I don’t want Liv to win the championship immediately. I want her to lose a couple times and go completely feral. We just watch her slowly fall into madness until she finally wins, only for Rhea to come back soon after and win the title back

The Five WWE MVPs of 2020
Tumblr media
5
Asuka
Tumblr media
It feels like WWE views Asuka as a skilled utility player instead of one of the elite talents in their company. There’s a level where that’s disrespectful and indicative of their problems, but also with a company this size it’s not the worst idea to have an elite talent bounce around different positions. No matter what was going on, Asuka approached her role with the same quirky intensity and she was a joy to watch throughout the year. She gave Becky Lynch two great matches to further legitimize her year long title reign, then had one of the best moments of the year when Becky announced her pregnancy and relinquished the title to her. She became the main opposition to the Golden Role Models in the summertime and had great matches with both Bayley and Sasha. She even gave a lot to a motivated Zelina Vega in their Clash of Champions match. Very few people are ready for Asuka.
Drew McIntyre
Tumblr media
Talk about bad timing. Imagine the biggest moment of your professional career happening at the biggest show of the year without any fans there. McIntyre had probably the biggest starmaking moment of the year when he eliminated Brock at the Royal Rumble. But instead of the epic showdown they should’ve had at Raymond James Stadium, they had a 4 minute finisher fest in front of no fans. Ay it is what it is. But even with the up and down quality of Raw throughout the year, not an iota of blame can be placed on Drew. His charisma and strong talking was on display nearly every week and he never really had a misstep the entire year. He had a great match against Seth Rollins at Money in the Bank and an underappreciated brawl against Bobby Lashley at Backlash. His Orton feud suffered from Orton problems and a stupid title switch, but their Ambulance match was great. His epic clash against Roman Reigns was one of the best matches of the year and he ended the year with a great TLC match against AJ Styles. Great job, Drew!
3
Bayley
Tumblr media
DING DONG!! WHAT A YEAR!! Bayley really didn’t have a lot of quality opposition for her Smackdown title all year. Lacey Evans just isn’t at that level and booking didn’t put enough effort behind her feuds with Naomi and Nikki Cross. But it didn’t matter because Bayley (with Sasha) was a one woman army of entertainment this year. She was brash, enthusiastic, and almost maniacal in her heeldom. Honestly, she didn’t even need a murderers row of talent and great matches to get her over, just put a microphone in front of her and let her go. Once her and Sasha won the tag titles, they were given free reign to go to all three shows and they were the clear highlight of the company in the Summer. Her match against Asuka on the July 5 Raw is one of the best TV matches of the year and shows how refined her heel game has become in contrast to her being one of the best pure babyfaces in history. Her attack on Sasha added a brutal edge to her character and it resulted in two of the best matches of the year. Her booking post Sasha has been a little so-so, but she’s begun a fun feud with Bianca Belair to carry over into the new year. Great job, Bayley!
2
Roman Reigns
Tumblr media
Forget everything that happened before Summerslam. He was in a terrible feud with Corbin and then he was set to face fucking Goldberg at Wrestlemania before he went on his COVID vacation. He returned at Summerslam looking super jacked and super mean. On the Smackdown between Summerslam and Payback, Roman revealed his partnership with Paul Heyman and I knew we would be getting something special from there. Roman’s cousin, Jey Uso, becoming #1 Contender for the Universal Title unleashed the Tribal Chief and he’s been a blast to watch ever since that moment. He’s a brutal dictator driven by the survival of his family which is completely dependent on his success and his reign as Universal Champion. He and Jey had two of the best matches of the year that were driven by Roman’s determination in Jey acknowledging him as the Tribal Chief of the family.
Roman really deserved this character. For the years and years that he was treated with inexplicable scorn from “fans”, he deserved to have a character arc that is treated with tremendous care and precision. Every segment involving him shows perfect characterization in how he reacts to whats going on in his world like members of Jey Uso’s survivor series team not respecting him or Kevin Owens having the unmitigated gall to have no fear in challenging him. In the ring, Roman is a brilliant blend of the vicious Shield Roman and the more dynamic Big Dog Roman. He’s brutal and mawling, but he’s still a tremendous seller and never looks unstoppable. His interpromotional match against Drew McIntyre was one of the best matches of the year and just a great display of two great modern talents locking horns and his TLC match against Kevin Owens is one of the best one on one TLC matches we’ve seen. He’s on the run of his career and we should be grateful. I acknowledge you, Roman, I acknowledge you.
