@alpal55 and I wrote an entire new version of Pacific Rim 2 and 3 because we are deranged and Newt and Hermann live rent free in our brains. Guillermo would have let them kiss I know he would.

absolutely adore that so many people are gushing about Del Toro's Pinocchio, such a good iteration of the story. Character design is PHENOMENAL btw, all of the humans look like humans but just fucked up enough to make the Pinocchio design fit right in

One thing I think we aren't talking about in regards to the Guillermo Del Toro Pinocchio movie
Is that the screenplay was written by Patrick McHale
This Patrick McHale
The director for Over The Garden Wall.
Just, y'know, in case you wanted another reason to absolutely go and see it.

Been enjoying this spoopy show today on a fine Sunday afternoon, and while the episodes tend to drag on a tad too much in their horror before getting to the point, I absolutely LOVE the actors in the show!!!
Especially in episode 3: The Autopsy. The actor playing the coroner has such a great range of emotions and facial expressions - it really adds to the immersion!
And while each episode features a different director, they all are just brimming with Del Toro vibes and I am LIVING for this!!!
Practical effects, SFX makeup... it is just so detailed and (pun intended) curious a show that I can't help but yip about it!
Oh, also: fucking Lovecraft aesthetics and horror like umm yes????

So I recently discovered that Benedict Cumberbatch and Guilermo Del Toro are good friends IRL, and Del Toro has always wanted to work with Ben.
I think that, should it ever happen there are two projects I’d love for them to work on;
- The next Doctor Strange film because...well, I mean, come on! Del Toro is the perfect choice (that isn’t Neil Gaiman) to either writer or direct a DS film.
or
- Del Toro getting a chance to bring his adaptation of At The Mountains of Madness with Ben in the lead or in a supporting role.
And while I (obviously) lean more towards the former, I’d also like to see the latter get made. Del Toro’s wanted to make that films for years, and it’d be fun seeing how Ben would handle playing a character that’s exposed to Lovecraftian horrors.
