half life scientist oc concept...:3

joan was stationed on the border world during the resonance cascade, and after communication from black mesa was lost she managed to synthesize a portal back to earth herself. on xen she mostly studied the biological lifeforms, like the houndeyes and bullsquids, along with researching vortigese.

shes super reluctant to do any sort of harm to xenian lifeforms when back on earth, instead preferring to Run Like Hell or hide, using her prerequisite skills from her studies on xen to survive. having her cool special purple hev suit helps too.

her houndeye friend (it doesnt have a name yet) was the first thing she encountered after getting back to earth. she learned how to properly deal with houndeyes during her research, and since ol' houndie got teleported all on its lonesome, it bonded to joan. theyre basically best friends now and she has to keep it on a leash so that it doesnt attack every friendly scientist or security guard they may come across. houndeye named cupcake when it sees an unsupervised 60 year old scientist

also, shes hard of hearing and employs use of a hearing aid (i dont know if you can tell from the simplified version i drew) which renders her more resistant to the houndeye's sonic attacks than the average person.

i havent gotten around to drawing it yet, but i think she survives to the events of half life 2. maybe she has a xenian animal sanctuary out there somewhere, and can introduce houndeyes and bullsquids as allies to the player (similar to the antlions)

MY FIRST HALF-LIFE 2 OC! Meet Zivko, the salvaged stalker. most of his info is written on his sheet but i'll include them here + other facts :)

-Nicknamed the 'Salvaged Stalker' -5'11" and 16.2kg -He barely escaped the stalkerization process being liberated during the major raid of Nova Prospekt. -Zivko used to be a skilled mechanic in the Resistance, but he now has to regain the skills he lost as he recovers. -He was tortured and his memory was wiped, but luckily he was rescued before he reached the 'conditioning' stage. With the help of his ride or die vort buddy, he is regaining his sense of self and his memories. -His life is dedicated to freeing those under the combine. The reason as to why he was saved from a fate worse than death is unknown, but this mystery steers him to go on. -He has hacked combine eye enhancements installed to restore his vision (combine plucked his eyes out). -Due to the removal of his genitals, rebel medics fitted him with a urostomy & colostomy. His waist bindings hold the ostomies in place. (smaller is urostomy, larger is colostomy) -He looked a lot different before this happened to him, maybe another time i'll draw how he looked before it all. -An extra beam on the back of his legs were installed for better mobility and support. -His rebel insignia and bracelet were crafted by his vortigaunt buddy (who has yet to be drawn, I will get on that soon), the cyan paint is made from the same substance as the vort murals we see in HL:A. -Because of his serious body image problems (rightfully so), he almost always years clothing that covers his body and face. He is also susceptible to the cold due to his weight. -Because of the removal of his nose and outer ears, he's also susceptible to respiratory problems and his hearing can be quite sensitive, not always sure of the direction of sounds. -Sad but important fact about him, because of the constant pain he's in and his shattered image of himself, he'd rather be dead. The only thing keeping him around is the fact that he is alive. Somehow HE, some random mechanic, survived against the odds and might just be one of, if not THE, only people to come out of Nova Prospekt still human. Even if he doesn't understand it yet, there must be a reason for his survival.

his name is rogers ! :) (i redesigned him. idk if i posted his previous design i forgot) ; he is both half life and hlvrai oc!! for rp purposes.

he is mixed with mexican heritage (his abuela is mexican) his mom was mixed and his dad is from georgia (USA) .. he has uhh a slight southern accent bcs he predominantly lived with his dad while his mom was off working with her side of family

she would often be working with her family bcs of the business her family had. rogers grew up working in the ranch with his dad and aunt (his dad's sister) ,,, they'd give horse lessons to locals sometimes. when rogers was old enough he started hrt alongside trying to get a proper education for a veterinary degree. but because of the treatment he was going through he couldn't financially sustain his degree and at age 21 he quit then worked in his ranch for a bit to help his aunt n dad.

till his colleage (of different degree) told him about black mesa and how he should try working there since they(his friend) began working there too as security. he was a bit reluctant because. why would he wanna work in an underground facility. but because it wasn't far and his dad was pretty excited by the prospect of his son working at a COOL. SECRET facility. so he encouraged him..
