tagged by @itiswritteninthestarsabove to name 4 albums living rent-free in my head recently:
The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals Cast Recording - Team StarKid: such bangers. I didn't even know horror comedy was a genre until u watched this musical. Highly recommend this musical for everyone because it reminds you to ALWAYS think of the implications.
Citizen Steely Dan 1972-1980: Might be cheap, but this is my way of avoiding picking one Steely Dan album because they all live in my head rent-free. IMO, you can't ever go wrong with Steely Dan.
The Seeds Of Love - Tears For Fears: One of my favorite albums all-time ever. I have it on vinyl and CD, and is the album I listen to the most. Currently have the song 'Rhythm Of Life - Demo' on loop on Spotify, which is currently my favorite song and is a real vibe at all times, but especially 3AM.
Elemental - Tears For Fears: Fantastic album. It's 30th anniversary release is today. Essentially a solo album by Roland Orzabal, it let him put more of a personal spin on the TFF sound (The TFF sound is at its best when both Roland and Curt are involved). Standout tracks are 'Fish Out Of Water' (you're dreaming your life away.......) and 'Goodnight Song.
There's my albums! Tagging anyone who wants to participate because these are really fun and I enjoy democracy :)

30 years, wow! I remember a period of time when I couldn’t walk across campus at my college without hearing “Cannonball” blasting through a door or window. Good times.

So this was a wonderful surprise even to me, but Luis just uploaded a whole lo-fi mix of the entire Mystery Skulls Forever album! If you liked the Ghost remix then I think you're gonna love this one too.
Each song is also uploaded separately on his youtube page along with a 2 hour version. Go get yourself some good vibes!

realised yesterday just how often hozier actually used to sing about being not quite alive, not feeling like a person, about loving someone in a way that defies death and made him more alive, about suffering death for love. it's like he was constantly being buried underground and unearthed by love, over and over, which, while romantic in a way, is also incredibly sad. but i think it's interesting how his latest album (literally called 'unreal unearth') takes this idea and makes it its central theme. that's what this album is, one man's descent into the underworld. except, crucially, he makes it to the other side, and ends the album saying the darkness will come again, but this time he is "never going back [to hell] again." it feels like such a full-circle moment considering the rest of his discography and i'm so very excited to see what comes after this
