Spinel and Pink Pearl trying to watch a movie together but they just end up falling asleep while cuddling.
[@chuck-the-cheese-family @kyoryu | Got a little carried away with the possibilites on this prompt. Lowkey inspired by the song 'Recess' :P]
Stressing
Word count: 1000+
Themes: Fluff, Hurt/Comfort. Chuck E Cheese AU
I'm actually proud of this? Wow
(Things in italic are Spinel's thoughts)
...
Spinel goes to the back room, finally taking off that stupid rat head she had to wear. She slowly unzips the rest of the rat costume, putting it away and finally leaving the Chuck E Cheese building
Spinel checks her phone. "Missing call from... oh, fuck" She thought as she looked the notifications
[Missed call from: Peeps 💟💟
Me [Spinel]: Hey, doll, sorry about that. Forgot my cellphone exists for a sec
Peeps 💟💟: It's okay, just wanted to check on you. Are you okay?
Me: Yeah, wdym checking on me?
Peeps 💟💟: You seemed kinda upset today... Just wanted to make sure you're fine
Me: I look like that everyday. Really, Peeps, I am fine. Just got outta work. I'm tired
Peeps 💟💟: Oh... You just seemed so stressed today...
Me: I just need to rest, Peeps
Peeps 💟💟: Would you... Like to come over anyway? You could, you know, stay the night? If you wanna to of course
Me: Wait, what about Bloop and Yelp? Y'know, randomly inviting me over isn't the best thing to do. Also, I get too lost between all of you
Peeps 💟💟: They won't be here tonight. They planned a date and will stay in a motel or smth
Peeps 💟💟: Thought they would talk about it in work? They didn't shut up abt that here lol
Peeps 💟💟: So, are you coming?
Me: ...
Me: I'll be there in an hour]
The Chuck E Cheese employee wasn't having one of her best days. She wasn't reeeally in the mood to go anywhere else but her house, but she also couldn't say no to her lovely girlfriend. "That girl must have a spell on me. Her apartment is much more comfortable thoughm. Maybe it won't be that bad"
Spinel starts walking her way to Peeps' house, losing herself in her thoughts during the process. "I really, really hate this fucking job. Yet, I should be greatful for it. Who else would hire me, after all? I really am a clown, at least I'm good at it." She thought, refusing to let the small tears on the corner of her eyes fall
An hour or so later, she's finally there. Taking a deep breath, she knocks the front door a few times before Peeps opened it. "Hey, Doll~" She smiled a bit, for the first time that day
"Hey, dear." She greeted her girlfriend with a kiss on the top of her head, making her blush a bit. "I'm kinda busy right now. Made some plans for tonight, if you don't mind." Peeps continued, grabbing some recently washed sheets. "Would you take a shower while I finish everything? You taste and smell like cheese right now." She giggled. "You left some clothes here last time you stayed, but you can wear one of my pajamas, I don't mind."
"Yeah, sure... Sound great." Spinel agreed as her girlfriend (finally) stopped talking. She went to Peeps' room to get some clothes, so she could change in the bathroom. She grabs the first pajama she finds - a rose shirt with pink shorts. "Better than nothing..."
Peeps hears Spinel closing the bathroom door behind her. The house went silent, the shower sound being the only noise. Around five, ten minutes later, the shower stops, and a little bit after that, the silence breaks. "Peeeeeeps, can I borrow some of your eyeliner?" Spinel yells from the bathroom
"Spinel, isn't it too late to put on any makeup?"
"Nah, I usually sleep wearing it."
"... Go ahead then"
A couple of minutes pass and Spinel finally leaves the bathroom and goes to the kitchen. She was wearing her girlfriend's clothes, slippers and less makeup than usual. Her pigtails were also gone. She looked kinda tired, but less stressed than earlier. She caught Peeps staring at her, blushing and smiling. "Heh, see something ya like~?"
"Ah! I just- you look... nice..." She blushed harder, walking towards the table, that had two plates, two soda cups and a pizza box. "Ordered some pizza... Hope it doesn't sound... inappropriate for the situation..." Peeps said, as she realised Spinel works at a Chuck E Cheese
"Heh... You really like to spoil me, don'tcha?" She tried to giggle the awkward conversation off, taking a seat. Peeps giggles along. Again, silence...
"So... These were your plans for tonight?" Spinel asks. "Not that I'm complaining of course!" She quickly corrected herself
"One of my plans, actually." Peeps said, before taking another bite of her pizza. "I have something else planned, as you're going to stay the night." She smiled
"Mind tellin' me what it is?"
"Wait and see, sugar." Peeps teased
After their finish eating, Peeps puts the dirt dishes in the sink. "Hey, lemme wash these. You already did too much for me. I insist"
"Oh, no, no, no. You really don't need to! Go to my room, wait me there."
"You sure? You did so much today, I just--"
"No, really, just wait me there!" Peeps reassured, turning the handle and opening the faucet, as Spinel shrugged and did as she said
Sitting on the corner of Peeps' bed, Spinel looked around. The place was really organized. There was some of Bloop's and Yelp's things on the floor though. "Heh, look, she also has some weird collections. Nice."
Not too much later, Peeps goes to the room, holding a bowl. "Since we both have work tomorrow and can't do much since we have to sleep early, I thought we could watch some movies together until we fall asleep. I got some snacks too. What'cha say?"
