintances to refer to him using the pronouns they like best, either he or they. Internally, he calls himself “he.”

a new spark—Francis desires a bond with every new woman he meets. If your character identifies as a woman, she may find herself in conversation with a band of students that Francis belongs to. Francis would love to get to know your character better in whatever situation she prefers.

an old spark—Francis has known quite a few wonderful women over the years. (Would you believe he’s never been in a relationship?) If your character knew Francis in high school or when he first entered Redwood College, he would want to reconnect sometime. Give Francis a text or call.

a good friend—Francis’s friends are worth more than gold to him. If your character evaluates Francis and finds a part of him that could use help or attention, he would value their views greatly and would love to spend time with your character.

Wanted Plots

school scuffle—Francis has ideas for the group project that was just assigned, but your character disagrees in a major way. Francis tries to explain his point of view, but your character sees that as immature when he already knows you’re not happy with the project. Francis and your character have a meeting one-on-one to figure the misunderstanding out.

business partner—Francis’s father, the powerful CEO of Regalia Bernard Price, is pressuring his son to open his own consulting firm in Redwood Hollow to gain experience for his future career. Francis may do this; but if your character is business-minded like the Price family is, Francis and your character could open something different.

animal lover—Francis has never had a pet, as much as he’s always wanted a chinchilla named Oracle. Your character is an experienced animal lover and tells Francis the insider secrets of owning an animal like theirs. Francis asks to come over to your place and get to know the animal in question. Your character can agree or just bring the animal to Francis.

first love—Francis’s first crush and “the one that got away” is Sofia Bạch. He remembers how genuine and thoughtful Sofia always was with him, and he is always thinking of ways to reconnect with her.

doesn’t like me—Francis can think of one person who would never, ever want him near her: Guinevere Bạch, or his former friend Sofia’s stepmother. Guinevere acted cold when Francis was warm; that’s why Francis knows she would hate meeting him now that he’s grown. If she would willingly drive him away from Sofia’s house like that, she would despise the type of person he’s become: a man who always offers to come to you, not the other way around. Guinevere would tell Francis exactly what she thought of him if they met again, he’s positive.

Wanted Character: Eric Parker—This dream-oriented young man would get on with Francis. I would love for Eric to encourage Francis in his own dreams, as far from the world of business as they might end up being.

Wanted Bio: Asha—Of all the Disney women, Asha stands out as a person who would change Francis for the greater good. Her strong ideals and dogged perseverance would greatly complement Francis’s willingness to support any woman’s beliefs however he can.

Task Eleven → Intro & Connections

Welcome to our first mandatory task! As I’m sure you have all heard me wax poetic about by now, this task has been created with the intention of helping you all connect better to your fellow writers, and to give you and your partners a head start when it comes to plotting and coming up with connections for your characters. Below you will find a list of plot and connection ideas to help you get started. Now, let me explain the task at hand.

Firstly, treat this like you might do an intro post.

Using the template below as a guide (you can set it out any way you wish, this is just to help you get started) each player must create a post detailing things they are looking for for their characters. There are suggestions in the template for what other things may be useful to include. Anything that is required is marked in bold with an asterisk*. I would then like this post to be pinned to the top of your character blog, or added in some way to your current pinned post, so it is easily accessible to all players. It is up to you if you link it in your theme.

For each character you should have a minimum of 3 connection types, and a further 3 fleshed out plot ideas you are looking for. The more specific you are, the better, but I understand that sometimes a vague title is enough. If there is a plot you really want for your character, put it here! The people need to know.

If you have multiple characters you do not need to fill this out for all of them immediately, but should all be completed by the end of next month. Start with your characters that have less connections when in doubt. Please note that your connections should be varied, and not all focus on shipping and romance, in order to get a good range to work within.

I know a few of you have similar posts already but please take the time to make a new post for this task so I can reblog it to @redwoodhollowreview and make sure to tag the blog as well!

Alba Laplan (she/they) is a 21 year old who juggles the demands of her law major at Redwood College and her internship at the Hart Law Firm.

