Prince Rosen of Worcester and his fiancé, Lady Sophie Augustine

Prince Rosen Aleksander of Worcester (10 January 17xx – 16 November 18xx) was the only child of the ill-suited couple Crown Prince Andreas, Duke of Worcester (later Aleksander II), and Princess Francesca de Beaufort. He was expected to ascend the Monacan throne after the deaths of his grandfather, Aleksander I, and his father, but died after being thrown from his horse at the age of 23, predeceasing them both.

The death of Monaca's Golden Prince shook the country and brought the crown to it's knees. Rosen had been Aleksander I's only legitimate grandchild despite having five sons - prompting the Grimalldi royal family's very first succession crisis.

i never really understood leaking info about money from the grimalldi family to be such a huge "scandal" considering monaco has been known as a corrupted tax haven with dirty money strategies for ages its kinda one thing theyre relevant from so "scandal" would mostly be relationship or personal acts stuff

Yes and no, I'd say. Claude's primary leaked stories - which essentially amount to "rich people spend money" and "families don't always get on" - are not going to be the thing that ends the Monegasque princely family. You can read more about that here. I also don't think the relationship or personal stuff will do much damage because Stephanie once ran away to the circus to live in a trailer with an acrobat she fell in love with and that was fine lol.

However, I talked about something else in our podcast if you want more detail (here). A cornerstone ambition of Albert's reign has been to change Monaco's image as a hub of financial crime. After much work, in 2017 Monaco was officially removed from the grey list of non-cooperative tax havens by the Council of the European Union. Fast forward and you have the head of the Supreme Court and several of Albert's closest associates accused of personal involvement in money laundering and corruption, and you have the less publicised accusations around impropriety in the awarding of public contracts to members of the Casiraghi family, and that's not a great picture. While some of the institutions which monitor tax regimes are fairly toothless, there can be real political and economic consequences (e.g. there is evidence that suggests there is less foreign investment in countries on the black or grey list) and Monaco had been looking at EU membership which would involve scrutiny of things like this. Plus there's Monaco's incredibly complex relationship with France to consider. France is part of the EU and beholden to all the financial laws that entails, but it also has significant power in Monaco and so it can exert extreme pressure on Albert if it doesn't feel he's taking financial crimes seriously. Remember that in 1962 France closed the border with Monaco because they couldn't agree on tax arrangements!

Just because Monaco has historically been associated with financial crimes doesn't mean that that is a desirable position or something they want to maintain. So the current accusations aren't the worst thing ever, I agree, but don't discount the impact that corruption allegations could have on Albert.

IMO, I think Amelia’s response was kind of light. She could have done worse but didn’t. It was a girlboss move! 🤧 Just the right amount of shade but also reasonable. IRL Royals have done even worse petty shady behavior so equating Amelia to a petty insecure child seems far fetched! Lightly snubbing a so-called “ally” may not be the best diplomacy, but it is realistic❗️

Good diplomacy is rather NOT starting a war because someone cancelled a wedding reservation! IMO that would be pettier than anything else! And is real bad diplomacy. 🙅🏼‍♀️ Historically, no (sim!) wars in this universe have happened because of a cancelled reservation and hurt feelings! We should all wait to see what comes next and not over speculate yet 😁

The Funeral of King Reginald - Part 1

The funeral procession for His Majesty King Reginald has begun on the streets of Old Alnwick, a historic district in the capital city. The King’s coffin, carried in a horse-drawn carriage and accompanied by members of the King’s Guard, departed from the Royal Rotunda at Alnwick Palace’s Royal Chapel this morning, heading for St. George’s Cathedral. 

The royal family followed tradition in walking behind the carriage carrying the late King’s body. King Thomas III lead the group, followed closely by his wife, Queen Alexandra, and mother, Queen Jacqueline. Also walking in the procession were King Thomas’ children, Crown Prince Arthur, Princess Victoria the Princess Royal and Prince Henry, and his siblings and their wives, The Duke and Duchess of Clifton and the Marquess and Marchioness of Sudeley. Both Princess Sophie of Clifton and Princess Cressida of Sudeley were scheduled to walk with them as well, but royal insiders shared that Princess Cressida was too emotional to walk, and her cousin Princess Sophie elected to stay back and accompany her to the Cathedral via car instead. 

The Winchesterian royals were also joined by their dear friends Queen Morana of Monaca and the Duke and Duchess of Worcester. Princess Mignonette of Worcester also joined the procession, and walked alongside Prince Henry and Princess Victoria, to whom she is reportedly very close. Royal followers will recall that King Reginald, Queen Jacqueline, King Thomas, Queen Alexandra and Prince Arthur walked with the Grimalldi family in the funeral procession of the late King Maximilian.

Hello! So It's a large pearl with diamonds on the sides. It's not a traditional Grimalldi engagement ring - because it belonged to Gabriel's late grandmother who he was close to as a child. Out of all of her grandchildren, she left the ring to him in her will ❤