"Sounds perfect." Spinel responds, not even looking to her girlfriend (nor actually paying attention)
"Hey, you there? Earth to Spinel, are you there??"
"Oh? Yeah, yeah." She turns her body to Peeps, breaking her thoughts. "Sorry, what were you saying?"
"Movies, snacks, what do you think?"
"Sure, sure, why not? Uh... Do you have a matress or something for me to lay or--"
"Uhh, yeah, haha, about that... I was thinking we could... You know... Lay down together and... Maybe cuddle or something?" You could easily tell she was nervous. "I meAN IF YOU WANT TO OF COURSE"
Spinel stopped working for a second. She started blushing harder and harder at this thought. This was certainly not something she was expecting... Okay, okay, maybe she was expecting, but still, she was NOT ready. "I-I... Well... If you insist- I mean, you didn't insist, but yeah... If you, want to, you know..."
Peeps giggled at her girlfriend's reaction, even though she was just as nervous as her. She puts the bowl on the side of the bed, laying down carefully. "Come here!"
Slowly, Spinel gets closer to Peeps. "Okay, Spinel, DON'T blow it. You've never been this close to someone. Don't ruin i-" Her thoughts got interrupted by her girlfriend, who gently picked her up and put Spinel on her lap, placing her head on her chest. Spinel froze
With one hand, Peeps hugs Spinel. With her free hand, she turns the tv on. Knowing Spinel wasn't that picky, she choses the first movie she sees on Netflix
Spinel was honestly more focused on her girlfriend's delicated touchs than the movie. With one hand, Peeps was running her fingers through Spinel's hair (and sometimes behind her ear and neck, to get that silly giggle and smile she loves), with the other, she was rubbing her back. It didn't take too long for Peeps to notice tears falling on her gown. She didn't want to talk about that, and just waited until Spinel actually wanted to talk
"... Peeps?" Spinel mumbled, getting her girlfriend to look at her, as she changes her position to look up. "Thanks... A lot. You didn't have to do all that, really. I don't deserve you sometimes... Thanks." She said, more tears falling from her eyes. She started sniffling and wiping her cheeks, until Peeps cups her face, kissing her
"It's just... You seemed so tired today. Like, way more tired than the usual. And I know you hate your job already, and you know I hate seeing you like that." She kissed the top of Spinel's head
Smiling and blushing, she fixes her position once again, resting her head on Peeps' chest, listening to her heartbeat. "Love you." She muttered, between her breath, slowly drifting off to sleep
"Love you, too." She smiled, closing her eyes, not even bothering about turning off the tv
The rest of the night was quiet and calm,
... This until Bloop and Yelp came back from their failed date, and caught them
Long story short, they won't hear the end of this so soon
...
Wow my first time (well, third if a couple of unfinished drabbles count) writing these characters. Don't think it's that bad tbh? I'm actually proud of it! :o

Schedule Changes (PENTAGON: Adachi Yuto)
Tumblr media
HELLO, IT’S 12:48AM AND I COULDN’T HELP MYSELF.
I had to churn this out because it won’t leave my head. I’d like to thank my irl friend @shiiiiiiiiinwun for inspiring me to write this collection (yes, I’m gonna be doing one for all of ot9). And for someone who’s been watching anime since she figured out how to use the internet, you’d think I could’ve come up with better names, and faster.
EDIT (06/29/20): Hi! it’s my first time making an edit like this, so i’m kinda insecure abt it lol, i hope it’s okay. this is the 2nd yuto version i did, so it’s slightly better than the first one. tumblr rlly doesn’t want us to go overboard on image size huh
WARNINGS: n/a; some angst, maybe? who’s proofreading idk her. WORD COUNT: 3,314 it’s so fucking long.
---
Minister Sakaguchi,
Unfortunately, Her Majesty will not be available for your meeting today at 3PM; urgent matters have arisen that need her immediate attention. If you would like to reschedule with her, please reply to this email.
Thank you very much for understanding.
Regards,
Y/N L/N
Secretary to the Queen
You sigh, wondering if the email you’ve typed is in the appropriate tone that won’t offend Minister Sakaguchi; in all the years you’ve been working for the royal family it doesn’t get easier writing and replying to the emails of government officials, invitations to interview Her Majesty for magazine features, requests to attend public functions like galas and balls. The ridiculous amount of mail she gets, that are automatically forwarded to you, is mind-boggling, in anyone else’s eyes. It doesn’t surprise you anymore, though.
The queen as a monarch takes the backseat to running the kingdom, to any foreigner that decides to take a look at articles from international news sources. Her name isn’t mentioned as much as the king’s when it comes to referencing big developments in the state. Rather, the local newspapers and online sites have her name and face on some article at least once a week. The queen takes care of the little things, smaller projects that delve more into social welfare than her husband’s institutional programs. She is a strong advocate for women’s and children’s rights, as well as a figure in health outreach programs for the poorer sectors of society. Her compassion and dedication to her job is what made you want to work for her; she was like a role model to you, along with her husband.
It was a stroke of pure luck that got you this job; your first day as the secretary for Minister Yamazaki turned into you being his substitute with only a day’s notice. He had gotten sick with the flu and you were immediately thrust into a role you knew almost nothing about. So you took all the files related to the subject of the meeting and studied up on them the night before, turning up the next day and pulling out opinions as if you yourself spearheaded the project. The queen, upon finding out that you were new, was so impressed and had talked to Minister Yamazaki (who was still in his sickbed) over the phone about enlisting you under her employ.