Alba is of one mind, and it is to please. She will break herself before she is unable to satisfy someone's requests. Their boundaries? More like suggestions. She will let anyone mow down their boundaries in an instant. This is only exaggerated by her social anxiety. Alba gets so caught up in their own head about saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. She would apologise for breathing if they thought it was necessary. Alba is most comfortable around talkative and chatty people, because it gives her brief respite to not have to talk.

Alba's family doesn't come from great economic standing, and they put a lot of pressure on her to succeed so that she can contribute financially. Due to their scrutiny, she is quite afraid of and submissive to authority figures.

Task Eleven → Intro & Connections

Deziree Tremaine // 22 // Fashion Design Major // She/Her [Biography tba.]

+ Disciplined, Calculating, Loyal - Jealous, Cold, Tactless

Quick Facts:

Only call her Dezi if she likes you.

Tries very, very hard to stay on trend and look as fashionable as humanly possible. Yes she is judging your fit.

LOVES shoes and bags. Would sell her soul for a Birkin.

Could wax poetic on the history of Chanel, Prada and Mugler.

Can be incredibly standoffish and difficult to warm up.

Bisexual, but doesn’t like people enough to do anything about it.

She is very well practised in the art of people pleasing, batting her eyelashes, saying the right thing, in an attempt to get a foot in the right places, but as of late has become disillusioned by it. It really isn’t getting her anywhere.

As much as Deziree Tremaine wants to be in the “In-Crowd” she actually, deep down, hates that she’s so desperate to be in with the In. She has always been just on the edge of it, never quite getting the footing she was aiming for.

Forever trying to live up to Mother Tremaine’s impossible standards, seek her approval, and do exactly what mommy dearest wants.

The problem is that Ms. Tremaine has been in prison for going on 2 years (?) which has left Dezi effectively “purposeless”. She doesn’t really know who she is without her mother dictating her life choices. Anastasia and Deziree have both been keeping their mother’s whereabouts a massive secret, which is difficult with people from her old circles ask where she is. The current lie is that she’s on a spa retreat for her health.

On top of that, coming to terms with the fact that their mom had been abusing Ella for years, and that they may well have been victims themselves in different ways is really difficult when you can’t afford a therapist and you’re sure all of your friends were just status symbols.

Dezi has cut herself off emotionally from everything, and is hasn’t really been able to feel anything for months now.

At this point Deziree isn’t sure if she actually has any real friends.

She has no money (except from the secret job she has to try to pay back Ella all the rent she owes her). Deziree really hates that she can’t just buy new shoes on a whim now.

Ex-Step-Sister - Ella Fontaine

When Deziree first learned that she was going to be getting a new step-sister, because Mom was marrying some guy, she was so excited that she couldn’t shut up about it. Yeah, she had her real sister Anastasia, but a new sister and friend sounded so cool! (She was about 6 at the time, and unjaded. Anastasia was about 8, and this new girl, Ella, 10).

Ms. Tremaine put a quick stop to that excitement, however, and instructed that Deziree was not to make friends with her, as she wasn’t really her family. She kept them separate in all affairs. When Ella’s father passed, Ms. Tremaine’s treatment of Ella only worsened.

Over the years, under the influence of mom, Deziree didn’t treat Ella with much kindness (though there had always been that little niggling in the back of her head that she wanted to be friends with Ella but wasn’t allowed, and had to keep up the act to please her mom and avoid having the treatment turned on herself and Anastasia).

She became jealous of Ella -she was pretty and gentle and kind despite everything- especially of the attention that her mom devoted to Ella, even if it was negative. Deziree’s opinion of Ella was skewed by her mom’s view of her -Deziree had to be better than Ella to win mom’s affection (of which there was very little) and being better than Ella was hard because Ella was perfect.

When Ella won her court case against Ms. Tremaine, Ella agreed to let the sisters stay in her house as long as they paid rent. Deziree was conflicted, knowing her part in Ella’s treatment and knowing that the chances of mending their relationship were slim, but ultimately agreed when she realised she had nowhere else to go.

Ella has always treated Deziree with kindness despite it all.

Their relationship is incredibly strained but she is taking baby steps to opening up to her ex-step-sister to maybe one day become friends after all. At the very least, she is trying to treat her with more sympathy than she ever did before.

