Playing Reimeiroku right now and wish Sannan had a friendship route with Ibuki.

In the common route of Reimeiroku, in one section, Sannan answers three of Ibuki questions about the current political upheavals of the country. And after Ibuki finishes asking, Sannan says: it is a very dangerous thing to be ignorant. And Ibuki thinks that it sounds almost like a threat and he feels chills running down his spine.

Also in another part, Sannan gives Ibuki hints on how to lie so he does not get beaten up by Serizawa.

I want a route of this dynamic with Sannan teaching Ibuki stuffs and make him more politically and socially aware, with Sannan becoming slowly fonder of Ibuki because he is honest and simple.

Maybe in the next ten years and they decide to port this game to another platform, we may get this route…

I know this relationship has potentials.

SHOCKING: regarding the rumors about todo heisuke not being an ally

i'm about to cause discourse on tumblr..... lol

first things first: obv everyone is entitled to their onions and headcanons, im not coming for the person i saw post abt heisuke not being gay or an ally, and they're allowed to feel and share their opinions abt queer hakuouki takes. i prefer not to make them feel attacked so pls dont go trying to find their post and responding to it just bc you see this. esp bc for all i know, other people feel the same way about heisuke !!! i just want to clear up these rumors abt him ok ! xD

-photo one: taken directly from EB, this one line from Sannan not only points out that the rest of the shinsengumi crew is so close and valuable to heisuke that even others view them as "his pack" aka his family, but also showcases the moment that heisuke has gone far out of his way to be here to confront Sannan with relationship to his previous bond to Sannan, and his current bonds to the shinsengumi and chizuru. even if we pretend that heisuke isn't gay in some way (he is) of course he would also view his queer friends with the same loving ferocity and defend them with his life. if anything he is one of the most all for one, one for all, protective and loving shinsengumi members of the bunch.

-photo two: always prioritizing and protecting the "underdog/weakest", even above other people who we have literally seen him be willing to give his life for. he recognizes when life/the situation is unfairly against someone else and he is on their team to try to help them.

-photo four: hajime here is kindly pointing out for us: heisuke has Been Through It. i could go all day talking abt his not being wanted/accepted in his family as a child, his bond with ibuki, sannan, hajime, etc, his 'sunshine to mask the pain' personality, and how they relate to and mirror queer experiences, but at the base of this all, Heisuke knows exactly what it means to not fit in, to be different, and to have gone through hell to accept himself. if thats not the queer experience idk what is lol.

-photo five: my king so generously points out to us that he has never had feelings for a woman besides Chizuru (or MC for my self insert babies uwu). Where many other characters are hinted at being ladykillers or non-virgins etc, Heisuke has always been very candid about not having had any close bond with a woman before, much less have had feelings or even attraction to one. Sure, he gets embarrassed when the baka trio go to fun sexy lady places, but he himself doesn't ever really say that *he* is attracted to any of the other women he comes into contact with. points can be made here for him being bisexual/pansexual with or without a leaning towards men, demi/ace spectrum for his attraction seemingly going hand in hand with his closeness with a person, etc

-photo seven: WATCH OR PLAY REIMEIROKU. this is obv from EB but the bond that ibuki and heisuke share is almost unbearable in how much they love and care for each other like,,,, what is your first love if not someone you wish will be happy in life with or without you? ibuki is so clearly not a samurai, he's an artsy little outcast (also incredibly queer-coded and missed on that post imo), and heisuke relates to and grows close to him, missing and loving him from afar, even so far as to refrain from going to see him personally in fear of disrupting their peace.

Why:

Okita Hen: Okita is one of the three most popular characters of Hakuouki, so considering that we had two Hijikata Hens and two Saito Hens, there's definitely a possibility.

Iba & Sakamoto: according to the muster he had right now, it could be either of these two. The only down in their possibility is that they aren't very popular routes and might be hard to adapt

Harada and Heisuke: these two routes could either get a Shitan or a Shinkai.

The smaller possibilities:

Hijikata and Kazama could always get a Shinkai Adaption looking at their popularity.

As for Shinpachi and Yamazaki: they haven't had a route yet. What makes them possible: they are closer to the story of all and probably easier to adapt. What makes them less possible: they are kinda close to Sannan as an old character new route characters.

Okita from Hakuouki definitely gives me vibes of 'adult in child's body' to 'child in adult's body' But you know what? I think he deserves that as a treat!

Based on the fragments I've seen of his past in Reimeiroku and the Hakuouki remakes, he had to take on an awful lot as a kid: loss/ mourning, bullying, a lowered reputation in society, his sister Mitsuba even having to give him away...life handed him so many forms of suffering, that it's as if his kid self had long grown used to resigning himself to it. It's just sad to see a kid have to endure so much bs, over and over again to the point that they end up losing their sense of agency and autonomy in life.

I felt like crying when Kondou helped him out, inspiring to fight back...and even taking care of him whilst he was covered in blood after gaining the will to fight back against the tide of bs that people and life kept throwing at him.

Finally, someone other than his sister who treats him like he matters; like he has some worth!! I do feel like that enabled him to be a bit more like a kid again, for there was now somebody there who would give a damn if anything bad happened to him; giving him room to vocalise his needs. And the other shinsengumi guys gradually let him in as well, giving him multiple pillars of support (even if some were his allegaled 'competition' for Kondou-san).

And boy, is the child-like side of Okita quite something...

Lmao though despite saying that he acts more like a child in an adult's body thanks to all the many funny teasing moments, playing with (bullying) fellow kids AND adults, and enjoying a bit of whimsy... now that I think about it, that side of him from childhood- that acts without a regard for his own needs, mechanically fulfilling whatever he deems best or right to do, even at the cost of his own self- still remains strongly ingrained inside of him.