It’s been five years since then. Five fast-paced, fulfilling, exciting years working closely with the royal family. At this point, your relationship with the queen is more of a friendship than strictly professional, and you’re grateful for it. The people you interact with on a daily basis are mostly considerably older than you--ministers, program leaders, the palace staff--and the talk is all business. So you’re grateful for your weekend teatime with the queen, sometimes with her children joining you, who are some of the only people your age you talk to on a regular basis, apart from the younger maids and kitchen staff. The afternoons out in the garden are the queen’s time to unwind and review everything that happened the previous week, as well as scheduling the succeeding weeks. The stress of planning therefore comes to a head on Saturdays so the week can sail by calmly.
Today is one of those Saturdays. Minister Sakaguchi had scheduled a dinner meeting with the queen yesterday--something about the upcoming fair for disenfranchised women, although you suspect Minister Sakiguchi will try to sneak in pitches for other programs she has in mind. The queen had agreed, so you penciled in the meeting into your schedule. However, the queen seemed under the weather when she came out earlier, that you had advised her to cancel it, assuring her that Minister Sakiguchi would understand.
The queen takes a sip of her favorite rosehip and lemon tea, fingers delicate on the porcelain, and you send the email, huffing out a sigh. You place your phone facedown on the glass table and take a sugar cookie from the plate. “Just sent the email, Your Majesty,” you say. “Now you can just focus on resting tonight.” You smile as you take a bite.
Your boss smiles as she replaces the teacup on its saucer. “Thank you,” she says, relaxing against the lounge chair. “To be honest, I didn’t think Minister Sakiguchi would talk so much about the fair anyway. She probably suggested a meeting to tell me more of her ideas for the women’s sector.” You smile. Bingo. “Is anything else scheduled for tomorrow?”
You glance at your open laptop, as well as the printed-out spreadsheet on your lap. It’s an organized mess of colors and times and places and people. “Just the charity gala tomorrow night. I’ve coordinated with Subaru and she said the king will be late by an hour. Will you go alone?”
She tilts her head in thought and hums. “I don’t want to be late. Is there anyone available?”
You click through the several pinned tabs on your laptop to the tab for the royal family’s shared schedule. “It seems Princess Akari is free, as well as Prince Yuto,” you say after a moment.
“Ah, Akari will be busy designing something for the fair, I think, so maybe she won’t want to go,” the queen muses.
“So you’ll just take the prince, then? I’ll contact Daiki and ask him to notify the prince.”
“No need,” a deep, disembodied voice comes in from somewhere in the hedges before Prince Yuto pops his head into view. He walks towards the table as you clear up a space for him, closing your binder and putting that on top of the clipboard among other printouts on one of the spare chairs between you and the queen.
The prince strides across the grass in his black dress pants and long-sleeved shirt, to greet his mother. He places his hands softly on her shoulders and leans down to give her a kiss on the cheek. The queen smiles and accepts the kiss, patting a hand over one of his; her mood instantly lifts, and her posture relaxes further. As the youngest son, she dotes on him a lot; he in turn always keeps his mother company and can rarely be seen in public not by her side or his father’s. You think their relationship is sweet, and so do the many news articles posted online about it.
Prince Yuto takes a seat on the only empty chair and fixes himself a cup of tea while saying, “What’s the gala for?”
“The orphanages in the farther provinces,” the queen says as she takes a saucer and stacks it high with dark chocolate-coated cookies, pushing the small plate at her son’s direction. “Some dignitaries from other kingdoms as well as celebrities will be attending. And I will announce the new scholarship program for our state schools. There’s a chance your father won’t make it, so I’d like a companion.”
“Of course I’ll go with you, Mother,” Prince Yuto says after swallowing a bite of cookie. He turns to you. “What time is it?”
“Call time for the royals and major government officials is 7PM, and the program starts at 7:30. I’ll contact Daiki with the details as well,” you say.
The prince shakes his head, but there’s a smile on his face as he turns to the queen. “It’s such a shame, I thought you two were talking about Y/N transferring to my office,” he jokes. It’s a bit that he’s brought up many times before, and both you and the queen take it as a joke since you figure he just wants someone closer to his age with more experience than Daiki, who is about four years older and has only been working with him for two years.
The queen lets out a laugh and takes her teacup again. “What’s the matter with Daiki? He seems to be doing a good job.” Her eyes meet yours as she takes another sip, glinting in amusement.
Prince Yuto is smiling his bright, beautiful smile that the camera loves as he looks fondly at his mother. He probably got wind of her feeling run-down and hurried here to try to distract her. You know the queen is the most important person to him, and the queen may not know it, but it’s obvious to everyone else. “Well, as you know, Y/N is better,” he continues, “and Daiki-san is a stick-in-the-mud.” The teasing makes you huff out a laugh, immediately raising a hand to cover your mouth; Daiki is truly a stick-in-the-mud, even more than you are.
The queen laughs boisterously, throwing her head back. “Oh, you’re such a jokester, Yuto.” She sighs, fully relieved, and you’re thankful he decided to stop by. The queen finishes her tea and says, “Well, this was a fun teatime. I have some paperwork I have to sign, so Y/N, you may go.” She turns to her son. “It’s so nice of you to stop by, sweetheart,” she says, and leans down to drop a kiss on the crown of his head. “I’ll be seeing you both.” The queen glides away, and you briefly wonder how she can walk that gracefully in heels over damp, unpaved grass--but then you remember she’s the queen and has been doing this for years. She turns around the corner of the hedge and disappears.
