Rashta's side story was just a dream

Ah damn it. When I first read about it, I mistook it as an alternative timeline but turns out it was just a dream. So Sovieshu having another woman as a mistress and Rashta working as Navier's maid was just her soul dream. Makes sense if you think about the arc. To Rashta, Sovieshu wanted a child and him having a drunken one night stand with a countess as revenge on Navier's supposed affair with he*nry was just her imagination of the situation. It was just a wish fulfilling dream unlike other side stories that actually happened in the canon. (RE has lots of side stories)

The children Side stories

Glorym aka Mote is revealed to be Sovieshu's child in the side stories. She grows up looking like Sovieshu, with white hair. Mote/Glorym also identifies herself as Rashta and Sovieshu's kid. Sovieshu later offers the throne to her but she declines. Sovieshu loves his child no less. He always harbours a great deal of parental love for his daughter.

Sovieshu has good relationship with Kai and Lari. He loves them both. He basically has the cool uncle relationship with them.

Evely side story

Evely has a sister named Dartha who was stolen by the bandits and grew up with them just like Glorym. Dartha also has healing power like Evely.

Evely regularly heals Sovieshu and later heals ergi's mom.

There's a scene between her and Sovieshu in the garden where she was crying and Sovieshu comforted her. Which made me uncomfortable cause it was oddly intimate. People were speculating that this might be the hint the hint of her being his future third wife. I HOPE NOT. THAT'D BE WEIRD.

Sovieshu sees her as just a kid. Yes in the main story, Evely at first thought Sovieshu brought her in the palace to be his concubine and outright asked him about it but Sovieshu laughed it off as the idea was too absurd. Why the writer is murking the water in the side stories? I wish I could understand Korean cause MTL is mess.

Anyway there are other side stories but they don't interest me.

And the last one is

Sovieshu's regression

Turns out Sovieshu's new arc has been well accepted among Navar readers. I like this one too. Sovieshu showed great character depth. Instead of dodging responsibility, he owned them. He admitted his fault instead of blaming others. He never discarded Rashta rather took care of her and Glorym. Well, even in main timeline he tried to give her multiple chances until it was too far gone. Anyway he never blamed Rashta for his situation rather blamed himself for not being more cautious about her. He corrected his fault in this timeline and warned her against Ergi and disclosed to her that he knew about her past. (Lots of could have been avoided in the main timeline if he told her he knew about her past). In the end he gave her a bigger palace to stay in with their daughter Glorym. He never went back to her as a lover.

And with Navier. Boy oh boy it was fun to see him grovel. He ate a giant humble pie. Rightfully so. Navier didn't forgave him easily. And I am glad Sovieshu didn't disrespect her. He never raised his voice against her and admitted that it was his fault alone for ruining their marriage. This arc is filled with cute moments between Sovieshu and Navier. Sovieshu finally admitted his love for her and Navier thought it just temporary. Sovieshu would have returned to original timeline if he didn't win her heart. As he remained with her in the new parallel timeline, it means Navier finally forgave him. The ending was also beautiful. Sovieshu treasured Navier for the rest of his life and them falling in love with each other again.

I'd have preferred if Sovieshu went back in time before Rashta arrived. But I guess author didn't want to erase Glorym. I love Glorym but don't like Sovieshu getting a second wife. The problem could have solved if Glorym was Allen's child but author complicated that by later turning Glorym into Sovieshu's bio kid in other side stories. Author wanted have her cake and eat it too with Sovieshu I guess.

Anyway Sovieshu's regression is the best arc in my opinion. It flows very well with the main timeline. Not a dream rather continuation of the main story. It happens after Sovieshu retired as an emperor and Lari is preparing for the coronation. In a way, it can be interpreted as the main ending too.

Finally the novel has come to its end.

💐How would everyone react to the wrath of lady douma and how she just humiliated rattrash in the eastern empire because she tried to take away the children that makes her feel something.

🌈Her later on getting her son back and becoming her" jolly "old self again like she didn't make people feel her wrath like nothing happened.

Major spoilers for the novel.

Sovieshu

He agreed that what Rashta did was not acceptable by any means, but demanding that the High Priest do a paternity test on the young child and Rashta was not anyway for a Holy Lady to be acting. That was, until the results came in and the child was in fact Rashta’s and Alan Rimwell’s. Then, he demanded that she, her daughter, and Alan do a paternity test and the results came back positive.

The Emperor’s whole world was crashing down around him. You then presented the certificate of Rashta’s slavery, and Soieshu was absolutely furious. It was then that he realized that he was the infertile one between him and Navier, and that’s why they never conceived a child while they were married. 

As an act of remorse in the place of his Empress, he made sure that the children were safely returned. Rashta was promptly arrested, and as you and Kosair were holding your son and Navier and Heinrey were holding their twins, Sovieshu judged accordingly and sentenced his wife to death for her crimes.

