have you tried checking a comedian's profile on british comedy guide? they're not totally conclusive the way imdb can be for movies/tv, but for a big radio panel show like just a minute, their episodes should be there. here's paul merton's profile, for example, and if you scroll down it shows you all of his appearances in chronological order :)

alternatively, you can look at the profiles for any series you like on BCG and browse the lineups, like just a minute here :)

lmk if that's not helpful for any reason and we'll try to find another resource!

it's really overwhelming!! 😅 it's hard to make a recommendation when i'm not sure what kind of comedy you prefer, but a few umbrella faves that people of all tastes seem love so much include greg davies - firing cheeseballs at a dog, bill bailey - part troll, and james acaster - repertoire. personally, i think alasdair beckett-king, larry dean, and fern brady are amazing up-and-comers (for lack of a better word; you know, the youths~), simon amstell's standup is so touching and engaging and uniquely and hilariously introspective and so nostalgic to me, and i also think it's worth checking out the 2010 stephen fry special because that man is, of course, a national treasure. if you give some of these things a watch, come back w your opinionz, and even lmk if you have a better idea of what kind of comedy you like if you'd like recommendations round 2!

It was not deliberate, no. I’d generally regard Doctor Who as an exceptionally poor fit for Gone to Hell owing to the show’s companion-centric dynamic being severely at odds with the game’s lone-hero-against-the-apocalypse premise, but I’m not going to stop anyone who wants to try!

Why do RPGs have items that need to be identified? That mechanic must have a purpose other than wasting time porting back to town, right?

I always thought of it as a way to stop you from just getting more powerful stuff in the field so that you have to return, reequip, go back out, and potentially fight your way through stuff all over again. Depends on the game, I guess.

lowkey tmi but i actually work for a film & tv distribution company that primarily delivers to roku and prime, and there are A LOT of negotiations that go into thumbnails that are provided by licensors / can be legally used in general. sometimes, after release but before the sale of additional distribution, talent will negotiate to have their images removed from this kind of art / promo / marketing material — usually to quietly distance themselves from projects. other times, distributors won’t be allowed to use screenshots or images of famous guest stars in a series’ episode thumbnails because the licensor is really serious about protecting the branding with the main stars. occasionally the person in the original promotional work will be hella cancelled and you need to find a workaround for the art, come to a new agreement as to what it should be and who should make it (the licensor or the distribution company, if they have an art department) — which can very awkward and difficult if licensors and distributors can’t come to a compromise. it's genuinely a whole part of forging a distribution contract! i have so many great examples but probably shouldn't be airing my company's contract negotiations out on tumblr X_X

as for s4... ughhhh 😭 all of the comedy central uk series are unnecessarily hard to find — i'm on the high seas, reddit, discord, everywhere clicking around — and series 4 of guessable and richard hammond's brain reaction have been absolute busts. i did message a few people recently, so hopefully someone can follow through. in the meantime, you can stream s1–4 here!

I've been looking for years for a game like Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King. It only came out as a Wii shop game on the original Wii. I loved the mild town building, managing the adventurers, and chatting with the townsfolk. Do you have any recommendations for something similar?

Mm. Tough to say – most town-building/town-management fantasy life sims you’re going to run into these days are predatory pay-to-win mobile games, at least if you prefer to play in English. and I’m not going to rec those for obvious reasons. The only real alternatives that spring to mind are town-builder/farming sim hybrids like My Time At Portia or the forthcoming Re:Legend – which isn’t totally surprising, since Western developers seem to treat life sims as a subgenre of farming sims, rather than vice versa – but those don’t have the adventurer management element you’re looking for.

(Well, I suppose there’s The Sims Medieval, if you’re willing to piss around with Origin and tolerate EA’s nonexistent technical support for older titles. This isn’t a recommendation so much as an acknowledgement!)

@greatlyamused This is another thing that kind of gets me going re: TES lore - we know there are tons of realms in Aetherius, but we only know of 4 for sure! Sovngarde is one of them, and the other three are The Far Shores, which is the Redguard afterlife; The Sands Beyond the Stars, which is the Khajiiti afterlife; and the Matellan Crux, a prison dedicated to the Matella, or the Heart of Wulfharth (obtaining it is the final objective in Daggerfall.) I wanna know more!