You sigh and shut down your laptop, gathering your stuff as you message Daiki about the charity gala. You slide the laptop in your bag, and put all the printouts in order into a folder, before slipping everything else inside. You’re just about to get up to leave before Prince Yuto’s voice stops you.
“You sure you won’t consider transferring to my office?” you hear the prince suddenly ask. He’s looking at you, piercing eyes that make everyone in the kingdom, young and old, swoon. And if you didn’t talk to him everyday and your self-control had been any less, you would probably give in to whatever he wanted.
So you try to mask your rapidly beating heart behind a fond, teasing smile. “Well, I don’t really have a say in it. Don’t think the queen wants to let me go, anyway,” you say, taking a proffered dark chocolate-covered cookie from the prince and biting into it. The rich, slightly bitter punch of the chocolate explodes on your tongue.
The prince looks at you with a small smile. “I was serious, you know,” he says simply. “I mean, you won’t be as busy so you’ll have more free time, and the stuff I do is just small, as a minister for cultural arts. I split it with another person.”
You’re already shaking your head. “I like my job. I love working for the queen and seeing the results of what she’s done. You know she’s been my role model since I was a teenager, so this is a dream for me. And as much as I want a break sometimes, I can’t let this opportunity go.” You sigh, heart heavy now, and stand. “I’m sorry, Your Highness.”
He stands with you. “I know I’ve told you to call me just ‘Yuto’ before, didn’t I?”
“But decorum--,”
“Yeah, fine, practice etiquette in public, but when we’re alone you can just call me by my name.” You don’t answer, and hesitantly purse your lips. And then the prince begins to pout. “Come on, if you don’t wanna work for me, at least call me Yuto.” He presses the tips of his index fingers together and says, “I miss you,” so cutely, with his big puppy dog eyes and hilariously deep voice that’s sorely out of place for the cutesy thing he’s trying to do.
You have to laugh, bending down at the waist and steadying yourself with the table as you cackle. “Fine, fine,” you relent. “I’ll call you Yuto in private from now on.” You heave your heavy bag up onto your shoulder with a smile. “I’ll see you tomorrow, then.”
***
“You look beautiful tonight,” someone says behind you. You turn carefully, eyes meeting Yuto, in another black ensemble: turtleneck under an overcoat with black dress pants and boots. His hair is slicked back artfully, apart from the stray locks of hair that insist on falling over his eyes. Simple, but very handsome; the paparazzi and journalists must be having a field day with that outfit.
And you look down at yourself: standard black satin-and-chiffon off-shoulder gown that you usually wear to these types of stuff. Your shoes are your everyday pair, and you’re thankful that the dress comes all the way to the floor because they are getting scuffed at the tip. Your hair is wavy, the result of sleeping in a braid through twelve hours, but you manage to tame it into a loose bun that’s mostly out of your face. The only accessory you have is the necklace you’ve worn since your mother passed down to you six or seven years ago. Makeup is minimal because you are here to assist, not be the center of attention. Everything you put into your appearance tonight is just to make sure you look clean and professional. And invisible.
You roll your eyes at the prince. “Your Highness, I look like this everytime the queen needs to go somewhere fancy. I don’t think ‘beautiful’ is the right word.” You know he means well, but you’re just plain, from your shoes to your face to your position in society, you’re just simple, unremarkable.
The prince furrows his brows and takes his place standing beside you. “You are, though. You may not see it, but I do.” He casts you a quick glance before turning his focus to the stage, where a popular singer is performing one of her new songs onstage as an opening act. “And those photographers over there see it, too.”
You whip your head at him before scanning the event hall for any cameras pointed at you, heart pounding hard in your chest. You don’t spot any, but you still say, “I think you had better take your seat, Your Highness. I bet those people just want to make a scandal out of nothing.” Prince Yuto may be the youngest out of the royal children, but that does not mean he is risk-free. He is being trained for the position of Minister of Culture and the Arts; he has a large following of young people who look up to him as a leader and as a person; he is one of the most important people in your life, and you can’t bear for anything bad to happen to him.
The work tablet you brought is getting crushed in your folded arms from how tight you’re clutching it. “I’m going to find Daiki--,” you say softly, making to leave, but getting stopped once again by the prince.
He’s holding one of your arms gently, but strong enough to pull you back beside him. “It’s okay,” he says. “Let them. It’s fine.”
You pull your arm away. “Your Highness, it’s not fine. You can’t risk a scandal blowing up on you right now. Everyone has eyes on you, even if you don’t think so.” You’re worried. The last thing you want is for him to get in trouble because of you.
The prince sighs. “Y/N, there’s not gonna be a scandal if we’re actually together.”
You take a moment to think. “What? You want us to pretend to be a couple? I don’t think it’s a good idea; people might get the misconception that you’re slacking off, or--,”
“No, I mean--,” he sighs frustrated, more at himself than at you, but he keeps his composure and his face remains stoic; you both are still in public, after all. “I’ve wanted to tell you this for a while now, but I just didn’t know how to say it, and I certainly didn’t plan on telling you at a charity event where hundreds of people could hear.” He’s rambling--a sign that he’s nervous, unprepared.
