17: [OC] What made you choose their faceclaim/appearance?
- For Moth!
((Ooooh this is a good one because Moth is still one of my favorite designs and DTNs.))
((When originally got the concept for her, I already knew I wasn't going to a Luna Moth because that felt... too easy to me? if you know me you'd know I try to avoid going the Obvious route, or if I do I put some absurd spin on it.
In Moth's case it was fun to try and figure out how to work her color palette and design, especially since I don't work with earthy colors super often. I also knew right away that I wanted to make her Toll because 1. I thought it would be funny if a bug rm was Toll, and 2. there are some Big Fucking Moths that exist. Like, I don't know about you but most of the moths that I see where I live are itty bitty things. So knowing there's ones that can be as big as your hand?? I had to play with the idea in the sense of bug robots it was too good to pass up.))

The glover's silkmoth for the Livelys and the cecropia moth for the founder

I see and those are very cool. But that’s a lot of moths. I think someone should be a wasp

A touch of childlike wonder
@Interior
It's National Moth Week!
This week is a great time to appreciate the beauty of some of the world's most diverse organisms, like this Glover's silkmoth found in the Western United States.

the Atlas moth has no mouth to speak, just as these thoughts that communicate in silence with yours
have you seen?
that i am trying to think with you by writing out a map from the instrumental womb… all in the hope of a reply by being read, to reach out and connect willingly as a friend.
(A starting line)
hoping that you would be free to speak of this as well from your body where you are, just as i do from mine where i am (even though you cannot yet hear)
but to see your face One day is the direction of these words
this is my “hello”
i hope One of these pages will reach through
and truly, have you come to find that this life is so temporal, the physical body, yet a spiritual body is promised to those who “believe…” in Light (in the True illumination of the Son)?
[metamorphosis]
every day asking the same question mark (?)
how many days will you wait to open up?
This type of moth does not have a mouth which means it cannot eat. It lives off energy stored as a caterpillar which is why the Atlas Moth only has a life span of 5 to 7 days. When it is a young caterpillar however it eats a lot of privet leaves, citrus trees, cinnamon trees, and mango trees.
each day is a ticking time bomb, quietly exploding into the next…
all will pass away in time to reveal the new heavens and a new earth
“Home”
And for now we have these changing seasons made by earth’s Creator that point to rebirth.
[US National Weather Service Detroit / Pontiac Michigan]
This is a friendly reminder that we're now past our climatological warmest part of the year and normal temperatures have begun their downward trend. It's all downhill from here and soon the snowflakes will be flying again. 🙂

Climate may shift and change the environment just as many things in life change over time, and a change of heart & mind is what Love seeks most of all
(A renewing)
people fear many things in this world but there is no fear in Love
and so the main thing that pollutes the world is sinful behavior and grace seeks to cleanse it

The forewings are made of flesh like a bat’s, but they have the pattern of her moth side. So they have the little eye-like patterns on them.
The hindwings are covered in fluffy chitin.
She only has two arms but does have the feathery antennae of a moth.
Very large bat ears.
Rat-like bat tail that’s tipped by fluffy chitin.
Doesn’t have any silk, but she does have the moon power of precognition.

Glover’s Silk Moth (Hyalophora columbia gloveri) is a subspecies of the Columbia Silkmoth, found in the Rocky Mountain region of North America.
Some entomologists afford it the status of a distinct species. The larvae feed on Buffaloberry, Wild Olive, and Willow leaves. As with all the members of the family Saturniidae, the adults have no mouths, and do not feed. They only live a few days as adults.

A dancer of the Nightmare's Troupe Redeemed by the Scarlet Flame Yet troubled of what he may lose And find himself once more in rain Name: Lyre Alias/Nicknames: N/A Age: Looks 22 but is actually a few hundred years old Species: Glover's Silkmoth Sex/Gender: Male Pronouns: He-Him-His S.O.: Still questioning, might be Demi tho Status: Single Occupation: (Rogue) Grimm Troupe member Role in the Troupe: ??? Allegiance: Grimm Troupe Alignment: True Neutral Family: Considers the Troupe his family, otherwise no living relatives
Personality traits: Distant and clearly mistrusting, generally keeps to himself and doesn't let anyone get insight into his goals and motivations. Driven by a strong purpose though and not willing to give up until he's reached it. Can be rather tense around others. Heavily dislikes rain, also seems to shy away from fire. It's unclear whether his behavior is the same around the Troupe. Theme song: "Tourner Dans Le Vide" - Indila (Translation) Backstory: Came to Hallownest a few months ago in search of... something. Has been scouring the area ever since, eventually focusing on Deepnest specifically. He's formed a tentative alliance with the Mantis Tribe, trading Deepnest kills for food and other necessities. On rarer occasions he goes up to the City of Tears to trade with Lemm, but he's neither fond of the relic seeker nor the constant rain in the city. Nothing else is known of his backstory so far. In-game behavior: - First encountered while exploring Deepnest (only possible if Grimmchild charm is not equipped). Will have a brief conversation with the Knight before leaving. - After the first encounter the player will occasionally stumble upon his kills, finding a dead enemy every now and then. - Occasionally he can be found in the Mantis Village, mentioning how he trades with them for resources. - On much rarer occasions can be found in the City of Tears, there he will mostly complain about the rain. If the player talks to Lemm after the encounter with Lyre then the relic seeker will have a couple things to say about his "strange customer". - ??? - ??? - ??? - ??? - ??? - Lyre will disappear without a trace if the Grimm Troupe is banished at any point. - ??? Extra: - Generally keeps the hood and cloth mask up, only really lowering them while resting. - It might be a bit clumsy to wear two masks at once, however it is necessary as he doesn't want to reveal his connection to the Troupe yet he also can't bear taking off their mask. - Troupe mask withstood a heavy blow and was cracked near the beginning of his journey. - Cherishes his scarf a lot and takes good care of it, though it did suffer a bit along his travels. It was a gift from Divine. - Right handed with the nail but can use the knives equally well with both hands. - Was taught how to use throwing knives effectively by Karkana (the resident knife thrower), she gifted him three once she deemed his training complete. - Carries a dark nail forged by nightmare flame, a wicked blade with sharp edges. It's strength is about equal to a coiled nail. - Has night vision, thus doesn't carry any source of light with him. A red glow can be seen through the eye holes of his mask while it's active. - ??? - Wraps his arms and hands with silk bandages to protect them, mostly from sharp rocks while climbing. Always leaves a gap at the base of his palms though. - Rather androgynous in appearance. - Has a lot of mannerisms that are typically seen as more feminine, including the way he walks, stands idly, and hand gestures. He doesn't seem bothered by it however. - Taller than Brumm, shorter than Grimm. - Although not unhealthy looking he still comes off as being a bit more on the thin side. Less than his species naturally should be.