Wanted Connections / Wanted Plots

“Friends” - People who Deziree claims to be friends with, or people who were linked to the world of the wealthy. You know, they say they’re all, like, totally BFFs, come be in my selfie! But really they couldn’t tell you 2 interesting facts about each other after all the small talk at parties.

Mentor or Fashion School Professor - Deziree is a fashion student but has always felt overshadowed by Ella’s attendance on the same course, and the fact Ella went on to open her own fashion business. She may be vain, but her self-esteem isn’t actually that great, and she could use a guiding hand that genuinely wants to see her succeed. OR on the other hand, a professor who just can’t stop comparing her to the wonderful Ella and Deziree has to prove them wrong.

Bullied - LBR Deziree was a bully in high school because she thought it would get her in with the cool kids. Someone from Deziree’s year or below at school that she picked on.

Friends of Lady Tremaine - Lady Tremaine knew many, many people (but not enough people knew her or her daughters for her liking). Someone has most certainly noticed she hasn’t been to any functions recently. Deziree will continue lying about it. Probably older people of Redwood Hollow, and more likely to be well-off.

A Real Friend - Deziree really needs to make her first real friend that isn’t part of the wealthy world she has always aspired to be a part of. Good luck to whoever dares try.

I actually don’t have many wanted plots for Deziree that don’t link to the wanted connections above. She really just needs warming up and to get out of the cycle of trying to fit in with crowds that don’t want her. Dezi is stuck in her ‘I don’t know who I am but I don’t know I don’t know who I am’ phase right now so anything that gets her out of her shell and her comfort zone. I’m willing to talk plots for her! If she fits a connection you want or a plot, I’m down.

Nani Pelekai // Thirty // Owner of Ohana Dance Studios // She/Her [Biography]

Quick Facts:

Moved to Redwood Hollow from Hawai’i when she was 14 because of her dad’s job. They were supposed to move back when dad’s 5-year contract ended, but they didn’t get that far. The Pelekai’s still live in the house that their parents bought when they moved to Redwood Hollow.

#Disaster Bisexual - has for sure had the hots for all of her best friends at some point, and the only person that knows this is her Super Secret Diary.

Never sits down. Runs on caffeine. Tries to cook but is fucking awful at it. Sleep, whomst?

Has worked just about every single job going in Redwood Hollow at some point in the past 12 years.

Was a surfing champion in Hawai’i in her teens, and often went back during the summer to compete after moving to Redwood Hollow.

Was accepted to Redwood College for Dance & Sports Sciences on a sports scholarship, and had started her first year before ultimately dropping out to look after Lilo.

Fought tooth and nail to keep her family together, and will absolutely fight anyone who gets in the way of that. (To be fair, she’ll fight you for less. Don’t piss her off unless you want to be absolutely roasted to death.)

Drives an absolutely ancient car that only has a cassette player. She saved up for it as a teen through odd jobs and competition earnings, and finally had enough to buy her first car the year after her parents died. She hasn’t been able to afford another since.

Nani is super friendly and can talk to just about anyone, but be warned, she is also extremely sarcastic and takes no bullshit from anybody. She will call you out.

Nani and Paxton are one giant question mark, and one big avoided answer. They’re totally dating, but they’re both also totally stupid and in denial about. Everyone can see it. Paxton makes Nani feel all sorts of ways -happy being the main one- and she’s absolutely terrified she’s going to fuck it up by putting a label on it. She’s also scared that if she lets herself focus too much on herself and a relationship, she’ll miss something with Lilo. She will come out with the excuse that she’s “too busy” for all that mushy romance shit, but let’s be real, one look at Paxton’s puppy dog-eyes and floppy hair and she’s swooning. Plus, he’s a great cook, prime roasting fodder, and makes for a very comfortable napping location.

Watch Where You’re Going, Stupid Head! - Someone gets on Nani’s bad side for one reason or another. Maybe they almost hit her with their car and she proceeds to stick a boot in their bumper and she has to pay for the damages, or someone just catches her on a really bad day.

Two Left Feet - Nani has been tasked with teaching someone to dance, either because they want to build their confidence, or because they want to surprise someone, or anything really, but it turns out they have the coordination of a shopping cart.