Prince Yuto takes a calming breath before fully facing you. “I like you, Y/N,” he says softly, aware of the number of ears that are possibly listening in. “I’ve liked you since the day you started working for my mom, and I liked you even more the longer you stayed. You’re a hard worker, you’re dedicated to your job, you genuinely care for the queen and the things she does for the people. And I’m thankful that I got close to you as much as I have because you do mean a lot to me. I know I don’t show it, because I’m not sure how to show it, and I don’t know how you would react to it. But I do like you. Very much.” He releases a breath and looks you in the eye. “So will you try? To be with me?”
All this you take in with wide eyes and a shocked-open mouth. You know the prince is not the most outgoing person; he’s most relaxed when he is with people he knows, which are limited to his family and their secretaries, along with some of the senior palace staff. You’ve never seen him in a pickle of trying to get someone’s attention, but you do remember him offering to carry your heavy work back once or twice and you insisting on carrying yourself; him telling you that you look beautiful even if you wear the same plain things all the time; him giving you a box of (really expensive) chocolate for Valentine’s Day on the excuse of “I gave all the royal family’s employees chocolates”; him giving you a piece of his favorite chocolate cookies, even though you’ve never seen him offer them to anyone else.
All this time he’s been telling you how he feels and you’ve never noticed. And you yourself can’t even tell him the same because you don’t want to risk the prince getting hurt, you getting hurt, the queen getting hurt because of your selfishness. Your work is important to you, and you can’t jeopardize it for your happiness.
But here he is, Prince Yuto. Being brave enough to know the uncertainty of what lies ahead and being prepared to face it, if you answer him; if you push aside your fear of messing up and tell him you like him back; if, for once, you look to your heart instead of thinking of your work.
He stands tall beside you, an imposing figure of grace and compassion. A man people look up to. A leader who is innovative, yet respects traditions. A role model for young people who are inspired by his music, his acts of service to everyone. A son that is loved by his parents, a brother that is loved by his siblings. A friend who listens and is always there, but always pushes you out of your comfort zone.
How can you not fall for him?
How can you say no, when everything around you points to yes?
You’re nodding your head before you know it, still too shocked to properly process the last five minutes. “Yes. Yes, I’ll try being with you.”
The blinding smile is back, and you can’t help but return it. The prince nods, unable to suppress the grin on his face and gestures to the audience, milling about finding their tables. “I’ll be on my way, then. Find my mother.” He clears his throat, fidgets about with his coat and pockets. “Good luck for the rest of the night,” he says with a nod, before leaving.
You just curtsy, still beaming and your heart is drumming in your chest like crazy, but it feels light. Like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders and you can take flight at any moment, straight into his arms.

what if it’s us? (ch. 4)
a/n: no one prolly cares abt this fic anymore but lol still gonna continue
also posted on ao3 | ch. 1 ch. 2 ch. 3
"I think Allura's my soulmate."
Just like that, everything stopped. Time, the beating of her heart, the universe itself. All the little scars and bruises on her body tingled in a strange, unpleasant way. He was the only one smiling now. The clear excitement on his face made her feel harder to breathe.
Of course.
Pidge gritted her teeth.
Of fucking course.
"I saw her left foot earlier. It was bandaged the same way as my left foot. Do you know when she got that?"
"Yeah, uh..." She had it even before you had yours, dumbass. "Just this morning, I think." Pidge internally slapped herself. She didn't want to lie, she really didn't. But she also didn't want to erase the pure joy he was clearly feeling.
Though, her decision was going to make a lot of mess was it? She took a deep breath and as she was about to change her mind, Lance's gaze fell to the floor with a look that took every breath of her away and spoke softly. "I finally found her."
Out of all of his smiles, the one he wore right then was probably the most beautiful. She could see the relief and love he was ready to give attached to it.
Something about the fact that someone else was the reason for this smile bothered her a lot. It could be just the guilt for lying, making him smile for the wrong person, that creeped up her back.
Yeah. She hoped it was just that.
"Your turn." Said Lance, interrupting her thoughts.
"Huh?"
"What were you gonna say earlier?"
"Oh. Just that I- I noticed how you and Allura have the same injury too."
There was no turning back.
___
"Stop glaring, Hunk." Pidge said quietly, feeling the intense look he was giving her.
Brown eyes kept staring at her as she continued to type on her laptop. She felt uneasy but not to the point where she couldn't focus on the email that she was writing to her professor. A letter to inform her about the extremely unfair division of tasks in her group and how her two group mates barely did anything for their project.
Somewhere in the library, she could hear Lance being absentmindedly loud again. That and Hunk's glare growing more intense was enough to make her take a deep breath and finally look at the guy across her.
"Look what you've done." He said.
"I didn't do anything."
"Exactly. You didn't do anything to stop him from thinking Allura was his soulmate! Look at him!" He whisper shouted, pointing at the main desk. There, was Allura, staring blankly at Lance who was leaning an elbow on the desk and smirking at her like an idiot.
Pidge rolled her eyes, trying her hardest to keep her blood boiling at the sight. "He looks happy."
"He looks stupid, Pidge. You know what he said to me that night? 'Would it be more romantic if I make her realize rather than just telling her?'" She fought a grin at Hunk's accurate impression of Lance's slightly high pitched voice. "And just a few weeks ago you were like 'Never. Let him find out on his own.' You two just love miscommunication and complicating things more huh?"
