here it is! a screenshot redraw from Gildedguy story #0! + the sketch for it bc i think i actually like it more haha.
Anyway! I am planning to do a screenshot for every story in the series (and maybe some more bc there are loads that are amazing). I already have some plans hehehehe
What is the stick man Fandom and how do i get into it?? Your post about it seem so interesting but like. What is that
HELLO IM GLAD YOU ASKED im always down to spread propaganda
The specific stickman series you see me post the most is Animator vs Animation by Alan Becker! Here's a speedrun playlist my friend made for all the episodes up to date! Great starting point!
As for the greater part of it theres,,, A LOT more out there and itd b impossible 2 encompass the entirety of it in one post but ill give u some starting points. Though these are just my favorite series.
Shock, a classic, and the tribute for this is awesome as well!
Broke Floor, wonderfully coreographed stickfight animation series, the little character interactions in this are everything 2 me
Alter, ive watched this recently and the animation is sooooo good, fairly interesting story too!
Gildedguy, beautifully animated series which strays a bit from the usual style of stickmen but still in the same scope!
Now if you wanna do more exploring i have my ultimate fav stick animations here, but i also have one that has 400+ videos which you can comb through as youd like here
Thats it for now! Feel free to ask me anything ^_^
man AvA had a chokehold on me along with several other indie animators 6-7 years ago I'm so happy to see the series is still beloved today (the physics one brings a tear to my eye)
could i recommend some indie animation serieses on yt?
Gildedguy (yt channel is the same name) is another popular stickman fighting series! Its origins are from animators on newgrounds would have stickman oc's in a competitive bracket and fans would vote who would win. Whoever wins animates the fight! The series evolved now to it's own series and it's great. It also animates to music, so the fight sequences are soooo satisfying when hits punch to the beat
No Evil by Betsy Lee is an animated series going on since 2013 (iirc) and is a sequel to a graphic novel by the same person! I never read the graphic novel but the series worldbuilds so well and provides good context for the past. The world and characters are based on Aztec mythology and has a beautiful blend of country music covers from the cast. It's more slice of life but the story does pick up
OH SHIT THANKS FOR THE REC ANON
yeah the animation vs physics video was insane. you just reminded me that i need to add the soundtrack for animation vs math to my playlist thank you for that
also AYOOOOOO RECCOMENDATIONS i am a busy busy man with so much going on constantly but i'll try and get to watching these later. thank you so much o777777
On one level…it’s a game that already has stickfigures in it. I’d love to see the color gang get caught up in a stickfigure-world that seems to run on slightly different logic than their own. What is living in a game like, vs living in a stick-city/on a website/on a desktop? Are all the sticks in the game alive, or only the NPCs? Are the enemies real enemies, or is everyone chill when the game isn’t being played?
On a more meta level…it would mean a collaboration between cc!Alan and cc!Michael (the animator of GildedGuy and creator of Slush Invaders), which would be AMAZING.
Hi, I hope you don't mind me asking but... What IS rhg..?
What is RHG.... that is an INCREDIBLY loaded question but I will absolutely do my best to explain.
RHG, or Rock Hard Gladiators, is an internet stick fighting community where two people animate or draw their stick figures having a battle. The community votes the winner after its done.
The entire RHG community is run by this guy, Hyun.
He started the community honestly around the time the first AvA was released.
Now in RHG, there are a lot of Clans, basically groups of fighters who team up in order to add to their overall score by the end of a season (1 year)
Each Clan has a leader and you can try out to join some of the more popular clans.
Some of the most well known Clans are:
-NEMESIS
-SOLDIER
-ZETABRAND
-BURST CRUSADERS
Now obviously there is so much lore within the RHG universe, and it will take months to search through all of it, but if you like cool animation, fun characters, awesome synced music, and sticks fighting on the scale of Showdown in AvA, then you'd love RHG.
If you guys are interested in taking a look at them, I'd suggest these creators.
-Gildedguy (makes full length animation and has an ongoing story)
-Shuriken255 (made the "Imitator Collab 1 & 2, helps Alan animate the AvM videos)
-Hyun (Mainly his One vs... videos, but he hosts plenty of other collabs thar are awesome!)
-CamilaCuevas (Creator of The Undertale Au, Glitchtale, leader of Nemesis Clan as Jade)
-Just search up Nemesis Clan on YouTube and start watching Umbrella's story.
-Watch an older video of Gildedguy, Slush Invaders. Honestly some of my favorite stuff.
-Oxob3000 (Has a vs Fight with Gildedguy and also helps Alan animate AvM videos)
-Jomm (The Wrench vs Jomm stuff is pretty cool! One of the members in SOLDIER clan!)
-Dojo Demon Collab (one of the greatest collabs made next to the Imitator collabs. Part 2 is getting made as we speak)
I could keep going but I'll stop here! I promise you, it won't be a waste of time to look into them. I hope I was able to answer your question!
I actually have a rhg battle under my belt, even though I lost lol. It was still really fun to do. I didn't animate, I did a comic duel, so none of you will ever find my YouTube channel yet.
