Cancer does NOT discriminate! It hits the young and the mature! The most healthy and the not so healthy! Getting Brandon’s Leukemia diagnosis at the age of 7 after just losing Brianna 4 short years earlier was a gut wrenching. I was devastated and in complete shock just hearing the word Cancer! We are coming up on 7 years in a few weeks and 2 year June 10th in Treatment Free Remission. He’s overcome so much over the past few years. His journey has had highs and lows but he’s always kept a smile on his face accept the few times his fever was high and we had to head to St. Mary’s for a few days. Dr. Eric has been a blessing and we are so grateful for him the entire medical team. We have made lots of friends and Brianna opened new opportunities for us to help families that had also received a cancer diagnosis! You may ask how do we help?? Well~ We have sent care packages to the child/family with some of their specific needs and something they will enjoy, we have helped with travel expenses, food, assist in bills and sadly we have assisted in cases for funeral expenses😔! Of course my hope is a cure is found soon! Children should enjoy all that life has to offer not sit in hospitals going through chemotherapy! That’s just a small part of what BCHSF does. We truly appreciate our community support! Brianna had a BIG heart and loved her friends I know this is what she wants us to do. September is bittersweet! September 29th will mark 11 years of missing our beautiful Brianna! I can’t be more proud of the amazing things Heavenly Smiles has done in her name. It’s also Childhood Cancer Awareness Month 💛🎗💛! Since Brandon was diagnosed with CML leukemia in June 2014! Since his diagnosis we have been helping families that have had a child diagnosed with cancer. Our amazing community and supporters make it all possible! We have made care packages for the child and families. It includes gas cards, food cards, BriGear, snacks, special goodies and much more! We also have given numerous graduating Seniors college scholarships to further their education. I can’t tell you how happy it makes me feel when they reach out and share their successes! Sadly there have been times when we have had to assist with funeral expenses as well. When I sit back and look at the GreatThings BCHSF has done it brings me so much joy! As we prepare to celebrate Brianna in a few weeks we Thank you ALL for the love and support you have shown over the past 10 years! I see some pretty amazing things coming! Gods plan is bigger than what I could ever imagine and I am ready to walk along side him to make it happen! Huge shout out to @boundlessgym for their continued support!! Earlier in the year they hosted the Brianna Cooper Invitational and the gifts for the girl were these absolutely beautiful Brianna Leo’s. They recently had a gymnastics camp and the girls that participated had an Olympian gymnast sign them. Brianna loved gymnastics and she loved kids.