Rashta

She was jealous that you just got to live your life in peace and joy and she had to suffer for every little thing. So, she sent someone to kidnap your and Navier’s children. What she didn’t know is that those children (even the twins) were the only people who made you forget your past, and once they were gone you were back to your insane self. You were just much more angry.

So, you demanded paternity tests done on both Ian and Glorym, and the results came back with Alan Rimwell being the father and Rashta being the mother. You showed the results as well as the certificate of slavery to the press, and everything she built crumbled. She grew hysteric, and you just laughed.

Once you had your son and Navier’s twins back in your arms, you calmed down a bit. However, Sovieshu was not finished with his wife. Everyone, including herself, knew that she would be tried for each of her crimes. Heinrey and Navier took the children out of the courtroom before the High Priest condemned Rashta to death for the charges against her.

The gasp she let out as she saw your evil smile was one of complete fear. Later, in her cell as she was waiting to be brought out for her execution, you visited her one last time. You whispered to her, “You shouldn’t have stolen my son, you bitch. Maybe you could have continued living a lie”. 

Navier

You heard her gasp and scream, and you ran out to see what had happened. Come to find out: the children were gone. You asked her what had happened, and she explained that a man had come in and stolen them and had pushed her down before she could see her face. However, you knew that this was Rashta’s doing (she was the only one who held no respect for you). Thus, your wrath began.

Navier and Heinrey were distraught, but you and Kosair were enraged. You decided to let everything spill out about the Empress of the Eastern Empire. Paternity tests concluded that Glorym was not a valid heiress to the throne because she wasn’t related to Sovieshu. Then, it got out to the people that not only did she have children before marriage, but she also was a slave since you showed the certificate given to you by Viscount Lotteshu. 

Eventually, you were able to find the children and get them back (and have a meal, but we don’t need to talk about it). You placed bunches of kisses all over your son’s face, but you knew this wasn’t over. So, you put your son into your sister-in-law’s arms so she could take him out of the courtroom until it was over.

Both you and Navier testified against Rashta in court, and your adoptive father was acting as judge. He still judged impartially, believe it or not. It was the jury that concluded the Empress was guilty of all charges and should be sentenced to death. The High Priest signed the papers, and she was condemned. The children were now safe.

Heinrey

This man was about to wage war with the Eastern Empire until he got his children as well as his nephew back, but you pushed him aside (gently, of course) and said that you would get them back even if you needed to kill someone. You technically did, metaphorically speaking.

He just watched as you quickly wrote to the High Priest before you prepared to leave for the Eastern Empire. You told him to start getting ready as well, as you knew that the current Crown Princess of the E.E. was not Sovieshu’s biological child. You were going to keep it a secret, but Rashta decided to steal your son.

At the dock, the Emperor was standing there with the children. Heinrey was honestly pretty good as long as he knew that Rashta was getting what she deserved for stealing members of the Royal Family, but you wanted to see the Empress dead. So, you opted to stay and let the others go back to the Western Empire.

It wasn’t until you came back that he heard each and every single one of the charges that were pressed against Rashta, and it was all because of you. You did feel bad about Glorym and Ian, since they would never be able to see their mother (in Glorym’s case, again). You told Sovieshu that if the pain ever became too much, he could send the baby girl to you and you would raise her. Heinrey was just surprised that you really exercised the wrath you had to condemn the former mistress to death.

Kosair

Upon finding out that not only were his niece and nephew gone, but also his own son… it’s over. You and him were angry, and understandably so. However, you were much more powerful than he was, so as he was preparing bags for you two to get going, you quickly sent a letter to the High Priest that demanded a paternity test be done on Glorym to see if she was truly Sovieshu’s daughter.

Lo and behold, she wasn’t , and the evidence was used in the trial against Rashta. Navier and Heinrey were sitting with the children on one of the benches in the courtroom as you and Kosair testified against Rashta. It was clear who was going to win, but everyone was entitled to a fair trial.

When the verdict was reached, you grasped onto your husband’s arm as the jury stated the Empress of the Eastern Empire was going to be sentenced to death. Right after everyone was dismissed, you both were finally reunited with Douma and it was the happiest you have ever been before.

Then you had to start the process of sailing back to the Western Empire. One could consider it a cruise with how much everyone relaxed at being with their children once again. But, you became very paranoid, and you hated to leave your son out of sight for even a second. Kosair understood, so he suggested that when you got back home, you both could sleep in the nursery until your fear was conquered.

I can't believe it took me so long to realise this wasn't Rashta. It's Cici hugging Sovieshu.

I guess my gut was telling me something was off when I first saw it. Cause Sovieshu looks parental here, the way he's embracing her and I thought it's weird that he's looking like that while hugging Rashta. Now I know that it was Cici, his expression makes sense.

He thinks Cici is Glorym here, and Cici also thought Sovieshu was her parent. That's why the scene seems so emotional. I'm 😭

I wish Cici stayed. Sovieshu wanted to take care of her despite knowing she wasn't his child later. He still cared for her. (This man is so damn parental 🥺😍).