"It'd be more complicated if I told him while he was so stoked about the idea of another person being his soulmate. It would ruin his mood, make things awkward, and possibly ruin our friendship too." Besides, she didn't want to mess things up after they just had their deep conversation and learned to really open up to each other for the first time.
It had been a couple of days since that whole thing happened. Finals was next week, everyone had been pretty busy with their own thing. Allura had to take care of some important stuff these past couple of days that Pidge had to work at the library on her own again. Meaning, Lance didn't immediately got the chance to start his wooing.
"She's not here?" He asked the night after their "hangout friday"- as Hunk would call it.
"She has a checkup. Sorry,  loverboy ."
"Aww man." The boy looked down at his feet. "I must've hurt her real bad."
Pidge's frown deepened as she only hummed in response. It was too early for her to casually talk about soulmates after what just happened .
"Well, guess I'll just study then. Hey, Pidge."
She looked at him, he raised a brow. "You're taking care of yourself, right?"
Snorting, she couldn't fight a grin. Why was he like this? Could he stop being so nice for a second? "Yeah, don't worry. I remember your advice by heart."
Pidge cringed internally, remembering what she said.
"Fix this, Pidge."
"I will, Hunk. Just– let him have his fun for a little while." Ignoring the slight pain in her chest and Hunk's disappointed look, she finally finished the email and pressed send.
___
Shoe squeaks and loud pop music filled the gym.
The highest bleacher was cold against the palm of her hands. Pidge could see everything from up here. It was nice. Plus, she was far from everyone, far from the volleyball team playing and from the dance team which she found out was just like a bunch of Lance put in one group. Everyone was just as loud and boisterous.
"Why am I here again?"
Lance looked up at her from where he stood, one bleacher below, and flashed a smile. "Because Hunk isn't available and I'm used to having a friend watch me practice. You don't have a choice."
She let out a deep breath. At least Hunk wasn't available for real this time. Unlike the last time he left the two where he tried to play wingman.
"Ugh. Don't you have like a hobby that's a little more... quiet?"
"Oh come on, Pidge. Don't you think a bunch of college kids dancing and doing dangerous stunts is cool?"
Her attention was caught by a flyer being thrown in the air. The guy landed too quickly and it was obvious by the shocked look on their faces that his spotters weren't ready, they caught him immediately anyways.
"Fun." Her hands started sweating, seeing the team practice that same stunt again. "Is this a requirement? I mean does this boost up your grades in any way?"
"Not really. Clubs and stuff like this doesn't really add that much to my GPA." He said as he took out his water bottle.
"Why didn't you just take performing arts then?"
He took a sip. "I was going to. I wanted to study and make money out of dancing but... let's be honest, the money part would be kinda hard to achieve. So I went with my second favorite thing to do, taking care of people. I took nursing."
Pidge was about to ask another question when one of his teammates suddenly shouted. "Lance! You ready?"
"Yup! Just a sec!" Lance put down his bottle before giving her another proud smile. "Just enjoy the show, Katarina. We have like fifteen minutes left of practice. It'll be quick."
She watched as he carefully walked down the bleachers and towards his team. She bit her lip when her injured foot throbbed slightly as she saw Lance unintentionally take a hard step.
A member then approached him and said something she couldn't obviously hear.
Nodding his head, he smiled at said member before getting into position.
There was something off about that smile, though. How he went from being all jumpy to stiff right after said teammate talked to him was not a good sign too.
Pidge pushed her glasses up her nose.
The same pop music that was on repeat for minutes played again as the dance team started their routine. They did some incredible stunts and moves that could make anyone jump from their seat yet she couldn't take her eyes away from a single dancer.
Ocean waves.
That was the only thing she could think of as she watched him sway, turn, pop and glide. Lance danced so swiftly yet every move had a hint of snap. His hips didn't lie, his whole body moved so in sync with the beat.
He didn't look like he was having as much fun, though, and one time he looked as if he wasn't sure if he was in the right position which was concerning.
But still.
That was hot.

"I have eight papers due tomorrow and I haven't started any of them." Said Keith after taking a big gulp of milk straight from the carton as he sat by the kitchen counter.
He was lactose intolerant.
"And why's that?"
"I don't know, Shiro. Everytime I begin typing I just burst into tears."
Even through the phone, his brother's disappointed sigh was still upsetting to hear. "College's tough huh?"
Keith chuckled. "That's an understatement."
"I know but you have to be more responsible. Be more like Katie but without the overworking part." Keith frowned at the second statement, remembering all those nights he had to drag an exhausted Pidge to bed and how he hated seeing her all stressed up. He took another sip. "Speaking of, how is she? Her finals is coming up right? I hope she's not over studying again."
"Strangely but fortunately, no. She hasn't overworked herself in days."
"That's good. Matt's visiting you guys today so–"
Keith chocked on his milk before Shiro could even finish his sentence.
He totally forgot about that.
"You okay there?" Shiro asked. Keith could already see his brother's teasing smirk and it caused his ears to burn up.
"Yeah, just– Just remembered I'm lactose intolerant." He cleared his throat. "Anyway, yeah. Pidge mentioned that."
Meanwhile, Shiro couldn't help but chuckle at his little brother's clear nervousness. "Don't worry, you have my permission to say yes when he asks you out on a date. Again."
Keith went silent for a moment.
That was when Shiro spoke again, his voice softer and Keith could almost see him wearing his comforting smile. "It's okay, Keith."
