I am feeling beyond blessed and grateful at how amazing this weekend was our Wings of Hope Gala was beautiful, Brandon and Brylie were baptized @gocoastallife I love how they are growing their relationship with Jesus! September is bittersweet! September 29th will mark 11 years of missing our beautiful Brianna! I can’t be more proud of the amazing things Heavenly Smiles has done in her name. It’s also Childhood Cancer Awareness Month 💛🎗💛! Since Brandon was diagnosed with CML leukemia in June 2014! Since his diagnosis we have been helping families that have had a child diagnosed with cancer. Our amazing community and supporters make it all possible! We have made care packages for the child and families. It includes gas cards, food cards, BriGear, snacks, special goodies and much more! We also have given numerous graduating Seniors college scholarships to further their education. I can’t tell you how happy it makes me feel when they reach out and share their successes! Sadly there have been times when we have had to assist with funeral expenses as well. When I sit back and look at the GreatThings BCHSF has done it brings me so much joy! As we prepare to celebrate Brianna in a few weeks we Thank you ALL for the love and support you have shown over the past 10 years! I see some pretty amazing things coming! Gods plan is bigger than what I could ever imagine and I am ready to walk along side him to make it happen! Diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease in high school was so hard. Honestly being diagnosed at any age would be hard! Try telling a 15 yr old not to “stress” all is ok take this medication it will make you better. Then have it transform you into someone you don’t even recognize. Not even some of my friends recognized me when I came back to school! I finally over the years managed to get my Crohn’s under control for a good long time. Finally I found ME!! Got married had 4 beautiful healthy children! Of course life struggles juggling work, kids and life - who doesn’t have them? The struggle is real….. then we lost Brianna in 2010 she was our first born. Talk about trying to keep my health in check! No way my daughter was gone how do I move on? It’s a pain that never goes away we just learn to cope better than the day before. Then you hear words no parent wants to hear your child has leukemia. Yep that brought to my knees and had its own worries! He’s over 2 years cancer free I PRAISE God every day. Now we have a constant worry with Covid. 18 months of a “new normal” my head is spinning! I worry about how this is affecting my health and the long term affects on all of our kids. Yes I worry about not only my family but everyone! That is a lot of weight I am trying to carry! So After seeing this come up in my pictures I decided I need my strongest thoughts to be only good thoughts! God breathed and focus on my strength and HIS GOODNESS!! This is a challenging time for ALL of us! Our children need us more than ever. This is a mental health check for all my amazing family and friends.