Green Eyes - Would an Are-They-Dating? plot be complete without a little jealousy added into the mix to spice things up a little? Either Nani is jealous of someone who had been eyeing Paxton up at the bar, or she misconstrued a look from Paxton to someone else as potential flirting and honed in on that poor person instead of calling Paxton out, because she’s totally not jealous or anything.

DAVID KAWENA my beloved! - Nani’s all-time best friend. They grew up together, and David was there for Nani and Lilo when their parents died. David was always Nani’s rock, her voice of reason, and her shoulder to cry on. At some point there were mutual feelings, and they almost dated multiple times, but Nani never acted on her feelings because she was afraid of ruining their friendship. (David was too important to her to lose him over something as stupid as dating.)

Honestly, would love to say they were best friends in Hawai’i and he came here to start college with Nani, and then tragedy struck, but can totally work with anything here. He either has been here this whole time, or had to move back to The Island a few years ago but Nani still keeps him updated on everything.

(And honestly who doesn’t love a bit of almost-lovers drama? Especially now that Nani is almost-kinda-sorta dating Paxton amarite???)

MOSES PULOKI - In the movie, this is Lilo’s Hula Teacher. Totally up for spitballing ideas on this one, but either he was Nani & Lilo’s childhood Hula Teacher, now in Redwood Hollow as a trainer or retiree, or he’s the person Nani took over the studio from.

Stephen Pelakai - Nani & Lilo’s Adopted Brother. Honestly, as if social work wasn’t complicated enough they had to go and adopt Stephen into the family. Nani is listed as his guardian, as she is with Lilo, but she calls him little brother.

Cobra Bubbles - The Pelekai family social worker. Nani couldn’t see it at the time, but Bubbles really was looking out for Nani to make sure she did what was best for Lilo. I just think it would be really fun to see their dynamic now that Nani isn’t fighting against him all the time, and the risk of Lilo being taken away is now 0 because she’s not a minor anymore.

he’s charismatic and charming and could talk his way out of anything. he’s generally a laid back guy who doesn’t want to make life hard for anyone. he’s brave and courageous and will always throw himself in the line of fire if it meant saving someone. 

buzz is is better at keeping his emotions in check than most people and can come across cold, but when his temper kicks off he can be vengeful if someone’s done something to hurt anyone he cares about. he’s stubborn at the best of times and he can dig his heels in if he believes he’s right, but he will eventually come around and hear your side out. 

Additional Notes*

has terrible vision - started off with being colourblind but his vision as since worsened. He wears contacts but can sometimes be seen wearing glasses - he hates them and usually woody’s dog bullseye has to act as a guide dog for him

despite his vision issues, he’s second in line in terms of numbers for arrests etc in the RHPD, behind woody the golden boy.

after his own mental health issues, he is big on mental health being given the tools it needs and runs a support group for people who feel like they need assistance. he personally checks in on all participants on a daily basis to make sure they’re all okay.

patrick is someone that can’t hide his emotions. It became a running joke that he could only feel one emotion at a time since whatever emotion he felt seemed to completely overwhelm him. he’s not the most intelligent person, in fact, in his own opinion his brother got all the good genes and all the leftover ones were left for him. he’s tall and has a default facial expression that can be daunting and intimidating to others but he is a big softie on the inside. patrick is awkward and incredibly anxious about a lot of things and that is a main factor to why he  prefers to stay in the background, leaving his brother to take the lead out of them both.

patrick is a dumb dumb. he’s not great at identifying what people need in terms of care but he tries his best and that really shows. he only tries when he’s around people he cares about. patrick is selective of who he cares about, he’s been burned before. he keeps his circle small to his family/extended family. if someone’s in need and it’s an emergency, it’s probably not patrick you want to call for.

fake girlfriend because I saw what lengths my mum went to to set up my brother and i don’t want that to happen to me. it started out as a joke. patrick invited muse b to one of their family’s formal dinner parties to get their relatives off of their case. so many business opportunities to talk about, but somehow, a young adult’s love-life was much more interesting. muse b agreed to it, having grown up in a much poorer setting, just to see what it was like. the first party that they attended together, muse a found much more interesting than any had ever before, all of the attention taken off from them. muse b found it to as amazing as they imagined. they fit in naturally in the setting, creating avid conversation with all around. after that, a pact was made. patrick and muse b would be formal dates to these parties in each event. but what happens when an act begins to slip into reality?