1
Sasha Banks
Tumblr media
The year started very weird for Ms. Banks. She didn’t participate in the Women’s Royal Rumble and she was absent from the Elimination Chamber card. She was just kinda floating along being Bayley’s primary support until it felt like creative actually flipped the switch and decided to A) give them more time to be the hilarious obnoxious tag team of the year and B) subtly show Sasha constantly saving and sacrificing for the team to build to an inevitable break up and feud. This rub really breathed life back into Sasha’s career which wasn’t dead at all, but was too stagnant for a talent of her caliber. They captured the tag team titles and spread their ridiculous heel joy all over the company, even returning to NXT where Sasha showed some instant electric chemistry with a future star in Shotzi Blackheart.
The moment everything changed was the Monday Night Raw where Sasha issued a challenge….to Raw Women’s Champion Asuka. It instantly became one of the most highly anticipated matches of the year and it was Sasha’s first solo PPV match of the year. On the way to that, she returned to NXT and had a banger with the NXT’s top dog Io Shirai. They main evented that night and to date is one of only nine nights where NXT defeated AEW in total viewers. Despite the terribly booked finish, her Extreme Rules match against Asuka was one of the E’s best straight up wrestling matches of the year and ended with her as Two Belt Bankz. Her world came crashing down as she was once again unable to successfully defend the title and lost it right back to Asuka. The Golden Role Models also lost the women’s tag titles and after an unsuccessful rematch, it finally happened; Bayley snapped and assaulted her best friend, attempting to break her neck and end her career.
Their split instantly made Sasha the biggest babyface in the company and everything from that point seemed like good old fashioned catharsis from being held back and misused through the years. She ended Bayley’s year plus reign as Smackdown Women’s Champion in one of the best Hell in a Cell matches in history. For the first time in her main roster career, she successfully defended her title and defeated Bayley in one of the best TV matches of the year. At Survivor Series, she finally cleanly defeated Asuka in a great champion vs champion match and she ended the year by having Carmella’s best match ever at TLC. This final quarter of the year was just all around tremendous for her as she had classic matches, exorcised some of her booking demons, displayed her aptitude for making anybody look great in the ring and even outside of the subjective realm of wrestling, becoming one of the primary reasons for Smackdown’s ratings surge and arguably the face of the company. This was the year of the boss, where the E finally realized the star that they had and put the power of the machine behind her. The sky is truly the limit.

Shai's Masterlist
I'm Shai and these are my writings! I write fan-fiction for Wrestling (Mostly for WWE but people from other promotions do pop up occasionally) and K-Pop (Mostly BTS but other groups maybe in the near future) I sometimes take requests but its not the norm for me. My writing partner and sister from another mister is @lilmissriottbliss most of my writings have her input in some way, shape, form or fashion.
Tumblr media
If you've been following me long enough you'll notice that there are several stories missing from this list. If its not here its because I made the decision to delete it from my Tumblr because I knew it was never gonna get finished and I didn't want to get anyone's hopes up that it would. (I no longer write Aleister Black as a main character or Ambrollins) The exceptions to this are Drew McIntyre vs The World and Chase both of which will be back shortly, streamlined for easier reading. If it is on this list I PROMISE you its getting finished.

After the implosion of her last relationship, Becky took Finn up on his offer of a job at the Lair and moved to New York for a fresh start. While she's content to play the field at the Lair the last thing she's looking for is a new Submissive of her own, especially not one as high maintenance as the gorgeous dark-haired man currently sitting at her bar is rumored to be...

It's said that the Army vet turned owner of his own private security firm breaks Dominants as easily as he makes millions as CEO of his company Arc Security. NXT Takeover: New Orleans 2018
Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas defends the NXT Championship versus Aleister Black.
