basically 's what it says on the tin- all the scrybes in inscryption are cryptids, living in the woods trying t' avoid people to the best of their abilities! leshy is a tree-man who claims he can teleport between all the forests of the world, grimora is a deceased former-human who now spends her time in an abandoned crypt, P03 is a computer bot who was dropped in the woods non-working and now somehow functions perfectly (and floats) with no battery, and magnificus is a shape-shifting pile of Whatever they want to be

they're all pretty much jus vibin in a section of free-access gov land that pretty much No one goes to due to GreatFinds interference- they have the area as locked down as they can make it given the land isnt theirs. they (rightly) believe the land has some sort of magical properties to it that allow the cryptids to exist, hence why they dont want anyone else on it while they try to buy the land. amanda is one of their goons, who spends most of her worktime guarding the area

luke is a bigfoot hunter who stumbled onto the place while clearing out his former coworker's stuff. little does he know that kaycee's notes lead right to the place where she met her own fate... not that he cares, leshy says he knows where every animal on the earth is, and luke wants to know where bigfoot is Very Badly

this ofc should get him killed very dead- not only do half the scryptids want to kill him, it's literally amanda's job to do so- but luke is apparently very bad at dying. doesnt help that amanda's professional attempts are being foiled at every turn by scryptids who either a) like luke or b) want to kill him themselves (or c- a fun mix of both)