romeo & juliet (mob version) - they’re involved in the mob on opposing sides. they meet on a mission or are sent to wipe the other out, safe to say that doesn’t happen. they sneak around to avoid being caught, drama and angst ensues

patrick ends up getting a room-mate and they continuously keep getting into awkward situations between the two like, he walks in on her in the shower or she walks in on him half naked and it just keeps getting super super awkward between the two and you can just feel the tension between the two

boss - @haydenbodaway - when patrick first met hayden properly he know there and then what the phrase ‘fear of god’ really meant. despite being his dad, hayden checks that title at the door and when they’re in a workplace environment, it’s strictly boss and employee in both bar and mob. the mob is a secret in town and patrick is third in command after hayden and paxton. he knows hayden is prepping paxton to take over the mob one day and patrick is relieved that he doesn’t have to deal with that responsibility.

He truly believes that his brother knows what’s best for them.

ex - @sweetellafontaine - ella and patricks relationship has become a complicated one. ella is hayden’s goddaughter. patrick and ella were good friends and patrick looked out for ella, eventually ella had confessed feelings for him and after what felt like forever he finally opened up and confessed the same. it wasn’t long after that things had fallen apart, he had fallen out of favour and they split up. patrick took this hard as ella had encouraged him to open up. it was the first time he had really opened up to someone only for them to decide it wasn’t for them. it was a harsh blow. he knows it’s not ella’s fault, but it’s hard to not feel a sting at that. 

brother’s girlfriend whatever the hell is going on - @themanagerisavampirex - and patrick thought he was the stupid one. jesus christ. watching nani and paxton skate around their obvious feelings has patrick wanting to scream. no only is it a harsh reminder he’s likely to be forever alone, but it’s the first time he’s seen his brother genuinely happy. paxton was always so angry and deliberatly drows himself in a sea of work (both the bar and mob) but nani has managed to pull him up for air. patrick honest to god likes seeing his brother happy, he forgot what his brothers laugh sounded like until nani came along. he’s just worried about how nani will react when paxton tells her other work/not bar related news.

The Personality*

+ Strong, Loyal, Intelligent - Reckless, Narcissistic, Overprotective

Paxton is the eldest of the Patterson brothers by two years. Even now he sees himself still looking after his little brother at times. They are in their thirties and they are still wrestling and causing chaos when they’re together. Being the older sibling, a lot fell on Paxton. He and his brother were on the streets growing up and it wasn’t until they met Hayden that things changed. Paxton started working for Hayden and with the money we was earning, Paxton could use it for he and his brother. Paxton is loyal to the very depth of his bones but his loyalty will always lie most with his brother first and then Hayden.

Being in the role that he is in now, Paxton is often used as the brawn. He was the one that would kick off a fight and end it without any damage. But with the power and the doors that got opened while working for Hayden, Paxton has developed a habit of being reckless in situations. He’s very much a punch first, think later kind of guy and that works for him. He’s a bit of a pretty boy. He knows he looks good and he works out daily in the gym to keep himself in peak physical condition. Paxton is happy to fight for the cause as long as it doesn’t bust up his face.

Rita is your resident ‘here for a good time, not a long time’ gal and you’ll be lucky to really know anything about her. She’s super charming, very friendly and is totally friends with everyone! Um, just not close friends. You know how it is...

Grew up in New York city, living there for the majority of her life before bouncing around. She had roots there- real, deep, connections- and then she left. And decided to never do that again, thank you very much!

Ended up in Redwood Hollow after drifting for what felt like forever. There was something almost comforting about just how homey, ‘know your neighbour’, it is here. It feels like she could really be a part of something- if she wanted to.

Loves to dance and kiss pretty people before never calling them back! She was really just trying to chill out and look hot, to be perfectly honest. Never dwell too long on things that might hurt her feelings- the usual stuff.

