Instincts (Tighnari x Pregnant reader)

Your attention was drawn to the sound of the front door opening as Tighnari made his way into your shared home, a basket of what looked like herbs and various plants in his hands. He smiled as he spotted your figure laying on the couch, a soft look in his eyes as he made his way over to you, setting the basket on the nearby table. His eyes wandered, landing on your stomach, which was becoming swollen. Tighnari had always been soft in your relationship, but he seemed to take it to a whole other level when he found out you were pregnant. He was always insisting that you let him take care of anything, even if you weren't that far into your pregnancy. He would clean the house, cook you food, and buy you whatever food you were craving, on top of his job as a forest watcher. You were always trying to get him to take a break, being able to tell that he was tired, but he would just smile and tell you not to worry about him. You found his habits sweet, and you knew that he did them all to take care of you and your unborn child.

One of the habits you noticed since you had found out you were pregnant was the fact that he would come home carrying a basket full of herbs, mushrooms, and various other plants that he had foraged from the forest where you both lived nearby. He would always tell you what benefits they had, and reassure you that they were safe. Of course, you trusted him, but would always tell him that he didn't need to worry about you so much. Though, no matter how many times you said things like that, he would continue to bring back any plants he knew would be healthy for you. He was doing the same this time, explaining which plants he had gathered this time, all with a soft smile on his face. He gently placed a hand on your stomach, imagining what your child would look like once they were born. You could remember the look on his face when you told him he was going to be a father, the smile that appeared instantly as he pulled you into a hug as he told you how happy he was.

"Tignari" you said, causing him to look over at you, he lay next to you. Keeping a hand on your stomach in a protective manner. Seeing him like this always made you smile. He placed a gentle kiss on your forehead as he ran a hand through your hair, a content smile on your face.

"You don't have to keep doing this, the baby and I are fine" you tried to reassure him.

"I'm just making sure it stays that way" he commented, you sighed to yourself as you leaned your head against his chest, soon falling asleep to the sound of his heartbeat. The next morning, you were once again awoken by Tighnari entering the house, carrying more plants and herbs.
