Welcome to high school, the best or worst time of your life.
This group verse is inspired by 90s high school sitcoms such as Boy Meets World, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Saved by the Bell, Fresh Prince, okay you get the picture. It takes place in the fictional average-sized, average-American town of Marble Hills. Your muse is attending Marble Hills High, one of two schools in town. Go Wild Wolves!
Some fun facts about Marble Hills and Marble Hills High
Marble Hills is conveniently located about an hour away from the beach, two hours away from the snowy mountains, and can get any kind of weather. So somewhere in the North part of the East Coast.
The school’s colors are red and gold
Marble Hills High rival is the Clear Lake High, home of the Clear Lake Cougars. The school’s colors are blue and green
The most popular mall is Fairside Mall. It has Orange Julius, Hot Dog on a Stick, RadioShack, F.Y.E, Photo booths, Mrs. Fields, EB Games, KB Toys, and more.
There’s an old roller rink called Skateland that’s been newly renovated with our favorite 90s arcade carpet and features a Starcade!
Some teens congregate at Sal’s Slicery after school. The pizza joint has been open since their parents were in school.
There’s of course a Borders, Blockbuster, Chuck E Cheese, Toys R Us, 7-11, Barnes and Noble, Starbucks, TWO McDonalds, a Taco Bell, a Pizza Hut, and some of our other favorite chain stores
rules:
this is a lowkey 1990s american high school group verse. the idea of this verse is just to have interconnected stories. i will not be doing activity checks or dictating that you must write or follow someone. y'all do you.
any character can join whether they took place in a 90s american high school setting or not.
characters will be restricted between the ages of 14-18. muns are required to be over 18 to join.
characters may have supernatural powers, but keep in mind that this is a high school verse based on 90s sitcoms so don't go overboard. also if a mun does not want to interact with supernatural characters, that's their choice.
if you are a multi-muse please submit separate applications for each character you want to join.
in terms of fcs, if you have a duplicate talk to the person who is already on the list. it's up to them.
please be nice to each other and don't force each other to interact. i have to be a mother 24/7 i do not want to be your mother.
A discord server is available upon request.
i wrote out a lot of potential places, but if you want more feel free to create whatever and I can add it to the list.
if anyone who is not american needs school subject or high school information in general, feel free to reach out. or if you are a youngin who needs 90s information, also reach out. i was born in the early 90s and have older siblings who went to high school in the 90s, so i have some experience outside of TV sitcoms. (a helpful guide is here!)

@sparksofdaylight gets a plotted group verse starter
Everything was going perfectly, but even if it wasn’t, Jane would still be thrilled with the night. Dinner was a triumph, dishes were easily done, and Reggie was still here. Not that he ever missed a Christmas Eve with the Bennets and her mother’s family. She smiled from ear to ear, finding her spot in the crowded living room around the tree right next to Reggie, near her younger cousins, who couldn’t seem to leave him alone. It would be time to exchange gifts soon, and Jane had the perfect thing for Reggie. She had only been working on it for the last few months.
She just settled in when her father called to her, serious and stern. Never a good sign. The eldest Bennet daughter stood, smoothing out her red gingham skirt. Her father held the phone, and Jane held out her hand to take it from him, but he shook his head.
“It’s for Reggie, Janey.”
“Who is it?” Jane tilted her head to the side. Her father rubbed the bald spot on the top of his head, meaning it didn’t truly matter who it was. It was bad news.
“Mrs. Patterson.” Luke’s mom? Jane opened her mouth, but her father shook his head. “Take him to the kitchen. Stay with him, dear.” Her father motioned her off with a nod of his head. Jane crept through the crowd, tapping on Reggie’s shoulder.
“Dad says there’s a phone call for you. Come on, you can take it in the kitchen.” She offered him his hand, both to help him up and offer him some preventative comfort. Not that she could hazard a guess what bad news Mrs. Patterson brought. She silently prayed Luke was alright.

90s trend group verse starter open to group members
Luke barely felt the bitter cold or the snowflakes stinging his face. He only felt numb. Christmas Eve wasn’t supposed to go like this. He slipped precious quarters into the payphone, pink fingers pressing in the buttons to Alex’s phone. It rang and rang, and Luke hung up before the Mercer’s answering machine with its overly cheery message clicked on.
He hung up the phone and collected his quarters, making his way back to a snow-covered bench at the bus station. The ticket for New York was too much. The furthest he could make it with the $26 in his wallet would be South Jersey. Part of him regretted leaving with only his guitar, bike, and winter coat, especially in this weather, but he wouldn’t go back.
The things he said were unforgivable, and his mom would never apologize for what she said.
He blew into his hands before shoving them into his pocket. He couldn’t lose a finger. Losing a finger would mean losing his ability to play the guitar, and he needed to prove his mom wrong. He needed to prove that putting all his efforts into music wasn’t a mistake. He could do this.
With or without Sunset Curve. In or far away from Marble Hills.