Almas is a wrestler that I mainly considered an everyday jobber with NXT, being an underwhelming babyface previously in NXT, and I admit to having been majorly surprised when he defeated Drew McIntyre for the NXT Championship at NXT Takeover: WarGames. However, I must admit being impressed by Almas in his defeat of McIntyre, even if it felt like a possible transitional victory. He then followed this up with a title defence against Johnny Gargano at NXT Takeover: Philadelphia, which was an instant classic as I watched; legitimately, that match felt perfect as I watched it. In Almas, NXT currently have a Champion who could quite possibly lose his title at any time, which creates great tension in his matches, but whenever he wins, it isn’t a shock or underwhelming. For the first time in a long while, a victory for either Champion nor Challenger is guaranteed or expected.
What makes this match even more tantalising, is that if you had to pick any wrestler in NXT who you would think would be the obvious choice to win the Championship, you would pick Black. He’s currently on a great run with two back-to-back brilliant performances on the last two NXT PPVs; one a tremendously engrossing character-driven match against Velveteen Dream which made the simple act of saying a name intoxicating, and the other a badass Extreme Rules match with Adam Cole that I loved. Black could easily win on Saturday and it would make perfect sense, his unorthodox style and aura making him instantly Championship material. But he hasn’t yet been beaten in a singles match (his only pinfall loss was in a Fatal-Four-Way match to Gargano), and story wise, not only could it elevate Almas as Champion to defeat such an individual, but it could make the victory for Black in a rematch, that much sweeter. I would not be surprised if Almas wins through interference by Zelina (who has been an excellent addition to his character) or other nefarious means, and then maybe ending in a Cage match to keep Zelina out.
Almas to retain.
Ember Moon defends the NXT Women’s Championship versus Shayna Baszer.
Ember has had a very difficult role in following Asuka as Champion. After losing to Asuka twice when battling for the Championsip, it took Asuka to vacate her title due to injury after a historic 510 day reign. Moon beat Peyton Royce, Kairi Sane & Nikki Cross for the title, but since then, she’s not really cemented herself as Champion. Even her victory over Baszler at the last PPV had her suffering from an injury after being decimated throughout the match.
For me, I feel Baszler boring as a competitor, she comes across as a cliched bully, and it leaves me bored of her. Having already felt underwhelmed by their previous match, I am far from tempted by this match, and I am worried that it’s made for Baszler to win to create a heel badass, a proto-Ronda Rousey almost. I’d rather see Moon emphatically win and move on from Baszler.
Baszler to win, unfortunately.
The Undisputed Era (Adam Cole & Kyle O’Reilly) defend the NXT Tag Team Championships versus The Authors Of Pain (Akam & Rezar) versus Roderick Strong & Pete Dunne in a Triple Threat Match, Winner wins the Dusty Rhodes Classic.
I have previously thought that NXT Takeover could be improved by an extra half hour, as there are always several great wrestlers missing off the PPV (for instance, even with these large matches, we’re missing Eric Young, Tyler Bate, Nikki Cross, Kassius Ohno). Two wrestlers missed off a few times previously are Dunne and Strong, but it’s a clever move to pair them together for this tournament. The AOP are previous winners of the Dusty Rhodes and Tag Team Champions, as well as the most likely team to debut on the main roster after Wrestlemania, so despite being the heavy hitters, they are unlikely to win the titles again. So the main storyline will be the battle between The Undisputed Era and Strong/Dunne.
Bobby Fish was very unlucky to get injured recently, but seeing Cole and O’Reilly creates a more interesting story arc. This match will most likely open the show, to allow time for Cole to rest between matches, and I reckon Cole & O’Reilly will still be able to work well together, just not as flawlessly as Fish & O’Reilly. The Undisputed Era have grudges with both Strong and Dunne, Strong is viewed as generic sometimes but I always enjoy his matches, with a stiff hitting style that compliments Dunne’s bruiserweight technique. If it was just for the Dusty Rhodes Classic, I think Strong and Dunne would be a good choice, but with the titles on the line, I think it’s more likely the Era will sneak the victory, with Dunne & Strong then chasing after.
Undisputed Era to retain, just.
