issa hair #transformationtuesday The second picture is a couple of months before I started transitioning to wearing my hair natural, it had gotten to the point where my hair was just breaking off and looking really thin. I had been getting Japanese straight perms since I was 12 years old because I had no idea what to do with my natural hair but they had really left my hair damaged. It was in 2012 when I started noticing a lot of girls were transitioning to natural hair and I was honestly so jealous. I felt it was something I'd never be confident enough to do. Eventually after seeing so many beautiful curls being embraced, I was finally done dealing with brittle, dull hair. It took watching a good amount of YouTube tutorials, trying many transitioning hair styles, a lot of conditioner/styling products, very minimal heat, 3 years of complete grow out + 2 years of healthier lifestyle habits to get here, but I am beyond happy with my hair.