When Halloween happened and she got a batch of the Bad PepsiTM, it gave her a big ole dose of existential crisis. She knew everybody, she had so many friends (right?) and she had people that cared about her (right?). She let people care about her and know her, right? Wrong.

‘Take it outside, pal!’ - Rita caught you on a bad night but you were causing just even trouble she had to toss you out of the bar! Maybe now things are awkward or there’s a grudge! Maybe the memory of that night hasn’t quite come back to them until... 

‘You only call me when it’s half past five’ - so this can either be for your character at Rita or vice versa! But they never really hang out under normal circumstances. They only ever call them when they need a ride home or are feeling lonely, or are being a mess. They tell them secrets and pretend they never kissed. Still, either one of them still keeps picking up the phone.

Victor genuinely roots for Adam and wants the best for him. Now that Adam’s found Mary, Victor sees the happiness radiating from his friend and he’s over the moon for him.

karen has lived more lifetimes than one person should have. her life always revolved around art and photography and while she was considered a protégé in the fields, she was always inquisitive and wanted to absorb as much information as she could. she’s a woman that would ask a million questions. It all stemmed from an accident she had as a teenager. a reckless kid wrapped up in a lifestyle of drugs and booze, and she stupidly got in a car with someone she trusted when she shouldn’t have. not realising the driver was drunk; the car set off on its journey and not long after was involved in a hideous crash. karen barely made it out alive, and was rushed to the hospital. a diagnosis of a serious head injury later, the doctors found out that karen’s memory had gone, and she had to learn everything from scratch. during the time it took for her to heal, karen got clean and sober, and her art was a saving grace for her.

karen still has memory issues and can be forgetful. she relies heavily on lists and post-it notes to keep her on track. for someone that’s forgetful and can’t remember a huge chunk of her life, karen’s extremely laid back and free-spirited. she figures if it was important enough, her brain would remember it. 

deciding she needed a quieter lifestyle, she settled in redwood hollow and opened up forkin’ knife tattoo studio. it brings a steady income and it takes the weight of paying bills off her shoulders while she gets to spend her free time painting and working on her photography. 

does karen wish she had a less turbulent life? sure. but they do say all artists are tortured in one way or another.

violet is the eldest child of @robertpxrr and @helenpxrr and the sister to dash and jack-jack. unlike her brothers, violet is more reserved, uncertain, shy and socially withdrawn, who has a few self-esteem issues - preferring to leave the limelight to her brothers. Violets relationship with her brothers couldn’t be more different. dash and her clash more than anyone, her obvious frustration with him is his childish behaviour and constant teasing that grates on her nerves. whereas with jack-jack, things are more tame, and she finds she had more in common with her youngest brother. the parr siblings can be a rowdy bunch when they all fight, but violet is fiercely protective of her brothers and would risk it all for them. despite all their fights it’s a ‘ride or die’ mentality with the parrs.

she is someone that possesses a curious and experimental nature to life willing to explore the things she was once uncertain about. shyness was once something that plagued violets life but as she got older she gradually learned that it was okay to branch out and over time had found some confidence. she’s still self-conscious but with an aunt and boss like edna mode, it’s hard to blend into the background. violet has a sharp and observational sense of humor but when her temper flares her once witty tongue turns into a forked one.

parents don’t approve - violet and muse b become close and her parents don’t approve of whatever is going on between them. 

tony rydinger (doesn’t have to be this specific character) - violets long time crush finally notices her and they go on a date. a date becomes dates and things get serious. her dad gets too overprotective of her and ruins her relationship with muse b, causing muse b and her friendship to break down. violet is miserable and blames her dad. violet and muse b try to salvage what’s left of them and sneak around. they eventually get caught and it spirals from there.

father - @robertpxrr - while her mum pushes her, bob is happy to let violet do her own thing and at her own pace. he is fiercely protective over violet and can overstep his mark at times when looking out for her because he believes he’s doing what’s best for her. violet has more in common with her dad than she does with her mum. they bond over music and reading. it was bob that actually suggested Violets name when she was born. In preparation of her birth, he accidentally washed her pink baby blanket with a blue sock which resulted in the blanket coming out violet when the dye ran from the sock. he found it fitting that his daughter would make her own mark on the world before she even entered it.
