I just had a meeting with my thesis advisor who was my last choice to have as a thesis advisor. And we basically had to introduce ourselves and say what we wanted to do and then he also just explained some more about the process.

It left me so disheartened and I felt so stupid and like I just didn’t understand a thing about anything so after the meeting I just went to the restroom and started crying

And this is so stupid but I posted on my Instagram best friend story that it didn’t go well and I was crying in the restroom of my uni and three of them saw it and none of them like even sent me a message sending me love or hugs or anything.

I just feel so alone and undesirable and stupid and a failure. Just like, is this what life is about? I don’t wanna have this for the next 50 plus years

advice i think we should tell children is that when adults say stuff like ‘now that i’m an adult i get really excited about stuff like coffee tables and bathrooms and rugs etc’ they don’t mean ‘and now i don’t care about blorbo and squimbus from my childhood tv shows anymore’ bc your average adult still loves all the same pop culture stuff they always did; they just have a greater appreciation for the mundane as well. growing up just means you can enjoy life twice as much now. you can get really excited about a new stuffed animal AND about a new kitchen sponge. peace and love