Her ending seemed unfinished to me. I wish we knew if she succeeded in finding her real parents. Or how her relationship developed with Charles (Sovieshu's nephew).

Glorym is so adorable!! She looks just like her brother. It's sad to see that Rashta genuinely wants to spend time with her but her past sets her back. And now that Rashta finally gave birth, the reality is starting to set on her (the nobles villainizing and ignoring her, etc.). This is just the tip of the ice berg. I've read up to ch 168 and it's bound to get worse :')

RASHEINREY

• for canon divergence, Heinrey attended Rashta’s court trial and before she died he visited her cell. he couldn’t do anything to save her and after she died, Heinrey asked the prison guards to give him her remains. he buried her in a secret enclosure of his palace’s garden and he always left her little gifts. in the novel, after Glorym was taken from her (because she dropped Glorym), she started being delusional and she pretended that a doll was her daughter, so I like to think Heinrey would leave little dolls on her grave.

• for an alternate timeline, Rashta runs away to the Western Kingdom and Heinrey is the one who finds her. he helps her enact vengeance + he basically doesn’t care about the fact that she had kids with Alan, he’s raising those babies with her. Ian occasionally gets to see his father who was spared but Heinrey got the imperial family to lower Alan’s status to a commoner after getting his family punished. basically Heinrey spoils Rashta’s children + makes Ian his heir and he calls it a day.

• for more canon divergence, Heinrey offers to bail for Rashta at her court trial much to everyone’s shock. he literally offers so much money that his offer is finally accepted and he basically just. takes her home. “you’ve done a lot of bs but I think you’re hot and I love you” is a summary of what he says after he gets to be alone with her. Navier is scared of history repeating itself but. we get navisha too. everyone is Rashta’s partner now.

ERKENNA

• I have a self-indulgent AU where McKenna gets shot down prior to the events of the main story. he’s basically just flying around and then some guy who’s hunting looks at him and he’s like “hey lemme shoo this one for practice” and McKenna nearly dies. luckily Ergi is part of the other guy’s hunting party and he basically rescues McKenna. tends to him like he’s a pathetic wet cat. basically it’s up to you to guess the rest but at some point they kiss.

• Ergi is literally always flirting with McKenna,, and our blue KFC chicken boy learned how to seem unaffected

• McKenna always tells Ergi “I would marry you if you were a woman.” and Ergi’s response is always “I only want to marry you more because you’re a man.”

This is sort of related to my previous questions but I also think it's really weird that no one talks about Sovieshit and Trashta not doing anything about slavery (Especially Trashta considering she was once a slave herself) but will get on Navier's case for not fixing the system.

Also, may I trouble you for an opinion about Navier gifting Trashta the bejeweled sword for Trashta's baby shower? I see people using it as evidence that Navier dehumanized Glorym because she's a former slave's child but I don't think that's the case.

I don't understand why sovieshit freed rattrash he loved her but it's difficult to stop slavery instantly for rattrash she only thinks she is the only person who deserves not to be a slave she ordered a person to kill the person who freed her and her being the empress now they are both.

For navier giving the sword if you look at history most queen's give the concubines presents like that because their child can't become the future ruler because the baby is lower in rank than the child of the empress and emprorr aka the future ruler it's navier als say that she might be pregnant and have sovieshit his attention but she is still the empress and not to forget her rank.

Rashta's death scene

Idk why I keep doing this to myself. But I'm sucker for angst so I read the death scene of Rashta. Man it hurt, a lot. Poor girl I wish I could comfort her cause that's what she was seeking. A little bit of comfort. She was looking for Sovieshu cause he's the one truly made her happy and wanted his comfort.

She hallucinated her babies (Ian and Glorym) being alive and playing. She really felt guilty about her deeds in the end. She hallucinated the maids that she harmed being alive and healthy.

Rashta was psychologically ill since the birth of Ahn. She never recovered from that trauma as the death of Ahn (despite being faked by lotteshu) hunted her till death. She was a broken soul. People hate her for her cruel actions (but turns a blind eye to other characters crueler deeds). I can't hate this girl. I just can't.

If she didn't have guilty conscious, she wouldn't remember them but she did. Her guilt ate her away. She suffered and died a painful death.

The story is so unforgiving to people who opposed Navier yet turns a blind eye to people who committed far worse crimes simply because they are simp to Navier. It's nausea inducing and disgusting. In side story, Rashta only got a happy ending when she turned into a Navier simp, because heaven forbid a character becomes happy without bootlicking Navier. (-_-)

No I'm not angry at Navier, I'm angry at the writer. She tried to make Navier the ultimate dream girl, so not like other girls. 😴

Only Navier gets to be happy, screw anyone who doesn't follow the rule.

Rashta deserved an arc where her life didn't revolve around Navier. I just want her to be happily living in a cottage with her two kids, far away from the maddening crowd, living a simple happy life just like she wanted before dying (though she wanted Sovieshu to be in the picture too but eh).