Ladder Match for the NXT North American Championship: Adam Cole versus Ethan Carter III versus Killian Dain versus Lars Sullivan versus Ricochet versus Velveteen Dream.
Colour me surprised when NXT announced the decision to create a new Championship. The North American Championship has an old-fashioned, NWA/territories sound to it, which eschews to Triple-H’s style of booking and direction. The North-American Championship is a great idea as it allows other talents to have the focus on them, ones not yet prepared for the NXT Championship, but the I am slightly nervous about the fact that the UK Championship was supposed to do the same thing.
Cole is going to be appearing in two matches, and in all honesty, he doesn’t need the title. He’s enough of a snake that he’s Teflon, he could lose every match and still be doing fine. He’s more likely to be battling for the NXT Championship soon, but successfully defending the Tag Team titles will be sufficient for the moment. Velveteen Dream will most likely look very good in the match, but it does feel too soon for him to win a Championship, he’s been impressive in his matches against Ohno and Black, but still needs to iron a few kinks out.
Sullivan is tough and been surprisingly impressive, and Dain is more than just the battering ram originally suspected. The will likely end up causing a lot of damage, but most likely they will continue their own private feud and end up missing the end of the match, maybe even after throwing each other through the announce table or such.
With the two new members of the roster, Ricochet and EC3, there’s a mild uncertainty on how likely they are to win. Ricochet is likely to be the Shelton Benjamin/RVD of the ladder match, demonstrating his high flying ability and flexibility to wow the audience, I can definitely see him stealing the spotlight in this match. But he won’t win; Ethan Carter III will most likely win. The reason for that is because he’ll be similar to Bobby Roode with the NXT Championship, a workhorse with charisma who can give the Championship some glamour, as well as being a heel to generate interest. With some excellent interviews, a few solid matches, and tremendous heat, EC3 will be a great heel for a hero to chase. And also, he was the first announced in the match, having interrupted William Regal. If that isn’t enough a rub, nothing is.
EC3 to win.
Unsanctioned Grudge Match: Johnny Gargano versus Tommaso Ciampa (If Gargano wins, he can return to NXT; If Ciampa wins, Gargano is banned forever).
Forget the NXT Championship match, forget the North Atlantic Title...this is the main event of the this Takeover. A grudge match that is THREE years in the making, with a Tag Team put together for the original Dusty Rhodes Classic, a singles match between the two in the Cruiserweight Classic, a tremendous tag team rivalry against both The Revival and The Authors Of Pain, until a heartbreaking betrayal at NXT Takeover: Chicago, with Gargano becoming the Daniel Bryan of NXT, the audience falling for his sincere, hard-working, charismatic style, myself included. Gargano struggled with the betrayal, losing several matches when distracted by the ghost of Ciampa, missing through injury but still dangerous. And then NXT Takeover: Philadelphia occurred, where Gargano stole the audience’s love with his tremendous performance against Almas, with his loss breaking hearts, to then be followed by Ciampa’s attack.
This will be Ciampa’s first match back from injury. This will not be a technical classic, or likely to be a five star match. It’s going to be akin to Shawn Michaels vs Triple-H at Summerslam 2002, it’s going to be a fight, hard hitting, and emotional. And I cannot wait for this match, even though I am torn between who will win. If Gargano was to win, he would vanquish the villain that is haunted him for so long, but if Ciampa was to win, it would cement him as the cruellest of villain, with Gargano able to be ‘promoted’ to Raw or Smackdown. And even though Gargano has defeated Ciampa before, that was when there was respect and fair-play between the two. Here, they are looking to hurt each other, and that could tie into Ciampa’s game more.
My head says Ciampa, but my heart says Gargano.
Either way...this will be one hell of a PPV, one that will definitely force Wrestlemania to raise its game.

NXT Takeover: War Games Predictions
Tumblr media
Gonna do some wrestling writing again because I’ve neglected this Tumblr like I said I wouldn’t do. Because I’m garbage. Let’s look at the NXT Takeover card (with the pre-show matches that will air next week) and see what’s up.