Something in his chest loosened and he took a deep breath. Keith already knew what it meant for he had heard it from him a million times. It was the first time he heard Shiro say it like that, though. It felt and sounded like real reassurance this time, like not only the situation was okay, but also himself.
As if on cue, a couple of loud knocks were heard from Keith and Pidge's apartment door and he tensed up.
"Thanks, Shiro. I'll call you again later?"
"After you finish your papers first. Now go, entertain your guest."
Keith ignored Shiro's teasing tone, said goodbye and hanged up before walking towards the door.
He already had a guess of who the person on the other side was. And if he was right, said guest was a little bit early for his sister wasn't even home yet.
Here goes nothing. Keith finally opened the door and lo and behold, he was right. He hated that he was right.
Matthew Holt stood in front of him with a warm smile, the familiar scar still clear and present across the bridge of his nose. "Hey, Keith."

Ugh I have to wake up early to shower and then take my dad to get his vaccine but here I am up at 4am aaaaaaaaaaaa ; ;
but
I’m glad I did bc I was so stressed before...
I watched some stuff with my friend, and in the end they opted to not go for i7 tonight (we’re both stressed abt the next ep, it seems LOL)
So it was a chill watch-party night in the end!
And then after we finished I kinda felt like watching some other stuff to be self-indulgent, so I ended up (finally) finishing Nee, Sensei and yeah...Akaso Eiji is so good..... ; w ; The drama itself was kinda awkward tbh LOL but it’s fine; can’t expect much from these sorts of small production mini dramas with this sort of plot, tbh. AND ANYWAYS, Akaso Eiji made it worthwhile huhu (shameless I know but it’s so true ; w ; )b )
Finishing the drama made me so glad that I (finally) put in an order for his photobook the other day. I really hope the order went through and that it ships out soon aaaaa ; ;
There’s just something about him that is so...alluring...when he played this role for Nee, Sensei... His smile, his eyes, his facial expressions...they were all so good...
I also have watched a few interviews and things on yt that he did for Omoi Omoware, Furi Furare, and I got similar vibes, too... I’m tempted to watch that next, but I might try Cherry Maho first, just ‘cause idk if I can handle the angsty emos of the former rn lol orz
I guess I’m just having A Phase right now, huh LOL lkdfjlsjfj First it was Chiharun, then it was Kitamura Takumi, and now it’s Akaso Eiji (except, again).................I don’t even think these dudes hold anything in common tbh but here we are LOL
Well, whatever...this is fine. I got rest, I relaxed, I enjoyed my time, and that’s what matters!
As for tomorrow... I’ll sleep now, wake up by 9AM to shower, and then eat some breakfast, and take my dad to get his vaccine. It’s at the hospital and it’s not an assigned slot but rather a general time range, so who knows how long it’ll take...I’ll probably try to nap in the car while I wait...and then it’s back home for lunch, and then I’ll try to get some work done.
Hopefully.

so, i’m dying.
lol, not rly. except, yeah, kinda.
my gallbladder has finally fucked itself into a coma and only wakes up to force me to projectile vomit myself into oblivion whenever i consume solids. and on occasions, liquids, if it’s rly cranky. that’s my life now.
i have managed to eat 2 hot pockets, some chips, abt 8 jalepeno poppers, and three eggrolls (and keep them down) in the past 2 weeks. all that i’ve been able to keep down has happened in the past 24hrs. i’m not sure how i managed it, tbh, but it wasn’t without a fight. other than that, i have not digested anything but liquids in the past 2 weeks. i cannot think straight, i can barely form words in my head, let alone say them out loud. this is not fun and i don’t like it. it was one thing to choose not to eat (tho, rly, with an ed, it wasn’t exactly a choice, ya feel?) and to choose to purge, but now that i have no choice at all, i’m so fucking pissed off. like, part of me is happy bc i’ve lost 5lbs already, even with being bloated from constant puking, but like, more of me just wants to survive so i can work on my goddamn finals. which are all due this week. and none of them are done. (except the one that was due last week, managed to do that one, luckily).
pretty boy took me to the er on sun night bc i can’t keep anything down and it’s only gotten worse since they released me. we got there right as the docs were changing shifts, so the first doc was rly narcissistic and full of himself and the second he heard me say ‘i’ve got atypical anorexia b/p subtype’ he was like, ‘ah, yes, it’s all in your head, this is your fault’ which even made pb annoyed bc he apparently can tell the difference between what’s currently going on and my (his words, not mine) ‘crash diets’. but he was p sure the doc didn’t like me bc i called my primary doc (who was supposed to get me scheduled for an ultrasound to get this taken care of almost 2 months ago but didn’t bc he didn’t believe me when i said (having opinions from 2 previous docs) i had gallbladder issues, so he ignored it) an idiot for, ya know, ignoring me when i told him something was wrong. but docs are assholes, they don’t like it when you’re right abt something they can’t see themselves. so i’m switching primary docs asap. this guy’s a fucking joke.