I am assuming that a lot links to how Kondou has such a profound meaning in Okita's life that he even mimicked his hairstyle, and is first to murder anyone who much as dares threaten Kondou's Shinsengumi; so I guess that he would do absolutely anything for this man, who is a vital part of his feelings and emotional development. It would be horrifying to lose the one who fully took you in and gave you the space to actually be a kid, to actually be spoilt for once, and loved. Kondou gave him a purpose, and thus dedicates his entire self to him as a possible means of showing that love. And to the others he cares for as well, it seems he will completely risk his everything for their sake (especially his damned health! i see you not eating and worsening your condition over remaining as the loyal sword of the shinsengumi to maintain your sense of worth to others, even when you look like you're about to die, OKITA!!)

So you know what I say? Let him pout, get emotional and play around with cats! He's taken too many Ls to be an adult in an adult's body!!!! And besides, that side of him can be pretty cute sometimes (if not also scary every now and then).

So in Remeiroku, I feel like Sannan is so much gentler with Heisuke than with Okita. In Okita’s route, he kinda enabled and used Okita but in Heisuke’s route, he can be very understanding and nice to Heisuke.

I can’t help feeling that Sannan really kind people even when he keeps telling them to throw away their kindness and to be cruel.

Accessing Hakumyu Guide

Okay. So I’ve had a number of people ask me for “How to watch Hakumyu” help as I am one of the individuals who is willing to share files to the fandom and who is also on the LJ... so I wrote a guide for the FAQ I get.

First, files uploaded on the Hakumyu LJ and the Hakumyu files that are shared by others are not to be streamed, shared or uploaded elsewhere, but directing someone to the respective website/persons is acceptable.

The Hakumyu community relies on people’s generosity to get translations and subtitle files created, and for the musicals to be shared... so don’t go ruining it. Translating and subtitling can take a significant amount of time to do, and the musicals themselves are not cheap to buy and ship.

In case it needs to be stated, the term “Hakumyu” is a generally used term referring to the abbreviation of “Hakuoki Musical” or “Musical Hakuoki” even though there are “HAKU-MYU LIVE” musicals.

Accessing Hakumyu

(I am assuming that anyone reading this will have prior knowledge of what Hakuoki musicals have been produced, though information on the what the first 12 musicals are can be found on the Wikia.)

The most common recommendation made to watch Hakumyu, is to join the Hakumyu LiveJournal community. It is also the same group that anyone referring to the Hakumyu fancom or Hakumyu LJ, is speaking of. 

The Fancom is a closed community that you must request membership to join in order to access its files, and requires the creation of a LiveJournal account. The post where membership requests are made is the “[MOD-POST MUST READ TO JOIN] Welcome, to the Land of sparkly Shinsengumi, Oni & Rasetsu!” post. Details on how to join the community are on that post. 

To locate what DVD rips and subtitle files have been shared directly to the Fancom, go to the “[DOWNLOADS MASTERPOST] Hakuouki Musicals Downloads” post. Additionally, the subtitles for the original Saito-hen can be found through the mirror link of the Saito-hen musical download (included this info as the file under the subtitles link still redirects to the hakumyu wikia). 

Alternatively, you can now join the newer back-up Hakumyu LJ fancom to access the majority of files that were shared to the original Hakumyu LJ if waiting for a membership request to go through... since that community only has one mod to process membership requests. However, like the original fancom, you must request access to join here.

In regards to the files that are NOT on the fancom, and therefore do not require membership to the Hakumyu LJ community, there are a number of them which can be found here on tumblr, which include (remove the slash “/” to get the usernames):

Subtitles for Hijikata-hen, LIVE, Shinsengumi Kitan and LIVE 2 are obtainable here (reposted and reuploaded with permission from @/janiesj)

Subtitles for Kazama-hen can be obtained via @/masayume85 (I think you might have to search for the post for them... 

Subtitles for Toudou-hen and Harada-hen can be obtained from @/lady-mug. They should be under the “subs" tag. lady-mug also shares DVD rips of LIVE 2, Toudou-hen, Reimeiroku, Harada-hen, Shinsengumi Kitan, Shitan Hijikata-hen and Shitan Kazama-hen, but you have to send her a direct message when making requests (also please be polite and follow her rules!).

Subtitles of Reimeiroku can be obtained via @/sohmariku under the “Hakumyu” tag.

Subtitles and DVD rips for Hakumyu Shitan Kazama and Souma-hen can be obtained from @/funjoushi, but you must ask them for their files (do not be anonymous when doing so).

@/legendary-girl-a shares assorted CD, soundtrack, DVD and Blu-ray rips of her files. You must ask them for their files by direct private message only. (tumblr no long available. their files are on the 2nd Hakumyu LJ)

I share Blu-ray rips and HD files of Hakumyu musicals, but I have my own rules that need to be followed and only receive requests through direct messages (sorry but I am not elaborating further on anything else given how many times I’ve already done that). 

Translations of Kazama-hen’s extras are here and LIVE extras are here. 

Also, since I have been asked this more than once, in terms of what order to watch the musicals, I would go Saito-hen -> Okita-hen -> Hijikata-hen -> LIVE -> Kazama-hen or Toudou-hen or Reimeiroku or Shinsengumi Kitan -> LIVE2 ->  Shitan Hijikata-hen or Shitan Kazama-hen -> Shinkai Souma-hen -> Shinkai Saito-hen -> LIVE 3

The order for that specific recommendation is due to how Saito-hen is the first musical (and it shows), while LIVE contains spoilers for Saito-hen, Okita-hen and Hijikata-hen, and LIVE 2 contains spoilers for Kazama-hen, Toudou-hen, Reimeiroku and Shinsengumi Kitan. 

p.s. if someone can think of something else that should be added to this, let me know.... since i get these sort of questions quite regularly.
