It's kind of irritating how most v-pet reviews/impressions in my experience seem to come from people who make the review the same day that they are unboxing their v-pet, and because of that they have not run theirr v-pet for even one day day
...this applies less to Digimon, because Digimon fans tend to vlog their whole experience over the course of several videos, and most of us know what to expect anyway, but I find with Gigapets, the videos you get are often something like this:
"opens the box" so yeah this is what the package looks like, it's really cute, ummm let's pull the tab out, oh look at the cute baby pet, let's feed it, umm... I don't get that... why is it doing that... ummm... well it's cute, I like the shells, very nice animation, 10/10, please like and subscribe"
Can we please get someone who spends like a month with their V-pet before doing a review? I would give you a very good review of the Gigapets Pixie after a few days, but a week later I'd probably tell you it's not a good pet and that you should avoid it.
V-pets are a slow burn pet sim game, so the reviews should reflect that instead of being a thing you try to rush out for quick clicks.
This Is my current tamagotchi and vpet collection i have 8 now and another one in the way, I'm getting addicted to collecting and hunting for them, I'm like looking at selling sites everyday now (somebody need to stop me 0w0")
Also opening them up for maintenance and cleaning it's so satisfying >w<
The last one I ordered is the pac man tamagotchi nano ^^
Got myself a new (old) non-Bandai vpet that I've been keeping a casual eye out for ever since I first read about it on tamenagerie.
According to the manual (which I put under the Read More) you can choose between cat, crab, butterfly, fish, dinosaur, dog, chicken and... chick? (which I assume to just be a generic non-chicken bird; it looked a bit like a dove in the menu)
I picked the kitty because ofc I did.
The pet comes with 3 feeding options (main course, snack and drink), two games (guess left or right, thow a dice and guess if it'll be a low or a high number), singing and dancing.
The latter two aren't interactive, you just press the button and it plays a little melody (I recognized Bingo, Jingle Bells and Beethoven's 9th so far, but there are a few more). When you sing with it, it's a little musical note and a smiley face on the screen, and when you dance it's a pair of feet moving to the melody.
I fed my kitty, played, sung and danced with her and also already cleaned her litter box once, and now she's just keeping me company, silently bouncing around on the screen~
Her stats rn:
That's all there is in the stats menu.
The happiness and hungry meters only show up when you go to the feeding menu or open one of the games.
It's pretty low maintenance so far and the kitty cat is kinda cute, too, imo.
Only downside: Just like the Smart Chick the animations are limited. When feeding it or playing with it the pet will just look like a little smiley face or Marutchi.
But at least when it pooped it looked like a kitten sitting on the screen, waiting for me to clean up.
I won't be able to give it a full run rn bc I'm set to leave on a business trip tomorrow and next week is gonna be pretty stressful, too, but I'm looking forward to the next time I have the chance to explore it some more :3
(At some point I'd also like to have a 9-in-1 Gyaoppi, 10-in-1 Gyaoppi clone or 8-in-1 Octo-Pet.
Although my number one goal is still to get my hands on a Zappy Beamer like the one I had as a kid. I wish I knew where it ended up. Maybe I lost it on one of my many moves or it's in my mom's basement on the bottom of an old cardboard box :,D)
If anyone is curious why on Earth my Tumblr is now full of Tamagotchi asks and vpet stuff - I do runs and research on these as a hobby https://odditysoft.blogspot.com/
Not much time to post but I have tons of vpets logs behind me, and photos archived.
It's been ages since the last time that I played with a gyaoppi . . .#tamatag #tamagotchi #virtualpet #oddpet #gojirapper #gojirappervirtualpet #dino #dinosaur #dinosaurio #mascotavirtual #90s #90skid #90stoy #juguetesdelos90 https://www.instagram.com/p/CAoBz1xleuo/?igshid=1n06h1ei9i7py
Digimon fans have Digimail.... Tamagotchi fans have Tamamail... I have never heard the small smattering of Gigapet fans that I know refer to their mail hauls, but I assume Gigamail works, even if it sounds like some kinda OP JRPG armor...
What do Oddpet fans have? Dinky Mail?
Anyway... I got a haul today. I tested to see if they worked before celebrating, and yes, they all work just fine. I got these for a huge bargain at 8 bucks each. Not that they're the most sought after, but I rarely see them for a price I consider reasonable. And they did combined shipping.
Yuki Pengin is cut from the same cloth as Dinky Dino, so I already know I'm gonna love it. I wish I could have gotten a black shell, but I wasn't going to pass on the red one at this price. He's more christmas-y this way.
Gyaoppi and Chuppi are new to me, and obviously related. One is a dinosaur, the other is a bird, possibly a chicken or a parrot, but he looks like a generic bird to me. I may have actually had Gyaoppi as a child, it's very familiar to me, but i'm not 100 percent certain. It was confiscated from me at an early age and I was too worried my parents would be mad to tell them.
I know there's more pets related to Dinky Dino out there but they're not so easy to find and are very poorly categorized and undocumented... and there's also at least one more solo pet related to Gyaoppi and Chuppi I know of, a duck, but the more common shells are ugly, and I want the one that resembles the shells I already have. There's even more but they're multi-pet, and once again, are poorly documented... virtual pet community really should do something about the poor documentation of non bandai virtual pets. If only someone with more willpower and drive than me could do something about it.
Anyway, it may be some time before I run any of these. I am already running 3 pets. I'm always going to run at least one digimon, I'm on a Tamagotchi kick so I'm not putting that away and if I do, i'm replacing it with a Tamagotchi Uni... and I'm not putting away my Floppy Frog until it actually dies. I'm going for a record here. But i'll definitely talk more about them as I run them.
I got super lucky and found this lot about 5 minutes after it was posted and offers were accepted...the description says some of these don’t work but that’s okay, I’ve been wanting to teach myself how to work on small electronics and fix some of my old broken tamagotchis that I already have on hand anyway. There’s a few pets in this lot that I’ve had on my wishlist for years! Some pets included in this lot are:
Osutchi/Mesutchi Tamagotchi
Nekotcha
Pocket Love
Tako Seijin
Pocket Pikachu
Frogger
Gyaoppi clone
I can’t believe I got so many wishlist VPs in one lot💗❤️🧡💛💚💙💜this is why patience and vigilance pays off in the end! Just keep checking those online shops y’all...you never know what’s going to pop up👾🥚🛸