(it’s also been almost three weeks since the pharmacy faxed him paperwork abt the insurance company not wanting to pay for my adderall prescript bc i take 3 pills a day and they only wanna pay for 90 in 75 days (yeah, not even 2 pills a day, like this shit doesn’t work for five hours max). he still hasn’t filled it out. it’s fucking finals week and i’ve got maybe 6 pills left. how fucking grand. so that’s gotta be sorted at the same time he gets me a surgeon’s appt.)
so the guy had me pee in a cup and gave me fluids/anti nausea meds (which were nice, helped me keep down a bit of food sun night). then he basically told me ‘it’s just cyclic vomiting, you’ve just got to break the cycle’ but he was leaving so he was going to let the next guy discharge me. thank fucking god, bc otherwise, i’d probably be dead in a couple weeks.
so this next guy is eccentric af, this whole hospital is a circus, it’s fucking great (no sarcasm, i love quirky ppl). he checks out my cup of pee and orders some blood tests (that the other guy didn’t even care to do), then he comes in and talks to me and he’s fucking great, a+ doctoring, love this guy, sadly, he doesn’t have a private practice, but apparently the nurses get asked if he does all the time. how do i know? my mother asked, bc she liked him. i trusted him. i trust no docs, ever. but this one is good. he says there’s def something wrong, def not just my ed, and orders me an ultrasound for the next morning. good, great, getting this show on the road. he understands my concerns abt my primary doc and offers to explain the results of the ultrasound to my mother via phone mon night. so she calls, he tells her i’ve got ‘sludge and wall thickening’ which are Bad(tm) esp in combination with me not being able to eat anything for over a week and a half.
so, now i’ve got to talk to a surgeon and get my gallbladder removed. as i fucking figured i’d need months ago (during the summer, with my pain and stuff). now this vomiting thing has been happening at least once a semester for abt 2 years now. no one has known what is wrong. ‘it’s acid reflux, take these pills’ ‘these pills don’t work’ ‘welp, idk ^.^’ and so forth for 2. fucking. years. now i’ve got confirmation that my gallbladder is bad. like ‘could explode and kill me’ bad. this is great, i can finally get something done abt this.
except.
except it’s finals week and no only am i running v low on adderall (i just took a pill for the first time since fri morning just a few hours ago) and i’m now fatigued and unable to eat with 4 projects left to do. all of which require a fuckton of concentration. concentration i just don’t have even with the adderall bc i haven’t actually eaten much food lately and can’t fucking think at all. like, every time i eat, it comes right back up.
so, i’ve been sleeping a lot. great, right? except for ya know, all the work i’ve got? nope. i can’t sleep for longer than 4 hours without having night terrors. like BAD ones. i’d tell you abt the one i had when i slept last (from 5:30p to 8:30p) but it would require a whole host of trigger warnings just to give a summary. but it fucked me up badly. and they’ve been getting progressively worse. i dreamed my dog died. i dreamed my apartment was possessed and the demon was trying to kill me. i’ve dreamed of animal abuse and murder and even worse things that leave me fucking shaking when i wake up. but i’m so tired that i keep falling asleep anyway, no matter how scared i am. and i stay asleep, until my alarm goes off, then i shut it off and fall asleep again (into a different night terror). there is no stopping this. my body is dying and it’s telling my brain i’m in danger so my brain is trying to scare me. it’s working. i’m well aware i’m in danger but there’s nothing i can do until my mom sets up a surgeon’s appt for me. i’ve got to remind her to do that tomorrow. i’d do it myself, but i’m far to fucking out of it currently to talk to a medical professional in any capacity.
but throughout all of this, i’m falling further and further behind on my final projects. i’ve got a 10min play analysis due tomorrow at 10:30a (which i’ve got to work on tonight). then i’ve got to finish my stagecraft project (which requires that i go to the shop 3 more times so i’ve got to do that at like 11a tomorrow, then 12p thurs, then like 7p thurs, but i’ve got to find a shop employee to go with me, apparently, and i’d take goldilocks, but she obvs doesn’t want to do it, so i might ask pb or mary, if i have to). then i’ve got to do my monologue assignments for acting i (i’ve got one almost fully memorized, i just need to refresh, but i’ve got to memorize another one, read the play it’s from (i’ve got to buy the ebook), and do an analysis over it before thurs at 10:30a). then my intro to theatre final is due last, but it’s p big and i’ve got to do a lot for it. like 7pg paper plus a ‘previous action’ script (i’ve got to write up a script showing what happened before the play itself starts). i’ve got a SHITTON of work to do and only 9 hours for the sa final, then 24 hrs for the acting i final, then 26 hrs for the itt final, and somehow i’ve got to find at least 3 hours for my sc final. all while trying to get sleep and not eating anything.
plus i’ve still got to do some loan stuff with finaid this week.
i emailed my profs telling them what’s going on, but they’re not going to accept any late finals, so idk why i bothered. (i haven’t heard back bc i just emailed them like, an hour ago and it’s 1a). i CANNOT fuck up this semester bc i won’t get finaid anymore if i do and i can’t drop out. so like, i’ve got to get everything together, but i’m just so fucking sick and everything is overwhelming. i’m going to do my damnedest to get everything done, but idk if i’ll be able to. i rly don’t know.
i’m so fucking stressed over this shit, which is only making my gallbladder issues worse, so it’s a losing battle all around and i’m drowning. honestly, if i had the money, i’d pay for someone to do this for me, but i can’t and i wouldn’t anyway bc like, i’m not putting my name on anything i didn’t do myself out of some bullshit pride thing i’ve got going on. my pride’s gonna get me killed one day, i just know it.
but, tonight, i’m gonna work on my script analysis final and pray to god i can get it done in time. i’ve got like 2 hours left on my adderall, maybe 3 if i push it. i need to make a plan of attack for everything and get to work.
i’m not going to fail this semester if it fucking kills me. and it actually might.