Ruby Riot vs. Sonya Deville
Ruby Riot is the best so I want her to win everything ever, but I don’t see that coming at War Games. Sonya Deville has been built up so far as an ass-kicker, and one of Ruby’s best skills is making an ass-kicking look legit. I think Deville dominates most of the match, Ruby makes a late comeback, but Deville shows an even meaner side that puts Riot away. Give Ruby a win a little bit down the road. Right now I’d like to see Deville built a little bit bigger. Pick: Sonya Deville
WWE UK Championship: Pete Dunne (c) vs. Johnny Gargano
This should be a really great match. Gargano’s maybe the best worker in NXT and Dunne’s probably the best of the WWE UK lads. Since it’s on the pre-show it might not get a ton of time, but these two could put up a hell of a sprint. If it somehow gets a decent amount of time it could potentially be on the same page as Dunne/Bate from Chicago. This is the easiest pick of the night, since the UK division is built around Dunne right now and Gargano... isn’t from the UK. It would be a real shock if Ol’ Jonathan Grapples wins this. Pick: Pete Dunne
Kassius Ohno vs. Lars Sullivan
NXT has been really good this year, and Lars has low-key been the best part of the show for the past few months. I’m excited to see Lars in a match that will presumably last a bit longer than his TV matches, and Ohno’s the perfect guy to bring that out of him. Ohno’s NXT run has been a bit disappointing for fans since he seems more like a player-coach role guy than a main eventer, but he’s still one of the best in the world. He’s gonna make Lars look like a million bucks here. Pick: Lars Sullivan
The Velveteen Dream vs. Aleister Black
This is one of the biggest toss-ups of the night. On one hand, Aleister Black’s been presented as a star and has yet to take a loss. On the other hand, The Velveteen Dream’s improved his gimmick, been solid in the ring and could use a signature win. I wouldn’t be surprised if they give Dream an upset victory here. Still, my gut says to go with Black, as I could see him being one of the next in line for the NXT Championship. Pick: Aleister Black
NXT Women’s Championship: Kairi Sane vs. Peyton Royce vs. Ember Moon vs. Nikki Cross
This is another toss-up. Kairi Sane seems like an easy pick because she’s an international star and won the Mae Young Classic. You’ve got to keep her momentum up right now. If one thing is certain about this match, she’s not eating the pin to whoever becomes champion if it’s not her. Ember Moon and Nikki Cross have been great in their roles this year, and one of them finally winning the belt after being close so many times against Asuka would work really well. Peyton Royce is a good dark horse in this match. I’d love to see her and Billie Kay atop the division before they go up to the main roster. I think that might actually be the way they go. I think Sane has the match won, Billie pulls her out of the ring and Peyton takes the victory. Pick: Peyton Royce
NXT Championship: Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas
McIntyre’s reign as NXT Champion has been a bit underwhelming. When he won the belt, people weren’t really too excited. He doesn’t really have the crowd behind him as champ even though he’s work has been good. I think Roddy would’ve been a better pick to take the belt off Roode, but we’re past that. So I think they should take the belt of Drew here as Almas has been getting hotter as the year’s gone on. Though, maybe it’s because I want to see the following scenario take place: Almas takes the belt, beats Drew in the rematch and beats his next challenger or two or three. Meanwhile, Johnny Gargano goes through his redemption arc and builds up momentum, becoming number one contender. Rumble or Mania weekend, Gargano finally beats Almas in their third meeting to become NXT Champion, only to be interrupted by a returning Ciampa. THIS SHIT WRITES ITSELF, HUNTER. Pick: Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas
War Games Match: Authors of Pain & Strong vs. Sanity vs. The Undisputed Era
I think this is probably the clearest choice of the marquee matches on the card. The Undisputed Era has to win this, right? They’re still relatively new to the scene and have been leaving trails of bodies throughout NXT, so to have them lose their first real marquee match as a heel stable seems stupid. Guess I wouldn’t count out Sanity as NXT has seemed pretty high on them throughout their existence. I think this should be fun even with the weird NXT War Games rules. Authors of Pain probably don’t have much of a chance here and are just gonna be here for some HOSS SPOTS. Big question for me is less who wins the match but if Roddy joins his RoH brethren by the end of the show. Pick: The Undisputed Era
